I was drawn into this book straight away when the action really does kick off as soon as it starts. I really enjoyed the book overall and thought that it was a great introduction to this new author! Her writing style was great, really engaging, easy to read and the characters were brilliant. I liked Joy I thought that she was a sweet, kind and relatable person. All (well majority) of the characters in the story were really sweet and relatable. I loved the setting and time period for the story – historical romance is my favourite genre so to find this book was great and added in is that bit of Christmas magic and it was a perfect book for me! I can’t wait to read more from this author again in the future.

I absolutely loved this journal! It was so accessible and just an absolutely joy to have as part of my wellbeing. I love journaling – over the past 12 months especially I have found that using something like this has enabled me to work through problems and come out the other side. The prompts in the book make you stop and think about your life and also when you are feeling like you are in a better place it’s so good to be able to look back and see how far you have come. I loved being able to fill in the beautifully illustrated pages. I loved the positive affirmations, they are so important to remind yourself of something positive everyday even when you feel like everything is negative around you. For anyone who find it easier to write out feeling than talk about this then I would 100% recommend Finding Your Heart – it would make a fantastic part of your metal wellbeing journey!

Another amazing book in this series – 8 books in and each one just gets better than the one before. I think this was probably my favourite of the series so far, even though I’m pretty sure I’ve said that after finishing each book. I was very taken with Master Sardinia, he was so dark, dangerous and oh so delicious! The dual POV provides a real depth to the story and the characters, you really do get to see things from both sides. I loved the connection between the characters and there was definitely a fair amount of passion and chemistry between them! I really cannot wait to read the next book! Whilst these books could be read independently I would 100% recommend reading them in order!

Super interesting! I was very drawn into this story, wondering what was going to become of Lucifer and finding out what the men of Eden Cover Manor were hiding. This was such a fun take on vampires. Lucifer is a stubborn one and luckily for him Mordecai seems to have taken a liking to him. At first I was confused about who was who with, Cristoff, Asa, Luthor, Emory, Mordecai, and Darius. In the end it all clicked for me once Lucifer made up his mind. I really hope there is going to be a follow up book because, I would really like to see where life takes Lucifer and the other men.

I really enjoyed this steamy romantic comedy. It was so well written that I laughed till I cried in parts. The author’s portrayal of Olivia was a really relatable character for me as a woman who is in the beginnings of menopause. I could sympathise with her with the hot flushes and brain fog but she’s an amazing determined woman who doesn’t let it stop her. I also loved Roman. His character was so likeable how he works so hard to make Olivia see what he sees that fact that she is an attractive hot woman no matter her age, weight or what she’s going through. Olivia’s ex husband invites her to his wedding to show off his new younger bride. Even though Olivia doesn’t want to go she does for her kids. She knows there is no way she can compete with the bride to be and the thought of spending time in her ex’s company fills her with dread. However her daughter and her friend have a plan. Why not fight fire with fire. And they don’t come hotter than hockey player Roman. When Roman’s daughter asks him to be a fake date for her friends mum he doesn’t think twice about accepting. After all it’s a favour to his daughter. The plan is simple pretend to date this woman, make her look good in front of her ex and bride and then return to his life. But what happens when he realises that the “fake feelings” and relationship are becoming something more. For once in his life he has found a woman who wants him for him and not his fame or status. What will happen after the wedding? Will they get the happy ever after they both deserve or will it just be a holiday fling. I loved this story and I was willing them to succeed. Getting older isn’t fun for anyone but it was refreshing and exciting to read a story about a older couple having such sizzling chemistry and passion.

Magic, despair, tragedy and war are just some of the intricacies of this story.
The narrator brings you head first into the story and grabs your attention with both hands. I didn’t read the first book but will be doing so now to see how the story progresses from the beginning.
My heart went out to Ian at the beginning of this story as he was freed from a prison where he was drugged and robbed of the magic and his memories. He couldn’t trust anyone. He was ready for battle at each step.
As he slowly began to gain his memories back and his magic not all decisions were correct. He needs to find The Crown of Stones and the Oracle spell. Will he be able to find it without destroying everything in his path? Will he survive or be captured again?

