I really enjoyed this book! Vampire novels are some of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. The inclusion of other mythological creatures was well incorporated as well. There was a lot of different tropes woven through the plot and it worked surprisingly well but was a little much at times. I always love a swoon worthy vampire story.

Holding Up the Sky by Lois Wickstrom is such a fun book with a great lesson. Colleen’s dad is a giant that claims to hold up the sky. People fear her father and they don’t like him. Lois Wickstrom once again does an amazing job of teaching lessons in a fun and compassionate way. This story does a great job of showing children how to work together. It also teaches us not to fear someone because they are different and to have compassion. I also really loved the fun illustrations.

Wow, it has been a while since I’ve disliked the main character so much. But it worked for the story so well.
This was a dark book, full of suspense and twists which kept my eyes glued to the page. There were points I wasn’t even sure if I was rooting for Mitch or hoping he’d fail and most of the time I honestly didn’t know if he was the perpetractor. The plot and characters were so well-written, I was invested to find out what would come next.
I really enjoyed this psychological thriller, and I will certainly be looking for more like this from the author.

Neyah and Abby are pen pals. Both learning about each other’s lives. While the girls are the same age, they live very different lifestyles. Neyah lives in Africa while Abby lives in a city on the other side of the globe. Abby works on her social life, while Neyah gathers contaminated water for her family. Neyah longs for the days when she can go to school, while Abby goes to school everyday. Such an inspiring story for all to read. I found both main characters to be strong independent young girls. Who strive for a better life for each other. This author has captured my heart in this story. I feel every 12 year and older child should get the opportunity to read this story. To have a pen pal from a different country and to learn how fortunate they are to live without fear. As this story unfolds many lives are touched by the strength of these two girls. Fantastic story to read! It’s fast paced and you find yourself wanting so much more. I feel this to be an excellent read for young teens, teachers, librarians and parents. Let’s open our children’s minds and bring back helping others.

This heartwarming and at times heartbreaking romance with an opposites attract theme kept me hooked throughout. Romance author Tessa Talman and scientist Simon Fremont first meet during a flight and are instantly attracted to one another. As their relationship grows and their feelings deepen they continue to live in different countries, meeting in various places around the world. They both have different priorities, with Simon wanting to be financially sound and settle down, and Tessa wanting to enjoy her freedom and newfound success. However, they both find that each time they have to say goodbye it gets harder, and soon Tessa wonders whether fame is really the path to happiness. Just as Tessa realises that Simon is all that she needs to be happy, the unthinkable happens, and they are separated in ways she never imagined. In order for Tessa to move on she must not only let go of the past but must also determine if love is more powerful than the pain of saying goodbye. I was definitely taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this novel. The storyline flows well and I loved the connection between the main characters and felt very engaged with them.

This is an enjoyable and engaging paranormal romance which kept me hooked throughout. Caitlin DeDanann’s life is falling apart, she’s overworked, burned out and recently dumped, and then her boss ruins her vacation by sending her on another assignment. Meanwhile, Vampire Evariste Gage Arsceneaux has thrown himself into work as a much needed distraction from his guilt at loosing his wife, over three hundred years ago. When Caitlin and Evariste meet through business, Evariste is in disbelief as he stares into her unique eyes, the eyes of his long-deceased wife. Reunited at last, the immortal knows he must make use of the short amount of time they have together to remind Caitlin of their love. However, there are many obstacles against the couple having a second chance at love, including spiteful ghosts from the past. Caitlin and Evariste are wonderfully detailed characters and their connection comes across in the narrative. However, the main characters go by different names depending on the century, which can be slightly confusing especially to begin with. The unique storyline and gripping plot kept me happily turning the pages.

A Teacher’s Heart is a cute children’s book that children of any age can enjoy. The illustrations are bright and colorful and brings the story to life. Teacher’s Heart shows us that they come in many different ways, some are tall while others may be short. Some are strong and others weak. But at the end of the day A Teacher’s Heart is do BIG! I loved everything about this book and my five year old son did to. We must love everyone regardless of who they are or what they look like. We are all equals. I highly recommend this book and we look forward to reading more from this Author as this was our first time.

This was a really good paranormal romance. It was a very unique story which I haven’t read before. It was full of danger, twists and turns, Romance, curses to break and a love hopefully to be renewed. The author’s attention to detail really brought this story to life. The connection between Caitlin and Evariste. The attraction and chemistry between them is instant and hard to fight against. Evariste realises that Caitlin is his wife who was murdered hundreds of year before. In his eyes she has returned to him, to break the curse over his family. However the snag is Caitlin remembers nothing. She knows she is attracted to Evariste but she doesn’t understand why. As secrets begin to unravel and they spend time together Evariste hopes she will remember who is was and what she means to him. But things aren’t straight forward for them. Secrets are revealed by Caitlins family that has her questioning things, and with a danger lurking in the dark wanting nothing more than to separate Evariste and Caitlin again do they stand any chance of rekindling their love and saving themselves. I loved this story. I really couldn’t put it down. I was so lost and invested in their lives that every struggle felt like my own. Amazing read.

