Wow! I absolutely loved this book! Connor and Niamh’s Story filled me with so much joy and excitement, Fae meets vampire! I really need there to be more. I couldn’t stop reading it! I absolutely loved the Irish heritage and culture mixed with the vampire and Fae worlds! So unique and whimsical I couldn’t have asked for more! The music that Thorne picked to include was perfect for the tone of Dawnbreaker! I was so overjoyed that she decided to add a personal playlist for the book at the end. It really helped make her world even more real to me. If you are a lover of fantasy romance this book is a must read! You will not be disappointed!

4/5 stars This book starts off really strong with the steam which I wasn’t expecting. The overall plot of the story is good. The writing is good as well. If you enjoy steamy romances, this will be perfect for you.

WOW. So, this book had a very spicy start to say the least. This is the first book I have read by the talented Elena Kincaid, and I am already looking into her other work and ready for book two in the Yours From The Ashes series. Where Fire Meets Flame is a dual perspective, told from Riley and Tristan’s sides. The book starts with Riley on a case into yet another cheating husband when she is suddenly hit from behind and memories of her car accident 6 months earlier lead into a flashback. Nine months earlier a chance encounter at her favorite coffee shop brings the two main characters together. Instant sparks on both sides but he has a complicated situation and doesn’t want the beautiful redhead caught in the cross hairs. Shannon, the living embodiment of evil if you will. Tristan had attempted to date her for about two months but his work schedule and the fact that there was no spark for him with her. After several instances he has no choice but to get a restraining order against Shannon, but she has a few loose screws and won’t let that stop her from getting near him. Riley and Tristan finally share their first kiss at a night club one night only for Shannon, or as Riley knows her the “grumpy brunette”, to appear. Suddenly, Riley was involved in a seven car pile up days later, and then Tristan is told she is dead. Returning to the present-day, Tristan is holding Riley in his arms trapped in a burning building, she’s alive and every terrible reality comes crashing down, Shannon is behind it all. Will Riley and Tristan get there happily ever after? Can the police catch Shannon in time? The world the author creates is one based in reality; I have known people in similar situations with a crazy ex. More important is the amazing characters, breaking stereotypes, a petite female that loves kickboxing, and an over six-foot-tall man not afraid to show emotions when overwhelmed. This was the perfect short Sunday read to finish off the month of April and I anxiously await the next installment in this series.

Kyle Ann Robertson’s White Picket Fences is a hit to the heart for anyone struggling to feel appreciated and valued by those around them. White Picket Fences is a tale about Julie, a wife and mother of 3. Julie struggles with feeling underappreciated and taken for granted by her family. She must come to terms with a new normal after the unexpected death of a child while dealing with the guilt of still feeling like she is being taken for granted. As a mother, I often put the needs of my child before my own. Even before I had my daughter, I was always the one taking care of others. I can relate to Julie’s feelings of not being appreciated. Kyle Ann Robertson takes a topic most don’t discuss but many feel and puts it out in the open for all to see. With great world building and loveable, eerily realistic characters, White Picket Fences is a must-read for fans of family and women’s fiction or anyone struggling to feel less alone in their thoughts.

This book has done a number on me. Honestly what even just happened. This book held my attention right until the last page and the twists and turns were marvellous. When I was finished I sat there almost dumbfounded for a few minutes. Phenomenal book. Truly worth a read. It was well thought out, planned and executed and has you feeling like you’re right there along the ride. Cannot wait to find more from this new author to me.

Riley….Tristan… i could leave the review right there. This book was exceptional. I could NOT put it down and I may have been missing in this book for hours while my family fended for themselves. What a dynamic this duo had. Definitely a satisfying read. Book one in the Yours From The Ashes series and I cannot wait to see what’s next. This one will be hard to top and is most definitely in my read again stash.

I have loved every book I’ve picked up from Elena Kincaid, this one included! Where Fire Meets Flame is the first book in the Yours From The Ashes series and it’s a quick but wonderful start. There is plenty of romance and steamy scenes throughout as well. You’ll devour this in one sitting because you can’t get enough of Tristan and Riley! Their chemistry is amazing, and the characters are quite in-depth for a shorter story. I love the protective vibe I get from Tristan too. I can’t wait for the next book already!

