This is the third installment in the Nessie series and it is my personal favorite! Craig and Linda’s parents have decided to vacation in Canada this year and stay away from Loch Ness. However, they still manage to get wrapped up in another Nessie adventure when her daughter needs their help navigating a dilapidated underwater maze. I love Wickstrom’s writing and the continuation of the storyline. I can’t wait to see where she’ll take us next!

This was a brilliant finish to an absolutely fantastic series. I am sorry to see it end. I am so over the moon for Roy and CC. James did not deserve what Sam did at the restaurant. I was shocked!! I am going to miss this family like old friends.
James has been with Sam for a while and even though things have been strained lately, James is ready to take it to the next level. He plans a romantic dinner. Sam is late. It does not go the way James planned. When he leaves the restaurant, James goes home alone and Sam heads off to live her dream. James decides he is swearing off love for a while. And it works for about a minute until James is yelled at by a mystery woman that sets his heart aflutter.
Sara is a traveling nurse. She takes on a job for several months up to a year, and then she moves on to a different location, different job. This has been her life for the last 9 years. She feels it works for her but her son is getting older and has started hating moving. Sara has many reasons to keep moving. Now she has taken a job caring for Roy Bennett. This leads to her having an interesting path crossing with James.
James finds a way to keep Sara close. James moves Sara and Noah, her son, out to the farm to get them out of the hotel where they were staying. The Bennett family envelopes Sara and Noah into their clan. This move even gives Roy a chance at romance!
Throughout the story, we wrap up some questions about what is going on with all the rest of the Bennetts. I think there is more Bennett together time in this book than in all the others. I am here for it. They are a great family. I am sad to wrap up my time with them. It has been a great ride!!

This was great story, the characters were quite entertaining , story was suspenseful with hint of comedy here and there. I give this book 4 stars.

Both have been through a lot and have scars but they’re each others healing balm and darn it they kept me on my toes 🤣 but they’ve got a special place in my heart 😉

I have read many of Lois Wickstrom’s picture books with my son. They have always been a hit with us. This is no different! This book was fun and witty. It kept my son’s attention (and mine as well). This book was a great adventure and flowed beautifully. Of course since it is a chapter book, it doesn’t have pictures. It’s all left up to your imagination. The job of an author is to weave details into the story so you feel like you are there with the characters. Lois did not disappoint!
Timmy Covert is a young man in sixth grade, he is currently staying with his Grandma while his parents are away and his life with her is slightly unusual, especially when he finds out that his Grandma has bought a rat called Hildegarde, but he doesn’t find out from her, he finds out when the little rat starts scraping the wall under his bed in the middle of the night, it also just happens that it is the same night as an earthquake hits Pillow, Pennsylvania, the town where Timmy lives with his Grandma!
As Timmy and his Grandma start to train Hildegarde, the neighbour next door starts acting in a suspicious way and so they decide to send Hildegarde in to see what is going on, so this is where Hildegarde’s training begins with earnest, but that is not the only thing, which is strange in Pillow, a mysterious woman who speaks German and an FBI agent turn up on the Covert’s doorstep asking questions and showing interest in strange things, not to mention that Timmy is still going to school and spending time with his friends and family all at the same time.
Will Timmy and his Grandma be able to train Hildegarde and make her some miniature spy equipment in time to solve the mystery of the earthquakes and the next-door neighbours’ antics? This is a cozy mystery with a cute animal and her reluctant trainer as you follow along through this tangled web and become a reluctant spy yourself.
Divinely Dramatic is the 2nd book in the Divine Vintage series by Sandra L. Young. The focus shifts to Marcy, the young assistant in Divine Vintage boutique who was a secondary character in the first book. This book can be read alone, but you will have a broader understanding of the skills displayed in this story if you have read the first book, Divine Vintage. As well as working two jobs and looking after her infirm mother, Marcy agrees to help with the costumes of a period-era play in the local community theatre as a favour to her friend Justine. Ever since she helped her friend (and boss) Tess solve a century-old supernatural murder mystery a couple of years ago, Marcy has been able to see auras although she is not always sure that she interprets them correctly. Whilst sorting out the costumes for the play, she sees a pulsing white light which leads to her and Tess investigating a 50-year-old mysterious death of an actress who died on opening night in the very play they were now producing. As well as everything else, the lead actress fails to arrive at rehearsals, leading to Marcy filling in, and then being offered the role by the attractive but grumpy director Mike, who only took on the directing job because he lost a bet with his mates. He is determined to have a successful show to show them up. Life becomes complicated with the attraction between Marcy and Mike because Mike has a beautiful but difficult girlfriend, and Marcy starts dating her co-star. Will Marcy be able to pull it all together to solve the mystery, put on a successful show, get her life together and get the man?! I really enjoyed this book. It seemed to be more modern than the first book and had a faster pace. I love Marcy and her eclectic fashion sense and discovering that Mike was a kind and generous soul under the gruff exterior. It was lovely to touch on characters from the first book to see how their life has progressed, but Marcy was definitely the focus of this book, along with the vintage fashions.

