Dark is the Wood is book one of The Enchanted Tales with Dragon Scales series by Kristin Ward. This book is gonna hook you from page one, and I promise it isntt gonna let go. This is a phenomenal YA fantasy that is amazingly written. I may be out of the age range, but that in no way stopped me from thoroughly enjoying this masterpiece. I haven’t read any of Ward’s work before, but I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on more from this author!

I liked a lot about this story. The title is perfect once I got Into the story I got what it meant. The storyline is sad and yet inspiring it shows a bit about how life with an addict can be. I was really disappointed in him with every pill and rooted for him when he got clean. I really liked his brothers and sisters. Plus he has an adorable nickname for Poppy.
My big issue is the timeline. Basically in reference to Fiend and his family. It seems like he was underage when he left home then add three years. The twins seemed older when he saw them. I just struggled with the ages since he was only gone three years. The characters were portrayed older.
Overall I did enjoy this and I sped through it as it is tragic. I do look forward to the other brothers getting their women too.

What an adventurous Gramma! I love all the places she goes and things she does. The illustrations in this book are wonderful and very detailed. My favorite is the mole’s home. This book would be perfect for a younger child so questions can be asked about what that Gramma is up to.

Forbiddingly Yours is the second book in the Titans of Chicago series by Anise Storm. I have read all the Titans of New York series by this author so when I saw this book I thought I would give it a go. I have not read book 1 yet (I will) but you do not need to read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. The story starts with a chance meeting between Callum and Nicole, after the brief time they spend together neither expect to see each other again. When Nicole turns up in Callum’s classroom on the first day of term, they are both surprised. They try to keep away from one another as Callum is Nicole’s professor, but they are drawn together. I really liked this book, as with the others in the series they protagonists love is not straight forward and is disrupted by outside forces, but it was a very steamy and gripping story. It moved at a good pace, and I liked the characters, looking forward to reading more about Callum’s fellow Titans in the next book.

This is a very interesting take on an abc book. It might not be right for every child but for that inquisitive and intelligent child who loves to learn and read this book is perfect. I loved how not only were the words associated with each letter colorfully illustrated but the definitions were added in the back of the book, which does help that little inquisitive and intelligent child learn and grow. I think this book might not be for every child but I definitely recommend that anyone with children because it will definitely help them to grow and learn.

This box set contains a collection of short stories. We follow Bella as she finds herself and what she truly wants. She never realized what she lost of herself until her cheating husband leaves her and she begins her own journey. I enjoyed being alongside Bella as she finds herself. She has given up so much to make others happy and now she gets to enjoy her freedom. There are ups and downs as Bella navigates through the dating world. Each book in this series gives readers a look at a new Mr. in Bella’s life. It was entertaining to see her time with each new man while she looks for the man that will be the one for her. Bella struggles and has a few mishaps along her journey and she must decide on who and what she truly wants. This is an interesting look at Bella and where life takes her.

This book is a fun, second chance romance story that is perfect for one of those lazy afternoons spent reading. It is the seventh book in the series but can be read as a standalone, although all of them are worth the time! I loved reading about these characters. It was so nice to see the female MC being the one to achieve her goals, over and above the male MC. More often than not, it is the other way round so it was refreshing to read something a little different. I thought the story was well developed. The author knew just how to move the story on and keep the characters connection interesting. This is an author I always enjoy and this series definitely lives up to that expectation. I would recommend this book to any fan of romance.

With this book, we are taken on another adventure with Eve Sawyer, a brilliant and interesting character who finds herself at the centre of yet another mystery. Determined to help her friend, she takes to investigating the situation to figure out what is really going on. The story is a gripping mystery that has you hooked as soon as you start reading. I wanted to see how things would turn out and which way the author would take this book. However, the thing I loved the most about this book is the fact that it showcases the authors talent for creating such diverse books in comparison to her own work. Every book you pick up by her is different, which makes her an exciting author to read. This is a great addition to the series and I am looking forward to more of Eve’s adventures.

This book is another sweet addition to a great series. It can be read as a standalone, but all of them are worth the time! This book is about Mallory and Beckett, childhood sweethearts who are given a second chance at love. I loved watching them reconnect and build something so strong and sweet between them. They are the kind of couple that I wanted to make things work because I felt like they deserved their happy ending. This book is as well written and engaging as the other books in the series. The author has such a lovely writing style, the books flow with such an ease. This is a great story, and a great series, and one I would definitely recommend.

If, like me, you have ever wondered what happens to characters after their HEA, then this book is the one I would recommend. This book is a great collection of stories that revisits all of the character of the main series, three years after the final book. It provides us as readers a chance to glimpse at what they have been doing since we last read about them, and it is a very welcome view. Even though this is a collection of short stories, the book is just as well written as the main ones. It took no effort for me to reconnect with all of the characters and I enjoyed revisiting each and everyone of them. This is a great book and a great way to end the series.
I read this book in just a few hours. I absolutely loved it. I think you will too. Sinister Styx is a very talented writer that will keep you on the edge of your seat, all the while wondering if René and Belladonna’s twisted relationship will develop into more.
Wow this one started really well! It told of curses, old gods, evil gods, a mysterious dark wooded shadowland and ghouls and witches and things that go bump in the night. Human and animal sacrifice are mentioned as well. From the first page it teases a very good story to come… And it didn’t disappoint! I absolutely loved this story!! I couldn’t put it down. There’s so much going on! Gillian enters the shadowlands, discovers she has powers, finds out her parents aren’t actually her parents, meets a dragon in human form, falls in love and has to fight with everything she has to get what she wants. Its just brilliant! it’s a real fantasy you can lose yourself in. I will be reading more from this author!

