Emotional Mess is what I was after reading this book. Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington was a little different than my normal romances but the great way to see how music impacts some peoples life. But I was stuck to my kindle what to know what was going to happen to Colbie. The mother/daughter relationship between Colbie and Lyric was an amazing part of the story; reminds me too much of my own relationship with my mother. This quote “It’s not what you look at, it’s what you see” is something that will stay with me. Highly recommend this story to every woman who loves to read.

The Fisher Men X My Heart is the first book in the Fisher Men Series by author Rebel Nicks O’Dey and is about four brothers and the girl next door and about the love they have for on another. After an incident occurs during their youth all the Fisher brothers make a pact to take care of Samantha in a brotherly fashion making am unavailable to each one. But the heart wants what the heart wants and Samantha falls in love with one of them. When she comes home from college she must decide if she loves him enough to possibly end relationships with the rest of the Fisher family. Which Fisher man has she chosen? Read the story to find out!
This was a story that was cute at times and sad at others with a good story line. Unfortunately for me something was missing. The back and forth with the diary entries and interviews kept throwing me off, so maybe that was it. Plus at times, Sam came off a little whiny but I did love the Fisher men and they were the characters that I fell in love with and they were the characters I finished the book for. Will I continue this series? Absolutely! I’m too invested now with the guys and I can’t wait to see who they end up with as their love interests.

I absolutely fell in love with the characters and their storylines. They all loved her but never anything more, they promised….. that is until she comes home and is ready to choose one of them…..

Michaels Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington
5 Star!!!!!

Another great new author and book. I was really hooked from the first page. I found that the author had quite a unique concept for the story. I found myself getting lost in the story. The author has a way of bringing the supernatural into the real life that blends the story and really creates it.

I really found Colbie’s character to be endearing and I found myself having a bit of a tug at my heartstrings as the story unfolded. I found that her whole life was shaped by her new zest for life. Her goal to really e is just a great story line. I really enjoyed this book and I found that the author draws you in and keeps you hooked. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Siren’s Call: Cursed Seas by Amy McKinley is a stand-alone Novel by a brilliant author.
This is a brilliant fantasy book and one unlike any others I have read for a while. The story itself was engaging and felt very original. It wasn’t just the same old story you see so often. It made it exciting to read and grabbed your attention quickly.
I really felt like you could connect to Nerissa as well. Her whole predicament had me behind her from the start.
Amy McKinley is such a strong writer. All her work is captivating and such an easy read, it’s like the pages turn themselves. She is fast becoming one of my go to authors and I would definitely recommend you give her a go today.

Michael’s Heart grabbed my attention from the synopsis. As an amateur musician, I’ve always associated music with emotion and often judge a piece on what emotions and how intense those emotions are. While Colbie, Lyric, and other characters are all important, it seemed like there were too many aspects to the plot right off the bat. You’ve got the competition, the song with missing lyrics, and Colbie’s accident all within the first chapter. As you read on, things don’t get crazy tangled or too much more complicated but the structuring put me off.
That being said, I enjoyed Colbie’s desperate search for what holds her soul together while also threatening to tear her apart at the seams. If you get confused at the beginning, don’t give up. The wrap up is worth it.

My One Love by Necie Navone is the second book in the Brothers of Camelot series. This series can be read as stand-alones however I would definitely recommend reading them all as they are just that good.
This book for me was probably even better than the first. It so so full of twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through. These characters were also so gripping. I had to read more about them.
This has been a very strong start to this series and I am really looking forward to what else is to come.

The writing back up the book straight away too. It was gripping and well written. If you are a fan of YA then you should definitely try this book.

What a read! This is the first time in a long while I have thoroughly enjoyed a Crime book entirely. David Stever is a new author for me but I can’t wait to see what else he brings! Scarlet Fever is full of suspense, action, adventure & mystery, and it will leave you wanting more.