The Messy Kids is another wonderfully written children’s book by this author. We never hesitate to read whatever she writes. The illustrations bring the story to life and each story has a message. My son loved this book and thought the messy kids were funny. When your asked to do something like clean your room ,do it right the first time and you’ll find great satisfaction in not having to do it multiple times. I highly recommend reading this cute children’s book to find out what happens next. We look forward to reading more from this Author.

This book stands out among the others. It describes the life of an American Indian during the time when the English settlers came to America. The author does an impeccable job in describing what Talks like Thunder’s emotions and her life prior to the settlers taking over their village. The plot is very easy to follow and understand. The characters are very well thought out and do complement each other.

I also enjoyed the vary vibrant colors throughout the book, as well as the not-lengthy text to keep youngsters engaged.

I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind with her writing style. This is the first book of her new series ground rule and let me tell you I’m hooked. You will fall in love with these characters right away. I could not put this book until the end. I can’t wait to see who she is going to write about next.

This is such a fantastic story. However, it is such an emotional one to read. Amy Barker does a great job making the whole thing seem so real. This story focuses on Lap Babies, those children under the age of 2 who sit on their parents lap and the aftermath of a plane crash. This plot was so interesting to me. This story definitely focuses on the different people impacted in a trauma and how they all learn to cope. Also, the guilt that accompanies being a survivor. This is an absolutely fantastic story that I completely recommend. You are pulled directly into the story and I was left wondering how I would feel and act if I was in the situation.
This is my first Ariella Talix and oh boy, was it worth it! I absolutely love stories of characters reconnecting and rekindling what was left behind. Caro, Greyson, and Nash, in their younger years, were in a band together but when the music stopped, they ended up going their separate ways. Now down the road some years apart, Nash and Caro end up reconnecting at the Kentucky Derby. After catching up with one another, they realize their third counterpart, Greyson, is missing in the mix but when they reach out to him. They find out that Greyson is about to get married to a much younger woman and they go over to pay him a visit. Once they are all together at Mash’s beautiful ranch, they realize what they had been missing all this time. Absolutely must read and definitely keep my eye out for the next one!

As soon as I read about this book, I was immediately drawn to it. As a single mother, you make many sacrifices whether it involves your family, children, other loved ones, career, you name it. But life without your child leaves one vacant. In the beginning, the reader gets to see the true nature of Celia as she prepares for one of her friend’s weddings and manages the bridesmaid’s duties and handles her daughter as well. Unexpectedly she bumps into someone at the wedding, her ex, Kyle, who she broke his heart as he left to play baseball. At the time, Celia managed to keep quiet that when she left Kyle, she ended up being pregnant. As Kyle sees for the first time in a long time, all his feelings come bursting through. Although he has tried moving on, he hasn’t been successful and doing so. Now Celia is faced with telling the truth and seeing how things end up. The chemistry between these characters are vividly depicted by the author and you can feel their connection. This read was very engulfing and I cannot wait to read more!

I enjoyed reading this suspenseful story. A story that has twists and turns that you won’t see coming. A story where you are pulled into a dark, dangerous world full of revenge and obsession. A well written story where the author used details to pull you into the story. A fast paced story that is engaging and hard to put down. Mitch is a great character that adds so much to the story. He finds himself accused of a student killing themselves. As his life falls apart so does the past come to the present. This is a great thriller. I highly recommend this book.
Neyah is a young girl living in Africa, which means that she misses school a lot due to having to walk many miles a day to fetch water for her family to use for food, bathing, washing, crops and livestock. When her school starts a pen pal project with a group of middle school students in Minnesota, Neyah gets to know an American teenager named Abby. Abby is surprised by how different things are, such as a lack of running water, or that Neyah is the one that has to miss school and not her four brothers. Throughout the book, we see many problems that Neyah faces in her daily life, such as diseases caused by lack of clean water, her dad’s lack of willingness to change how things have always been done, the dangers of her climb to and from the different water sources in her area of Africa, bandits, and the possibility that her father will sell her as a second wife for cattle. Neyah at first thinks that Abby’s life is “perfect”, but quickly we learn that Abby has issues of her own. Her parents are struggling after issues of their own, and then Abby ends up with a brain tumor. The girls start working together to get access to water in Neyah’s village, by raising money and awareness of the situation that Neyah lives every day. This is a great book for reminding people that everyone has their issues, we are not that much different than other people our age in other places around the world. This is a great book for adults and teenagers, alike.