This is the second book in the Stars in the City Series. This is a YA romance which is full of angst, drama and emotion as our main character struggles to redefine herself and deal with all the other complications that comes with being young and finding your way in the world. This book was a captivating read and I enjoyed seeing the character growth of Paige as we watch her change and transform her life.
Paige thought her life was perfect and she loved her work as an actress on a soap opera. However when her job is not longer a safe secure option Paige has to look for other work which leads her to journalism. This job leads her to meet the next potential romance in the form of hockey player Viktor. Their connection is strong but with Paige’s ex trying to win her back what will Paige do? Will she give the relationship with Viktor a chance or will she got back to Walker.
This story is a great insight into the life of a young woman who is trying to succeed in her life and find her place and what she wants. Dealing with emotions around romance is never easy and you can really feel Paige’s struggle as she trys to decide which one( if either) of the guys is right for her. You will find you can’t put this romance down and I cant wait to see what else the author has in store

I only recently read the first book in this series so I was excited to get my hands on this one so soon. This book is a brilliant addition to the series and I think has to be my favourite so far – although it is early days! I loved the connection between the main characters. Their relationship is completely forbidden and yet the pull between them was so strong. The storyline was just as intense. It felt like they had such a tumultuous journey and it had me hooked from start to finish. I have loved everything I have read by this author and this book is no exception. This is a brilliant book and I cannot wait for more.

This book is the 11th in the series and is another one that just makes it so much better. I would definitely recommend reading all of the books in order to really get the best out of the series. This book is everything I have come to expect. It is exciting from the first page and I was hooked instantly. The world the author has created is so intense and it pulls me in each and every time with ease. I loved the characters who are the focal point of this book. Their connection is undeniable and I was just as engaged in them as I was the story. I loved this book and I hope the author keeps the series going for many more to come

This book is yet another fantastic adventure from Oscar and Emmy. This was a perfectly timed read for us as we were due to visit the doctors, which my son really doesn’t like. This book was a great way to show him how ever animals have to visit the doctors, and that it can be fun. He didn’t enjoy it still but he loved pointing out all of the things that were similar to the story we had just read – and all of the things that were different. I loved how this author finds a way to connect with her intended audience every time. The books teach them something new without it feeling like they do. The stories are fun and entertaining, this one included. We are already looking forward to the next one we read.

The Oscar and Emmy series is one that has very quickly become a firm favourite in our household. The kids love learning more about their adventures with each new book and I think this one has to be the one they have enjoyed the most so far. One of our favourite things to do is visit Grandma (or Nanny as they call her) so they loved the idea of Oscar and Emmy doing the same. The author has created such a fun and vibrant series that really entertains kids. It is teaching them some great things about pets and animals, but it is engaging at the same time. This is a brilliant series and I think one we all enjoy!
This story is a brilliant take on such a well-known story. They author has found a unique was to introduce a twist to a story most already know the ending of. I loved the host of characters introduced throughout this book. They were varied and interesting, each adding something different to the overall story. This author is one I am slowly becoming more familiar with and, with each book I add to the collection, the more I enjoy her work. This book is a great fantasy story, set between modern-day London and other world Camelot. I was drawn into the story straight away and thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Chess has her heart guarded and does not want to waste her time on players, both on and off the field. Shes attracted to Finn, but she’s wary when she realizes he’s entertaining the wrong type of women. This was a great slow burn, while Finn works to prove he’s not the type of guy she assumes he is. He’s a nerd and a softy under his tough exterior, and he’s got his eyes set on winning Chess over. This was a great read for the sports romance fans. Love the slow burn, the effort Finn puts in, Chess as a strong FMC. I’ll definitely read more from this author.

I really enjoyed this lighthearted story. The layers of grief, love, family-related burdens and more all made this a great book to read. It was a very quick read as the characters were lovable and the kind to pull you right into the story and had you rooting for them throughout the book. Claire and David, along with Alexis were wonderful characters and all had their collective ups and downs and obstacles along the way. Emi Hilton did a great job with this story and pulled in so many emotions and situations that felt so real in the moment. Great book, especially for a fast and easy read.

This alphabet book is beautiful! The words are very advanced but so rich! The illustrations are phenomenal! I absolutely adore this book for children! I would absolutely use it in my 3rd grade classroom to help my students develop a richer vocabulary! I wish I could print each photo out and use it as an alphabet line! At the end is a deficiency for each word as well! Truly gorgeous and enriching!

The story is engaging and keeps you turning the pages. Superb world-building without getting bogged down by extraneous details. Complex characters. Intricate story line, expertly woven. A compelling read – definitely on my list of top favorites this year.

Murder in prospect is the latest novel in the Eve Sawyer Mysteries. I must admit I haven’t read all of them. But the few I’ve read has been amazing. I do like that although it is a series they can be read independently and you can follow along just fine.
The cover is beautifully done and fits the story. The author does a wonderful job telling a story that sucks you in and paints a picture. It’s full of twist and turns. She keeps you reading. I highly recommend checking out her other books.

5 Stars Hooked: The Merciless Few (The Merciless Few Series) by S Courtney
Hooked: The Merciless Few is the second book in The Merciless Few Series and is a MC Romance that will have you turning the pages till the end. I highly recommend reading the first book in this series if you haven’t already as it gives you a better understanding of what has been going on and meet characters which overlap to the next story. This is a fairly new author to me but I like where this series is going so far My emotions were all over the place with this story and at one point I had tears running down my face. My heart broke for Fiend aka Jett. This is Jett and Poppy’s story. Fiend holds many secrets and has many struggles which started at a young age. One day you mean everything to your family and then a total disappointment. Fiend leaves his family behind to start a new life with his MC family. He now is in a downward spiral can she help save him before it’s to late? Poppy wants to be his everything but can she get him to see that? I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author and this series.