Everything about this book was excellent! I was absolutely captivated I have been on the edge of my seat throughout the read, I couldn’t stop reading. The characters in this book were the best I’ve read in a long time, following their journey in this read really had me connect with them, they really made this book edge even further to being incredible. I found this read mentally visual, I could picture the scenery and surroundings, you will be transported into this read for the entire read and not want to put it down!

I can’t wait to see where this author takes these characters or even what else is to come from this author! Until then do not miss this read you will most definitely not be disappointed!

I loved Poppy and Mac. They were such entertaining characters. I really felt like you could engage with them quickly.
The story is well paced and fun to read. The author knew exactly how to develop it and keep it moving. Sylvie Stewart is an author I have become recently familiar with and her work is always enjoyable. Not only would I highly recommend this book I would highly recommend this author.

It took a chapter or two to really get into the book, but once I was hooked, I couldn’t put it down. Barnes keeps your attention using multiple well developed character arcs and a quickly moving story. She is descriptive in her writing and you really feel as if you’re part of the story. I was sad when I finished reading and was left wanting the next installment. Well done. 4 stars

It pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Russ Quinlan and Claire Ellis. They find themselves the target of an assassin. They enlist the help of friends Brand and Sarah. Russ and Claire also find themselves on the run. There is an attraction and connection between them. They can’t be distracted by it now. What does the future hold for Russ and Claire? Read this book to find out. There are times in this story that I was turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. The story has both suspense and a deepening romance. I love Claire’s character as she is strong and intelligent. Russ is a man that is haunted by his past in Iraq. I grew to care about Claire and Russ with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. I also enjoyed reading about the additional characters that are introduced in the story. Many of them are helpful to Russ and Claire. Then there are those with their own agenda and plans. Don’t miss out on a thrilling read that you won’t want to put down. I highly recommend reading it.

Game Changer is about Poppy James who has moved to New York from Georgia for her dream job of magazine publisher. New York is totally different from Georgia, they don’t know what Sweet Tea is, everyone is always in a hurry and people are grumpy. Enter Angus “Mac” McKinley the hot talented blacksmith who is as grumpy as he is hot and he’s not into giving interviews until he meets Poppy. If she doesn’t get this interview and it turn out well she won’t get her dream job! Sparks fly between Poppy and Mac so if she lays on the charm maybe she can get this interview. She kinda wants to figure out where this might go but Mac doesn’t understand a good ole Georgia girl who spends all her money on clothes and designer shoes. I enjoyed reading about Nerissa. She is a young woman who lives in a small seaside village. The gods have protected them. Then things take a turn for the worse. The village hopes that the offering of an unmarried woman will return the god’s favor. Nerissa then meets Zeer, a man who she is very attracted to. Will he be the one to help her escape the terms of the offering? What does the future hold for Nerissa? Read this book to find out. I loved how this story has mythology and many tales are told. The author has done an amazing job of world-building. There are many additional characters that are introduced who have their part to play in the book. Some have their own plans and agenda. Don’t miss out on a fantasy book that you won’t want to put down until you have read the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

O’Brien has an interesting way of writing that makes the clues hide behind his descriptive writing style. I was gripping my kindle as I was reading because I was so wrapped up in the story I forgot my surroundings. The story is about two foster girls Madigan and Grace, who became sisters. There was a situation and the girls were split up and was raised in different homes. They were reunited only to be thrown again into a murder mystery, and that was not all of it. There are things coming up to make the ladies question who to trust. Will Madigan and Grace overcome their deep secrets? Only by reading this book will you find out.

The storyline is humorous at times as well as emotional. I loved reading about the main characters. She is working hard to secure her dream job. She is intelligent, strong, and independent. Mac is a man that she at times finds confusing. What does the future hold for her? Read this book to find out. This is a story that is entertaining and fun to read. The book has romantic scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. I couldn’t help but care for the main characters and wish for them to find happiness. I enjoyed the bantering/interactions that goes on between the characters. This is a story that you won’t want to put down until the end. I would highly recommend reading it.

