Wow! What an excellent book! This author continues to enthrall and fascinate me with her characters and storylines. I never knew what to expect with this book and found myself riding a rollercoaster of emotion. It was another book I simply couldn’t put down. Definitely recommend – you simply must read this book!

C.A. King is a magical storyteller. I just can’t get enough of her stories and every time that I see a new release of hers on my feed or a coming soon it is an auto-buy. No questions asked, no need to read what it is even about. Truly Unfortunate is no exception to the rule. I was blown away when I got a peek at this cover for the first time. I knew the world that King was going to take me to was going to be one that I wouldn’t want to leave.
The story behind that gorgeous eye-catching cover is quite possibly one of my favorite novels that I have read by King. This is one twist psychological thriller. I know for sure that I didn’t want to put it down, and I was thrilled to learn that there will be more to come in this series. When King builds a world for the reader, it is from the ground up and down to the very way that you would think the atmosphere feels and smells. I love how I feel transformed into the place the character is is when I am reading and in Truly Unfortunate, this was once again the case.
I am struggling with how to share things about the plot of this book and not spoil it too much for the reader. There is a few things though, expect the unexpected. Go into this novel with an open mind and be ready to learn a few things, perhaps about yourself.
Truly has no memories of her youth, her formative years. There is something missing and it has to be for a good reason is all the doctors can think. All of a sudden there are a bunch of unexplained deaths occurring around her, and its people that she knows!
A local cop on the case,Jeff, is convinced that there is more to the story than meets the eye. He is determined to get to the bottom of it and make the case just like he has always dreamed of doing. But is this all in his imagination?
Just when you think you know what is going on there is a few twist that you do not see coming, ones that will make you read this well past your bedtime! I know I did, and I still am left hanging wondering so many questions. I can’t hardly wait for book two! Thank you so much for the great read CA King!

Man this book was perfect. Frank was a typical guy to me with a very nonchalant personality. But inside he was a big softie. I really enjoyed the authors sense of humor. Mikey and Frank were so perfect for each other. They have what I use to have with my ex. Their relationship was fun and easy. Don’t get me wrong there were moments that it was rocky. But they made it work and that is all that matters. Mikey had a unique personality. Most women are not so blunt and open as she is. She was so comfortable and confident with who she is that she wasn’t too afraid to let Frank in. Frank on the other hand was level 10 clingy which surprised me because it didn’t fit his personality that he portrayed. Overall I couldn’t get enough of this couple. They were funny and loving but they also learned and grew with each other. I will definitely be reading more from this author if she infuses the same lightness and joy in all her books. Holy Moly!! I LOVED this book! This is the first book in the Killmore series and I cannot wait to read the next one. My heart was racing while I was at the edge of my seat waiting to turn the next page and see what would happen next. It was action packed and suspenseful and I couldn’t get enough of it. I loved Laurie. She was an awesome FMC. I liked Aiden too but I never was sure if he could be trusted. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. Review by Anastasia D.
There is just so many good things to rave about with Once Upon a Romance from Alex Bailey! I must first start with that gorgeous cover! It screamed pick me up, you will find a swoony prince and a hapless princess who doesn’t know her worth somewhere amongst the storyline, much like one of my favorite tales of all time, Cinderella, or better yet a Disney love story in general is a theme that is ever present throughout Once Upon a Romance. I adored that theme and this was also collectively portrayed in the cover.
The Disney theme is strong in other ways throughout the book, even in the character names. I really loved how this author was able to bring to life the characters that I so loved and my kiddo loved, but in a new and older, reimagined and modern way. This isn’t your classic fairytale, but rather with a twist that will keep you swooning and on your toes from the very first page till the end. I was so excited to learn that this novel is book one of a series so there will be more to come as well!

The Changeup, by Mary Billiter, is a romantic suspense. This sixth novel fit perfectly within the A Resort Romance series. I adored the character names, they were fun to add in with the hilarious, suspenseful, intriguing and drama filled moments of the story. Rebel’s character was, by far, the best in this novel – something about her character shined thoroughly through. It could have been her witty nature or her personal set of morals/ethics, but it was unique. Then Ryan! Oh my goodness, the nickname he is graced with, its fabulous nickname! There are memorable characters in this book that just make it so good, entertaining and a must read! Not only do you get suspense within this story, the author gives you a bit more and delivers.