The second book of the series and was pretty good! I can’t decide which one i liked better but book two packed a punch. The push and pull was good. I can see that maybe some wouldn’t enjoy however I happened to really like the characters and the dynamic between them. It was an easy read, hard to put down and had the best twists. Great read! Can’t wait to see what else the series has for me!

I’ll Love You Tomorrow is the 3rd book in the Trading Heartbeats trilogy. It can prob be read as a stand alone, but it is better enjoyed as a series. There is a lot of overlapping info from previous stories, and the rocky marriage of Mitch and Lauren started in previous books. There is also the ground work for who is who and background and relationships. I really enjoyed this series so I was excited to read the final book on the Templeton kids. The story was kind of what I expected but not exactly how I expected it. There are a lot of ups and downs, but overall I really loved it. The characters are all wonderful. I enjoy the closeness Lauren has with her brothers, as well as their wives. I really felt for Lauren in this book. She is in a hard place, having to choose between her dream and her dream man, and is struggling. I look forward to more from the author, in other series, as I think this one is wrapped up.

I really enjoyed reading this thriller! It was a nice change of pace and very excellently wrote. The plot was something to hold on to and keep the pages turning! While part of a series this reads very well even by itself. Each character was developed and well written at no time did it feel like one character was more important than any other. I cannot say enough good things about this book!

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. This urban fantasy has great world building and the characters are well written, so it’s no wonder you quickly get sucked into the storyline! Niamh and Connor are from different worlds but quickly find a connection to each other. They are each figuring out what these new feelings mean when Niamh loses her memories. There are many twists, intrigue, and so much more. I really enjoyed reading this book and I hope others will too.

Other People’s Money is the seventh installment of the Madeline Dawkin’s Mystery Series. Although part of a series, this installment can easily be read as a standalone. This one was a binge reader for me. I could not put it down. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Hamilton threw in another wrench causing another twist and turn. The characters within this novel were very well written; lovable and relatable in so many ways. The plot was well developed and believable. This was my first introduction to Cynthia Hamilton. After reading Other People’s Money I will not hesitate to pick up another book written by this author.

Aurora Wildey has written a fantastic fantasy novel, with so much excitement I couldn’t put it down. The characters are developed so well, I felt like they were real! The setting was beautifully portrayed with all of the details fine-tuned, it just drew me in. I was on the edge of my seat when Kaela Morrow was attacked, I was sure she was a goner! Luckily she was saved by her rescuer who risked his own life to save hers, Terran Montgomery, the man of mystery sacrificed himself. Thank goodness Kaela had the ability to heal, which she did, and in exchange, Terran promised to watch over her. There is another who wants to protect Kaela, Seth Lazarus, but neither man gets along. Are both of them helping Kaela for her own good, or do they have ulterior motives? Can she trust either of them or is she all on her own once again? This was my first book from this author and what a marvelous rollercoaster of emotions it was. It’s always unnerving yet validating when someone can seemingly peer into your life with their own experiences, and that’s exactly what Kyle Ann Robertson did. I feel like a lot of people are focused on telling others what a blessing motherhood is, which while true it does ignore the less glamorous side of it. I feel like every mother would tell you the same as well. Our main character, Julie, has spent her entire adult life ensuring that her kids know what home sweet home should feel like. She spends all of her time providing unconditional love and a myriad of duties for her family which all go unnoticed. Then the family unit must deal with a devastating loss together and somehow find their new normal without growing apart from grief. I highly recommend reading this book as it encapsulates motherhood, grief, and hope. You won’t be disappointed if you give it a chance!
Ryan M. Becker created a fantastic work of art in this eclectic book of poetry. It brought me so much joy and laughter as I read along the lines of rhyme. Each poem tells a life story that will open your mind to the possibilities. I highly recommend this book to readers looking for a good laugh. For all who enjoy the prose and poise of a good poem but with the unique taste of humor that only Ryan M. Becker could create, this is a must-read, you will not be disappointed. While I enjoyed the overall story, it felt a bit rushed or underdeveloped. The main character, Riley, supposedly is closed off to relationships, but after only spending a short amount of time with Tristan, she seems to open right up. Terry, Riley’s best friend, seemed like a fun and interesting character that barely received a cameo part in the story. The writing style, characters, and overall plot were good; the book just didn’t seem to reach its full potential. This one does have a decent amount of steamy scenes.

