First off, living in Wyoming made me like this book a little more! Small town romance, good characters and a story line that keeps you reading is what you get with this story. I liked Elle’s determination and desire to keep the ranch going. The romance between her and Blake was made even more deep with the family history that you learn. This is a sweet little romance if you like romance!

I was drawn to Healing Kiss by the synopsis and premise of a paranormal romance. I was hooked from the very beginning and in suspense surrounding Kinetica. I thought the book was incredibly unique and captivating. I can’t think of a single time that my attention waned nor did I dislike the storyline. I really hope to read more from this author in the near future.

Reign is a lycan/vampire hybrid who has visions, sometimes they’re set in the future, sometimes they’re happening in real time. The beginning of the novel starts with Reign having one of these visions. The vision consists of the president turning himself into a Lich. He sends his people to go make more and more until he has amassed an army of the undead.
Since the group has been appointed by God himself, they take it upon themselves to be the country’s protector. There is Reign, James who is a magic wielding hybrid, Adam (a teenaged clone who is also a mage) and 10 brothers who are all also lycan/vampire hybrids. All of their names start with a Z, which did make the beginning of the book a bit confusing when the author first introduces the characters but then I was quickly caught up by the descriptive writing of the author.
The group bands together to defeat the Lich and his undead army while other obstacles are thrown their way. Demons, sirens, Greek mythology creatures, even Anubis who is a part of Egyptian mythology. The odds are stacked against them but they are willing to sacrifice anything to save the world.
This is technically book 2 in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. The author did a great job introducing the characters and their background. Even though it is a relatively short book, it is chalk full of action. I could not put it down, read it in one sitting.
The book does a really good job of keeping you on the hook with an ending that will make you want to read the next installment!

This book is definitely unique and intriguing. The author brings us into a magical world full of action, danger, great characters, hard choices and so much more. This is a story rich in detail that will keep you turning pages. This is the third book in this series and it is my suggestion that you start with book one for a better reading experience and because you don’t want to miss out on great reading. This story is enjoyable and I recommend it for all fantasy lovers. The author knows how to draw you in and take you on an adventure. I was excited to read the conclusion of this series but sad it had to end. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

An enjoyable contemporary romance which had me hooked from start to finish. This was a fairly short story, but the storyline was full of drama, suspense and of course romance! The story is told through the main characters point of view, making it easy to feel engaged with them. Private Detective Riley Scott is definitely not looking for love, she’s witnessed the ugly side of relationships far too often in her job. However, when Tristan Cain comes to her rescue, all she sees through the blazing fire is a pair of sizzling blue eyes, and she’s hooked. Meanwhile, firefighter Tristan was also not looking for a relationship, but he can’t get the red-head he saved from a fire out of his mind. So when fate appears to throw them together again, and he realises that she’s in danger, he vows to keep her safe and not to let Riley out of his sight again. The chemistry between Riley and Tristan really came across in the narrative and I was hoping they would both get their HEA. A fast paced read and one I would recommend, and I look forward to future books in this series.

