This is yet another great book to add to a series of great books. It was lovely to reconnect with the characters that we have become so familiar with over time. As usual, it took no time at all to become invested in their story and what was going on. It always feels like you have never been away from these characters each time you pick up a new book. The story was well written and enjoyable from start to finish. It is rare a series has the longevity like this one and yet the author shows no signs of slowing down. Each book is as good as the others and this one is no exception. This is a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This was a really great read. I was hooked into what I was reading quite early one. This is the first time that I have read a book by this author and I loved how engaging her writing style was. I really liked Blake and I did feel for her at the beginning of the story, for her husband to do what he did was awful but the sexual chemistry between her and Morgan was so hot! I was so, so hoping for them to end up together, in my opinion they were both what each other needed in their lives. I really liked all of the characters I the tory, well some more than others! The story had a really good pace and flow to it and I would highly recommend it to other readers. I’ll definitely be looking to read more from this author in the future.

Atonement is Book One in The McIntire County Series. It is a romantic suspense novel full of action, mystery, intrigue, danger, and drama. The story centers around the character of Nicolette Rivers who is a deputy in a small town called Eider, Iowa. Nicolette, or Nic as she is called, is a former marine sniper who suffers from severe PTSD. Nic is estranged from her family and has a complex relationship with her father. She feels strongly that he never loved her, and she blames him for the death of her former lover. Due to the trauma of war and the estrangement from her family, Nic finds it hard to trust anyone, so she shuts everyone out and moves to a small town where nobody knows her.
When a series of apparent suicides begin to take place in her sleepy little town Nic sets out to solve them. The string starts with a man talking about atonement and repenting for his sins while holding his wife and kids’ hostage. When he cannot be talked down Nic is forced to shoot him. This causes flashbacks of her past and her PTSD rears its ugly head. After this incident, Nic is paired with Con, a police detective. Con has been interested in Nic for a while but because of her trust issues she pushes him away. Con, however, refuses to give up on Nic and is determined to break down the walls she has placed around herself. When other suicide cases pop up where the word atonement is mentioned Nic and Dusty begin to feel the cases are linked together. Were the victims somehow connected through a Priest that one of the victims mentioned prior to his death?
This book was brilliantly written and had me hooked from the first pages. The author did an amazing job of creating a riveting storyline with complex characters that you feel an instant connection to. She handled the complex subject of PTSD, and the effects it has on those suffering from it as well as how it affects the relationships they have with others. Nic was a smart, strong, kick-arse woman who was determined to fight her demons and come out stronger for having done so. Con was sweet, kind, and stubborn as he refused to give up on Nic. This book had heartache, heartbreak, loss, trauma, dark secrets, mystery, danger, intrigue, complex family dynamics, death, war, and a crazed serial killer. I highly recommend this book!

I LOVED this book so much! I have read lots form this author and I love how versatile she is but I have to say I think that this is definitely my favourite form her so far. I fell in love with the characters straight away. Katie was just an amazing character, I loved her so much, she was relatable, I connected with her – she was just a genuinely lovely person to read about and then add in Chase! Perfection the two of them! The way he stepped up and took in his nephew and the relationship that they had was wonderful. I loved every minute of this story and would highly recommend it to others! The narration for the story was wonderful, they both really brought the story to life.

A Party to Remember is part of the Notebook Mysteries series. It is a historical crime novella that takes place in 1889 in Chicago and centers around the characters of Emma and her friends. Emma has a nose for solving mysteries and seems to find them everywhere she goes. When Emma and Jeremy are invited to attend a Christmas party, she cannot shake the feeling that something seems to be off about the party. As the day of the party draws nearer her suspicions increase especially when she learns of the list of guests that have been invited to the same party. The guest list seems odd and those invited do not seem to be those that Gregory and Geoff, the party hosts, would normally socialize with so why have they been invited? Emma begins to conduct a small investigation with the help of her friends, Jake and Ethyl, who go undercover as hired help for the party. As they report back to Emma about the going-ons at Gregory and Geoff’s home, her suspicions only increase, and she knows that something is wrong. Who will win the deadly game of cat-and-mouse that Gregory and Geoff have planned?
Another brilliantly written novella by this talented author. I love how she uses historical events that occurred between 1880-1890 in Chicago as inspiration for her stories. The storyline was intriguing, and the characters are engaging. I have grown to love this close-knit group of friends that have become family to one another. Emma is a smart, feisty, stubborn, young lady with a knack for solving mysteries. She can sense something is wrong and pick up subtle clues that many might otherwise overlook. Christmas is a busy enough time of year but for Emma this year she certainly has her hands full. An invitation to a Christmas party that has her suspicions raised. Helping her friends Savannah and Ethan plan their wedding. Added to that, Emma and Jeremy have just become guardians to young Henrietta who I found was a wonderful addition to the story. I look forward to reading future stories with Henrietta to see if she becomes involved in helping Emma solve mysteries. Such a brilliant-minded young lady will surely aid in solving future mysteries that Emma stumbles onto. I highly recommend this book.

