4.5 stars Firewall is a compelling romantic suspense tale. For some reason The Pelican Brief popped into my head when I was reading it. Jessica’s narrative pulls the reader in to the world she has created and the characters. This tale is told in dual POV allowing us to get another layer to the characters. With lots of twists and turns things are heating up on the path to survival. The intensity of the suspense is palpable making the pages turn and before you know it, it is over, and you have read it in one sitting. Veronica has unwittingly stumbled across something that put her in the crosshairs of those who wanted to keep it buried. This short tale is fast paced but it packs a punch and leaves you wanting more. An unexpected betrayal makes her wonder who can she trust? If you enjoy romantic suspense stories, then you will like this one. I highly recommended.
This book was an escape to another world. It was pure excitement to read and get lost in the writing. The description of the scenery and the complexity of the characters is riveting. This book is not the first in the series but when I say that it is okay if you haven’t read the others; I actually mean it. The author does an amazing job with making sure that the reader is able to pick up and carry on through the book as if they have read the entire series up to this point. That speaks volumes upon volumes of the amazing writing that is in this book. It was also a quick read for me because of the story line and how I just couldn’t put the book down without knowing what was going to happen next. The characters make you fall in love with them. You will go through emotions that they are going through. There is amazing chemistry in this book with the characters and the steam is off the charts. The magic, suspense, steamy times, and wonderful characters; will leave you wanting to read every book in this series. It is a great escape to a complete amazing place that you never knew you needed.

I cannot get enough of this series and author. In this book we get to understand Jude and Angelina on a more intimate level. Jude is the reticent Hawke. You learn about his childhood, his foster fathers, and why he struggles in his everyday life.
Angelina is beyond kind hearted and cares for Jude and has since she met him when he was 10 years old. Jude fell in love with Angelina as soon as he laid eyes on her. I cannot get enough of them. I am excited for more of the Hawke family drama. There is a little intimacy but not too much. Highly recommend to any romance reader.

4.5 stars One thing I like about Courtney’s stories is that even though they are fantasy, paranormal, supernatural and romance tales they are as different as night and day and that keeps it interesting. Vampires of Atlantis is the first book in the Atlantis Trilogy and is as original as it is refreshing. I found myself engrossed in this unique urban fantasy tale. Courtney has done it again and given us a story that is easy to get lost in and invested in the outcome. Atlantis, vampires, werewolves and other creatures are woven together in this tangled web of survival. I love that the Courtney makes things realistic but in a paranormal way. The world building that has been created where Vampires dwell is easily imagined and is only limited by one’s imagination. Getting to explore the nuances of Atlantis, the lore and treasures is just as intriguing. Its tale is told from dual POV, so you get a much more in depth look at the characters and the world they belong in. There is violence, a little sexiness, and insta love. Katherine was left for dead, but a stranger helped her. Now she is faced with a decision to help the person who helped her. To face danger in a battle for survival of the Descendants of Atlantis from a true evil. I hope this is a start to a new series. As always, I am looking forward to more from the talented Ms Courtney and the Atlantis Trilogy. Bring on the second book Aristotle’s Wolves.

Liz’s Road Trip by Bernadette Marie is a delightful contemporary romance story. One quirky young woman. One cat. Secrets from the past. A road trip. A romance. The characters are engaging and well developed with flaws and with their own distinct personalities. Whilst Liz did annoy me a few times I did enjoy the story. This story has everything that makes it a sweet read that is full of grief and sorrow, passion and some humour, hope and love, steam and some wit. This story is also full of secrets and fears, reflection and healing. This compelling story is full of twists, turns and a few loops. It is so easy to get lost in this tale and before you know it you have come to the end. It is also told in dual POV which is my favourite way to tell a story. Liz’s Road Trip reveals secrets of a woman simply known as Grandma to her. It appears there was a lot more to Grandma than she ever knew. A life that she never knew about. Revealing her grandma’s past is helped along by a stranger. As she peels back the layers of her grandma’s life, she learns how to truly live. As always, I look forward to more from Bernadette.

