White picket fences by Kyle Ann Robertson is a great look into how a family deals with an unexpected death. Follow Julie Scott and her family through picking up the pieces after her son Curtis passes due to aneurysm. This is a wonderful book for someone who is grieving an unexpected death, it shows that grief is different for everyone. About a year has passed when you meet the family, stuck in not knowing how to move on, but keep his memory alive. Through the story Julie, Michael, Nicole, and heather find a way to bring the family back together as a unit. They create new traditions and start healing. A very wholesome, heart felt read.

C. L. Scheider outdid herself in this magical book of perseverance and tough life decisions. It definitely reminds the reader to think before you act. There are consequences to every wish we make in life. I love that this story takes us through Ian Troy’s life, showing us where he is before he found the Crown of Stones and how he feels about being a magic user. Then allows us to see the consequences his wish has caused to himself and everyone. Fast forward ten years later, when all Ian wants to do is forget that he’s ever been a magic user, causing his mind to remain in a fog with his drinking habits, when everything he had been running from has caught up to him. What will Ian do, will he go back to his old ways and use his magical abilities or will he remain constantly on the run? This is the second book in the Hidden Valley Elite series and I really can’t express how much I love this series. I do really recommend you read the books in order so you get the full story between Riley and Cole because wow what a story. We are back with Riley and her mum having moved into Coles home. The tension between Riley and Cole is crazy and they have a sort of cat and mouse game going on where one is always trying to out do the other. From the outside it looks like pure hatred between them but if you look closer you see something sizzling under the surface. Riley is still holding secrets about her past and Cole is determined to find them and get rid of Riley and her mum for good. But when Riley’s past comes out in the open in a terrifying and brutal way it leaves Cole and Riley with the shocking realisation about their feelings and what it means. This story has some steam, lots of sexual tension and chemistry, some truelly emotional moment as both Riley and Cole learn to trust and open up and the danger of Riley’s past which could force them apart forever.
Amazingly written. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next in this series.

This is such a fantastic book. It is a middle grade book that tells such an important story. Silas is starting middle school, as if that isn’t bad enough he’s moved to a brand new town. More importantly he has a growth hormone deficiency. This makes him much smaller than the average middle schooler. Oh and did I mention that his grandfather is no longer living near by and is going through some changes of his own. Which means his grandfather isn’t the steadfast rock that he is used to leaning on. Silas ends up being bullied by the students, and honestly by some teachers at his new school. But he won’t take being bullied lying down, he ends up running for class president. Which definitely has its ups and its downs. This is such an amazing book. It holds so many positive messages. This is one that I will be using as a read aloud next school year. I really enjoyed Silas and how he persevered through difficult challenges. I definitely recommend this story!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous book first. This second book is the conclusion to Riley and Cole’s story. It will also help you understand where they come from and enhance your enjoyment of this author’s writing skills. I was a little sad to see this story end but I also look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I found this book to be fast paced and hard to put down. The characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. They kept me coming back for more for sure. I enjoyed watching their growth and steamy chemistry throughout. I enjoyed these two characters and what they brought to the story. They made it easy and entertaining to read. Find out how one kiss changes everything for these two. This is a series you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

With the fate of everything hanging over Ian Troy, the question soon becomes ‘How much will this cost our hero in the end?’ This story delivered on the promise of a brilliant ending and more! Though I’m feeling a little emotionally wrung out after getting past the last few pages of this conclusion to the series, I have a sense of contentment at it all concluding as well. This third book pulled me through so many emotions that I find myself still reflecting on certain scenes despite a few days passing since I read the last page. The author has this way of making you both hate and empathetically understand the villains, a superpower in this series that I noted along with the depth of the characters. I generally don’t read epics and steer toward more urban fantasy books, but I just couldn’t resist this story after the first page of book one and can’t feel even the slightest hint of regret.

This is the continuation of the story that was started in Savage Lies. It picks up right where we left off with Cole and Riley. There is so much tension. There is still a lot of banter and a lot of button pushing, but this time it finally spills over into the steam that we were all expecting. Once they get to the steamy scenes the book gets even more suspenseful as Riley’s past comes back to haunt her. This book is excellent and I definitely recommend it!