This is a festive novella that is part of The Notebook Mystries series. It can be read as a standalone however I do recommend reading the series so you get a complete idea of the characters and how they are connected. This is a great historical mystery which yet again sees Emma and Jeremy trying to solve a crime and stop the bad guys. There is a lot happening in this story. From the marriage of Savannah and Ethan and Emma and Jeremy becoming guardians to little Henrietta everyone is distracted. When they all get invited to a party the day before Savannah and Ethans wedding everyone decides to go. However Emma can’t help but feel like something is off with this party. That it isn’t the fun evening they want and that something sinister is about to happy. Is Emma’s instincts and gut feeling right? Or is she just being paranoid and looking for danger where none exists. I have grown to love Emma’s characters through all of these books and I love that fact that it’s a historical story however Emma is respected and listened to when she speaks about her gut feelings. She is a strong and determined character who is like a dog with a bone when it comes to getting to the bottom of a mystery.

This is such an informative children’s story. A story with learning and fun, for both adults and children. Eee-ahh goes to school to learn, but the teacher wants to know where she lives. Therefore the lesson begins for all, including you the reader. I absolutely love this story. As well as the author. Her imagination opens so many doors for children. Creating so many projects and activities for all who read her book. The story is short enough to keep the children’s interest, and includes so much more. A Party To Remember is a festive novella in the Notebook Mysteries series. I’d recommend it to fans of the series looking for an enjoyable holiday read. If you haven’t read this series yet you should start with Emma to get to know the characters and their circumstances! It’s a fun historical mystery series with a great cast of recurring characters working together.
A suspicious party invitation has Emma and her friends curious and excited. On the one hand, it’s a chance to wear the fabulous dresses they bought on a recent adventure in Paris! But the strange choices in who has been invited, and the private or secretive nature of the hosts means they have a feeling something isn’t quite right.
There’s plenty going on in this book as characters have lots to prepare for – a wedding, the party, performances. Add in a young girl that Emma and Jeremy have suddenly ended up responsible for, everyone’s got a lot on their plate!
This book gets five stars from me. A great addition to the series!

The art in this book is so beautiful, and my heart really hurt reading this one. Putting your pet down is very heartbreaking not only for you as the human but for any pet friends they had. I teared up on this one, but it is a great learning tool to explain to children why their pet would have to be put to sleep permanently.

Cade Dawkins is a State Patrol Investigator for Minnesota. He doesn’t resemble a cop but boy does he know how to be one. He is giving an opportunity to run a task force but really its just him at least a for a little bit. It becomes evident that there are some serial killers lurking around and its up to him and his team to find them and put them where they belong. There are twists throughout the book and I for one was very shocked about the ending. I never imagined it would end how it did. I feel like I need to mention that there is another book before this book “Killer Blonde”. I have a feeling that I should have read that one first but I definitely will read it now.

Great short add on to the Notebook Mysteries series. Finally Savannah and Ethan’s wedding has arrived, but not without some mysterious goings on. It was nice to see Emma and Jeremy being parental, I can’t wait for them to finally get married, and that John Harden and Emma kind of buried the hatchet. She is of course still wary of him but he was just as shocked as she was at the party. Gregory is a little mad and it was time he was stopped.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are full of mystery and characters that bring life to the story. This book is no different. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series as well. They will help your enhancement of the characters and series. This is a shorter Christmas mystery that you don’t want to miss. A story about Emma and an invitation to a party that she is confused about why the invite was sent. Emma is my favorite of the characters. I enjoy her determination and what she adds to the story. This is a fast paced story that I read in one sitting. It is hard to put down and kept me engaged to the end. I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is the first story I have read by this author and I loved every minute of it. Jordan and Lex’s chemistry jumped off the page and with there history you get the understanding that these two were destiny to become one. I loved the secondary characters in this story as they gave the book another dimension and drawn you in from the first word.
The story was well written and the characters were well developed with always makes a book more interesting to read. I look forward to reading more books by this wonderful author in the future.