Wow, this book was so good. It was emotional; it was fast paced; it was relatable as a mom; it was all the things. A lot of feelings that a mom has, both good and bad, are expressed so well. The main character is Julie. As we all want more for our children, she wants her children to have what she did not. As a mom, Julie also struggles with losing who she is as a person. This book is well written and worth the time and the money.

Short story firefighter romance that leaves you wanting more from this world. Where Fire Meets Flame was enjoyable. The author gives a wonderful back story, however that’s the majority of this series. Riley’s a private detective that’s on an assignment that’s going to upset her client. Unfortunately she never made it out of the building. She was knocked out cold and left for dead, while the building went up in flames. Tristan has been in mourning the last few months but that does keep him from doing his job. The building’s coming down and he needs to get himself and this woman out. Unfortunately they don’t have enough time. They end up in the basement where he shares his oxygen with her. Little does he know the surprise he has within his grasp. Which when it jumps back 9 months prior to the interactions between these two. And the danger that’s lurking. Will Riley and Tristan get their chance? Or will the danger lurking win? It’s short but cute! Definitely enjoyed it and want more from this world.

Dawnbreaker: The House of Blood and Sun is a fantasy-filled story combining our world and Emerald City Under the Mound. Connor, a century-old vampire, was changed against his will, but his world changed when he heard Niamh el Ri’ili sing. Though there are plenty of tropes, the author creates an interesting story. I was pulled into Connor and Niamh el Ri’ili’s trials and tribulations. The story is quick and kept me wanting to read it in one sitting. Also, I enjoyed the cross between the two worlds. I think this added an interesting layer to both the characters and the story. Though this was my first read from this author, I will watch for other books.

Unexpected Entanglement is the third book in the series. This book is about Chris – who we have met before -a hotel conglomerate, best friend of Dean, and now a great friend of Rae’s. We find out at the beginning that Rae has extended family that just found out about her. She is not sure how to handle this news, and due to the fact that she is pregnant, Chris volunteers to go check things out. Rae’s father has left property to her and her siblings, but not sure what to expect. Chris arrives on this small island and things from the start become quite interesting. He meets Rae’s siblings – Rowan and Kieran Kelly. The siblings own a farm and inn that is trying to reopen, but in two weeks they are holding a wedding and not really prepared. Once Chris makes it to his destination, things start to move quickly; Chris offers up his services to help prepare for this wedding. While no one understands why he would be doing this, he tries to reassure them it is for the love of his friend. What Rowan doesn’t realize is that Chris is a blessing in disguise. Can the two work together to host this wedding? Will obstacles always get in the way of progress? Can the two keep their attraction to each other at bay to have a successful opening? Will the siblings be able to come together to produce a successful inn that means so much to their father? There is a lot going on in this book, but I love it. As the third book, I have already fell in love with most of the characters. Chris always had small roles in the first two books, but I knew I was just going to love him – and I do!! Chris is a down-to-earth, handsome, successful, smart, gentleman with a huge heart. He is a hard worker and confident in his abilities. Rowan is a strong, sassy, stubborn woman who is just a great partner for Chris. She is driven and begins to become more courageous about going after what she wants. The little bit of spice that is written was also enjoyable. It was a great story about siblings coming together, love finding each other, and healing from the past.

Being a mom myself and experiencing many of the emotions and obstacles that Julie is facing just drew me more into this story. Julie is dealing with the everyday motherhood getting her kids ready for their days, dealing with her husband, working, but tragedy hits and she is grieving over the sudden loss of her youngest son, Curtis. Through all the obstacles and challenges, Julie has to redefine herself and find purpose through all these changes.As I kept reading on this novel, I was also draw to the author’s words as she is mentally depicting the language that would have been used in my thoughts during my daily excursions. Must read for mothers who can relate!