Savage Truth is the 2nd book in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn. I am really enjoying this series so far. This story carries on from book one, where Riley and her mum have moved in with Cole and his family. The tension between Cole and Riley is palpable, they are struggling to stay away from each other but hating each other at the same time. I really enjoyed the tension between the two main characters while they were in public but the truce in the quiet hours which leads them to get to know each other better. I also really enjoyed the suspense of what Riley and her mum are hiding from. I think this was a great enemies to lovers romance. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This was a cute story. I had not heard of a corpse pixie before so this was a little different for me but I found myself liking Belladonna. I especially liked how she grew and changed when she developed feelings for Rene. The story was interesting and I did like the twist in the ending about who the killer was. It is a good book and I recommend it.
Overall this collection contains a good selection to try out some new authors and genres. Being short and sweet, these stories give you a quick taste of the authors and sub-genres and if you enjoy it, you can then go and explore more or follow the series they belong to. There are so many sub-genres that you’re bound to find something that suits you, for example I love criminal elements, so I was drawn to The Alien and the Crime Boss.
There are too many books for me to review each and every one so I’ll be reviewing a small selection individually.
ALICE’S ILLUSIONS: This one had me a little emotional at parts due to the portrayal off the aftermath of the loss of Alice’s sister and the effect it has on her and her parents. I really felt for Alice and how she was feeling and I just wanted to reach out and comfort her. I felt the pain the characters were experiencing, and this is what stood out to me the most in the author’s writing.
THE ALIEN AND THE CRIME BOSS: This is the one I was looking forward to reading the most – I love a good mafia character. I thought this was an original concept and I was invested beginning to end. I enjoyed the story running in the background as well, not just the romance blossoming between Leilphun and Kasper, it added more depth and complexity to the story and was another point of interest in the story. It’s one of my favourites from the collection. I enjoyed experiencing Leilphun and Kasper coming together, learning each other’s mannerisms and coming into their own. I especially loved Leilphun’s character development, it was great to see him really come into his own as a warrior in his desire to defend and protect Kasper.
HER ALIEN ROCK STAR: This is the shortest story of the collection at only 3 chapters, but it still packs a punch. AJ and Ceol get a second chance at love, and it certainly gets steamy. For such a short contribution I was impressed by how well it had been put together. I was a little apprehensive to read it as I thought it may feel like key elements would be missing but I’m glad to say that was not the case. The characters were interesting, as was the alien anatomy.
CHASTITY UNCHAINED: From the first sentence I loved this one. I was chuckling at Harker, the way she came across from the beginning made her my favourite in the entire collection. She was written so well, her personality really stood out. My only issue is that the story ended too soon, I wanted a whole lot more from Harker. Another thing I loved about her is that Harker is a plus-sized character, and I love the representation as being desirable. I know I keep singing her praises, but I love her strength in the face of abduction after a series of already emotional events. She shows no fear in ‘fighting back’ to both Zaron and Cahn. She’s hilarious and I could read her point of view all day.
MY BROTHER’S ALIEN MATCH: This one is sweet, it gets intense and very steamy, but it’s sweet. I wasn’t too keen on Taylor when I first started reading, I get he was hurting but my poor Robin didn’t deserve his lashing out. Robin is a very supportive brother to Taylor, and I love the loyalty and the support he shows his brother but my heart broke when I learnt how Robin viewed himself. In trying to help his brother, Robin meets Lando. I adore Robin and Lando, I really do, they’re both so sweet and supportive! I enjoy the character development in this story as Lando helps Robin see his worth and I can’t get enough.

Ohhh how I wish there was more when this one ended! Lily has a gift of healing. Tristan is someone who has a lot of energy in him and can help Lily.

Never did Lily think her truth would be found by Tristan and that she’d fall in love and have to reveal her true self. Tristan doesn’t abandon her like she thought he would, but instead took down the corrupt business because of her! Can they come together and survive knowing each other’s truth?!? Read on to find out!
At the end I found myself wishing there was more, especially with Brian and Hannah. Oh how I need to know his story now!

This whole series is just amazing. I really enjoyed everything about this book too. I would suggest starting from the beginning because each book has its own battles and action that the main character Titania has to figure out how to save her family and her people. Titania is an amazing strong-willed character that she has become, we watch as she grows and matures more into the queen that her people need. The way the worlds are written you really y feel like you are right there in the story seeing, feeling and smell everything around you and feels incredible magical. The way the characters are written in these stories you really feel like you are part of the family in the story. This book is filled with magic, danger, fantasy, witches, good and evil, a prophecy, challenges and a race against time. This book is very fast paced and will have you reading till the end to know what is going to happen. This book had me hooked right from the first page.

This is the second book in The Silver Blood Series. I really loved this paranormal adventure story. I would recommend reading this series from the beginning as I didn’t and at first I felt a bit lost in the story. However I still really enjoyed it and I will be going back to read book 1 so I can enjoy it even more. The author does an amazing job of creating the characters and also the story itself. This story is action packed with dangers, and magic and so many magical beings. This is definately a story about good vs evil as Reign and his friends and warriors battle against all the evil beings that are threatening the world. Just when you think they have solved the problem something else immerges. The story twists and turns with danger coming from places you don’t expect. I really can’t wait to read more of this series.

The cover initially drew me to this book before even thinking about the blurb/synopsis, but when I did, I knew this was the book for me and immediately went to buy the first book without even reading its synopsis and I have no regrets.
The world that the author has been able to create in such a short book is incredible and I absolutely love how the mix of supernatural creatures, mythology and more all come together so nicely within it!
I got so lost in this book I did not put it down. The concept and plot are original – full of action, magic and good vs. Evil. The writing flows well and is easy to follow and really enjoyed the perspective in which the point of view was written. The mannerisms which many people writing this would have missed (e.g., the turning to settle down) in writing this just makes it all the more believable and immersive to me.
There are parts which make me believe another book is in the works and I really hope that is true because I need more!