Wow! My favorite offering of the series so far! Logan and Ben have decided to buy a fixer upper house in Oregon. Life has settled comfortably for Logan and she is finding happiness, peace and success. She also has discovered she has a half-sister she only recently learned of, and has plans to meet and build a relationship with her. In the midst of all that, as usual, Logan finds lots of mysteries, interesting tidbits and a murder case to work on. Once Logan starts digging and investigating, will Olivia help her or hinder her progress?
I don’t want to give too much away, these books are such a true joy to read and part of it is how there is always something to learn, and So. Much. Detail. Not in an overwhelming way, you almost don’t even notice as you’re reading, as it doesn’t take away from the story in the least – it adds texture and depth.
All Logan McKenna novels are great as stand alone books, but if you start at the beginning and ride along with Logan as she grows and develops, it’s really a gift to yourself. The information about mental health, generational trauma, and healing (or not) from it is really amazing. Such an outstanding series!

Logan is back for another vacation trip along the Oregon coast for the summer with her family. They have such wonderful times planned with beach walks, campfires, a charter boat rental for a full on fishing trip, and excellent time just relaxing with Ben, and her daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Things are going beautifully, until Logan is drawn in to another murder – this time, she was one of the last to see the victim and is being checked out as a suspect! Will she be able to give the Safe Harbor people need while the killer gets closer?
Another absolutely wonderful read about Logan, her nuances that make her the fantastic character she is, and the way she follows her heart and mind to protect those around her. There are so many details that jump out at me while reading these books that just build a more beautiful picture, and I always feel as though I’ve learned things after setting one of these novels down.

Lies That Bind is book six in the Logan McKenna storyline. Valerie Davisson brings in different sensitive topics into her writings, and this time is no different. Trauma is sometimes passed from generation to generation, causing a multi-generational curse that is hard to break. Once again, Logan McKenna has found herself in the middle of a murder, and ofcourse she can’t keep her hands clean enough to stay out of it all. While in the middle of buying a new home, meeting her half sister, and now a murder, she really has her hands full this time. This was a great addition to the series and the characters continue to evolve and develop. Even after six books in, I am still intrigued with how Logan keeps finding trouble. Let’s see what new problems she encounters in the next one…..

Safe Harbor is book five in the Logan McKenna series and very well written crime story with a strong female lead. As always, you can read this as a standalone, but it does follow characters from previous books so extra character development and details carry over. This time around, Logan McKenna is in Oregon and if we have learned anything at all, she has a knack for finding problems. When a murder is reported, Logan finds herself being a suspect and she must prove her innocents. The author has an ability to suck us in to her characters, plots, and settings in a believable way, making this an easy read. I wonder where the next one will take us with Logan and her crew!

Vanishing Day is book four in the Logan McKenna series and once again touches on sensitive topics. While this is a continuation in the series I do think it could be read as a standalone as well. In Vanishing Day, a Lori is trying to keep herself and her small child safe from an abusive husband. When the husband comes to try to make a bad situation worse, Logan steps in to try to help her new friend. Now, with too much information and getting involved in Lori’s dilemma, Logan is also in danger. I really liked the way this author can take a serious topic and twist it into an engaging story, bringing awareness to situations but not lecturing on them. Well done and well written. Lost and Found is the ninth book in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series and is a fast paced thrilling Mystery that will have you turning the pages till the end. This series just keeps getting better and better with each new book and this one may be my favorite yet. There’s just the right amount of mystery, secrets, lies, deceit to keep you guessing. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Logan is back and this time the stakes are higher than ever . Can she catch the killer before her own life is ripped away? Is Sam’s friend innocent or is there more to him? Follow along as Logan is in a race against time to find the killer. Who can she really trust? The killer will do anything to keep the truth hidden and will do absolutely everything to protect themselves. I highly recommend diving into this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to seeing what she brings us next.

