Spook Squad by Allan Evans

Another great book from Allan Evans! Spooky Squad is a young adult paranormal story than continues with the life of 14 year old Abbey who can communicate with ghosts. You absolutely can read this book on its own but I would recommend that you read them in order as this is the third book and you learn so much about Abbey and her gift in the first two books. She has a small group of friends that know about her abilities and are there to support her and help in her adventures with the paranormal. I would highly recommend this book whether for your young adult reader, or for anyone who enjoys young adult paranormal stories.
Masquerade by Jennifer Raines

Liam and Kate are both identical twins and this their story. Kate is ms dowdy, ms billboard model and Ms sexy secret romance author. Liam is Mr suit – a work driven environmental lawyer. This novel contains just the right mix of the antics of twin swapping, environmental law, modelling, trust, awesome sex, misunderstandings, did I mention awesome sex, betrayal and love…. And of course the ultimate happy ending.
Dead Late by Anise Eden

This is the third book in the Things Unseen series. It reads well as a stand alone but I recommend reading the first two books to get the most out of the overall arc of the story. The first two books were great reads and this conclusion in the novel is also fantastic. Eden creates suspense and tension in the novel making the reader hooked to read more!
HEAVEN ONLY KNOWS by Laurie Lewis

Barrett helps win a case in New Orleans and is asked to stay and connect with the victims involved. He meets guarded and mysterious Agata, and is drawn to her unexpectedly. Not looking for love, she turns him down but continues showing up and helping him get to know her neighbors. Barrett has to decide if he wants to take the offer to stay with the law firm hes interning for and also if he can show Agata that it’s safe to re open her heart. This story was a good clean romance that will get you in your feels.
London Detective Agency: The Complete Series by Stephanie R. Caffrey

The London Detective Agency Complete Series gives the reader two books they won’t want to put down. Both contain a lot of suspense, intrigue, and some romance thrown in. Though they are part of a series they don’t need to be read that way. But as someone who has read both, once you read one you’ll be grasping for the other.
Mistaken Identity is a book about a woman who is going to study abroad but who ends up in police protection from a dangerous family. This book was good. I enjoyed it but I liked book two more.
Be My Little Baby is about a woman dealing with a stalker that nobody is taking seriously. That is until she begs for help and the stalker ups the stakes.
You want books that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, both of these books will do just that. And then some. Highly recommended if you enjoy suspense novels. Especially since the way the author wrote the character dynamic gives it something more.

A Safe Place by Becky Flade

This is the sixth installment of the Philly Heat series, and it is just as incredible as the previous five! You can read this as a standalone, so don’t turn away just because you see #6 in the title. After you finish reading it, you’ll find yourself going back to read the rest of the series anyways because it is fantastic! The author has a unique writing style that engages you from the very beginning and before you know it, you’ve devoured the entire book in one sitting. I enjoyed the fast pace as it made it easy to finish this book in one day. The character development really stood out to me as each one was relatable and felt more like catching up with a friend instead of just reading a story. There is plenty of tension to keep you on the edge of your seat. I found myself reading faster and faster as I turned each page because I needed to find out what was going to happen. There were even a few twists that I didn’t see coming and took me completely by surprise. If you are looking for a captivating romantic suspense novel, this one will definitely keep your attention. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us!

Sarge: Going Deep by Stuart Ledwith PHD. Is the continuation of Mission 3047. This is definitely one of those books that you can absolutely lose yourself in but also one of those special ones you have to savor. From start to finish you can definitely feel the love the author had for this series. I adored this book, and refused to put it down. I definitely recommend this series!
London Detective Agency: The Complete Series by Stephanie R. Caffrey

The London Detective Agency book series is a great murder mystery. In the first book Mistaken Identity about Patrick and Evelyn, Evelyn has someone else’s bag which sends off a crime boss to find her. I love how this book focuses on both people in the story and how you get to know what is happening to each other chapter by chapter. This book will keep you guessing who the killer is. It will also show what happened to the other person who has Evelyn’s bag and why the Crime bosses are after her. So, grab a drink and some snacks and enjoy the first book. If you enjoy this book, then you will enjoy the second one Be My Little Baby Which is about Tessa who is a baker that becomes famous in London. She suddenly has a stalker and meets James Who helps her try to figure out who is stalking her. I love how this book has a little bit of romance while dealing with someone stalking her. This book like the first is a great Who done it. This is a great series, and you can read them both here So like I said earlier grab some popcorn your Kindle, or your physical book and a nice drink and enjoy this who-dun-it page-turner series.

