This is definitely a book geared toward middle-schoolers; however, it’s a very quick, heartfelt read that many adults will enjoy. We meet Neyah and Abby who are pen pals learning about each other’s lives through a school assignment. As the story progresses, the girls quickly realize that while their lives are vastly different, they both are facing very real and serious obstacles. I found this story to be very inspiring and Bleckwehl’s message of maintaining hope through adversity and having kindness and empathy for everyone to be something that we all need to remember and perhaps exhibit a little more in our daily lives. I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading more from her.

All I can say is what another incredible book. I enjoyed the other books just as much as I enjoyed this one. It’s a supernatural thriller and filled with everything you could imagine a supernatural book would be filled with, from magic, vampires, demons, witches, travel, mystery, suspense, action, twists and turns that I was not expecting. This book just like the other ones kept me on edge and wanting to know what was going to happen next, I couldn’t put it down or read fast enough to find out what was going to happen next. The book continues its story right from the other books, so highly suggest reading the others first, you won’t be disappointed, you’ll be more disappointed that you didn’t. the story has multiple points of views and having back stories and different times always makes the story a very interesting and exciting read. the overall book was well written so much that it was almost made you feel like you were right there with the characters and in the story that you could feel and touch everything and experience everything in the same time. This story does focus more on the Tall Dark Man and he’s desire for vengeance but that didn’t take away from how amazing this series has been. Highly recommend.

The first in the Vine Valley series, A Toast for Laurent centers around Phoebe and Laurent. These two were college friends, in love and had a pact: if neither of them is married by the time they were 40, they would marry each other. The thing is, Phoebe left, leaving Laurent heart-broken and alone. Then out of the blue, she returns to Laurent, to collect on their pact. The premise of the story had me hooked! The characters and the story are well-written. I loved the attention to detail the author gave each character. If you love second- chance romances, this is one for your reading list.

Hole in the Rock is a book for kids between the ages of 10 to 14. Although intended for a younger audience I feel that it is a story that anyone could enjoy. The story centers around the character of Lizza, a twelve-year-old girl living in Moab, Utah. Lizza is smart, funny, fun-loving, and a huge lover of animals which can sometimes get her in trouble. She often rescues animals that are abandoned or injured and brings them home. Lizza even brought home a tarantula, much to her mother’s horror once it got loose in the house! When her dad decides to become a Taxidermist Lizza is horrified and determined to save the animals, so she sabotages his billboard that advertises his business. Then things get even worse for Lizza when her dad moves their family into a cave that is a tourist attraction and has strangers constantly wandering through her home. Lizza is determined to live in a real home again so she involves environmentalists and animal rights groups thinking that they can help. What Lizza did not expect is for matters to become worse for her family and for her actions to have unintended consequences. This was such a fun read as Lizza manages to get herself into one humorous situation after another. I highly recommend this book!

This book is the first of the series. It’s also the first book I’ve read by this author. It was a good read. If you love second chance romance, this is for you.
Phoebe and Laurent make a pact. If neither are married by the time they are 40, they marry each other. That was, of course, before Phoebe left and broke Laurent’s heart. Now she’s back wanting Laurent to hold up his end of the pact. As hesitant as he is, he agrees but there is a condition. Phoebe can’t fall in love with him. Laurent isn’t sure he could handle that a second time.
This was such a good read. The characters are so relatable in terms of letting fear influence choices and decisions. It was a well written story that pulls you in and you can’t wait to see how it unfolds! I highly recommend!

Ladies of the Links (Ladies of the Links Book 2) by Haley Rhoades. This is such a fun, emotional second chance romance. Its the story of Christy and Ryan who were high school sweethearts. Ryan loves Christy but he loves football more and with that choice Christy leaves and doesn’t look back. When she does return to town with twin girls in tow she begins working as the Pool manager at the Club in her neighborhood. When Ryan shows up to join she is caught so off guard. I love a good sports romance book especially when there are animals in it too. I really liked the chemistry between Heath and Grace. I thought the story was very sweet and Heath was persistent. Grace’s stubbornness to her feelings stood no chance. I enjoyed the overall story and it was a quick read. I also liked their bantering as well.