The first book of The Y Chronicles, Lexi Verity is preparing to take her test that would determine her career path and living situation. The Imperium ruled after the Collapse and war. It decreed humans squandered too much; therefore, all foodstuff went into bland but healthy bars. It was rare to have fresh vegetables and real meat. Everyone was assigned work according to a test, determined the best genetic match for a mate, and assigned housing units. Change wasn’t allowed. Only those just married or with children got apartments. If a couple failed to achieve pregnancy after the first year or their children had grown were forced into a dormitory living.
Lexi was groomed to follow in her family’s footsteps and work in Administration. Everyone who worked in Administration lived in the White building and wore white uniforms. She dreamed of working in the greenhouses. Lexi threw her test by purposely incorrectly answering the questions for Administration’s section. When Lexi finished the computer announced she was assigned to Reclamation. In 72 hours she would be assigned a mate and her new home.
Lexi’s father was in a rage when he learned what she had done. He insisted that she retake the test. Lexi refused to bend to what he wanted. When she reported to Reclamation she was assigned a brown suit and was to sort trash that could be recycled. Just before she was finished with work, a gold necklace appeared at he her station. It had a gold cross on it. She wasn’t sure if it was valuable so she chose to scan it with the computer. Red lights and an alarm sounded “Contraband detected, Supervisor alerted.” Her supervisor told her that religious symbols led to devastation of the world.
The following evening, both of her grandparents receive messages that they were being retired and moved to a nearby town called Solitude. Lexi was stunned; nobody ever returned from the retirement city. She would never see her grandparents again. The following morning, her mother gave her a necklace with a locket on it. She accompanied her mother and grandparents to the train platform. Her mother claimed she was going to escort them to their train. Lexi started towards the opposite direction for her train to work. Yelling was heard, Lexi saw a fireball fill the station where her grandparents and mother were. Then a large explosion and Lexi’s life was about to change in ways she had never imagined.
This was a thrilling story of rebellion against conformity and tyrannical government. Lexi was unwilling to live a life dictated by others. However, she was extremely loyal to her grandparents and her mother. Readers who enjoy stories told from the perspective of a strong female protagonist will enjoy Rise of the Y. Unpredictable plot twists and supporting characters prove to add adventure and fuel the fire of pursuing dreams.

A historical romance with mystery, adventure and twists. I enjoyed reading this book. I have not read the first two books, but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. The story was very well written. It transports you back in time with great detail.
This is another thrilling continuation of the Logan McKenna Series by Valerie Davisson. Whisper Creek is the 7th book in this series, and it continues to blow my mind how intriguing each new book is building upon the excitement of the previous books. Life looks like it is finally settling down for Logan and Ben, their relationship is going so well that Ben has proposed to Logan, which she accepted of course. Logan’s musical career is soaring, and life seems to be going smoothly for the happy couple, maybe a little too smoothly. As Logan takes a break to clear her head and get some much-needed space for herself, she gets involved in yet another investigation, there is already one body, and four suspects, will Logan be able to help clear her friends from being suspects or will she get pulled too deep into another investigation that may put her own life at risk once again. This book series has been absolutely amazing, I am hopeful that there will be more books to come in this series. As always, I’m eternally wowed by how much information Davisson fits into a story without any of it feeling out of place, feeling judgy and forceful with opinion, and without any stumbles with all of the stories woven into each addition to the series.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have guessed sea otters being the thing that could make Logan McKenna novels even better, but here we are. Logan has time with her daughter, Amy, when she comes home to get treatment for malaria and rest until she recovers. They find an orphaned sea otter and discover the Rescue Center when seeking help for its safety. In the midst of Logan volunteering and Amy establishing a group to care for the orphaned pup, there are battles of the legal sort and greed as well as injuries, B and E’s and a murder.
As a historically large storm approaches, Logan finds the victim and director and also notes the missing boat, sea otter, and daughter. She is desperate to find Amy and keep her safe, but she can’t do it alone. The community around Logan helps to solve the mystery!

This book was everything I’d hoped it would be, and so much more. When I read what this was going to be about, I was excited, mostly because, I was there. When I read this book, it was like she was mirroring my feelings, about life, about kids, about marriage, about it all. and I was just THERE… Through the tears, the anger, all of it. Let me just say, this book was so much more than just what it was written about. The Podcast Chronicles opened eyes. It shows you that you can do more than you believe, even when you thought that you couldn’t… And for that, and so much more, Kathryn Dodson has done a PHENOMENAL job with this book. I can’t wait to read more of her work.

This book was a hard book to put down. This book series has been amazing and keeps you wanting more at the end of every book. I do suggest reading the other books first but can be read by itself.
This book follows the stories of Shane and Winter. Shane has worked his whole life towards one goal but one night that all could change for him. One action with good intentions that could cost him everything he has worked for. As a son and brother, he just wants to make his family proud and follow his dreams. He is highly determined and goes for what he wants.
Winter came back to town with one goal. Which was to find answers to things that happened to her family a long time ago. She does not want or need any distractions and that is what men can be.
What happens when the person you collide with seems familiar? Can someone who you can’t place be a key factor in your life? Do opposites attract or will a war ensue?