Unexpected Heroes by Naomi Valkyrie – I really enjoy reading Naomi’s work and was delighted to see she had a story in this anthology. This is a MM second chance small town romance where love is found in the most unlikely of places but when one mans past rears its ugly head, love will have to take a backseat for the safety of him and his son. Starting over is the right thing but why does it feel so lonely. Once broken by lost love now a sexy new single dad mends his heart, and he will do everything he can to save the man he now loves and his son. This suspense story is a definite page turner. I can’t wait to read more.
Quin to the Rescue by L.A. Remenicky – This is a cute, sweet tale with furry friends. A rescue by her sexy next-door neighbour a man in uniform. Who said it was only firemen who came to the rescue of a sassy female with claws? It looks like cops will help out as well. This light-hearted quick read left me wanting more.
Heroes & Hurricanes by TK Eldridge – Is an exciting romantic thriller. The surprises kept me on my toes. It had just the right amount of tension and suspense as a storm rolls into town. That is not all that rolls into town, but a storm is the perfect cover when you are after someone. Will he be able to get to her before it is too late? Hang on to your seats when reading this one.
Into the Flames by Dawn Luedecke – This wonderful fun small town high school nemesis romance tale had me laughing out loud at times. Broken hearts, lost love, burned trust and one fundraiser is what you will find in this sweet tale. Fake it till you make it! A happy ever after that will leave you wanting more.
Broken Pieces by Amelia Hayden – This heartfelt tale is a bit of an emotional read. It is a MM romance tale that will pull on the ol’ heartstrings. Not everyone returns home from war the same and he was one of those people. He suddenly finds his whole world shattered into pieces. Will he be able to find himself again? Well, you will just have to read it to find out.
Unbreak My Heart by Jade Marshall – This sexy story is a sister’s ex-husband. Already burnt is he willing to risk his heart again? It’s not his job that is going to set him on fire it is the most beautiful woman he can’t keep off his mind that sets the sheets on fire. Oh boy do they catch on fire.
Each story is the first book in brand new series. This collection of romance stories by these talented authors are hot and oh so sexy. Each and every story is original and just as intriguing and enjoyable as the next. Each author captivates you with their version of longing and want for that one person that makes you whole. Some are sweet, some are full of tension, some are full of angst and suspense and others so much more. I laughed. I cried. There was romance, and heartbreak. There was a secondary, behind-the scenes romance. The author explored the theme of hanging onto the past versus living only for the future. The characters were amazingly well-thought-out and developed. What a collaboration!

4.5 stars Granting Katelyn is the second book in the heartfelt western romance series Sweet Valley by SE. I really enjoyed the first book where I was introduced to this author and her work. So, make sure you start with Raising Elle first you will not be disappointed. The plot is well thought out with well-rounded yet complex characters with depth and lots of supporting characters some you will love and others not so much. It is an emotional read that is full of pain and suffering, heartbreak and heartache that jumps off the pages it is so palpable. It is a story of a man who suffers from long term emotional abuse, and it is sometimes tough reading. It is a heartfelt tale that will make your heart ache. Grant already a broken man (thanks to his manipulative a’hole father) but now more so after an horrific accident just like his horse is now broken too. When he reaches out for help with his horse, he may just find a way to heal himself and finally find peace. Katelyn is a strong, confident woman who must find a way to work with a man damaged by his past and present and heal his horse. There are plenty of sexy and steamy scenes where sparks fly in one way or another. There is also very colourful and strong language that doesn’t bother me in the least, but it may offend some so I thought I would mention it. Follow along on this sweet journey of healing. I look forward to the next instalment of the Sullivan family.
4.5 stars Leaving No Traces is the fifth book in the A Commissario Scala Mystery in Rome crime series. Even though this book is part of a series, you can read it just as easily as a standalone novel. The story is well paced with lots of tension, suspense, and mystery. There are realistic interactions between the characters some likeable and some not. The plot and world building are intriguing as we journey along with Detective Scala and others in solving this latest murder mystery. It is easy to become invested in the outcome of the story with its drama that is entertaining and interesting. Detective Scala must tread carefully when trying to wade through another web of deceit and corruption. What he finds just leads him to the underbelly of a world that criminals reside. A place where lives mean nothing. His goal is to catch the killer, protect a key witness and keep himself alive doing so. If you like whodunnits with ruthless villains, then you will enjoy this tale by P. J. Mann.

This book is a fun and entertaining story. It is an enemies to lovers Romance but had a much more relaxed and most than most books of this type do. The main characters had such a great connection. I loved watching their relationship build as the book went on. This is a well written book that draws you in. I found myself chuckling away a few times while reading the book and I connected with thr characters so easily. This was a great book to pass an afternoon away and I would highly recommend it.

This book is another great story I a brilliant series. I was caught up in the mystery right from the start and had to see how things would play out. It was an exciting story, full of twists and turns. I never quite knew where it was going to go next. This is the only series I have read by this author but it ilhad been a great way to become familiar with their work. I am.really enjoying their writing style and how fast paced and full on each book seems to be. I will certainly be reading more from them in the future.

Little did Liz know that her grandmother was an actress and she had several affairs of the heart and Mark is the writer who she was collaborating with on her biography. Throw in an undeniable attraction to Mark and you have the making of a wonderful story.
I liked that this book was unpredictable. I wanted to know more about Liz’s grandmother Betsy from the beginning. I thought Liz was great, I appreciated that she was having a tough time especially when there was so many secrets. Mark was intriguing, I really enjoyed how the build up with the Mark and Liz story unfolded.