This is one of those books that hits you in the feels hard and leaves you quite emotional. I haven’t cried while reading in a while until this book. The tears were happy, sad and at times angry but I was not going to put the book down long enough to wipe them away.
Oh Tessa. What an incredibly strong and smart woman. She is understandably apprehensive on developing a relationship with anyone and Simon scared her for so many reasons, she didn’t know if she could ever unlock her heart but Simon found a way.
I was reluctant to read this because I had a feeling it was going to make me cry. I’m so glad I did and I fell in love with everything about their story.
Keep a box of kleenex close and be prepared to deal with all of your feelings. It’s 100% worth it.

Hole in the Rock by Rebecca Bischoff. This is a great book for kids ages 8-12. My 10 year old nephew loved it. Its the story of Lizza who’s father is a taxidermist and she hates it. The story begins with her messing up her father’s business billboard and that causes a huge problem. She loves all animals and wants to save them all. Learning that not all people are going to agree on things and that’s ok is a huge lesson in this book. Also learning to work together even when we don’t have the same views. Such a fun read for kids big and small. Would also make a great gift!

For myself, this book started out a bit slow. I’m glad I didn’t give up on it. What an amazing story. Such well thought out characters, the story is deep-rooted in mythology , and is very interesting to read. All of the worlds blend well together the flow is nice. I enjoyed the story very much and highly recommend this book if you like a bit of horror and supernatural worlds in your reading.

Lizza is quite the little character. At 12, she doesn’t like the career her father chose. Her actions to thwart his shop will have you laughing. The characters are terrific and each a unique personality. Her little brother has a spot in my heart. He seems to have autism. I think the younger crowd will love the adventures Lizza and her friends have. Even us old people will enjoy it. A very good book.

Heath Bailey is on top of his sport, with his team just winning the Championship and riding high, what more does he want or need but with his friends finding that special someone he feels its time to put his love’ em and leave them attitude behind him and settle down. So, when he is invited to am event at the animal shelter his worst nightmare appears but when after the event he can’t stop thinking of the bossy, rude woman is there something there.
Grace Dyer has her dream job which she loves with all her heart, the only problem is she is only just scrapping by. When she decides to organise an event for the Animal Shelter in walks the cocky, arrogant ball player, Heath Bailey. The man infuriates her and boils her blood but once the event is over, she kind wants him around, but when she meets him again at his sister’s hospital bed there is an attraction which she can’t really pin down but as she gets to know the real him, he starts to get into her heart and her head.
This is the third book in this series and it brilliant just like the other stories in this series. You get to see some of the characters in the other books, but it was lovely to see the interactions and the chemistry between these two in a full story. The book is well written and can be read as a stand-alone story but the other books are brilliant in their own right would make a great addition to you TBR list.
I loved the interaction between Grace and Cash and the understanding that in the end they were perfect for each other. The sassy character of Grace was just what Heath needed to put him in his place and the fact that Grace called his bull and vice a versa was refreshing to read and be a part of. I love the fact that these books make you feel like you in there world with them as a cherished friend and I hope there is another book or two to continue this series.

Maria has decided to get control of her life, divorcing her husband who to be fair she only really married as she thought her mother would approve but as the years have gone on, she has discovered she is bored and has never really been in love. With divorce now final and her ex-husband kicking out of the house with their daughter she has only one place that is safe, her sister Holly’s.
Maria then drive’s to Holly’s only to discover that she is not home but a rather sexy rocker is in her place, once realising that it’s Holly and Sam’s wedding and she should be there, panicking she agrees to stay with Oz and take the trip together, but can she stay away from the sexy rocker or should she just let loose and do something for her for a change.
Oz has agreed to look after Sam and Holly’s house while they are away on honeymoon but when Holly’s sister turns up her has a feeling of protection and attraction towards her and her daughter. Although he has enough in his life looking after his sisters’ children and his mother her is drawn to Maria and Reilly which he can not understand. Swearing against acting on his feelings he is given a great opportunity to go further in the band, but it means that Maria will technically become his boss and those affairs never go well, but can he stay away.
I loved this story of heartbreak but also discovery which had me turning the pages to finish this beautiful tale. Maria’s character in the beginning I felt a bit wishy washy but are the story progressed you saw her come out of her shell and become a strong woman who in the end knew what she wanted. Oz, I have to say has been added to the long list of book boyfriends as his character was so empathic and was also struggling with the internal conversations of being attracted to her but was it right which had me internally shouting “just do it, follow your heart”.
The secondary characters added to the whole flow of the story, and I hope there are another few books along to the to let us into the world of Cash and Travis all but a few. Although this is the second book in this series, I feel this story can be read as a standalone. I look forward to reading more in this series and the others.