Orion’s Kiss by Claire Luana is a wonderful YA paranormal adventure- with mystery, action, drama, suspense, discovery, myths/Greek mythology, an ancient deadly curse, Gods & Goddesses, danger, a little romance, visions, seers, oracles, fate, and reincarnation.
I loved the Greek Mythological aspect to this story- it gave it added depth and an extra element of interest. As always, Ms. Luana has woven a really great story, pulling me in and entertaining me the whole way through. I first fell in love with Ms. Luana’s writing when I discovered the Moonburner Cycle Series, and have read most of her books since then. So, I had high expectations for this story, and she definitely didn’t let me down. But it will take something truly exceptional to top the Moonburner Cycle series for me- and this was a great read, but it doesn’t top Moonburner in my eyes, but still deserves a 5 Star rating.
I enjoyed the story, although parts of it were a little predictable- but Ms. Luana’s fantastic world building and endearing characters made up for that minor detail. The whole story is told from Merope’s point of view, and I really wish we got a little of Orion’s perspective too.
This was a fun adventure, another wonderful creation by Ms. Luana- and I can’t wait to see what she does next!

This is a cute young adult story that reads like a modern day fairytale. I enjoyed this from start to finish. Bett and Beau meet because of an accident. When Beau is sent to work of damages, it could be he may find a little more than work. Bett is a hard girl that there is so much more to her behind the roughness. Beau starts falling for her but the problem is her lies. I enjoyed watching their characters grow throughout. I highly recommend reading their story to find out if there is a HEA.

Scarlet Fever: A Crime Thriller is the first book in the Johnny Delarosa Thriller series by David Stever. It is a private detective thriller story that will keep you gripped the whole way through. This is the first time I had read any work by this author and I’ll definitely be reading more.
Johnny is a PI who works out of the pub he co-owns with his former partner in the police force, Mike. He also has the added help of new amateur sleuth Katie, who he rescues from kidnappers at the very beginning of the book.
In this book they are searching for £2 million pounds which went missing 30 years previously. This missing money is related to mob activity so therefore attracts the attention of many undesirables. As the body count rises, several attempts on Johnny’s life happen, and then the disappearance of his client, Johnny knows this is not an easy case. In fact, if his team all come out alive it’ll be a bonus.
Scarlet Fever is fast paced and full of so much intrigue and suspense, you’ll be sucked right into the story and it won’t let you go.
I really look forward to reading more books in this series as, if this first one is anything to go by, we are in for a fantastic series.

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is an emotional contemporary romance read. The author uses music perfectly to tell Colbie’s traumatic yet hopeful story and share her life with us. I really liked this read and have already recommended it to a friend!

This is one of those ‘journey’ books. We follow Colbie through so many significant events in her life that you’re really able to connect with her. After a tragic accident leaves her fighting for her life, Colbie learns that there is more to death than so many people believe. While I know many people fell for Michael as soon as we are introduced to him, I’ll admit it took me a little longer; he just seemed too perfect! Their instant connection was fun to read and when Colbie was miraculously brought back to the real world, I could feel her pain at losing Michael so quickly. So when she meets Will and his daughter, things get complicated. And oh man, did I love this! This is not you typical romance read and I think that’s what made it so refreshing and addictive. I ended up reading this in one sitting, as I just couldn’t bear to leave Colbie and her struggles alone!

Music plays a huge part in this story. If that’s your kind of thing, this is a must read. I love a music-based romance, but this exceeded all my expectations. Colbie is linked to music so deeply and this connection is really what drives this book. There is so much emotion packed into such a short read that you need to be prepared for some ups and downs. When the truth is finally realised at the end of the book prepare yourself; I was a real mix of emotions! I loved the author’s writing style and will definitely be looking at more of her work. If you like your romance with added music and hope, this is for you!

I give Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington, 4 stars.

Music is Colbie’s life. She feels so much from it. Besides her daughter, it is the love of her life. But she still feels like a part of her is missing. Then her heart stops after a tragic accident and she meets the man she never realized she needed. She wants to stay with him, but he tells her she has much more to do, she has to go back. Can she thrive with her music and family and friends or is she just waiting for the end?