Silas Fitzpatrick is used to being small for his age because of a Growth Hormone Disorder but that does not prepare him for what happens to him on his first day of sixth grade. When he walks into class the teacher mistakes him for a lost elementary school student because of his small size. When Silas tries to explain to her that he is eleven years old she still does not believe him and sends him to the Principal’s Office. The Principal also does not believe him so the first day of middle school starts off bad.
Silas does not let the mishaps surrounding his small size on the first day of middle school stop him from making friends. He joins band class where he meets a group of other students who also face challenges because they are different. These differences have resulted in the school bully, Chad, calling them names and picking on them. Although Chad still picks on the others his bullying seems to be focused solely on Silas. He follows Silas around calling him names, throws spitballs at him, and pushes him around every chance he gets.
When Silas discovers that Chad is running for sixth grade class president he decides to run as well. Along with his friends they decide to start a misfit revolution as their way of standing up to the school bully. However, Chad wants to win and will do so at any cost. Silas must be brave enough to stand up to his bully and overcome his fear of what others think of him because of his small size. As he struggles through the challenges he faces at middle school he finds small comfort in emails he sends to his grandfather. The two have always been close and his grandfather is good at keeping the secrets Silas tells him. Sadly, his grandfather is starting to lose his memory and does not always remember who Silas is.
Throughout the book Silas messages his grandfather and tells him how school is going and the struggles he is facing, not just with the school bully but with one of the teachers as well. His English teacher hates him and does not treat him well because she believes his small size is a barrier. As Silas confides in his grandfather through messages, he also struggles with how his grandfather is slowing losing his memory because of Alzheimer’s. My heart broke for Silas as he had to come to terms with his grandfather not always remembering who he was.
This was a beautifully written story as told from the point of view of an eleven-year-old boy about how he navigates through the challenges he faces because he is small for his age. It is a heartfelt story geared towards middle school children and discusses the sensitive topic of being bullied for being different. Silas might be small, but he is mighty as he does not allow the bully to get the best of him. He perseveres and overcomes anything thrown at him, no matter how difficult it may be. No matter how badly he was treated he still chose to stand up for others. Silas is a true inspiration with a pure heart and courageous nature.

This is a brilliant series and this book is a great addition to it. I really enjoy reading about these characters and the fantastic journey they have been on. Each time I pick up a new book I can’t decide where I think they might end up or which way the story might go. I simply let myself be taken on the ride. This book I think has to be my favourite so far. The author has done such an amazing job at developing both the story and the characters. The book is well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

This story was so immensely easy to connect with and I loved reading every second of it. The author really managed to capture what mothers go through, the feelings and emotions that that overwhelm them on a daily basis. I engaged with the story and the main character and found the whole book to be fantastic. This is a completely new author to me and I went into this blind. I didn’t know what to expect going in and I loved what I got. I am already looking forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.
This is the first story I have read where the character is referred to as “they” and it made for a unique reading experience. I like that this is a topic the author has chosen to tackle, although a times it did feel a little clumsy. The overall story was well written though and easy to get into. I enjoyed reading about the characters too. They all seemed to add so much to the story and fitted well with each other. This is a pretty new author to me and I think her work shows promise. I think the more of her work that I read the more I will enjoy. I am looking forward to discovering more from her.

This was a new to me author and I really enjoyed this story! I’m usually pretty good at figuring out either who the bad guy is but this one I was wrong! (Which was a good thing means the author left you guessing)
I really liked the characters in this book, they were relatable and realistic. I want to get to know more of this small town and all the different people we met or hear about in this book. I will be reading more from this author if this book is anything to go off of.

I’ll Love You Tomorrow (Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 3) by Julie Navickas. This is such a good second chance love story. Its Lauren & Mitch’s story. They have been married for a while and they are having a rough go of it lately. They have known each other since they were tiny and Lauren always said she would marry Mitch. Now that she has, she wonders if she made a mistake. Lauren opens a restaurant and pours herself into that and Mitch flips houses so he spends all his time there. When they decide to take a trip to Vegas again they realize how much they love each other and without all the “stuff” from home their problems seem small. Will they be able to work it out or will the past cause them to give up their dreams? This is a great series!

This was a really good book! I really liked how this duology ended while still setting up some stuff that could happen in the next books in the series. I still think some of the sex scenes were weird because the main female character was still 17 but besides that I enjoyed it. The ending was very thrilling and action packed and even faster paced than the previous first half of the book. I’m glad the secrets from the prequel and the first book were finally revealed in this one. I’m excited to see where the rest of the series goes from here!

Holy Smokes!!!!! I had to adjust my heart rate after this book for sure! This has everything that I love about this series and more….lies, blackmail, danger, banter, hot sizzling moments and hate to love between Cole and Riley.
This story picks up right after Book 1 and I totally recommend reading this series in order including the prequel, as the characters are in each book and the story really continues and takes off……you will not be disappointed.
Cole and Riley are still at each other….banter and love to hate each other….Cole feel’s like he is onto Riley and her half truths…trying to figure out “why” she is living with the Savage Family when the truth comes out between Cole’s dad and Riley’s mom….but Cole cannot keep away from Riley no matter what….he wants to hate her but he can’t. When they connect in a way that consumes each other, there is no going back. When the past comes back to haunt Riley and her mother, the danger and chaos it creates…its takes every ounce of Riley and Raelyn not to run away like they are used to to keep the Savage family safe…but will the past come back with a vengeance that puts everyone in danger? This story is FANTASTIC! It had me at the edge of my seat…the danger and lies mixed in with the pieces of the storyline that I finally got some answers!!!!!! I am already looking forward to the next book in this series and I am all in!!

