Family Ties Family LiesFamily Ties Family Lies by Jacqueline Boulden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Family Ties Family Lies is different than many of the books I’ve read lately in genre but well worth reading. While the storyline was rich with emotion and dramatic, it was very well written. I was not sure how emotional the storyline would be having lost my mother a year and a half ago but the book had me engaged from the very first chapter. I liked the characters and felt like they grew together through unexpected twists. This was a great introduction to a new to me author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you’re looking for a little heat and spiciness, look no further. This book includes a number of sexy romance story collections that are steamy and short enough to keep you intrigued. I enjoyed some stories more than others depending on the point of view but that made this collection so brilliant because you will be onto the next story in no time. I wish some of these were much longer and more in depth characters but that’s not possible with short stories like these. You can read these all in one sitting or choose one per day. Either way you’ll be entertained.

I give this 4 out of 5 stars.

This is an amazing series. As soon as you start reading you are not going to want to put any of them down. Each of these books contain their own stories that are full of romance, friendship, second chances, drama, angst, and great characters. This author does a wonderful job pulling me into each story and keeping me captivated throughout. I recommend reading these books in order because there are some returning characters from previous books. I’m not going to give away anything from these 4 books, but I will say that you don’t want to miss out on this box set. I love this author’s writing style, I get completely invested in the characters’ story and their outcome. This series is definitely one that you can binge read. I highly recommend this series.

Everything in Elsbeth’s life is falling apart. Her long-term relationship is ending, she’s on the outs with her sister, Zara, her relationship with her mom is falling into further despair, and her dad’s on his last stretch of life. How much more can a girl take?

A letter comes in the mail and Elsbeth learns that she’s inherited property from her aunt in Guernsey. It’s across the ocean and a huge decision to make. There are so many loose ends at home that she’s not sure she can go, but ultimately decides to do it anyway. Upon arriving in Guernsey, she sees the house is not like she expected it to be.

This book will grab you from the first sentence. I read it one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are characters you will really love and ones that you will really hate. There is suspense and mystery, but most of all, redemption.

Charlotte's Control (The Control Series)Charlotte’s Control by Maggie Sims
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading this historical romance story. I enjoyed how the author used details to make her story as well as her characters come to life. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. The author’s attention to details made the story realistic and entertaining to read. This is a well written story about Charlotte and William. Charlotte finds herself not young enough and almost too old to marry. William is supposed to marry a young debutante until he meets a lonely widow who could change everything. Will they defy society to have a happy ever after? I enjoyed watching the growth of these two characters. They add so much to the story which makes it easy to read. They are strong, connectable characters with great chemistry and attraction. This is a fast paced story that you won’t soon forget. A hard to put down story that I highly recommend

Secrets of the Moon (Chronicles of the Lost Child Series) by Kristy Centeno – Review by Jenni Bishop

Secrets of the Moon (Chronicles of the Lost Child)Secrets of the Moon by Kristy Centeno
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 stars
Secrets of the Moon is a Paranormal, Young Adult/New Adult romance tale.
The story is told in single POV, but I would have loved it to be multiple POV it would have added and extra depth to the characters.
Secrets of the Moon is a paranormal story with secrets and lies, action and adventure, mayhem and madness, drama and suspense, thrills and tragedy, danger and let’s not forget the romance. This story that had me captivated from the very beginning. Kristy’s writing keeps you on your toes expect the unexpected.
It is a touch dark, sexy, with a touch of fun and a delicious tale that has sexy Werewolves, Mates, Twins, family drama and things that go bump in the night.
The storyline is well thought out and cleverly woven together. The characters are well developed, complex and interesting.
Kyran is sexy, dark, brooding, and troubled and along with having a secret or two he is being torn in two. Trouble seems to follow Marjorie wherever she goes but she runs toward danger not from it. However, as secrets begin to come to light, Marjorie’s world is turned upside down once again.
It doesn’t end with a cliffy but there are a few unanswered questions, but I still really enjoyed the story. Hopefully all will be revealed in the next book.
If you love paranormal/supernatural you will not be disappointed.

Bring on more.

