Yesterday’s Over by Becky Flade is the third book in the Philly Heat series, which I have really enjoyed thus far. This storyline really drew me in as all the others have because the subject matter is really up my alley. As someone who is a fan of all the Law and Orders, and Bones, I really like how this series includes cops, medical examiners, and detectives, an anthropologist, and even a supposed bad guy. In Yesterday’s Over Trudy and Ben are a made for each other pair, they are relatable, and much liked just like the other couples in the series. The tension and suspense is great. All of the books in this series are stand alone stories but some of the characters do cross over into the other books. Overall this is a clean, fast paced, well written, romantic suspense that I enjoyed.

Becky has her own cooking show on YouTube called the Farmer’s Daughter. Her life has been sheltered with helping her father, brothers and whoever happens to be on the Farm. Getting close with Glen is not part of her plans and hiding the fact that they are dating is not ideal. Becky and Glen grow closer but how can they have a future if they are hiding how they feel? What happens when they are found out, will Becky’s family support them or try to break them apart?
I felt for Glen because in some ways he comes off as tainted where the others are concerned, even though he is proving himself to be a better man every chance he gets. I really liked Becky, I thought she was relatable and was rooting for her and Glen. Another great book in this series.

This was the fourth book in the series and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend reading the series in order so you can get the full story on the characters. There is a lot of history between the characters that the story refers back to. I think this one may have been my favorite so far. The relatable plot along with the character growth was amazing. I absolutely adore Becky, like she is my favorite character in the series so I was so happy to finally get her story. I thought I knew where the story was going and I was wrong! It took me by surprise more than once as I was reading. As always I love the author’s writing style. They do a really great job at explaining the scene so that you can actually picture everything playing out. This was such a sweet romance. I cannot wait to read James’s story next!

Fall to Pieces by Becky Flade is book 2 in the Philly Heat series and a great addition to the series it was. Alexandra Danvers, a homicide detective, and Xavier Knight, a detective assigned to investigate Alexandra to make sure she is fit for undercover duty. So far I’ve read 3/4 of the books in this series and they have renewed my interest in romantic suspense novels. I really enjoy how much the author manages to create such realistic characters in real life situations, and keeps you hanging on her every word. This whole series are quick, clean, reads, that are hard to pull yourself away from. Although the author is new to me with this series I’ll be looking forward to finishing it and checking out her backlog.

So, this isn’t your typical good gal, good guy romantic suspense novel. A Love Restrained is book 1 in the Philly Heat Series. It’s about Kylee Parker, a Philadelphia police Officer, and Jayson Donovan, a drug dealer. She doesn’t know who or what he has become since she hasn’t seen him since she was a teen with a bad crush. There is no gray area with Kylee, so bad, is bad, and good, is good, right?! Maybe wrong?! This was a great, clean, book with solid writing, realistic characters, that I read incredibly quickly.

Is it possible to forgive someone for their past transgressions? KG Fletcher presents the fourth book in The Bennetts of Langston Falls series. Becky Bennett has found her life on the family Christmas Tree Farm and Winery has become dull. Every day she provides meals for her father, brothers, and hired hands. She had become successful on her YouTube Channel since Elyse Farrell had managed to secure promotional deals. When Glen Kirby brings her a bushel of apples, she is reminded of how he had almost killed her brother Teddy and threatened Walt with a loaded gun. However, Walt had offered to help Glen to rebuild his life and buy back his family homestead. Glen had successfully gone through rehab for his addiction, worked sunup to sundown with no complaints. However, his only friend was his black cat, Garth.
Becky sees Glen in town after she placed her Christmas flower decoration order. Glen admitted he had just come from a meeting he attended at the rehab center. He had achieved 8 months of sobriety. Becky insists on buying him a coffee house where they became better acquainted. Glen asked Becky to join him on Halloween for dinner and watch the children in their costumes. She agreed and they spent a delightful evening together. Becky makes Glen an apple pie, deciding to forgive him for his past since her family had done so as well. Walt asked Glen to check in on Becky while their father and brothers were in Nashville. Glen agreed and made baked apples to take to Becky. They spent hours just talking and playing cards. As the weekend continues, the pair spend more time together and their feelings grow. However, they both know her family wouldn’t approve of their relationship.
I felt sympathy for Glen. He really was trying to do the right thing to make his life right. He had no family, no home, and his reputation was based on his past. While the Bennetts said they forgave him, they still reverted to his past on judging his worthiness of seeing Becky. Instead of allowing her to be independent and make decisions as the adult that she was, they kept telling her that he was a bad person. My personal experience made this story relatable and I thought the irrational actions from the brothers were fueled by Samantha and Robyn since they hated Glen and were part of law enforcement. They both looked at statistics and no guarantee that he might not relapse. I automatically dislike them, despite the past books that brought them to become the wives of two of the brothers.
The question of what true forgiveness is brought into focus in this story. Can someone change their life? Once an addict will always be an addict. My opinion is that this statement is untrue. I think anyone can alter their life in a positive and negative way. And to forgive is to not hold a person’s past against them.

