Ooh, I loved this book. It continues the romance of Zachary and Ashton. Life brought some challenges but they got through it. This couple is so hot as a Dom/Sub pair. Ashton is still a strong woman and they make this work. I liked reading more of their relationship. They had challenges yet make it work. This author does such a wonderful job writing that she really has you feeling the story as you go along. I can’t wait to read the next book.
“The Hidden Present (Invisible Magic Wand)” by Lois Wickstrom is a delightful and heartwarming story about a boy named Caspian who receives a mysterious gift from his Grandpa on his Unbirthday. The story captures the magic and wonder of childhood, as Caspian goes on a hunt to find his hidden present with the help of an Inquisitive Indicator.
The relationship between Caspian and his Grandpa is beautifully portrayed, depicting a bond built on love and shared experiences. The author does a wonderful job of creating a sense of anticipation and excitement as Caspian searches for his gift, keeping readers engaged and invested in the outcome.
I highly enjoyed following Trueman “True” North to find the true murderer of Stoddard Skidmore. As True digs into the case with his investigation skills he realizes that it isn’t quite as open and shut as it seems. Not only is there a compelling murder, but the reader also gets to learn more about True and his backstory as well. The book is set in 1977 with some embellishments in historical details, which the author explains at the end. It is a dark crime mystery; the pacing of the story is fantastic. The clues are there for you to find out the murderer before the reveal, but the reason why is even more compelling. I personally won’t hesitate to pick up the next book in this series!

This is such a cute book. His unbirthday present is to be found and he gets to use a compass. Oh, what fun he has with grandpa. An entertaining story with bright, fun illustrations that will keep any child glued to the story. We love reading this series. Another welcome addition to our family library. It will also go well in the classroom.
This was an excellent read. I am such a fan of this series. They are hot, sexy and entertaining. The chemistry in this book is off the chart. No bro land is where we go this time. You shouldn’t go for your enemy’s little sister, but hey, do it anyway. The story is well-done. You can feel the heat. The characters have excellent chemistry. I love the spark factor. I couldn’t put the book down. This is one I highly recommend for romance lovers.

This continues the story from The Rise of Valdis. I would suggest you read the prequel and Book 1. The story is very good. The characters will hold your interest through the whole story. This is an amazing quick read. I fully enjoyed the characters and their development throughout the story. It has everything you would want in a romance. The push and pull of whether or not they want to take a chance on love again. There is medical jargon that allows you to feel the presence of what they are doing but isn’t so over the top that you don’t understand. It showed a depth of knowledge from the author but made it were anyone could read it and understand. I loved that, I am by no means in the medical field and felt completely confident in what was happening. It does have a lot of super sweet mushy romance in the beginning with endearment that I wasn’t sure I could read the whole thing if it was like that. Then you turn the page and all of sudden there is a suspense plot line that I didn’t see coming. It is amazing to be able to have the romance and the suspense in such a way that you don’t want to put the book down. This read was super quick and I loved every minute of it. This is the 6th book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I have read others in this series so I knew a little of what to expect. Having said that, this was a really fresh take on a story line that I didn’t see coming and I enjoyed every minute of it. This was an excellent read. an exciting, suspenseful read that brings back “Harry” who meets Trey. She wants in and he wants out. I found the characters to have a terrific chemistry. Though there was danger around and in, the humor was also in the story. I laughed through a lot of it. It was a funny story with suspense and romance that I would definitely recommend. I will be going back to read the previous two.

The Mating Chance is the third captivating book in the Long Claw Pride series by Brooke May. As with the other books in the series, this follows members of the Long Claw Clan, a mountain lion shifter community- and makes for fantastic reading. This ca could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the series from the beginning as the stories are worth it- plus there are other relevant bits that will help you fully appreciate the series as a whole. We follow Boone and Cricket on a bit of a second chance, fated mates, paranormal romance- where Ms. May delivers all the emotion, angst, banter, humour, fun, drama, family, community, destiny, secrets, discovery, challenges, chemistry, and spice. As with all her characters, it was easy to invest in them and the outcome of their story. I was rooting for them, even if they frustrated me at times. If you love paranormal romances, particularly shifters- then this is well worth the read! Bring on Book #4! Happy Reading…

I found this book to be so cute and fun! It walks you through a mystery Lunar New Year adventure with Lorie and Weina. The girls have lost their lucky new year red envelopes that they have been saving up to replace a bracelet for their grandma. This book keeps you on your toes while you follow the girls along their day and also trying to find said missing envelopes. I loved seeing another side of Asian American culture and the different things that they do/celebrate compared to my own family. This book had my children hooked while we followed the girls back through their day. The traditions and holiday excitement was so fun. I really enjoyed the simple illustrations as well. My girls 9 and 12 both enjoyed reading this book with me and learning about others. It also lined up with their cultural days at school so they learned so much this week!
Detective Dylan, Emily and Theodore the family dog are back at it. They never leave home without Dylan’s Detective Kit. But this time they are off to play baseball. Once they get to the ball field they notice the baseball plates are missing. So they go in search of the missing plates. First off let me put out there that this story is not only educational but brings together siblings. Yes this big brother enjoys spending time with his little sister. As for Emily she is a big help as the team works together. This author has done quite nicely in bringing these siblings together. This story is quite the page turner. It is captivating and interesting. The characters also play big parts in the story.They set a great example to our young readers. Also at the end of this chapter book there is a list of big words with explanations of the words and where to find them in the story. I love that! I love an open-ended story. This one is fantastic.