Sarge: Going Deep by PhD Ledwith

I usually stick to my typical historical fiction, fantasy, and Romantic comedies, but every now and then I like to branch out and read something fresh, out of my realm. Science Fiction is not something I usually read, but original and intriguing this definitely was. Now, this is apparently a continuation of a character from another book by this author, so I cannot attest to if these read better in some certain order or not. This was a unique sci-fi story that if you’re looking to shake up your reading or even if you read this genre all the time would be a worthwhile read.
Knight On Edge: A female detective mystery by Alice Bienia

Knight on Edge is the 7th book in the Jorja Knight series. Full disclosure, I have not read all the books in this series and still thoroughly enjoyed Alice Bienia’s writing style. This was a great mystery that kept you on your toes with interesting characters.
While this was a full length novel, I didn’t find myself falling bored or losing interest. I will certainly double back and read more from this series in the near future.

But once she arrives and meets with Charlie, she realizes this is going to take way longer than she thought. Cause just tearing down the building is a huge no go in this small town. Who knew that a small town would have so many regulations on buildings that are as old as can be. Joy and Charlie must work together to bring the building up to code in order for joy to sell it. The only thing is they both start being a distraction for each other. And Joy is starting to think that Chicago may not be the right place for her now.

Caleb was a biologist at a reserve in Wisconsin and things were changing so when the opportunity arose he jumped at the chance to come to Laurel. Will things work out for Tasha and Caleb or will she continue to have bad luck in her love life?

Colorful, beautiful illustrations gave me Clifford feels while reading this one. Wonderful life lessons in easy-to-understand ways. Just because Donut knew what he was doing, to little Peanut he came off as very scary. Sometimes being still, calm, and quiet when talking is best. Great easy to read book for growing readers.

Absolutely love Tricia Gardella’s books and this one is no different. Stunningly beautiful illustrations bring Gadrella to life as she helps her fellow witches embrace their uniqueness. Not the easiest of books to read for young readers. While the names are beautiful and unique I struggled with her two best friends names a bit. Perfect Halloween book for all ages.

In her senior year of highschool, Meg closed a portal to hell. Once her job of being the gatekeeper came to a close, she took off never to go home again. That is until she was in her 40s and a comatose friend reached out to her psychically. Someone is trying to open the gate 20 some years later and it is up to Meg to once again make sure it stays closed.
Reluctantly, Meg returns home to do her duties of being the gatekeeper. Leaving at such a young age left a lot of loose ends in her hometown. Everything is different yet still the same and Meg is thrust back into a life she wanted to forget.
I absolutely loved this book for a number of reasons, especially the premise of the main character being in her forties. Too many times the main characters are in their twenties and although the books are still enjoyable, now that I am getting older, it’s getting harder to connect with younger characters.
I adored Meg! She was a rough around the edges type of girl. She was witty, and a but coarse at times. The book itself was filled with unexpected twists and turns keeping you guessing. Full of action, humour, and emotional growth, you will definitely want to join Meg on this adventure!

This is a continuation of the story from mission 3047. Some of the characters we have met before in previous stories and some of the characters are new. This book could be read as a standalone as in this book we get a more in depth look at Sarge himself. Not only his past but also his determination and passion for the role he finds himself in today.
This is a great sci-fi read which has twists and turns, special secret missions, UFO’s, aliens and space exploration. As I said before we also get a deeper look into Sarge himself and we learn more about his story.
This is a very unique story and the author does a great job of building a world that the reader can lose themselves in as well as making characters that the reader can’t help but feel connected to. I love a book where I can lose myself in between the pages and this was a definately one of those.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

Naomi is a mastermind at fluently changing POV’s, it’s the equivalent of watching a show/movie!!! Lucifer and Ren’s friendship is heartwarming.
Mordecai and the men of Eden Cove Manor have more than just one secret! Lucifer taunts them so humorously!
The Men at first think Lucifer is conspiring to betray them, but he just has jokes and an ulterior motive for a great cause