The Archcrusade: Tome One (The Archcrusade Series) by K. M. Hogenson. This is by far the longest book I’ve read in a long time but surprisingly it was not difficult. It was engaging and entertaining and I couldn’t wait to start reading again each time I put it down. Its the story of Basil but you meet so many more characters and find out their stories. Its like multiple stories in one book. Its easy to keep up with and so fun. There is magic, action, adventure, paranormal, fantasy, werewolves, vampires, you name it, its in this book. I can’t possibly mention all the characters without missing something so just know there are multiple characters and their stories and they are so well written that you feel like you have been to this crazy world and you know all the characters. Basil along with other characters face danger, suffering, life threatening acts and all kinds of adventures. This book will keep you on your toes and I can’t wait to read this next one. I noticed Kellie was an author from Australia and wondered what a home-grown girl had to offer and let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself eagerly turning the pages for more and putting it down was not on the cards because I had to know how it all ended.
Before I Let You Go is a fast-paced romance tale that is mysterious, with a dash of darkness, a little suspense and intrigue. I love paranormal/supernatural/fantasy.
The characters were really well written and there were a few twists and turns that surprised me but there is also some humour.
Elsbeth is in need of a change and her newly inherited a remote French island home will give her that and much more. What she hadn’t counted on was the three men who have come into her life and the turmoil and secrets that she finds herself in. What dark mysteries do the island and her home hold?
I look forward to reading more from Kellie.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Before You Say I Do by Marina Hanna is a captivating contemporary romance. I have read many of Marina’s books and have fallen in love with every one of them. Marina’s writing draws me into her stories and had me completely intrigued.
The characters are wonderfully real, and you become very invested in their story. Marina also has a wicked sense of humour that shines through in her words. Although Before You Say I Do is a quick read it has everything to keep the pages turning. I was engrossed and engaged, and I loved every minute of it.
The chemistry is smoking, sexy, steamy and sizzles right off the page. With lots of passion, desire, some sass, there are intense moments, some angst and drama making some fabulous reading.
She only meant it to be one night, but she couldn’t get enough. Even though she knew she should stay away. Mor than one-night leads to heart ache.
Do yourself a favour and start reading Marina’s books today.

This is the first time reading from this author. I initially enjoyed reading these types of books, there is just something different about this one.  I honestly didn’t really read the synopsis because the cover just grabbed my attention. Each story keeps me wanting to read more. I really get into them just to move on to another short story. I really wish that they weren’t short stories at all. There is so much missing because there is no real ending. I am left wanting more from each. They each bring something different to the table, bed, couch really where ever you are reading it at. I have no favorite because they get and keep my attention and my make so many pictures dance in my head.

OMG!! I really love paranormal romance and shifter romances are my favorite. I am so happy to find a new series and a new author to boot. I really was hooked by this book and I really cannot wait to get deeper into the series. I really could not put this book down and it has really brought my love for reverse harems out. I really love how the main female lead has hidden potential and that the story line was really a breath of fresh air and unique. The author does such a great job of bringing the characters to life and make the situation normal. Although nothing about it is normal it was quite easy to not only read but I thoroughly enjoyed. I am so looking forward to the next book and am on baited breath waiting. So it goes to say that I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mistaken Identity immediately sucks you in. The author wrote a story where the action starts immediately. Leaving the mystery of who’s who at the forefront.
A run in at the airport leaves Evelyn in the middle of a mistaken identity situation. The problem is it’s a very dangerous situation. Instead of being on a plane to Greece she’s now stuck with annoyingly frustrated PI Patrick who is trying to keep her safe.
Patrick is frustrated with the entire situation. However he can’t keep his eyes off Evelyn. He’s attracted to her but he can’t let that cloud his judgment from keeping her safe. The Fitzgerald’s are after her and they want blood.
Can Patrick keep her safe?
Will Evelyn ever get to her dig site in Greece?
Can father and son work together to bring The Firm(Fitzgeralds) down?
So many questions and with the fast pace of the story sometimes you may miss an answer. So take your time! enjoy the story! Me, I need to go back and read it again!

Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia Series) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia Book 1)Sugar & Spice by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sugar & Spice is Book 1 in the Spicetopia series and I loved this story. I am definitely no stranger to this author’s books, loving the unique story-line with the start of this series I am already anticipating to continue and I cannot wait to see what is store in Spicetopia. This story gave me secrets, drama, romance with definite sugar and spice and everything oh so nice!

When the owners of the family theme park of Sweetopia approach their youngest son about going “undercover” as there is rumors swirling around about an employee uprising and not in a good way. Cy Sweet has his eye on the initial prize of a bribe from his father so he can go to Greece on a planned trip. What Cy Sweet did not anticipate was a liking to The Red Velvet Queen..aka Jolie Cox.