Deborah Garland’s Must Be Crazy is the third installment in the Darling Cove series. This contemporary romance features Skye Mallory, her quirks, faults and possibly a happily ever after? I fell in love with this series with the first book, Must Love Fashion. Each book has featured a separate couple, but they each overflow to some extent to the subsequent stories. Must Be Crazy is my favorite from the series so far. Skye is a strong character, but inside, she’s fractured and trying to hold herself together. The ultimate question, is how long that will last and what will happen when that final seal breaks? Add in a seriously charming male, the possibilities are endless. The back history that is shared with the present tense of the story was well played, not pushing the story into the far left field. There were definitely some character(s) I enjoyed not liking, but they gave the story that additional mix to create a well rounded tale.

An Agreement, by Lindsay Marie Miller, is the third book in the Summer in New York series. This contemporary romance story was a reading pleasure. I easily feel into the story within the first chapter. Something about Bailey just immediately drew me in. The opening scenes were fun, entertaining and just what you expect from a talented author. I really liked how the author played with the friendly banter, attraction, emotional hills/valleys that you would encounter with a friends/lovers theme. Both Bailey and Carter have insecurities within their lives that deter them from certain choices; the author handled these within the story with style allowing it to flow seamlessly within the story rather than feeling misplaced.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You, #1) by Brittany Anne was a raw, too real, feels gripping, post-apocalyptic read, that had me hooked from start to finish.
Wow what a read! My first read by this author and I am impressed, more than impressed I just found a treasure and I need more. This sci-fi dystopian read is unique, original and it is hooking. The tone, and writing rhythm has a oomph that instantly pulls you into the story. It’s been awhile since a dystopian has hooked me like this, and it has rekindled a lost love that I didn’t know was gone.
Told in multi POV we get this tale from both our MC’s, and seeing it that way, especially this type of romance, really adds na extra layer of realism, and gets you more connected to this characters. There is a weird magic about it, and frankly I believe that all romance no matter what genre should be told in dual POV. It’s proven in the way this story was executed.
Now outside of the love plot the world building was pretty freaking cool. It paints a devastating picture of what could happen if we lose our insta world connecting, electricity and satellites. It makes you feel the dread, and adds a very dark and gritty element, making the love plot that much more raw and compelling.
Overall this book is a must read, it has everything you’ve been wanting in a, or better yet it has everything you didn’t know you wanted in a post-apocalyptic romance, that may be doomed before it even starts. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will not be able to put this book down once you start.

Burning Night: Where the Ashes of the Past Awaken the Future by Nikki Broadwell 4 out of 5 stars
First, What a beautiful cover! This contemporary novel was both profound and heart breaking. Collie is running from an abusive relationship. It was interesting watching her grow into her power and into her womanhood throughout this book. I loved the development that this book brought to her character. She is a very complex character, yet at her core, she is simple, heartfelt and passionate. Collie is making her way to a festival called Burning Night, which she believes is an answer to all of her prayers.
This book is emotionally charged. I had, at times, a very difficult time getting through portions of the book without wanting to break down and cry. Collie is strong. So very, very strong. Ms Broadwell has written an amazing character with vivid details. I HIGHLY recommend this book, but want to let you know that this will seriously pull at your heart strings.

Killmore (Killmore #1) by Martha Sweeney was a intense, gripping read that pulls you in.
My first read by this author and for this series. I know right, I’m starting at the first book, go me. If you follow my reviews you know I tend to not, start at the first book. It’s a strange weird habit that I’m trying to kick. But enough about that, let’s get into why you’re here. This book, and my thoughts.
A rather different read for me, though I do love action, I’ve never really dove too much into that actual book genera. So saying that this was a bit out of my comfort zone isn’t a stretch. I’m a bit mixed on this book. Pacing was a issue for me. I like my action thrillers fast, urgent and dangerous. This book was lacking the first two. It starts out with that dangerous urgency, but it tapers off and it falls into a lull, before it picks up, then lulls again. I don’t know if it was done to up the page count, but parts of this book could be chopped down to make a more cohesive read. There are some structural issues as well, choppy or confusing dialogue and, sometimes I wasn’t sure what the characters were feeling while talking, they were simply talking.
Other then that, the actual plot and MC were great. I very much like our MC, she was strong, fierce and a tad bit nuts. She was a no BS type person and I liked her style. The plot, was complex, twisty and dangerous. It had a nice darkness to it that kept the story edgy and gritty. Plus there is some hot, fan worthy, sexual tension that adds that something extra, to round out the story. And the ending.. cliffy. Why you got to do that? The next book is a must read, cause I need to know what happens!
Overall, though I’m a little mixed I do highly recommend you give this book a chance. A vastly original and unique read, it’s a little bit of a hidden gem, you just got to brush off the filler to see the excellent story hidden within.
My Free Life is the last book in the My Life Series by Necie Navone. It continues telling the story of Alessandra, in her path to freedom. It must be read following My Hidden Life and My Tragic Life, in order to get the full story. This book, like the previous 2, was amazing and full of twists and turns keeping me hooked from start to finish. However, I was left hanging, and now need to move onto the Brother of Camelot series, so I can know if Aless gets her happily ever after. While this book is listed as part of a prequel, I believe it’s strong enough to be a series of its own. The characters are written so well, with emotions and relationships you can feel. I developed feelings for the characters and felt anger, love, loss, fear right along with them. The story and background are solid and realistic. I honestly enjoyed this series so much, and would love to see it turn into a movie! So highly recommend to everyone.