Murder at the Music Hall is the first book in A True North Murder Mystery Series by A. J. Ullman. It follows private detective Trueman North as he seeks to find a killer. Hired to by the family tonfind the true killer when the police have closed the case. If he succeeds, a grieving family will gain closure and an innocent man will be free. It was a good book setting up for what promises to be a enjoyable crime series.

Barker takes us through that journey and draws you into the characters and their world. I could not put this book down. There were so many emotions, all the laughs, tears and everything in between.

Once again the artwork is fantastic, really eye catching 🥰 I do love the little adventure that Cray goes on lol and how he and Hay got to meet all those cool other animals. They not only became friends with them all but the other animals helped teach them a valuable lesson along the way. I also enjoyed the list the author included at the end . I will definitely be trying it out. I truly look forward to reading more stories by this author 🥰 if you haven’t read any books yet I 10/10 recommend 🥰

There’s so many ways I could start this it took me a while to decide, so here it goes. I can’t believe the Bennett’s of Langston Falls Series is finished! 😕 It’s a series I enjoyed very much and someday plan to read the whole thing again. I’m still partial to the 2nd book being my favorite however Fearless Love is a very close runner up. James finally got his story, and it definitely didn’t start how I expected it to go. This book picks up right where book 4 ends. Which to me I thought was like okay why, I thought he’s been in an established relationship since book 1 we just never got a back story. Unfortunately that’s not how this story goes. Sam left James. Good riddance for leading him on. And it leaves James in a funk that’s not good to be in. Especially with his recovering father who is about to come home from the hospital. Of course if you read these books you know this is a tight knit family so it’s not just James, he just doesn’t want to bring them down. Adjusting to the new norm of an empty home and moving on, he never expected his dad’s care nurse and her son to come barreling into his life. Sara and Noah are headed to a new home. Why because Sara has a new job to take care of Mr.Bennett. Unfortunately she has a disappointed son, who all he wanted for his 8th birthday was a party with friends. He didn’t understand why they couldn’t have waited a week to move. Sarah still promises him anyway that’s exactly what he’s going to have. When it ends up a bust, she’s disappointed and feels she failed her son. What she didn’t expect was James and the band of Bennett’s to swoop in and not only make his wish come true but make her feel welcome as well. Leading him to some brownie points with her. The way he is with her son is one of the things that draws her to him. But will it be enough? Can he accept another man’s child, since they are a package deal? This book plays out exactly like the books in this series. There’s the meet cute. They get to know you and drama. And the conclusion. It’s just the context of how the story is told and the conclusion of what will really happen that keeps the reader involved. Across these books you grow to love this family. Despite everything they’ve been through. This book even has a little extra towards the end for their widower father as well. I’ll miss this place and these characters but like I said early on I’ll read it again. Put it away for a while and when I find it again be just as excited to jump back into book 1. If you’ve read the 1st 4 books, gear up for a wonderful finale. If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?!? Go find yourself book 1 trust me when I say that’s the best place to start!

Shadowed Deception is the third book in the Shadow Defense Security series by Mavery Ellscott. I have been really enjoying this series, so there was no question whether I would be reading this instalment or not. I dove in as soon as it hit my Kindle and lost myself in the story for a few hours. I felt this book amped things up a bit, and for me, it deemed like it was a bit edgier with more darker tones than the previous two books had- which I loved. It is a thrilling romantic suspense with danger, dramatic developments, tension, chemistry, agendas, action, mystery, the shadowy underworld of human trafficking, emotion, adventure, twists, secrets, lies, deception, layers, interesting characters, a web of intrigue, and steam — which all added up to a very engrossing read….. and (the book/series) would translate well onto the screen as well, making for a great movie. I can’t wait to see where we go from here! Happy Reading…

This was a fun read about a boy named Timothy who finds a rat under his bed. He’s afraid of his grandmother finding it and screaming so he’s doing everything he can to get it out of the house. Grandma already knows about the rat though and she’s telling Timothy how this is a special rat. Hildegard is going to take them on adventures and help solve a mystery plaguing the community.
This is a longer read by this author. An emerging chapter reader could easily follow along with this book. There are a few German words scattered throughout, which is a great way to garner interest in a new language. True to this author’s style, there are also STEM components in this story.

I was not prepared for the story that is Basil! The curvy biochemist, Basil, becomes a sparkly, vegan vampire. Once she figures out how to survive with her dietary restrictions, a whole new adventure begins. Basil’s mates (yes, plural) are supernatural beings that I honestly never would have thought of, but am completely on board for. K. Rose delivers romance, drama, humor, a little suspense, and a whole lot of entertainment! The characters are so unique and delightful and I couldn’t help but fall in love with them! With plenty of steamy moments between Basil and her 3 men, there was still a plot involved as well. The world building was fun and colorful and transported the reader to the supernatural community of Silver Springs. Basil is part of the multi-author series, Silver Springs Pets. I haven’t read any of the other books, but may have to check them out. And I will definitely be looking for more books by K. Rose.