Beautiful Dangerous is another addition to the Philly Heat Series, it’s Book number 4. It’s a romantic suspense novel between a public defender, Hannah, and a cop, Doyle. One thing I really appreciated was that Beautiful Dangerous was told through dual point of views so we got to hear from Hannah and Doyle which I really like. Becky Flade did an amazing job of making these characters feel real and the story felt realistic, and their chemistry was off the charts which is why the suspense, and genuine feelings, were immediate when they were forced to be together so Doyle could protect her from her stalker. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. If romantic suspense is your jam Beautiful Dangerous is one of the greats.

This is the first book in the Modern Midwife Mysteries series. This is a cozy mystery which is definitely why I grabbed it, well that and a very intriguing sounding premise that promised mystery coupled with what sounded like fantastic family drama that wasn’t my own. Christine Knapp is fantastic at developing characters that feel like they could live in the house next door to yours. They are complex yet have problems that feel like the “neighbors dirty laundry” plus this story has murder which leads to crime and investigation and this literally had all the makings of my next favorite book. Christine Knapp has created a fantastic lead character in Maeve who seems as if she is made for TV with her quick comments and her inner monologue that will keep you laughing. She definitely keeps the pace of the story moving at a good clip and she is one of those main characters that you know that will be one that you will reach for again and again. I don’t want to compare her to Stephanie Plum, but that is the first character that comes to mind when I think of a very strong character driven series. Christine Knapp also does a fantastic job combining the mystery / crime genre with the medical genre. This added another wonderful element to the story. This book literally felt like it was written just for me with how many of my favorite things it included. I definitely recommend reading this and I hope to see more of Maeve in the future!

I have yet to read a Libby Kay novel that I have not just adored. Faking the Fall is the fourth installment of the Buckeye Falls series. In this novel Kay introduces us to Alice and James with the “fake dating” trope. Returning to the small town of Ohio we escape reality and travel this fake journey with the two of them. However it doesn’t seem fake for long. The story line is sweet and innocent, allowing you to fall in love with both characters. I was rooting for the two of them to fall in love and find their happiness-ever-after the entire time. I’m not one to rush to pick up a fake relationship novel but this one was so much more than that. You won’t want to put this one down. I highly recommend this novel to all readers who enjoy small town romance novels with a twist.

This was a fantastic, yet haunting book about a car accident that definitely left many people wondering what happened. Tang is a writer, who is suffering from writer’s block, who is also seemingly keeping secrets from those around him. Most specifically, his girlfriend Layla. As the book progresses the more one is left wondering how Tang is connected to Dee and if those connections are involved in the secrets Tang is keeping from Layla. This book really is a romantic suspense. It is fast paced and I definitely did not want to put it down. I was left engaged from the beginning of the story and was left wanting more as each and every page passed. I also loved how the further you read the more question you (well at least I did) about what actually happened in that car accident. The author knows how to craft a fantastic plot that is filled with twists and turns. I definitely recommend this one!
This is a fun and entertaining Christmas novella that was a quick read but thoroughly enjoyable. Every Christmas book I have ever read is all about winter, and snow and dark nights. I loved the fact that this one was set in Australia and the feel of it was so different. And yet, despite the beach and the sun the author really brought out the festive spirit. I loved the characters in this book. They had a natural connection and it was lovely to watch it develop. I thought they were so well suited and I became invested in them. Although the book is quick to read, it didn’t feel like anything was missing or rushed. This is an enjoyable festive story that is worth the read.

We seem to have been really luck recently with the children’s books we have read recently and this is another one to add to that list. This book was fun, engaging and entertaining, capturing the attention of both of my children. It was also really educational and a great way to teach them about interaction with dogs. The pictures are what really pulled them into this book. They almost became the gateway for us being able to talk about the topic of the book and to keep them interested until the end. This was a really enjoyable story and I am sure we are going to read this many more times.

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed reading and look forward to seeing what is next for them. This is an emotional story that could cause triggers for some. If you can get past those, you will find a great story. This is a well written story about trauma and survival. This is a story that took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that just kept going. The characters pull you into their world and I had no problems picturing myself with them. They will pull at your heart strings for sure. I found this book to be fast paced and hard to put down. You don’t want to miss this one. I enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

CJ and Lora are the owners of Porter and Midge. Porter and Midge are loveable dogs and CJ and Lora want to share the proper way of handling dogs for everyone to share their joy. This is a great book for kids about the do’s and don’ts of approaching, playing, walking dogs and more. As a dog owner with a young grandchild this is informative and gives well descripted lessons in order to take care of the dog but also the safety of the child.

This is the fourth book in this series which I enjoyed reading. This is a series that can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading the previous books in the series. This will help your enjoyment of this author’s writing skills. This book is no different. This is a well written story that is full of romance and hard to put down. A small town romance where two neighbors never expected to find love in each other. Becky and Glen are great characters with steamy chemistry and have great growth throughout. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. A story full of romance and one you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this author.