War Bunny: Book 1 of the War Bunny Chronicles by Christopher St. John

Anastasia is a young rabbit who lives in a post apocalyptic world where humans have been wiped out and the animals rule, she lives with her family in a warren which is safe from harm, that is until she goes out of the protected area and is chased by a fox, this nearly sends her into a fugue state, but she fights off the sensation and makes it back to her burrow. Unfortunately for Anastasia, it isn’t her only unconforming behaviour, there are other aspects where she falls short, at least in others eyes, especially when she questions the rules and why they live the way they do, and so she is exiled from her uncomfortable life and becomes one of the Unwarrened.
Being as young as she is, this leaves her extremely vulnerable to the Blessed and their vicious ways, but she does what she can to survive, the first of which is to dig a new burrow, but she has to do it in such a way so as not to attract attention to herself. When she has settled in, she begins to find others who have been cast out and exiled for being weak, sick, abandoned or just lost and she takes them in and builds a safe place for them.
As Anastasia continues to create this safe space, it isn’t without its challenges, especially when she rebels against those who would prey upon her and instead question everything she believed, but will she be able to keep herself and the rest of the warren safe, or will the danger surrounding her lead her to her demise? This is a coming of age tale with a dystopian twist which will keep you hooked as this new world develops.

Kat has had way too much trauma in her life and it just keeps coming. Now on the run, Maddi, her social worker steps in and tries to protect Kat. But will she be enough? The story is just beginning and the author has so much more to tell. The story is a real page turner and will keep you on the edge of your seat. This story starts on page one and never lets up. So many twists and turns, a real rollercoaster of a ride. This is a must read series! This author has a way with words that will keep you reading. I simply could not stop reading until the very last page. I am looking forward to see where this author takes this series.

Master Slobozia by Sylvia Black

Oh, the chemistry and sexual tension is hot in this one. You could feel that it might distract them from the mission of taking out Lucas. This story was great. I felt it did a nice job of tying up the series and bringing it an end…or did it? (that ending left me hoping for a spinoff…?) Great twists that you don’t see coming. The romance between our two main characters was a medium build. You felt it, they wanted it but wanted to finish the mission. They were very relatable. Career or love? I’ve followed this series from the beginning and it’s been such an entertaining and fabulous series. Drama, romance and lots of good v. evil made for a very intriguing story.

Detective Dylan and the Thief of Camp Leaf is Book Three in the Youth Sleuths Chapter Book Series. It is a children’s chapter book full of mystery, adventure, crime, family, friendship, and fun. The story centers around a young boy by the name of Dylan who does not go anywhere without his junior detective kit, that he keeps on an old tool belt around his waist. Along with him on the adventures is his younger sister Emily, who helps him solve each new mystery and his trusty sidekick, his dog Theodore. Dylan, Emily, and Theodore are trying to solve the mystery of the missing Camp Leaf trophy that has been replaced by a moss-covered rock. Determined to solve the mystery, the trio follow the trail of clues to discover there is a long list of potential suspects. This is a great little chapter book for children ages 5 to 9 years of age that are just maybe learning how to read chapter books for the first time. It has a few illustrations mixed in to help bring the story to life. A great book that will teach children about problem solving, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

Great read. I was happy to see how Chloe and Joe were doing, off on a well deserved vacation. Liv is really making a name for herself working with Sarge, she seems to be following in her mother’s footsteps and it seems to be a really great fit for her. I really enjoyed the story. The author did very well with descriptions, I had this book playing out movie style in my head the whole time. The concept of the ship “mother” that can cloak, is exciting, and Liv can actually communicate with it. How crazy would it be to meet aliens and see people who have been trapped yet preserved for 15 years! It is interesting to see how Liv has to figure out how to help, Verun and her sisters. And she can talk to her ship, Mother. Love that. Crazy, and fun story with so much detail. I would like to see how Liv and Jay fair.

I have been a fan of this series since the very first book I read in it! If you love suspenseful books with a romantic storyline, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! It’s great if you can read these in order as there are details that will make more sense that way but if you come across any of them and have to dive in, you’ll be ok and wanting even more to go back to the beginning.
I’ve learned to clear my schedule for the day when picking up one of Becky Flade‘s books as I can’t hardly put them down once I’ve started.
This book is full of twists and turns and made my eyes leak a couple of times. My heart really goes out to Kat and all that she’s been through. Maddi has a heart of gold and I found myself wanting to pull her out of the pages of the book at times. Nate? Well, who wouldn’t want to fall for him!