F*cking Frank was a great 5 star read and book one in the Smirk Series.
I was pulled in right away and was LOL so many times. I absolutely love Frank and his (no pun intended) frankness. He tells it like it is and has no filters.
People suck, or most people do. But the most important lesson was to choose your friends carefully and do not trust easily. – Frank
When Frank and the band go to the winery for their summer gig, they meet Mikey. And oh my gosh if she isn’t made for Frank no one is, these two were like twins on everything. Mikey is like a female Frank to a tee and when she sees something she wants she’s not shy about it. These two are sassy, strong, straight forward and so much more. I loved them.
Can they keep things professional or will they give into their attraction? Has Frank finally found THE ONE?
There is so much more to this great read. All of the secondary characters were great, I look forward to reading more from this series. This read was so refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a friend very similar to Frank so it felt like I was reading his story. Jen has once again given me another great story to read, I’m excited to read the rest of the series.

This is a cumulative read that you will want to devour after you have had the chance to read the journey the characters have gone on to get here. If the answer is yes, then please continue with the novel and this review. You won’t want to miss a moment of the fabulous five star writing you will read.
In Finding Felicity we are revisiting some if my favorite Rogue family characters, Felicity and the ever handsome man candy Connor. They are in a new stage of life together and adjusting to new roles as parents, and just in general with the stage of life they are in as adults.
Connor has been dealing with his own demons. His father has caused him some great stress. I don’t want to divulge too many details on that, but he certainly doesn’t go to the one person he should about it.
Felicity has found herself in a great rut of postpartum depression. A topic that most moms are very afraid to talk about ever. This was something I loved seeing the author tackle, and she did so with great class and grace. I was super impressed. I hope this reaches women who suffer from this as much as it did with me. Felicity really does some soul searching in this novel and it was great reading material. I had a hard time wanting to put this book down, let alone wanting it to end. The only solace is know this series isn’t over just yet. I will be anxious to see what else will come for the Rouge family.

F*cking Frank is Book 1 in the Smirk Series from author Jen Luerssen. This was my first read from this author and boy, oh boy was it a brilliant introduction in this author’s writing style and series. From the moment you open this book or even when you read this book’s synopsis you are physically laughing out loud, from start until the very end! This was a light-hearted comedy romance that keeps you captivated until the end. It was a smooth flowing easy read, that was a pleasure to read!
I loved the similarities in each character from the clothes, to the tattoos, and attitudes yet both of them are there own individual person. The connection that our main characters Frank & Mikey had was off the charts, and it was made even better by their interactions together and banter they would have. Throughout the book I was rooting for them, they had something special that I hoped they could pursue.
Another thing that stands out in this read is the secondary characters, all of them stand out in their own way, and the interactions they have with Frank really help push the story along. But now for the part that stands out most to me, I love reading books that are from POVs, but I have never read one from a males POV for the entire read. It has got to be the best way to tell this story, if it was told any other way I don’t think it would be as great as what it was. It felt as though I was having a conversation with Frank, it was as though it was directed at me, and it made this read even better!
If you are looking for a read that makes you laugh, has romance and has a hot guy and an amazing female then this is the book for you, do not miss it!

Distant Memory: She Remembered Everything by Colleen S. Myers is the third book in the Solum series. This is a series that ideally needs to be read in order as it follows the same characters and the same story all the way through. We are taken back into Beta’s world where she finally learns everything she had once forgotten. The book is as gripping and fast paced as the previous two have been. The author takes you on the journey with the characters. The whole way through I felt so invested in what was happening to them. I really hope this isn’t the last of this series because it really has been a fantastic read.