This is book 4 in this series and now I’m off to read the first 3! I love time travel books and this one kept me locked in. It did take me a few chapters to catch on to who is who and all the connections since I have not read the previous 3 books in the series. Also the language in which it is written slightly threw me off at first but after chapter 2 I had it down. I think this would also be a great audio book to listen to.
Will and Maggie go to the future and have to come back to help Dylan. The question is can they get back? Can they help in the past to keep both worlds from colliding? Can they make it to where the past and future are as it should be?

Pulling Together by Lois Wickstrom. This is such a fun little story. I love this author so I wasn’t surprised at how fun it was. Its the story of Lila’s grandmother knitting her a poncho but its no ordinary poncho it has 3 head holes. Lila is very confused by this but her grandmother just says “We all pull together”. When Lila wears the poncho she comes across the neighborhood bully so she finds some friends who need help and she tries to help them. Such a sweet read and my nephews truly enjoyed it. This would be a sweet gift as well. Fun for the whole family.

This book is amazing!!! You will not be disappointed when reading it. It picks up where book one left off. You definitely will want to read book one before this one. It has the main male character being the one you want to have but just can’t. The leading female is still a kicking butt and taking names kind of girl and I am here for it. This book has all the steam that you could possibly want in a high school bully romance. You will have all the answers to everything that you were hoping form book one. This book will definitely leave you wanting more stories with the rest of the friend group. It makes you want to be part of that friend group. It was a very fast paced read because I was constantly turning pages to see what was going to happen next. There is suspense as well which just takes things to the next level for me. Silas Fitzpatrick is starting his sixth grade year at Frederick Middle School. He’s heard horror stories from Grandpa about the sixth grade. Silas has a pretty optimistic attitude about sixth grade and on top of that, at a new school in a new community for him. The first day of school, he finds his way to English class to have his teacher dismiss him immediately. You see, Silas is much smaller than most kids his age due to a growth hormone issue. Things just seemed to go downhill for Silas in his sixth grade journey until he decides to run for class president. A good friend that he makes along the day comes along to save the day and his birthday!
This book evoked many emotions as I read it!! I love the relationship that Silas has with his Grandpa and the emails that they send back and forth. They had an understanding of each other that no one else had with either of them. I love the band of misfits and I understood them all too well, as I am/was a misfit! (view spoiler)[I severely disliked Chad and Kyle but the actions of the English teacher had me incredibly incensed. The nerve of that teacher!!!! ACK!!! (hide spoiler)]
This book is going to stick with me for awhile. I’m not a fan of bullying at all! The medical complexities that this young man, who is inspired by the author’s son, along with those of the Grandfather really tug at my heart. However, there is a happy ending on this one!

Wow I was blown away by this series. I couldn’t put it down. I wouldn’t put it down.
Comparable to outlander with traveling back in time heroics and romance! But taking on an entire new thrill of its own. The characters fight to restore the balance and tear is the space of time continuum.
I was on the edge of my seat awaiting the ending and I was not disappointed.
The plot is well maintained and the world building ?! FASCINATING to say the very least. Do you enjoy mystery? Romance ? Historical mixed with present this is the book for you.

I wasn’t sure I would enjoy this book, I enjoy listening to poems more than I enjoy reading them and I also don’t listen to The Beetles or do psychedelics but I saved this for me to buy a physical copy later. I would actually go back to read some of these poems again. I felt the poems were different, yes some were about the same emotions but I didn’t feel like I was reading the same poem over and over again. Some I could connect with and I believe anyone also trying to find themselves will connect with them too. My favorites were the poems about music, not focusing on certain artists but used musical terms in them. Like in “Schumann or Human You Wish That We Knew Him” the author says: “Composer, arranger, Sonata in B Major Scribbled eighths, translates, narrates a music quake that makes you wake.” I also loved “LGBT Earth You and Me,” I love the message of being kind and to stop all the hate. The pages themselves are all different, some colorful, some dark and some with drawings. I believe the author to be from Michigan, I didn’t Google to confirm but the reading lead me to believe it; I’m from Michigan so automatically I just think that’s cool.

It appears the circus has a lot more going on than meets the eye! The ending of this book…oh my! I can’t wait until these two finally unravel the secrets they’ve held from one another because it is going to be .. mmm more explosive than the ending of this book… if that’s possible. well done!!

I read the sequel of this series and then kindle unlimited the first book because I liked the sequel so much. Finally getting to the second book I was filled with so much anticipation of what was going to happen. Definitely recommend the series. Riley has so much built up tension with Cole but he is a blackmailer. Will things change? Will Riley’s mom be caught with Cole’s dad?

I loved every bit of Riley and Cole’s story. I found myself counting the days for this book to be released to Find out just what happens. Cole is much more than the egotistical jerk his character played. Both Riley and Cole have tons of baggage and secrets. I mean tons!!!! Cole and Riley really did have feelings for eachother but, Cole found it hard to truly give in to his feelings aside from wanting her because he couldn’t stop thinking about what happened to allow Riley and her mom be there. Riley is probably one of the strongest characters I’ve read about at such a young age. The conclusion of Riley and Cole’s story is finally here and so many questions are answered! Tons of suspense…..So so good! Cannot wait to read about the rest of the Elites. Definite 5+ stars!!!