A Toast for Laurent is a sweet/spicy second chance romance. Of course it doesn’t come without sorrow and heartache. The author definitely pulls at the reader’s heartstrings with this book. When Laurent and Phoebe made their marriage pact 18 years ago, Laurent never expected Phoebe was going to run away from his life. Now she’s back and they are both playing with fire. Laurent wants to help her but at what costs. Laurent is driven by his heart. While Phoebe is driven by fear. That’s a lethal combination, being it never leads to anything good. Will Laurent be able to honor the marriage pact? What will his family think? The author navigates this second chance romance beautifully. Also makes you feel for the characters. I understand Phoebe’s fears, but I feel a kinship with Laurent and what he’s going through. I look forward to reading other books by this author in the future.

This was a thrilling 5 star read. This is one of my favorite genres, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. Serafina and Salvatores story definitely takes you for a dark and twisted ride. These two have a connection that consumes you. Salvatore is focused on revenge and Serafina has dreams but will still protect her family when she needs to. We get so much in this book, suspense, action, drama, and so much more. I love how the author switches between the main character’s point of view, especially how in sync the timing according to years ago and becoming less and less years as you read on. I also like each of the character’s development. The story does flow really well and has some unexpected turns of events.

Fantastic story that gave me what I love about vampire romance…intriguing story, vampires, healers, glamour, secrets, danger, time present and past, and with a romance that never died with twists and turns along the way…the story of Evariste and Caitlin had me from page 1.
There has always been a connection between Evariste and Caitlin, but in this day and age, Caitlin had no idea what was to become of her and her connection to Evariste until she was head of a project when other clients were interested in buying Evariste’s business.

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book 2) is an Audiobook I absolutely loved listening to. This is my first Audiobook by this author and the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life with different tones of their voice. I wasn’t real sure what to expect going in but once I started listening I couldn’t stop. I literally listened on the way to work every day and couldn’t wait for the drive home. This is a story about second chances and obsession ,family. What will this artist do? He will not stop until he gets what he wants. I This authors style of writing and fully developed characters make for quite the ride. I highly recommend listening to this fast paced story to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to seeing what other books this author has written. P

I love a good vampire love story so when I read about this book, I was excited to read it. The book did not disappoint.
Caitlin has been counting down the minutes to her well deserved vacation, that is until her boss gives her a last minute job that will cut into her personal time. She has to go to a property and scope it out for her clients who are potential buyers of the company. The owner of the company, Evariste, has no interest in selling his company and skips the meeting with Caitlin but after his sister blindsides him with her as a dinner guest, he is all of a sudden for Caitlin snooping around.
Evariste thinks that Caitlin is his dead wife reincarnated based on her unique colored eyes matching hers exactly. Caitlin remembers nothing of her past life, if she is even the wife. Evariste tries to get her to remember by traveling back into the past. He tries to get her to trust him and fall back in love with him. They were fated mates after all. Can Caitlin trust him? With danger lurking around the corner, she really has no choice but to trust Evariste.
I love Caitlin’s character. She is stubborn, sassy and will say almost anything even if it’s not the best idea. The only downfall about this book is that at times I found it was confusing to keep track of if you were in the past or present. As time goes on, it’s easier to know where, or should I say when, you are.