Heavy Shot is Book Seven of the Nashville Assassins: Next Generation series. This is a sports romance book that centers around the characters of Austen and Dimitri. Austen has had a rough life full of abuse and neglect. She has learned to be strong and wants to make her grandfather proud, so she takes a job with the Assassins. Dimitri is back from playing hockey in Russia and comes to try out for the Assassins team. When a mix-up with housing occurs Dimitri and Austen end up in the same apartment. Although at first the two do not necessarily hit it off they eventually reach a truce. The witty banter, teasing, and chemistry between them builds as they get to know one another better.
This was a well written book with an engaging storyline and lovable characters. Austen has had a horrific past full of abuse and trauma but has not let that deter her from having a bright future. She learned to be strong, assertive, feisty and stand on her own two feet. Dimitri comes across as being cocky and arrogant initially but as the story unfolds, we see another side of him. He is sweet, kind, and gentle with Austen which was wonderful to read. The author did a beautiful job of writing about sensitive subject matter and the after effects a survivor of abuse experiences. The love story between Austen and Dimitri was inspiring. A wonderful story full of angst, witty banter, humor, hope, love, passion, and romance. I highly recommend this book!

Mr. Lucky is Book One in the Trentbridge Tales Series. It is a fast-paced, British Crime Thriller that centers around the character of former Detective James Sheldon. James is no longer a Detective and luck really has not been on his side at all. James has not only lost his career, but he has also lost his family, is homeless, and has sunken into self-despair. When he suddenly wins a substantial amount of money in the lottery things should look up for him. Instead, James’ life takes a turn for the worse as he is in a battle to survive against numerous people who suddenly seem to have it out for him. Will he be able to outrun, outwit, outfox, and out maneuver the savory characters intent on destroying him?
This was a well written book with a compelling storyline and interesting characters. James was down-on-his-luck with no hope for a bright future. He had sunken into self-loathing and despair until winning the lottery. Coming into millions of dollars should have instantly improved his life but as luck would have it, life got infinitely worse. James had to pull himself together and dig down deep for the strength to save his life from those after him. This was a fast paced, edge of your seat, intense psychological thrill ride that will rivet you and have you reading until the end. I highly recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this novel with a gritty, determined, realistic heroine. Jessica Watts was abandoned by her parents and had to grow up fast in order to survive. She doesn’t let anyone get close and is the tough-as-nails heroine you’d think she’d be. However, when a Mexican tycoon approaches her to help him find his missing daughter, Jessica can’t walk away from the pay-out he’s offering. This mission takes Jessica on every twist and turn imaginable and leaves her for dead more than once. Definitely check out this book if you love mysteries and tough on the outside, but soft on the inside heroines.
This is the 2nd book in the series; however, you can read it as a stand alone…the only thing you are missing out on is really getting to know Detective Scala (but you get that in this book…you just don’t have it from the beginning). I love a good mystery thriller and P.J. Mann did not disappoint with this one. The dual perspectives between Detective Scala and the killer was *chef’s kiss* and probably my favorite part about the entire book (I love a good dual perspective). I really like Mann’s writing style and look forward to reading more.

This book is hysterical! The premise of the book is ingenious. I find the pop culture references quite amusing. The artwork is incredibly beautiful. It reminds me of the forest witch luring children to her candy-adorned hut in the woods.

This is a cute retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk with a twist. Wickstrom’s take on classic fairytales are unique and this one is no different. In this version, we get the giant’s perspective and what he plans to do with Jack; however, Jack outsmarts him with some quick problem-solving. I always enjoys the way she weaves lessons into her stories and the illustrations are always interesting and special.

Reticent Hawke is the Second Book in The Hawke Family Second Generation Series. This is a forbidden romance, older woman, friends to lover’s story told from multiple POV’s. The story centers around the characters of Jude and Angelina. Jude was not born into the Hawke family but was adopted by them, so he is considered family. He had a rough childhood which has left him traumatized and weary of human touch. Angelina/Angie is a member of the Hawke family and is 12 years older than Jude. She is the only person who has been able to reach Jude and the only person that he feels comfortable with. Angie and Jude feel a very strong connection and bond between them that goes beyond being family. They are intensely attracted to one another and find it hard to work through the feelings they have towards one another.
This book was beautifully written and took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The characters of Jude and Angie were instantly lovable and relatable, and the storyline hit close to home for me. As an older woman who met, fell in love, and married a younger man I can fully understand society’s view of this type of a relationship. It is socially acceptable for older men to date younger women but not necessarily the other way around. My husband is fifteen years my junior and even I struggled with the age gap and how society would view our relationship. The author did a wonderful job of writing about this reverse age gap romance. I found myself rooting for Jude and Angie to be together. This book has angst, drama, passion, family, hope, romance, tension, and love. I loved this book and cannot wait for the next one in the series! I highly recommend this book!