Another win in the universe of Logan McKenna – at least in the wonderfully told story. It’s been 2 years since Logan was made a widow and learned of exactly how her life with her husband really was. She has been rebuilding her life step by step, and even is feeling out a very new relationship. Logan decides to treat herself with a trip to Portland, OR and is having a wonderful time – until an explosion rocks a food truck near her hotel, and she finds she knows people involved and a woman who died in the fire. Logan is worried as no one is giving her new friend, the owner of the food truck, a fair opportunity to have the case solved. The cops are refusing any conversation, assuming things instead of investigating, and Logan has to help. Another case of Logan and her incredible attention to detail, Davisson’s effortless streamlining one string of a storyline with the others and teaching you things without bias in a pretty incredible way.

What a wonderful read this book was, it was so well written, I truly enjoy reading The Logan McKenna Series by Valerie Davisson. Safe Harbor, unfortunately for Logan McKenna, is not all that it promises. As a suspect in a murder and being the next in line for the actual killer, she’s got her hands full, when all she wanted to do was take a much-needed vacation with Ben and her family. This is the 5th book in this series, and I can honestly say I am having a hard time putting it down. It is such a magical book to read, it has so much drama, thrills, and excitement that you are scared to walk around in the dark wondering what may be hiding around the corner. Not only does Logan suffer from being accused of murder, but she also must face her past, and wade her way through trying to stay on her two feet, without being dragged down by everything happening around her. Every book in this series just keeps taking it up a notch, getting more and more exciting as the series goes on. @Brandy Rymer 11/2023

Having read a couple of later Logan series novels as my introduction to her fantastic stories, I felt she was like an old friend who had suffered trauma in her past. Reading this filled in so much more and was so well written. There are multiple characters with well understood storylines without muddying up the journey – expertly woven and playing off one another throughout the story.
Logan McKenna hears of a car accident that has taken the life of her husband. While she considered THIS the life altering scenario that shattered her, she suffers through so much more – the box that appears on her doorstep from her husband’s mistress on the day of his funeral, sharing every dirty detail of the betrayal – to the selling the parts of the computer/tech company the two of them had built up together, to just learning to live a new life without both her husband and their company. Logan takes a job as a teacher, and is excellent at it…so good, in fact, that her students perform exceptionally well on their tests and a jealous fellow teacher accuses her of cheating to make herself look good. She truly fears she will lose her job over the accusation.
Buying a new house is a move to help her find herself and relax into this new life – but now she has heard a close friend has been accused of the horrific murder at a festival. Thomas refuses to talk about it at all, even to defend himself, the cops have found evidence of payments between the victim and Thomas, and Logan can’t help but try to get to the bottom of it to save her friend. As the situation gets progressively more dangerous, Logan proves herself strong and capable throughout the book. Will she catch the killer? Is it Thomas, or will she redeem him?

Vanishing Day is the 4th book in Valerie Davisson’s Logan McKenna Mystery series. This book was a continuation of the story of Logan McKenna and the excitement that seems to follow her around like no other. This book promises you excitement, mystery, and a fast-paced thrill ride, and it lives up to everything promised and so much more. You cannot help but grow to love and feel invested in the characters that you’ve met in the past books, as well as gain a deeper understanding of their characters as Valerie continues to masterfully build upon their true natures. This story does touch on some very touchy subjects including spousal abuse, but it’s so ingeniously approached that it doesn’t overshadow the true purpose of the storyline. Once you start this series, you will not want to stop until you get through all of the books, it is so amazing, I’m so excited for the next book. @Brandy Rymer 11/2023

I felt a kinship with Sue from the beginning. She and I are the same age and trying to figure out the next steps in life now that the kids no longer need us like they used to. The prospect of having to figure the next path to take is not only hard but also scary.
Sue evolved and developed her own identity and learned so much about herself as well as others. She is no longer Gabe’s wife and the boys mom but she is now Sue and I loved every minute of it.
I enjoyed the book and hope to see Sue again.

Every time I pick up a new book in this series, I am just speechless. I love each one more than the last and that’s saying something! This author has such a magical way of weaving these stories that pulls you into the world. It feels like an immersive experience instead of just reading about something happening to a character. Speaking of characters, Logan is one of my favorite people of ALL time. She seems to have a knack for finding trouble, or vice versa. You can definitely read this as a standalone, but reading the previous ones gives you so much more depth with our main character, Logan. I promise you’ll end up picking up the rest of the series afterwards anyways! If you’re looking for a thrilling crime read, look no further. This book (and series) is the one for you!