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed reading and look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I enjoyed his attention to details that made his story feel realistic and easy to read. A well written story where a detective is in a race against time to find some serial killers. Cade has found a web site for serial killers, not only that but they are targeting him as well. Find out what happens to him. He is a great character that is strong and determined. He is relatable and my favorite of the story. The characters add so much to this story’s entertaining value. I found this book to be fast paced and hard to put down. An engaging story that is full of mystery and suspense. I highly recommend reading this book.

Wow, good read. This book is so informative and scary. I really liked learning the history of the atomic bomb and nuclear weapons, some of which most already know of, dating back to Madam Curie. Hiroshima and Nagasaki still weigh on me and I can’t comprehend all of the death. I really like the glimpse into having bomb dropped in New York, how far it’s reach would be and what would occur afterwards. It was nice to see the breakdown of what to do in the event of a nuclear fall out as well. The whole book was very well researched and thought out, and a very intriguing read.

I enjoyed reading Ignite My Heart. Being a nanny myself, I can totally relate haha! I liked the 2 main characters along with Ciara. This book is about a woman named Blake who has had nothing but bad luck for as long as she can remember. Her marriage fell apart, her husband decided he wanted a divorce when she could t get pregnant and then married another woman who was pregnant with his baby. Blake was laid off and now she is staying in a dark dilapidated backwoods cottage of a friends for free.
Blake’s brother decides to introduce her to his friend Morgan who is looking for a live-in nanny. At first, Blake gets annoyed and walks out but after getting home to a leak, she decides maybe it’s not such a bad thing after all.
Morgan has big baby mama drama. His daughter is 9 years old and now all of a sudden, Fawn wants to see her daughter and wants custody of her.
Morgan and Blake have so much sexual tension that they try so hard to fight until they can’t anymore. Will Blake just be a nanny with benefits or will Morgan finally show her how much she means to him and have a real relationship with her? This is the first book I’ve read by this author and thought it was a good read.

Loved it! I feel like Aspen is just continually let down by her friends, family and Phoenix. She feels like nobody is there for her and she is alone, but she can’t keep away from Phoenix, they have this pull between them. I hate how he treats her when we all know deep down he cares for her more than he thinks. The ending is a cliff hanger and I’m dying for the next book!!

This is such a great addition to the Notebook Mysteries series. This novella was fast paced and full of moving parts in the plot. Past characters resurface and Emma is thrown into the middle of trying to figure out the line between trust and suspicion. And on top of that, she and Jeremy are now guardians of a small girl. I really think we are going to see Emma grow more in her roles as the series continues. Looking forward to the next installment!
Nic Rivers came out of the army and has settled in the sleepy town of Eider but when she is asked to take point as a sniper against a man threatening his wife and kids her demons come out and she has trouble pushing them away. When one night she calls the inly person who can help her Con O’Hanlon who can chase the nightmares away.
When she is asked to join the task force they uncover that there is a killer on the loose that is setting up murders to look like suicides, but can they discover who the Priest is and stop them before more murders occurs?
I have read other books by this author before and this series does not disappoint. Winter has the gift of drawing you into the story and creating characters who are flawed but are strong and overcome the issues to get the job down, especially her females characters are full of sassy but also are happy to show the vulnerability.
This story has the twists and turns of a good thriller, with excellent writing and character development. The chemistry between the main characters flew off the page and with the addition of the secondary characters adding to the drama I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series and get to see Nic and Con’s relationship development more.

Atonement is a romantic thriller with plenty of drama and turns. Centering around Nicolette Rivers, a female sniper that leaves the Marines because of PTSD, this book brings many things to the surface about real emotions and feelings. I do wish there was more of a clear explanation on how or why the PTSD started, or what happened to cause the departure. I also was disappointed that the killer was very easy for me to figure out early on, but the character development and story saved the day on that. This is the first book in The McIntire series, so I am looking forward to seeing where the story leads next, and this is definitely worth the read.