It has been a bit since I have read previous books in this world. This is a nice story that incorporates characters from the previous stories but could also be read as a stand alone. I had met the main characters of this story previously but knew little about them. I kind of wish there was more to their individual stories other than watching, eating and time spent in the Den of Sin. There really wasn’t too much else until the third came Into play. I was slightly disappointed as I was expecting another great story in this world filled different characters. I did not feel much of a connection between the two Watchers but I did with their respective partner.
Overall This did not hold up to what I was expecting. It is an okay story without a lot of angst or action and not my favorite of the series. It was nice seeing the old characters and their familiars again.

What an awesome story! I loved this one! It is action packed with suspense, drama and MC goodness. This one covers a problem I have not read about before so that intrigued me. The author does a good job at weaving a story from beginning to the end then tying it all up in a web. The story flowed really well as it is told from different characters perspectives. The author does a good job of putting me in the moment. I was really worried and freaked out just lije the characters..I even felt their panic and was many times just “ go, Go, GO!”
Overall this is a great story incorporating multiple clubs with its large cast of characters. I felt Taz’s story was told on point and she did not get pushed to the back for the overall storyline. This easily could be a stand alone but I would suggest reading the series to get how connected all these characters are. Plus it was wonderful seeing the boys from Grimm Wolves MC as a cameo. This one I highly recommend if you are a person who enjoys MC reads with a spin on them and crazy good characters with depth. Well done!

He gets to his new apartment, and it’s filled with stuff from what we think is the previous tenant. Austen thinks someone has broken into her apartment. Austen and Dimitri get into a scuffle about the apartment, but it ends up working out for them in the end. Austen is here training to be a GM for her grandpa’s team he is trying to build. Austen escaped a cult and is trying to live her life and learn who she is. With Dimitri by her side they are able to conquer and win together. Murder in a Gated Community by Laura Koerber- 4 out of 5 stars
I was surprised by this read to say the least. At times I was laughing, I never would have expected that from a book with Murder in the title. The author brings life to this gated retirement community of seniors. Each senior has their own back story with love, secrets, and heartache. I love how well rounded the character development is throughout the book. I do wish the author would have brought everything to a solid end but maybe she has more in-store for us in the future.

Wow! From a strong business woman, to an unrelenting stalker, to a sexy ex special forces neighbor, this book has it all! The author gives just enough away to keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more. I absolutely love Cade and Kiera’s character development. The romantic chemistry portrayed between them was palpable, to say the least. I gobbled this book up in one session without putting it down. Truly can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for the future.

This is a sweet contemporary romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters making the reader feel like they know them and are invested in their lives. This is a story about finding love when you least expect it. It is a story of fear, compassion, love and angst. There is some sensitive topics touched up such as the loss of a friend in horrific circumstances, and history of a bad childhood that the author writes about in a very respectful and sensitive way.
Holly was a nurse in the emergency department of the hospital. After witnessing her friend murdered before her and being unable to save her it has left Holly with a lot of trauma and doubting what she wants to do with her life. Since they she volunteers as a nurse at music festivals. As she trys to rebuild her life her grandmother has a fall. When Holly rushes to her side her grandmother tells her she needs to keep working on the project else it won’t get going. So Holly agrees and this is how she meets Christopher. Christopher has had a pretty rough start in life and he is trying everything to prove that the violence he grew up with isn’t inside of him. He started working on this research project with Holly’s grandmother to provide and safe space for children who are going through or witnessed violence. Christopher’s idea is that gardening could produce some therapeutic benefit for these children. When Holly takes over in her grandmothers place the connection between her and Kit gets stronger and the attraction grows. Can this relationship really work? Will the gardening therapy actually help Holly heals some of her wounds? And what happens when Christopher’s demons raise their heads is he strong enough to fight them to protect the woman he’s falling for and the children he wants to help so badly?
This is a sweet romance about 2 people who are struggling with demons and wounds from their past working together and finding a way of not only healing themselves but each other in the process

This is a very interesting story. I liked the action in it I found the story premise to the be intriguing. He loses everything and spirals down. All of a sudden, he wins the lottery and everyone is after him. There is plenty of adventure and drama. The characters are quite well-written. It’s an intriguing drama that will grab you right from the beginning. I highly recommend it.

This book is beautiful. The pages were so colorful it just kind of draws you in. The poetry itself is wonderful. I loved all of the references to pop culture and music sprinkled throughout. The words of these poems wrap around your mind with beautiful imagery.