F*cking Frank by Jen Luerssen is the first book in the Smirk series. This book will have you laughing all the way through. Even the blurb had me chuckling to myself so I knew I would enjoy the book. I loved the fact that it was told from Frank’s POV. I have only ever read one other book like that in the romantic comedy genre and it is sub a refreshing take. I think that is why I also found it so funny – I can just imagine so many guys thinking the way Frank does. This was a fantastic book and one I can highly recommend.

Truly Unfortunate by C.A.King is a must read! I’ve yet to read a book by this author that I don’t love. She’s a truly phenomenal author whose stories always pull me right in from the get go. This is the first book in the new Welcome to Knollville series, it’s a dark and twisted paranormal thriller type of read!
This storyline is highly captivating! I intended to read only a few chapters and somehow I made it all the way to the end as I got so swept up into the storyline. Truly was so intriguing and mysterious and I found myself trying to piece it all together yet I was unable to do so, which was find by me.
I would highly recommend this book to others, it’s one that should not be missed!

Killmore is a phenomenal must read book by Martha Sweeney. It’s the first book in the Killmore series, and what a great start it is! This story had me hooked from the first chapter and I was intrigued the whole way through. This story follows Laurie, aka, Pix as she goes through the motions of life in her one of a kind situation.
I really enjoyed the length of this book and how well rounded the story was! While I couldn’t relate to Laurie I was able to connect with her which made this book even more enjoyable. Martha has created a world that really intrigued me and I can’t wait to dive into book 2!

Cowboy: Claimed box set was definitely an enjoyable read. All of these authors are brand new to me so it was nice to get a taste of each of their writing styles. I love how each story had something for everyone. There were sweet, new beginnings, twists, and of course passion and romance. There was a cowboy for everyone.
Each story had a way of sucking you in. I definitely had issues putting down my book to get stuff done. All I want to do was read and not get on with my real life. The book is about 500 pages so each story is a quick read. I’d say this is the perfect weekend read
As for the authors, They did a phenomenal job collaborating together. Each story was different from the last and their writing was superb. This was an introduction for me to their work and I’ve already started one-clicking their books and I’m looking forward into diving into their works

The First Backwards Christmas by Brooke Williams. This was the best short book I’ve read in a long time. Its the story of Jack Furst & Joyce Nicholson. Jack is a sled dog trainer and loves his dogs, his girlfriend Joyce and his little town of South Pole Alaska. The only problem is South Pole is on the verge of being a ghost town. In fact at the last town meeting the Mayor resigned to move to the lower 48 so the town is now without a Mayor. Joyce & Jack are trying so hard to keep South Pole going and Jack decides to run for mayor so he will have more control over things. The Christmas Celebration is one for the books. Will it be enough to save South Pole and keep Jack & Joyce together? This book got me into the holiday spirit!

The Changeup ( A Resort Romance Novel Book 6) by Mary Billiter. This is such a sweet story about Rebel Roberts & Ryan McHenry. Rebel is in the Witness Protection Program and has been moved to Long Beach from Wyoming. She’s a strong willed woman. She becomes a hotel conference services manager trying to keep a low profile and Ryan is trying to become a deputy sheriff but in the meantime is a delivery guy. Confession: I love love love this author and she is an auto one-click for me. I think this might be the best book yet (and yes, I’m aware I’ve said that about all of her books).
I’m not going to tell you anything about this story except that it’s a story of a woman (girl) whose name is TRULY.
It’s a fast paced book that moves along quickly. I easily devoured it in a few hours. It is visually written and while I read it yesterday, it is still sitting with me today. I have questions that may or may not be answered in future installments of this series. It is a clean story and I’m not even sure there were any swears in it.

I always wanted to know more about the elusive Mouse in all the other Satan’s Devils books. He has always played a large roll yet was the one I knew the least about.
This was an awesome addition to this series, a series that Ive become completely invested in, you absolutely never know what might happen in these stories and thats some of my favorite reading.
I have a tendency to lose interest in long series, but this one being #9 feels just as fresh as the first one and that is because of the way this author writes about things that are relevant and makes everything feel so real.
This book went way past the romance and dealt with deeper issues that are part of our real life today, I applaud this author for writing it so perfectly. I love this series and truly can’t wait to someday sit and read them all back to back. I love the characters in all of these books and the family they have formed. This isn’t just another MC club, it’s always felt deeper than that.
Love it and highly recommend, and this could actually be read as a stand alone but I can’t imagine not having all the previous stories in my mind while reading…