This was an interesting story. It is very moving, you may be teary-eyed at least a few times. It is also very well written. It is obvious the author poured her heart into this story. You will definitely see things differently once reading this. There is usually a reason people act as they do. You may even learn something you never knew. Colbie is a very strong lead character. She has had much happen to her, but she has survived. As much as I like Colbie, I would love to see more of the other characters that interested me so much in a possible series.

If you like moving books about life and love, this book is for you! But don’t forget the tissues!

Madigan becomes a reporter and Grace becomes a Criminal Investigator so when a woman is found dead in her home they are reconnected due to the crime. When a secret from their past comes out that is connected to this woman’s death will the traumatic past rip them apart or pull them closer together. Will they survive this horrible secret? This book is so good and if you love a good mystery this is your new read! Its awesome!

I enjoyed this romcom story and is my favorite yet by this author. I never hesitate to pick up one of this author’s books as I know that I am in for a good laugh, this one was no different. This is an opposite attracts story that is a fast paced story that left me turning pages. The characters made the story feel real and pop off the pages with their humor and banter. They will show you that opposites can attract and an HEA could be within their reach. Check it out, I highly recommend this book.

Michael’s Heart is an emotional story. You are going to cry at least once so have the tissues nearby. There isn’t too much to say regarding story line or it will ruin the outcome for you. I will say that the pertinent characters are memorable and are drawn together by the common thread of music as a soul language. I wasn’t really sure what to feel when I finished the book. Part of me recognizes the bright part of the ending, but it has an overtone of sadness as well. I suppose that makes the story more like real life when it comes down to it. Regardless, if you are in the mood to feel a myriad of emotions in a short period of time, check out this story.

Scarlet Fever (A Johnny Delarosa Thriller Book 1) by David Stever is a thriller mystery that had me hook, line and sinker and had me on the edge of my seat, sometimes with my heart jumping. This is reminiscent of old detectives/PI’s but in modern times which adds to the feel of the story. The PI and friends are smooth and well-seasoned and can spot trouble a mile away except that is where this case is taking them. David’s writing sucks you into the drama and the danger and takes you on a journey that is so vivid you feel like you are on the case with them. This gripping tale will have you thinking all the way through and just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, you were thrust somewhere else.

Johnny takes on a case with nothing more than a couple of names and a huge retainer. But little does he know that this case would take him to the seedier side of life and perhaps come out with
his life, or not!

This is my first read by David and I enjoyed it so much that I look forward to more from Johnny and his buddies.

If you like good old fashioned detective stories with a modern twist then this is one book you should grab on to and enjoy the ride.

The Girls Across the Bay was a great read from a new to me author! I will admit that it did take me a little time to get into the story and it was slower in parts than others but I will still on the edge of seat at times and I wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen. I won’t say that this was an easy read; I read it slower than I would normally just so I could fully understand what was going on but the storyline was really strong in my opinion. I liked that the author had chosen to write from multiple points of view, it really enabled me to understand what the characters were thinking and why they did what they did.
I will be looking forward to seeing where the author takes this series; I can definitely see it getting better and better! Overall a decent 4 star read that I would recommend!

Crime thriller’s aren’t usually my type of read however I had seen a lot of recommendations for the story saying how good it was so I thought that I would give it a go and I am so glad I did – the story was really good! I was hooked straight away by the authors imaginative and creative writing style – it is one of those stories that you can easily imagine being made into a movie. I really liked the characters – I thought that they were well thought out and developed well over the story. There were some good twists and turns in the story too which made it very unpredictable!
This book is a definite must read for any crime fans and also for anyone looking for a little something different to read – I highly recommend it!

This was an amazing story, full of intrigue and suspense.

Johnny Delarosa is a retired police detective turned Private Detective when he retired.

Johnny was hired by Claire to find a missing 2 million dollars that her mother told her was hers.

So starts a adventure full of twists and turns as Delarosa trys to solve a 30 year old mystery. However, things are what they seem and people arent who they claim to be which makes his job even harder.

This book will have you gripped from page 1.
