I loved this story! It is one of my favourite genres and this author absolutely did it justice! I lost myself in the story so easily and was transported to 1800’s Regency London! The authors writing really was excellent, I was fully invested in the story from beginning to end. I could tell that she had really taken the time to make sure what she was writing was in keeping with the time period and she did it perfectly in my opinion. I have read a lot of stories that take place in this time period and I think this is probably one of my favourites!
I loved the character Lady Anne! I thought she was great! I loved the way in which the author chose to write the story – for me it gave me a real insight into Lady Anne’s life and her story – I felt really involved in what I was reading!
Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady was a beautifully written story – one that I loved reading and would absolutely recommend to others 100%!!

Wow! I love it when I am grabbed from the start and cannot put the book down. I have read this author before and this one was just as good. I really found the story refreshing and unique.

I really go pulled right in by Tails and Brodie. I love shifter books and these characters really grabbed me. I felt as though the characters just jumped right off of the pages and I was in the story with them. I found that the balance was just right with drama and just a little romance. I really found myself anxious to find out what would happen next. I definitely will be reading more from this author.

I have read quite a few books by this author now and I always enjoy her imaginative and detailed writing. The genre of this book isn’t one I usually choose to read but the blurb sounded intriguing so I gave it a go. Overall I really enjoyed it, it was nice to read something a little different and I liked that the story was very unpredictable. The characters were interesting to read about and I was fully invested in what I was reading. The author threw in some great and unexpected twists and turns which meant I was guessing what was going to happen in the story the whole way through – this definitely helped keep my interest!
I am definitely looking forward to seeing if the author takes this forward further – I know I’ll definitely be on the lookout for a follow up book!

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Claimed by Via Mari a four-star read that you will want to claim as your own. This is number three in the Torzial Affair series and this one picks up after the last so I would advise you to read them all, if you don’t you will only want to go back and read them. The suspense and danger in this story as so real and compelling, along side some great characters in Brian and Jenny. The whole drama in the danger they face and weather they will come out the other side or not, just adds another level to the story. The ending was amazing, the beginning was good, it just lacked a little in the middle that let it down a touch.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ON HER TERMS is book 2 in “The Arrangement Duet” This is not a stand-alone and Book 1 absolutely has to be read first.

Part 2 is equally as detailed as part 1 and there were definitely times I skimmed to get to the action quicker.

Action, suspense. slow burn, and family of choice vs family of origin. As in book 1, this story is told in dual POV and we are allowed a deeper understanding of what makes this couple tick.

I do recommend this duet.

ON HIS TERMS is one of those books that was a little different than I expected it to be. Based on the intro, I thought it was going to be much darker.

This story reminded me a little bit of 50 Shades. It was enjoyable, a bit predictable, and a bit suspenseful. I appreciated that it is dual POV and we can see what both M/m are thinking.

This is the second book of this series, but its not necessary to read book 1 to read this one.
We meet Tess and Brian and Brian’s two girls, Tatum and Alice. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and came to the conclusion that I want to move to Cinnamon Bay.

We learn along the way all about Tess, who is a songwriter and she happens upon an “ad” for a nanny position and with the tight spot she’s in, she goes to investigate.
I instantly fell for Brian and the story of him and his daughters.

This is a must read book, and I will be diving into the next as soon as I can get my hands on it. A new one-click author for me.

Dangerously Close To Extinction (Knollville Legends Book 1)Dangerously Close To Extinction by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dangerously Close to Extinction is the first novel in the Knollville Legends series by C. A. King. This is my second novel by this author.

Finding herself caught between not knowing about her past and being abducted by someone unknown to her, Tawny begins a journey to discover more about herself before it’s too late.

This was an interesting take on the shifter genre and one I hope there is more of. Tawny was a different protagonist then what I normally see and I felt her name fit her character because it was also unique.

There was a lot of twists and turns and left me wanting to quickly turn to the pages to see what happens next.

With school starting again tomorrow, I’m glad I got a chance to read this and can’t wait for the next book.

Shattered (Shattered Hearts Series Book 1) by Nicole Banks – Review by Emily Walsh

Shattered (Shattered Hearts #1)Shattered
By: Nicole Banks
My Rating: 3 of 5 stars

Shattered (Shattered Hearts Series Book 1) by Nicole Banks was an okay read, that is heavy on the emotions and drama.

A little out of my normal comfort zone, I went into this book with an open mind. I like the flow and the multi POV’s, each character had a distinct voice and the transitions were smooth and noticeable. The voices didn’t blend, which is hard to do with more than two POV’s; so props to the author for that.

I like the overall plot, but there are a few things that bother me. I didn’t like the push and pull, sure at first it was expected, and I wasn’t bothered by it, as both Angel and Jasmine are heavily scarred. I didn’t like how long it went on, the lack of honesty, and the immatureness of their growing relationship. They were childhood friends, but acted more like “old not close friends”. I was waiting for more from them, and I was let down in that regard. Also, as the story went on, I wasn’t too please with the way Angel was acting.

Overall this book is a good read, it has many complex elements that are multi layered, and full of raw emotions. I am going to be reading the second book, as this one does end on a cliffy. This book gets my recommendation and stamp of approval, so please give this book a chance, as it has a compelling story of learning to trust, and picking up the shattered pieces.