Being The Red Velvet Queen for Jolie Cox has its struggles. Being a single mom, juggling her 2 jobs to make ends meat so she can provide for both of her son and their needs….working at Sweetopia is very demanding. Working conditions not ideal especially when her sons also need her as well.

When Cy and Jolie meet the spark and fireworks are hot and heavy…but as Jolie lets her guard down believing Cy is genuine…what happens when Cy dives in to find out whom may be the leader of an employee uprising and also juggling his feelings for Jolie…knowing he has secrets ….

Definitely read and find out…I loved this story and I cannot wait to dive in to Moon and Katja’s story in Book 2!

A Girl, Stuck (Found Families Series) by Kelly Elizabeth Huston – Review by Lisa Helmick

A Girl, StuckA Girl, Stuck by Kelly Elizabeth Huston
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So I enjoyed parts of this story and others not so much. I liked a lot at times because of the Interaction between her and Trey but the other times was a lot of descriptive paragraphs and to me..filler. There is something to be said for setting a scene but overdoing it just leads to boredom.

The tension and suspense perpetuated between these two in intense and has that “hook” appeal. That is what keeps the pages turning. When will they see each other again? Or what will happen if they do? Seeing them together is what makes the story go…..well also Leo.

Overall it is an okay read. I could easily put it down and had to force myself a time or two to get back to it. Once I started skimming the descriptive pages it went much faster. I feel the story needs more. I did not feel for the characters when injured or worry about them when in tense situations. The title fits in here nicely.

This beautiful picture book both engages children and teaches them about all the responsibilities (and fun) that come with pet ownership! The storyline educates in a way that flows rather than being a list of dos and don’ts which makes it a great way to introduce little ones to what is required to be a responsible pet owner. Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Series) by Stephanie R. Caffrey – Review by Brandy Rymer

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R, Caffrey was such a thrilling read, I couldn’t put this book down! I love the characters and how feisty they are, especially our main female character, Evelyn, who finds herself in a messy situation when she is mistaken for someone else while traveling abroad. Patrick happens to be at the airport looking to prevent Megan from going on the run, when he accidentally grabs Evelyn instead, who happens to look similar to Megan. All this mess happens because Megan, who was in a hurry to get onto the airplane, bumped into Evelyn and accidentally grabbed the wrong travel bag. Due to this accident, Evelyn was left holding Megan’s bag, which puts her in a very dangerous situation. Throughout this book we see Evelyn forced to step out of her comfort zone, and continually have to fight for her life, and the lives of her new friends. This story is so realistic, it will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what may be waiting right around the corner! There is a budding romance throughout the story, that is beautifully intertwined with the thrills of mystery and danger. What a wonderful touch to have a slow to develop romance that stayed in the bounds of old-fashioned courtship, showing that there are good men still out there who respect women’s morals.

Managing Mischief (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn – Review by Beverly Finnie

Managing Mischief (Shattered Embrace #2)Managing Mischief by Alyndra Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ashton and Zachary are back for another round. In Managing Mischief the author brings the reader on a journey of trust. They need to trust each other, however that’s easier said than done.
I’ve enjoyed the chemistry between these characters. It’s off the charts. Which is what sucked me in. Had me wanting more. This book is no different.
While both these characters had growth in book 1, the growth they experienced in book 2 seemed greater. In saying that, this book is definitely not a standalone novel. Book 1 is needed to get the initial understanding. Book 2 being the growth and understanding.
While I would like to read more from this author. I also want more from this series’ characters. If it be a continuation of Ashton and Zachary’s story or one of the supporting group of friends. More stories to tell with the right amount of passion, chemistry, romance, drama, ect.

Charlotte’s Control is the first book in The Control Series. This is a Historical Romance that I absolutely loved reading . I’m a huge fan of this author and Historical Romance. She did a wonderful job creating amazing characters that make the story come to life. I could picture myself right along with them. Her attention to detail made it pop. This is definitely my favorite yet. This is an age gap romance and its William and Charlotte’s story. She’s a widow and likes to be in control especially in the bedroom. William is a bit younger but you wouldn’t know has he still carries the weight of his father’s transgressions. These two my goodness are so good together. I don’t want to give to much away. I’m going to highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next with William and Charlotte. It’s worth the read I promise.. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.
