This is the second book in the series. It can be read as a standalone, but I feel the story is enriched if you read the first book.
As with the previous book, I was drawn in immediately. The story is engaging and keeps you turning the pages. Superb world-building without getting bogged down by extraneous details. Complex characters. Intricate story line, expertly woven.
A compelling read – definitely on my list of top favorites this year.