This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed her take on no matter what the person looks like they all have big hearts. I enjoyed these illustrations that will keep any child engaged. This would be a great story for any child that is just meeting their teacher. It is a fun story with fun characters that make teachers look not so scarry. It pulls them into the story and is easy for them to read. I enjoyed this children’s book and so will your children. I highly recommend this book.
Sacrifice Bunt is book 2 of the Ground Rule Series and I simply loved the story of Noah and Zara. This sports romance full of friendships, enemies to lovers, sugar, spice and everything nice that I love and devour. I highly recommend reading this series in order as the characters from the beginning are woven into this book as well….
Noah and Zara meet a few years prior on a chance encounter that to Zara, what not her most shining moment…but Noah does save Zara, but then disappears. Years later, Zara and Noah meet again, and even though they never forgot about each other……Zara is standoffish, hurt and puzzled on why Noah disappeared….Zara is also not into relationships and is totally focused on her job, in which she worked so hard to achieve. Noah tries to swoon Zara, knowing she was the girl for him…but plays it out to see if he can get the girl he always wanted.
Zara gives Noah one night together, but will it be enough? Will Zara eventually break down her harden walls around her heart to give Noah a chance?
I truly loved this book and I am already looking forward to reading book 3! I am definitely going to circle back on other books as well from this author…..Highly Recommended!!

This was a book that grips your heartstrings with the story of two girls living two different lives with two separate challenges but they are both so strong and brave. Neyah has a very tough life and yet she perseveres and continues to write of her adventures to Abby. We get an idea of what is going on. There are moments of joy and moments of heart break. For Abby, life is different. She may have more but she is facing her own battle. We learn about her adventures in her letters to Neyah. I felt like I was on the emotional roller coaster with this book. It was a good thing because this story reminds you that you are alive and blessed. The author does a very good job of making this story feel realistic. The writing and the characters just keep you wanting to find out what’s coming next. This story is a definite tearjerker so I’d keep tissues handy. It’s one of the best YA stories I’ve read this year.

This has to be the best psychological thriller I’ve read this year. I couldn’t put it down once I started. Was the main character the criminal or the victim? It was really hard to tell (and I’m not telling you which he was). You have to read this. It’s a story that will play games with your mind as well as his. There are twists, some you see coming and some you don’t. I found there were characters that you could love and hate. Some things weren’t as they seemed. This book is like a total mind test to test you. After finishing, I wondered if somebody was using my mind as a test (just kidding). It’s that kind of thriller. The suspense will get you. Amazing book! I love this author. She writes fantastic books that will get you to the core. An absolute must read. 5+ book.
Zara and Noah’s story is a slow burn romance. Their story is unique as to how they met. I found it entertaining and a quick read. The chemistry is there. Once that spark is reunited**BANG! I did love how the author put mental health and self-care into the story. I thought that was a nice touch. The supporting characters were great. The interactions between Heath and Noah were…Legendary!!! There is quite a bit of steam for the romance lovers. Quick and entertaining read. Perfect for a weekend book. View all my reviews

It made the story easy to read because you felt like you were reading about best friends. It could be me, I have friends that are that weird, lol. I loved how the story flowed even with it being a sporadic travel story. It’s a different type of romance that I recommend. I hope to read more from this author. Intensely romantic!! This paranormal romance is the tale of two souls trying to find each other again. A sweet story mixed in with the vampires of Louisiana. I loved how the author wrote with the flair of Louisiana. You could read it, taste it in the descriptions of the food and the restaurants. Going back and forth to tell the story of these two souls shared so much. The interaction between Cait and Ev was flirty and humorous. I enjoyed at times watching that develop. As I read, the suspense developed. I noticed secrets pop up. Some were not who they said they were. Cait walked into the unknown. This is quite an entertaining read for paranormal romance fans.

Now it’s time for a fake romance. Oh, these two still have chemistry and it’s fun to watch them move past all that has happened. The characters are well-written and entertaining. The plot is a hair predictable but I am a sucker for romances in the vineyards. The family would try the patience of a saint and I think Laurent needs the break. It’s a fun, quick and entertaining read that any romance lover would enjoy. I hope to see more about the family in future books. This is a new author to me. What a special tribute to teachers! I found this to be a sweetly written book about how teachers care about children and want to do their best to teach them. Considering today’s education, this book is coming at just the right time. The sentiment is meaningful. The pictures are beautifully and tastefully drawn. It’s a good book that many may enjoy.
Walk off by Bree Kraemer is a great second chance romance that leaves you wanting more.
Kyle and Celia have a common history. Lies, passion, half-truths, and hurt abound in this past. Kyle’s heart was broken when Celia dumped him eight years ago, but she also broke her own, in all honesty. Although they both moved on, they discovered that they still had a special place in their hearts for one another. They reignite their emotions for one another when they run into one another at the wedding of a mutual acquaintance. Kyle is a gracious person. But eight years ago, Celia made that decision for him.
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story really brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down.

Walk Off is the first book in the Ground Rule Series and is a Sports / Second Chance Romance that I had a hard time putting down. I’ve read several books by this author and her style of writing is creative and pulls you in with ease. Her characters are well developed and relatable and they make the story come to life. This is a fast paced second chance romance that will take you on quite the emotional rollercoaster ride. The chemistry between these two is incredible even after the years apart. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