One of the things I appreciate and enjoy most about this series is the mention of old friends , they’re linked into each story and nobody is forgotten about 🥰 also I want a rainbow cardigan 🤣😉🌈
James , an artist from New York just needs to get away and he heads to Buckeye Falls and that’s where Max and Ginny welcome him amongst them .
He invests into the town it’s people and it’s council meetings and he also makes friends along the way and it’s at a meeting where he meets Alice as her brother is the mayor 😉 I love that she’s a librarian assistant, administrator to a degree helping her sister in law and friend and she’s highly intelligent and has more than one degree but nothing is beneath her while she finds herself and I do feel sorry for her because it’s as if the town and her family see her as the black sheep , she really is misunderstood but James sees that something in her and it lights his spark again both artistically and as a man ❣️
Max and Ginny also have some special need and that got me all googly eyed and I’m overjoyed for them at what is to come ….
I loved being back in Buckeye Falls amongst friends and family 🥰

Get ready for this story! Ok let me be clear. In this story Sue Clearly is following a different career. She went from working to having children and not working. Well yes she became a stay at home mom to raise her children, which we all know is an important job. As her last two are beginning their last years in high school, she wonders what will happen to her empty nest. Family is so very important, and that is who she has backing her up. There is a company wanting to destroy her little town of Durango and the forest around it. This can not happen! Not in her mind, therefore she starts a plan in motion. It was interesting how this strong woman went about to get things done. The fight is on and she has more support than she thought she had. That is all I am going to say! No Spoilers. I loved this story. How the family grew so strong, how the husband supported his wife and most importantly how she went about to make a difference. Just reading this story tells you how much the author invested in getting things right. The characters are perfect for their parts. Strong independent characters make things happen and even some emotions are pulled out. Great Story, Fast paced and interesting as well. Well Done!
The suspense in this story is absolutely high. You’ll love it and you’ll hate it but you’ll love it again. The ending is the best and was totally unexpected. This is my first book by Becky Flade and I was very upset with myself for not having found her sooner. Hannah and Doyle will be your favorite story to date.

This is a wonderful learning book. The authors do a great job incorporating learning important dog rules with rhyming. There is also good illustrations showing how to act and how not to act. I like how the information is broken into sections to move the book along.
Overall this story would be great for kids and some adults who have never owned a family dog. I would call it a must read before getting one.

What a delightful read! I really enjoyed every second this one! I did not know anything about this series and the author does a good job explaining it in here. It intrigued me to want to see more about Riley’s brothers because they have a wonderful camaraderie. The action suspense and drama held me to the story but the fantasy aspect kept me there. I was husy trying to figure out what these characters are or did and why. I really thought the talisman was an item not a person so…interesting. I eagerly look forward to more in this series.

I LOVE watching Christmas movies and this one I could TOTALLY see on the big screen!! You can laugh, you can cry, and you can yell at the characters when they’re being stupid! If you love holiday romances, witty banter, and just an overall cute Christmas story this one is for you!! I didn’t want to put it down and now I can’t wait to read more!!

This story had me all in my feelings. It is a great story of friendship to love to everything! Brian and Amanda will make you rethink all relationships for sure. I never realized it was third in a series as the book is a great stand alone story. Definitely will go back and read the first two though. Marlyn’s writing style will make you wanna read all her stories.

Different POV’s honestly makes a book for me! Being able to see and learn from everyone is one of my favorite things. The twists and turns, the drama, the suspense…perfect! Needing a bodyguard because you have a stalker? Yes please! I knew I would devour this read and I loved every single page. If you want a great book with romance AND mystery..this one is for you.

Oh, I loved this book. Fast paced action in a psychological thriller. I’m not giving much away because it could set up spoilers. I can tell you that this is a must read and it looks to be the first in a series!!! Yay! The story moved quickly and kept the thrills and twists coming. I absolutely was engaged in the story right from the start. This is one you cannot put down. The characters are well thought out and developed. There is a good flow to the the plot. Absolutely mind blowing!

This is a book that hit home in more ways than one. It was hard to read at times. I just set it down for a bit and then kept going. i am glad that I did. It is truly a book that needed to be written. There are topics in the book that are worthy of major trigger warnings. Tina went through a lot and went through an incredible journey that is not easy for any survivor. It is an incredibly well-written story that I couldn’t put down and only did when my emotions told me too. The characters were well developed. Thank you for sharing that story!

Oh my goodness, this was a cute Christmas read. There really isn’t anything in it that wasn’t enjoyable. I found the storyline quite entertaining. I could totally relate. I’d love to spend Christmas in Australia. The characters are so funny and full of personality. This is a witty romance that is a pretty quick read. It is a definite must read romance for the holidays.

We couldn’t stop chuckling with this story. Sister finds the red monster under her bed. In order to save herself, she has to give it jobs. My grandson and I were having fun thinking up jobs and drawing monsters under his “bed.” This story opened such an entertaining conversation. Those pictures are wonderful. They have great dimensions to show everything. Another winner from one of my favorite authors.