Reign: The Rise of the Lich is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight Series. This paranormal vampire book starts off action-packed and continues throughout. The book is told from the point of view of a wolf which I felt was creative, brilliant, original, and immediately intrigued me into reading more.
It starts with the lycan/vampire/wolf, Reign, having a vision about the president of Italy being turned into a Lich. Although Reign is a lycan/vampire he chooses to remain in wolf form. The Moretti brothers are hybrids just like Reign with the strength of the lycans and the speed of a vampire. James is a hybrid with magical powers and Adam is a teenage human mage with powers. Reign, Adam, James, and the Moretti brothers have been anointed by God to act as his warriors. They set out to rid Rome of the Lich as they attempt to protect Earth from evil forces. Will they be able to survive?
This book was very well written with descriptive settings that made you feel as though you were there, amazing characters, and a great storyline. The author did a fantastic job with the creation of the hybrid characters, and how they band together to protect Earth from Evil. The small group of Heaven’s warriors band together to battle evil forces that are determined to destroy Earth. Resisting temptation along the way, the small group ward off mythological creatures, corrupt politicians, and hordes of undead warriors. I really enjoyed how the story was told from the point of view of a wolf. I have never read a book told from this point of view and felt it was a unique, out of the box, writing style. The story was action-packed from the first pages, and full of shapeshifters, magical powers, adventure, drama, suspense, and danger. Ultimately it tells the story of good versus evil as the warriors anointed by God in Heaven fight Hell on Earth created by a corrupt, evil politician. Looking forward to reading more by this author!

A true collection of wonderful sci-fi romances This anthology of sci-fi romance stories that don’t skimp on the details. There is something for everyone from diary excerpts to alien rock stars and even a paranormal sci fi cross romance. I truly adore Naomi Valkyrie’s work and was pleased this anthology included a short story of hers. The Alien and the Crime Boss is a short MM alien romance that features Leilphun who is on the run after being exiled and heads to Earth for sanctuary. He ends up crossing paths with Kasper, a mafia crime boss, and gets more than he bargained for. Another great author that I was happy to see included was Danielle Jacks. Alien Prince is a great little romance adventure that had me totally hooked. Naomi and Zenith had so much chemistry and the multilayered storyline was well done. This is a collection not to miss. Highly recommend.

Quick, easy-read This contemporary romance was a fun and engaging read. The characters were easy to connect with and the storyline had a great flow. Even though this is short, there was just enough depth to the characters and story. Tristan and Riley make for an entertaining read. With suspense, steam and sass this is a strong start to the Yours from the Ashes series. Recommend.

This book was different but I enjoyed it. The main reason I decided to read A Curse of Ash and Iron was because it’s a period piece based in Philadelphia. I do enjoy period pieces time and again, but the close to home aspect sold me. The rich history of Philadelphia is well known so I was curious on how the author was going to tap into that while telling this story. Ellie has been cast as an essential version of Cinderella. However it’s with a twist. Nobody recognizes her and her father is still alive. The rest fall in grace with a stepmother who makes her life miserable. A step sister who is kinder than previous versions. She enlists the help of her best friend Ben to break the spell holding her hostage. Funny thing Ben hasn’t seen her in 7 years but he can see her for her true self. Why is Ben the only one who can see who she really is? Why did her stepmother treat her in this way? Ben never thought he’d see Ellie again. But there she was one night at the Walnut Street Theater all grown up. What he didn’t understand was why nobody addressed her for who she was. Once Ellie broke it down for him, he didn’t believe her. Though it was so far-fetched, it wasn’t true. Who believes in magic? Yet at the same time he wanted to believe in his illusions. Does Ellie succeed? Does Ben truly help her? So many questions and so many answers. If you like period pieces, definitely a book you should be checking out.