Reverse Harem GOLD. So, I will admit the cover is what pulled my interest in this one and with my goal of finding new to me authors Catherine Banks was a perfect new March author. This is the first book in Her Royal Harem: Ember trilogy and honestly, chefs kiss. Ember Jasperwood is a mage, but her mixed abilities with no obvious “hybrid” markers causes her very prejudiced community to look down on her. Not only them but her own parents. When her abilities began as a young child, they had her tested and sent to the best mage school but then gave her a cabin, 100 acres of land and a monthly salary as they cut communications with her. All Ember wants to do is be in the woods, her safe space and heal the animals, shifters, and hybrids that she finds or that are brought to her. Only all too soon does everything begin to change, strange magical rocks cover the riverbank, and cursed animals emerge from nowhere in hunt for her blood, the cure to their curse. Her patients become so much more as they choose to stay at her side and help her with these mysteries and more. The men quickly become curious of what else she is as she has a mix of powers that don’t belong to mages as well as not smelling like a mage, but something more. Who is the one who curses? Can Ember and friends find the truth behind the stones? Why is she being targeted? This world is so rich in details, taking real world problems and transforming them into more complex roles. From start to finish this book holds your attention, keeps you guessing and turning the page as you guess and trying to answer the questions of what is going on. I loved this story so much! From the very first chapter and all the way to the epilogue, I was drawn in and hooked. Bailey and Fox are two incredible characters that the reader gets to learn about and fall in love with as they learn to navigate their adventure together. So many different dynamics in the book were done so well and I didn’t want the story to end. Well done Amy Q Barker, this was a fantastic book, with a great romantic story without having to be over the top romance. This appears to be book 1 in the Better Man series and if that’s the case, I cannot wait to read the others!

When I picked up Nessie and the Celtic Maze I expected a children’s book, with lots of pictures, what I received though was a middle grade, short, novel, that didn’t have pictures. Although not what I expected I still really enjoyed the story. This is book number 3 in the series. I love Lois’s imaginative, engaging story writing.

Hay Goes Home is another wonderful addition in the Adventures of Cray childrens book series. This specific story is about Hay taking Cray home for her mother’s birthday. G pa talks about struggles throughout the journey, how it’s ok to ask for help if you need it, how you can rely on your friends, how to work together, and being brave. I enjoyed the beautiful illustrations along with the storyline and lessons that were able to be learned.

This was a very enjoyable book! Young readers who are learning to read in small chapters will love this story about Dylan and his little sister Emily. They are going to baseball practice and when they arrive, their coach explains that all the bases have been stolen. Dylan thought to grab his Youth Sleuth kit prior to leaving home so he and Emily are on the lookout for the stolen bases. They come across various groups of people in the park before finally locating the missing bases.
A super fun, adventurous book that features Theodore, who is Dylan and Emily’s dog. He’s also a part of their sleuthing team! It’s short enough to keep the attention of an emerging reader and would also make a great bedtime story!

Murder at Music Hall is the first book in the True North Murder Mystery series. I enjoyed it, and look forward to reading more from this series!
Trueman North has channeled his tragic past into a determination to find justice for victims of murder. He is focused and diligent, never taking the easy way out. Now retired as a detective and working as a PI, North has been hired by a man who believes that the wrong person was accused of his son’s murder. Now North must find the real killer, and why they did it, as well as proving that the man who was accused is innocent.
As North seeks insights into the victim’s life and death from a variety of sources, we get drip fed bits of information that may or may not lead to the murderer. Many characters have secrets, but not all of their secrets are clues. Some of the secrets are quite dark and may be triggering to some readers.
This is an engrossing read for mystery fans who enjoy a story that will make them think. I particularly enjoyed the orchestral setting as it’s fun getting to see behind the scenes at the orchestra. It gets four stars from me!

We were so excited to pick up another book by this author! I haven’t found anything I disliked about his books yet because he has such a way with words. Rhyming is great for kids, but I find myself bouncing along with the rhythm as well. Somehow, he created something that is part rhythmic fun and part valuable life lesson. The list of courage builders at the end was something I hadn’t seen before and made my kids add more ideas to their own courage lists! We all experience these big feelings like fear, panic, relief, and bravery, so to learn about it in a children’s book was fascinating! It should absolutely be focused on more with earlier development. The illustrations were icing on top of a delicious cake as well. I highly recommend sharing this with kiddos in your life whether that’s in your family or in your classroom!