Happy Reading

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue, #2)Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Trouble in Mind: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2 by Donna S. Frelick, 4 stars.

Gabriel is a tracker all over the galaxy who also works at finding missing people. Now he has been asked to search for a missing woman and her son on Earth. The request came from a very good friend of his and he cannot refuse. He has special skills that can help him locate most beings. Unfortunately for him, the locals have been called in already and he must cooperate. FBI Special Agent Alana is his contact. She is not what he expected at all. In fact, he is quite taken with her. Alana will take any help she can get to find the missing woman and her child. When Gabriel offers a lead, it is very strange, but she decides to go with it. Can they find them in time? What will they have to risk?

This was a very good book and a great addition to the series. I really like Alana and Gabriel. The other characters we have come to know are back too. All of them seem so real, and so different from one another. Then there is the story. It has romance, action, and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the finish. It takes you on a ride of ups and downs, never knowing just where you will go next.

I quite enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who enjoy paranormal romance and/or action. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly suggest the whole series since it is so good.

Shattered (Shattered Hearts #1)Shattered by Nicole Banks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am not new to Nicole Banks but this new series was a delightful surprise from her. Shattered is the first book in the Shattered Heart Series and I see promise of fabulous characters and romantic trysts to to come, much like this one was.

In Shattered we get to find out all about Angel and Jasmine and see how they handle life and the many obstacles that can plague a newly home serviceman. Angel returns from the Marines with some guilt and past demons that just won’t let up on him. When he meets Jasmine everything seems a bit easier to handle for him and he finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Jasmine also has her past and emotional standoffs that will come into play. I love how Nicole Banks shared their story from multiple points of views. It kept the story flowing quickly and made it multidimensional. These two were not my absolute favorite couple of all time but the story was rich enough that I wasn’t left wanting anything. I look forward to seeing what else will come in the next few books. Thanks for the fabulous read Ms. Banks!

Shattered by Nicole Banks is book one of the Shattered Hearts series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I honestly didn’t know what to expect but I was blown away.

Jas has not had it easy the last few years. The one person she feels she can talk to other than her best friend Kris is actually coming back home. Neither Jas nor Angel were ready for what that meant for their relationship. They both have a lot of things to work through as long as they can let each other in.

I absolutely loved this book. I can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of the series!

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so sad to see this trilogy come to an end! I absolutely fell in love with Jenny and Brian while reading this series. I was so immersed in their lives that I felt I had a personal stake in how their story played out! Despite her submissive needs and her trust issues, Jenny is such a strong and caring woman who would do anything to keep her friends safe. And Brian is fiercely loyal and determined to defy the odds and prove to Jenny that she is the only woman for him. And who doesn’t want a hot, sexy, billionaire with a mansion complete with an entire level of playrooms determined to earn your complete trust while satisfying your every sexual desire??? I know I do!

This is an action packed, suspenseful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to guess how it will all play out…but inevitably you will be wrong! Lies, deceit, twists, turns, romance, and sexual intensity. This book has it all! While Claimed ties up Brian and Jenny’s story in a beautiful way, there are so many story lines left to explore. I am looking forward to future works from Via Mari. After reading this series I am most definitely hooked on this author!

Tails is a strong, beautiful woman who is not going to be told what to do. They are about to be confronted with evil that neither of them comprehend and they are both morally opposed to. This story teaches us we must not accept the status quo and we must fight cruelty that us as humans inflict on one another. Before Tails met Brodie she would never have questioned what she is told but she realizes she can’t trust everyone. Will the shifters ever be accepted by human society or will they continue to be tortured and put in a box as bad until they are all gone? This is a fascinating story that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time and the love that grows between Brodie and Tails is remarkable.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee was fast pace, intriguing read, that packs a mean punch.

This book was everything you wanted in concluding a series. As I said it was fast pace, but moved in a steady way as to keep the reader engaged. There wasn’t a dull moment, as the detail kept your mind there, and the suspense kept you on the edge of your seat. This book at times will get you in the feels, with its well written characters, plot, and storytelling. The author did a wonderful job at making this book feel like a full leant novel. It’s always amazed me when Authors can do that. This book is part of a series, so make sure you read the other books before this one. As it has a building continuous plot, and you won’t get the full impact if you skip them, like this book they aren’t long reads.

Overall this book is more then worth your time an energy, and it gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Out BadOut Bad by Janice M. Whiteaker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Out Bad is the opening chapter to Janice M Whiteaker’s Sinners or Saints series. What an opening it was! I cannot wait to see what comes next and I absolutely love how it also connects to her Lost Boys MC series! I have read EVERY SINGLE BOOK she has written and I can only say that she gets better with every book and every series she releases and when she finishes a series I feel grief as I do not want to let go!
Out Bad is the story of Joe and Gwen. Both of them carry heavy heavy burdens and their demons seem at times too strong to be conquered! Joe hopes to redeem himself with every single act, he hopes that he will meet a woman that he has something to offer to and he will be able to build a life and family he can be proud of. Gwen I a stubborn workaholic who believes that any chance for her own family is gone and she only role she will every play is the auntie to her sister’s daughters …
The writer gives us an emotional and suspenseful story that keeps you biting your nails and I feel that I got so much more out of it because I had read the Lost Boys MC stories before I picked up Out Bad! I cannot wait to see what direction the writer will take this series!