WOW. So, this book’s cover drew me in with its Lord of the Rings looking cover, its beautiful and the synopsis had me intrigued but it couldn’t prepare me for the world within its pages. This is the first book I have read by Amabel Daniels, and I am truly in awe, no matter how fast I read it wasn’t fast enough. From the first page you quickly discover that Maren is not some meek woman that will do as she’s told and be stepped all over. I quickly got the feeling of Dran being like the wildling’s village north of the wall in Game of Thrones. An isolated snow- and ice-covered land where nothing was easy, and an untold number of dangers lurked in the Sord Forest surrounding Dran. Maren is the only healer in the village. When the deputy arrives at her home to arrest her younger sister Maren does as she always does, she protects her sister. Knowing that she is more valuable to the village than they will ever acknowledge she threatens the deputy to stop making his tonic for the unfortunate ailment he got from a brothel in the next village over. Taking Maren in everything begins to change, the wind is different and everything in Maren is alert with danger near. Being defended against an impending attack in jail Maren quickly then defends the man who defended her using her blade for the first time in her life, drawing blood that soon sets everything in motion. The bell signals that Dran is under attack, the windows are smashed in and frecens fill the jail as screams soon follow. After every turn the mystery man that defended her Kane, both infuriates her and fills her in with wonder. Never leaving her side they escape Dran, years of dreaming of the moment she is quickly filled with a new sensation, her senses overwhelmed, and memories and current events blur her understanding. Waking up in a cage once more, she feels the danger in the wind. Kane tells her she is a fae and while continuing to deny it, the fae are royalty and she clearly is nothing special in her life. She continues to know when danger is near. Is Maren truly a fae, if so, where is she from? Can Kane fulfill his mission and more so what is his mission? Will Maren be able to find the mythical plant to save her sister? The world the author creates fills you with wonder, you can picture the stunning creatures and see the landscapes in your mind. The characters are multifaceted, both strong and emotional, even when they fight to hide them. Through everything Kane stays beside Maren never abandoning her, even when it would guarantee his survival. He is in this with her, they are partners, and alliance. Julie Navickas has done it again! Her relatable, lovable characters have swooped me up, keeping me frantically reading until the very end. I absolutely love all of her characters, main and secondary. Each one brings just enough to the story to keep you guessing. I thoroughly enjoy the emotional roller coaster she sends you on in each novel. As a reader, I feel all of the emotions her characters do throughout their journey. My heart ached for all of the hurtful things Lauren endured. I am sad to know this is the final installment in this trilogy. I can’t wait to see what Navickas comes up with next. I highly encourage all romance lovers to get their hands on this trilogy. You won’t regret your decision!

Continuing the world of Italian Mafia in Vegas, this third book in the Sicilian Gods series doesn’t disappoint! A local Vegas reporter Isabella is potentially sharing some secrets via the news. Lorenzo must stop Isabella from sharing those secrets. How will he get her to stop while he fights his attraction to her? Expanding the world a bit more and seeing how Dominic and Isabella try to fight the attraction each has for the other shows the author’s talent. Thank you for such a great series and fingers crossed you have more Larussios to write about in the future!

Book 2 in the Sicilian Gods series, this book is about Dominic and Emelia are from two enemy families. Unlike Dominic who is involved in the family business, Emelia has been sheltered from her family dealings and business. Don’t get it wrong though, Emelia is a strong smart character. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Dominic in this book and love the continuation of the first book spilling into this second book. The author did a great job keeping the story moving and adding the new characters into it. I had a hard time putting the book down at bed time or whenever I had a few minutes to read it.

It’s been a while since I read a book by this author. The author does a wonderful job building the world of the Italian Crime Family of Larussios. The characters are also well written and easy to connect with. I liked the spunky but calm Doctor Adrianna who isn’t scared to step up and put Salvatore in his place. True, most of us don’t come in contact with mafia bosses in our regular day to day world but it sure is fun to read about a family like the Larussios! Oh and what will happen between Salvatore and Adrianna when the truth comes out about her family.

I Love You Today came just in time for baseball season for me. I love a good baseball game and a good romance novel. Having both in the same setting is heaven! The characters were down to earth, lovable, and relatable. Both brought baggage along with them into the relationship. Navickas writing style allows the reader to feel the emotions along with the characters as the story unfolds. I was so excited to read Austin’s story. I can’t wait to see what’s to come in installment number three. If you haven’t begun reading the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy you won’t want to miss out!

Foxy Tails is an enjoyable fantasy romance. I enjoyed the characters, and the writing was well done – when Húlí and Xiăo Ying are first getting to know each other, Húlí’s frustration is palpable and I felt it too! The story starts out with Xiăo Ying saving Húlí from being hunted by soldiers but it takes some time for the romance to really heat up. Xiăo Ying’s character is interesting in that he is so quiet and stoic, until his mischievousness makes an appearance. The other two characters, Ling Ling and Yè Yǐng, are also interesting and add to the story.
The story itself is intriguing and made me want to keep reading to find out what was going on. This is the first book by this author that I have read and it will not be the last.

I am absolutely blown away by the first book I’ve read by this author! Last King is the first installment of the Legacy of Riverfall series, and I am clamoring for the second already. The story of Maren and Kane will take hold of your attention for the entire day, so I hope you have no responsibilities to tend to! I was completely engrossed in this book and tuned everything else out around me. Maren has healing abilities, but her sister has fallen terribly ill and there is only one remedy…a very rare plant. Kane is a criminal who has lost something dear to him. He tells Maren that he can help her locate the rare plant she needs if she helps him find his lost item. She is very trepidatious, but ultimately decides to take the journey to save her sister. There is danger, romance, healing magic, and plenty of action in this fae story. I am so excited for the second book already, I am counting down the days! I highly recommend picking this up, especially if you enjoy YA fae healing, magic, and romance.