This has been the cutest series we’ve read in a long time! This is the third book in the Nessie’s Grotto Series, and it is quite an entertaining adventure. Lois Wickstrom is one of our favorite authors, so my kids and I read this together with excitement. The way this world is portrayed is so magical and makes me wish we were part of it. You’re grabbed from the very first page and your attention is held throughout the entire book. We follow as we try to find Princess Sheona, who is Nessie’s Daughter. She’s stuck in a maze, and it seems like all hope is lost. Can Linda and Craig get to her in time? I highly recommend picking this up and enjoying it with the younger ones in your life!

This is the first book I have read by the author, K. Rose, and it was a pleasant, quick and fun read. While this is book 9 in the Silver Springs Pets Series, it is a standalone and the series can be read in any order.
The book has an unusual take on vampires that is quirky with a side of romance (reverse harem). Have you ever heard of a VEGAN vampire? No, I didn’t think so. On a horrible date, the FMC, Basil, is turned into a vampire and ends up in a supernatural sanctuary called Silver Springs. The FMC is a brilliant biomedical engineer and puts her skills to use to create a synthetic serum, so she does not need to drink blood – hence being vegan. I loved how creative this book was in every aspect, the plot, the world building, and the characters. At times it did remind me a tad bit of Twilight, specifically that the vampires are sparkly. I do wish that the FMC had more character development, but it was enough to still enjoy her character thoroughly.
This book will take your emotions on a rollercoaster – laughing out loud to crying. If you are looking for a quick quirky read that is drenched in spice, fated supernatural mates, glittery vampires, and full of adventure then I recommend you definitely pick this book up and read it! You will not be disappointed.

Hay Goes Home is Book Four in The Adventures of Cray Series. It is a children’s book told in rhymes that follows the adventures of Cray the Crab and his friends. On his latest adventure Cray is going with his friend Hay the Fox to Hay’s mom’s birthday party. To get there they need to travel through the woods, cross the river, and get through overgrown shrubs. They must overcome numerous obstacles along the way but thankfully they meet some new friends who help them. A beautiful story that teaches important lessons about friendship, teamwork, perseverance, courage, and the importance of asking for help. The bright and colorful illustrations really bring the story to life.

Lois Wickstrom has once again taken me back to being a young person. I so very much enjoyed this very adorable chapter book. It was full of amazing characters, a little mystery, friendship, loyalty, acceptance, and all the things that being a kid encompass. Lois has written the story so beautifully that illustrations aren’t necessary. If you’ve got a young person, ages 7-10 (or any age, really, if they’re interested, of course) I highly recommend this book (like allllll her other books) be added to your library. She is an amazing author.

Wow! I just LOVE these stories! This was just as thrilling as the previous in the series have been. I read this in a couple days. The story is action packed with a suspenseful side. This just Wowed me! I loved how we dive right in and the story really entranced me. The main characters are nothing short of extraordinary. Finlay is so confident and strong! She won’t let another push her around or treat her poorly. She is not afraid to stand up for herself and the way she finagles her way in and out of tight spots is impressive. Drake is one of the team we learn a bit about in here. He basically has one job to do but does not realize who he is up against. Then he has to reassess the whole situation.
Secondary characters are plentiful. They all had a purpose and they served it well. My only issue is it seemed that once they were off-page they disappeared to either never be heard from again or until their purpose was served. I get the main storyline is about whats going on between the MC but a line stating they made it to safety or something would have sufficed.
Overall this is an exciting and thrilling adventure we tag along on. I look forward to more in this series!
This is the 2nd book in the House of Valdis series and we get a little more of Xenobia’s backstory. You really do need to read the prequel and the 1st book in order to fully understand what’s going on as we pick up roughly 6 months after the 1st book ends. I love the multiple POV’s we get in each chapter as it really allows you to relate to the different characters and gain insights that you otherwise wouldn’t have. This is a quick read and I can’t wait to see what Valkyrie has in store for Xenobia in the future.

This was a really intriguing and interesting read. It is a mixture of a crime, mafia, and romance all mixed together to create a unique story that I couldn’t put down. The author does an really great job with the characters as well. I loved Harriett. My heart went out to her as she struggles with things from her past as well as struggling with losing her father in the line of duty. She is on a mission to find out who murdered her father and knows she has to infiltrate the crime family to find the answers she is looking for. With her background and experiences she thinks this will be a walk in the park what she doesn’t expect is Trey.
Trey is part of the crime family and is set on working his way to the top. The chemistry between Harriett (Harry) and Trey is sizzling and could end up getting them both burnt. Harriett really wants him to change she believes it’s not too late for him to change but is she right? Could she be placing herself into a dangerous situation emotionally as well as physically?
This is a story filled with twists and turns, danger and intrigue. It is fast paced and I couldn’t put it down. I had to know whether Harriett solves the mystery of her father’s death and saves the man she is attracted to or if she will end up losing everything. This is a great read.

This was a good read. I particularly connected with how life unfolds as you are facing down turning 40. This was an emotional book packed with lots of things that trigger tears. The amount of depth the author put into creating a woven plot without being cumbersome was impressive. I enjoyed the characters and felt their relationships to be authentic.