Fearless Love: A Small Town Second Chance Single Mom Romance (The Bennetts of Langston Falls Book 5)
This book was the cherry on top of an amazing sundae. I fell in love with the Bennetts when we first met Teddy and the rest of the family and my love for this family has done nothing but grown over the years.
I always hate saying bye, but there was no better way to do than with James. He and Sara are just amazing together and add Noah to the mix and they are absolutely perfect.
James finds his happiness and Sara finds peace. What more could you ask for?
I’m going to miss the Bennetts and hope Ms. Fletcher treats us to more of her wonderful stories and characters.

Another great book in the Adventures of Cray book series. Cray the Crab and Hay the Fox go on a sweet adventure to get Hay to his mother’s birthday party. They face many obstacles along the way and get help from each other and from some friends. They also learn how to be brave and how to work together. This is a great book for early readers.

This book is another fantastic, adventurous piece written by this author. It has adventure along with teaching you something as well. The characters are relatable and like someone you would meet on the street. My daughter loves this author.
Nessie and the Celtic Spy is the third book in the Nessie’s Grotto Series. Cute book and interesting story about Craig and Linda and their quest to help Princess Sheona. The kids find quite the adventure between Canada and Scotland and the Celtic maze they must navigate to save the princess. This is a great book for children in the 7-12 age range. A fun story line, adventures with Nessie from Loch Ness, and so much more. I found this an entertaining story and I imagine children would love it, too.

Nessie and the Celtic Maze is Book Three in the Nessie’s Grotto series. This delightful children’s chapter book continues the adventures of siblings Craig and Linda, and Nessie, The Loch Ness Monster. Craig and Linda’s parents have taken them to Canada so they can be far away from Nessie. However, when the children learn that Nessie’s daughter, Princess Sheona is in trouble, they know they must find a way to save her. Luckily, there is a secret underwater passage that goes from Canada to Loch Ness. On the other side, in Scotland, is a young lad named Angus who is also trying to help Princess Sheona. Encouraged and supported by his mom, Angus learns to be brave. A cute story with whimsy, magic, mystery, adventure, and fun. A great addition to this series.

So this was my first foray to Silver Springs and I cannot wait to check out the rest of the stories! Basil was a fantastic character, I loved that she was intelligent and witty and refused to accept that she had to give up her vegan lifestyle, despite now being a vampire! She ends up in Silver Springs where she creates her own serum so she can continue her vegan life style and opens a juice bar and tanning salon. I loved the reverse harem and Basil getting 3 sexy mates. There were so many quirky and fun characters throughout the story, I definitely think is a great story and Silver Springs seems like a great place to live!

My family and I have read several picture books by this author, so we were extremely excited to see her branch out into chapter books. I was a little hesitant as picture books are quite different, but pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed this even more! My kids are 8 and 12, and I’m obviously a tad older, but we all gathered around and read this book in one day. I loved the cover immediately, and once I read the synopsis, I knew we were going on an adventure! The flow of the story is marvelous and seamless. I never felt jolted out by an oddly placed fact or chapter. This was such a fun and mysterious adventure where you’ll have a lot of questions that will absolutely get answered. I highly recommend picking this up for the younger ones in your life whether that’s in your family or in a classroom!
This is absolutely one of my favorite types of romance novels; we have our heroine, Bailey, who is successful and hardworking, while still being genuine and relatable. She is also raising her 2 daughters. Fox makes a really sweet and sexy main man, who is a hardworking dad of 2 boys. She and Fox work together, but until now, haven’t really had much interaction, but during a plane ride, sparks fly. I thought all of their interactions were so sweet and adorable. They are two caring and loving people, trying to navigate figuring out their relationship as well as the struggles with working together in a corporate world. This was a fairly quick read, but everything about it just struck the perfect notes. I also loved that it was told through both POV so we could see what both Bailey and Fox were thinking. An absolutely wonderful book for anyone who wants a sprinkle of romance in their lives.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I devoured it in one sitting. If you enjoy a spicy romantic fantasy with a bit of suspense then this is a book for you. I loved the character of Basil who was turned without her knowledge when she woke up in the hospital. I loved that she had a medical background and was able to use that knowledge to help herself.

My grandson and I loved this book. The message was right on point and sparked a conversation on asking for help when we need it. Even adults need this message as well. My grandson loved all the animals and how they worked together. The illustrations are so bright and vivid. Really grabs young readers to check out every page and talk about each one. Excellent book. We will be reading more from this author.

Hay Goes Home may be my favorite adventure of Cray yet. I loved the illustrations and the change in environment with woodland friends! As always, the book read smoothly and my seven year old loved reading it to me. I love that there is a lesson woven within the pages, in this case, don’t be afraid to ask for help! Another great read in a wonderful children’s series.