Simply amazing. This story is intense and powerful from the beginning to the end. It is a mafia romance full of action, intrigue, suspense, drama, secrets, lies, mystery, pain, danger, twisted plots, and romance. It keeps you glued to the pages wanting to know what happens next and not wishing to put the book down. Salvatore wants vengeance for what was taken from him while Serafina wants to escape it all. This tale follows the two main characters as they embark on seeking what they each want and the roadblocks they face along the way. Will he get his vengeance? Will she find her escape?
I cannot wait to pick up the next book in the series!

The Book of Hours is the second book in the Coin/Hours Duology. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I will now read the first book in this group. It has some of the same characters, but I followed the story and enjoyed it thoroughly. The story starts slowly as the setting and situation are set up. Be patient because it doesn’t stop until the end once it starts picking up. There is action, suspense, and more. I was initially intrigued by the blurb dealing with an obsessive art dealer and an artist’s work, but I am glad I grabbed this thriller. The characters are interesting and well-thought out. The plot was not a cookie-cutter plot. There is action on multiple continents. I’m glad I grabbed this read and will look for more by this author soon.

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4) by C.R. Robertson 4 Stars
This was a great instalment to this series. It focused mainly on Kimber who up until now we’ve only seen a bit of. Most of the series was focused on Tasha so this was refreshing. A new character was introduced whom I loved, Fabian. He is a shaman but is called many other names as well. He is powerful, kind and helps Kimber break out of her shell. This is their love story. It is definitely not an easy one. They have many obstacles in their way, too many creatures want to kill them. Will they get a happy ending?
Vampires and Lycans are finally working together against a common enemy. There are so many different hellsoawn. They are struggling to keep up to kill them all. They kill one and many more return. With the entrance of Fabian, he teaches them a lot. This book is filled with action, drama and plenty of secrets are revealed. This is definitely a must read but I suggest that you start at the beginning.

This is the 4th book in The Shadow Chronicles series. I completely love this paranormal romance series. A mixture or vampires and lycans with added danger means these stories are definately a great read. I highly recommend reading this series in order so you can get the complete story. The author has done a great job with these stories and the character growth in each book keeps me reading time and time again.
We are back with Kimber. She has now become of age and is ready to join the vampire army. Her family has kept her hidden and protected until now. Kimber had special magical gifts which she needs to keep hidden from her leader However when he discovers them she becomes just another pawn in the deadly war that is raging on. However when she meets a dark King this could all change. With danger, Suspense, magic, Romance, hidden agendas and corruption this book is definately a page turner for anyone who love paranormal stories with a side helping of romance.

This book was much more intense and dark than I had expected going into it. I hadn’t read the blurb or any reviews and, based off the title alone, I was expecting a light hearted YA romance. And yet this book is the opposite of that and so much more. I felt like I went through a rollercoaster of emotions when reading this book and I loved watching how it all played out. This is the first book that I have read by this author and this has all the markings of an amazing series. I was pulled into the story easily and I thought it was well developed. This is a great book and I am looking forward to the next.

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book that I read. For the prequel to the next duet, this really starts off with a bang. I already suspect Phoenix and Aspen are going to be my favourite couple of the series. They have undeniable chemistry and yet clearly have a long road ahead of them. This author has created such a strong and lasting series. It is one of the best I have read all year and I do not want it to end any time soon. I am desperate to get my hands on the next book to see how things will play out. If you haven’t read it yet I would highly recommend you pick up this whole series today.
I took the time to read and review this book and I have to say that it is a good book for young children to learn about self care. I really like how the author is able to bring the subject to life for the audience she chose. The character is fun loving and is easy for children to understand. If my children were younger I would have definitely got them this book. I highly recommend this book for kids as everyone needs to learn how to take care of themselves.
I loved this one! It follows Heath and Grace as they slowly fall for each other but deny their feelings. Grace is insecure about her family but Heath knows his feelings for her and is determined to bag his girl. This was a cute read and so well written, I couldn’t put it down. Do they get together in the end? Read it and find out! Highly recommend