I loved reading how Emma and Jeremy dealt with taking on Henrietta and how the whole family dealt with it. The whole Christmas party, that was a total mystery that had me guessing. I love Emma’s events and what comes up. Such a wonderful series. All of the characters and the writing make for such a great cozy series. This Christmas novella is my favorite in the series so far just because of the cases and issues that came up. The way they were dealt with is easy to relate to. He’s back. Cade is on the hunt for another serial killer. Oh, this one is just as good as book 1 was. This has become one of my favorite series. The action is palpable. The story and writing are just as fantastic. This is one great journey to find the killer. I could not put this down. I had several moments of finding I had held my breath during those exciting moments. This is another absolute must read. I can’t wait for the next book.

Wow! This is a heck of a thriller. Cop chasing a psycho serial killer. The adventure kept me glued to this one. I love this kind of book. Any book that keeps you on the edge of your seat and grateful that you don’t fit the killer’s type, is a great mystery. The writing is top notch and kept me engaged all the way. I couldn’t put it down. The characters are memorable and were perfect for this mystery. This is definitely an author I’ll be adding to my favorites list.

Amaleigha is given the opportunity to write to children in other countries by her teacher, Mr Bowles.
Before they are able to write to children in Ukraine, they learn more about the country, such as it is the second largest European country.
After learning a bit about the country, Amaleigha is excited to write to her pen pal to ask them questions about the country!
The day arrives where she is finally able to write to her pen pal! Mr. Bowles passes out notecards with names and Amaleigha writes to Vova. She tells him about her family, where she goes to school and even her favorite food.
They wait for the responses and sometime later, Amaleigha receives hers. Vova tells Amaleigha that they are learning about America in school and reading books by Ukrainian authors. He also explains about his daily life and that he may want to be an artist.
Reading this made me wish that we had done something similar to this when I was in school. It seems like a great way to discover more about a different country and how other people live. In one correspondence, Amaleigha and other students read a letter that mentions war with Russia which causes the students to be worried about their pen pals and the people of Ukraine.
I went into this thinking it was going to be a short read. It was a lot more descriptive and an emotional roller coaster than I thought.
I learned a lot about Ukraine. War is scary and just because war is not happening around someone, doesn’t mean one shouldn’t stay informed or finds ways to help.

Another great episode of crime TV! This author truly knows what they are talking about when it comes to crime. Just like Killer Blonde, these killers are very stereotypical. Cade is a great detective, and the author does a great job depicting his personality in this novel. I love how developed the characters are and that the author does not cut corners when it comes to the plot and the characters. I cannot get past the predictableness of the novel, which is why I rated it four stars rather than five.
Also, I want to talk about Reynolds. She is a great character, but Cade had to have known better than canoodle with a news reporter. I am glad that Cade found a new person that will hopefully treat him the way he deserves to be treated. Overall this book is so good and if you love a good crime novel then this series is for you!

Ali and her twin brother were orphaned but they were fortunate enough to be taken in by a caring foster family once they were old enough they head on to live their own lives. Ali gets a message that her brother was killed in a bombing but she’s having a hard time believing it because she’s hearing him and feeling him and she heads to Hoh rain forest in hopes of either finding him or a clue as to where to find him , but she meets up with a rainstorm and end up on the doorstep of a cabin ..,,
Said cabin belongs to Joe Bob Blade , famous singer that needs time to heal , he’s not to utter a word and when you’re on your own it’s easy but when you get an unexpected house guest that piques your interest things become a little harder and definitely a lot more interesting 😉
Being stuck together on a cabin with awful weather outside ms not much else to do could lead to steamy moments without real steam I know that sounds confusing but you’ll get it when you read this and once back in reality both have a hard time forgetting each other and will they find they way to each other !?

If you enjoy crime shows, this book is for you. Reading this book was synonymous with watching a crime TV show. I was not necessarily surprised by any of the actions of the plot/characters. Both were very well developed, just predictable. It also stereotypes both serial killers and detectives/police officers.
Overall I definitely enjoyed the book. The author is a fantastic writer and reels you in from the first sentence. Even though it was predictable, I cannot wait to dive into the next book in this series to find out what comes next for this detective!