Ok so this was an awesome book, it was easy to read and I did it in one sitting. It was fun and had me laughing out loud in many parts and then proceeded to get a bit more intense allowing me to become emotionally invested in the story.
Gabrielle was just plain perfect and everything I love in a leading lady…Her sassiness totally floored me and her and Maria together…OMG awesome…In comes Conner and his and Gabrielle’s first meeting was to die for funny…and the dialogue during this first meeting coming out of Gabrielle had me rolling.
The scenes with Conner’s “Mother” had me all kinds of messed up and I won’t tell you why that is…You have to read it to believe it.
I wish I could go into more detail about this story but I just can’t..It wouldn’t be fair, just know that I highly recommend everyone read this book.
This is my first read by this author, and if this one is anything to go by then I’ll be reading everything she has available and that which she comes out with from here on.

A Must for Christmas : A Darling Cove Novella By Deborah Garland 5/5 Stars
Deborah Garland has done it yet again! This is a beautiful story about love and hope.. a love so profound and deep, it makes you envious! And to top it off, it’s a Christmas story. Who in the world doesn’t love one of those ?? I do think Greg and Faith are my favorite couple of the entire series. I’m not exactly sure why… but I think maybe because they have such an intense love for one another. They’ve known from a young age, that they belong together. But yet didn’t give up on that love, even when life threw them curveballs and tore them apart. Sometimes, love is worth waiting for!! Faith’s pregnancy doesn’t go as planned … it never does, when carrying two precious baby boys. Early labor and complications make life chaotic and scary. Will they get the Christmas miracle they so desperately deserve? Dang it, Deborah… this story made me so emotional!! I love a wonderful love story!! And to top it off… a Christmas love story!! Love love love!! Outstanding job!! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next !!

Dangerous Ground by Alice Rachel a five-star read you need to devour. This is Tina and Chase’s story, the fifth story in the Under Ground series and what a story they have, and what a series, do yourself a favour and read them all as they build on each other and you get little details that will make it a much deeper read. The whole series has been great but this one just tugged that much harder on my heart strings. The whole set us of the class systems, the food shortage and way of life just seemed that much realer in this one, I just seemed to absorb this book so much better.

Burning Night: Where the Ashes of the Past Awaken the Future By Nikki Broadwell Rated 5 stars
This is a great story! The writing is so smooth and it dragged me into the story. I had concern for Callie as well as I enjoyed her adventure into the wilderness. These are real places so I could easily identified with them and it made her more of a relatable character.
The characters are full of flavor and life. I enjoyed seeing/meeting them and often wondered how they were going to fare by the stories end. The main character is a strong but undecided in her future. She has many irons in the fire. I enjoyed her spiritual adventure as well as her physical journey. The things she did and saw was simply amazing! Kudos to her for taking control!
This is my second book by this author. I enjoy her writing style. She engages me fairly quickly. Her characters have life and style. They cause me to *feel* for them and care about what happens to them. This is a simply wonderful story that I would recommend to anyone.

What a read. I could not put this book down once I started. I don’t want to give any of the story away as it is a must read and best found out as you read, Laurie aka Leia, is in FBI witness protection. But what happens when your past comes back to your new future? Laurie keeps to herself, doesn’t keep the same schedule everyday, and only has a handful of those she interacts with on a personal level. But she knows one thing for sure, she will never trust a man outside the bedroom. I am now on to the next one, as that ending had me needing more.
F*cking Frank is the first book in Jen Luerssen’s Smirk Series. The book is a steamy hot romance, that I only recommend to those over the age of 18, because it sure is erotic. The story is about Frank, a down right prick at the best of times, and a man that could give the Grinch a run for his money. All the man wants to do is make sweet music and surf the perfect wave. Until her meets his doppelgänger in female form, Mikey. She is his identical twin from another bin. The similarities at first turn them on in a narcissistic kind of way, before they begin to get uncanny and slightly unsettling. I found the story overall to be very engaging and entertaining. It was well written and the two main characters were believable, they just weren’t my cup of tea. I think it was because they were so believable that I couldn’t relate to them or feel empathetic of their situation. They became real people in my head, that I knew I would never associate with, because of how they treat their friends and interact with other people. I still thought the story was very entertaining and an enjoyable read, but for once I could not sympathize with a main character; purely based on my own personal preferences. I still recommend the book to friends who enjoy characters like Frank, that have very dry humor and break the fourth wall. Overall I gave F*cking Frank 3/5 stars.
