This is book 2 of the series and it’s just as good as the previous book. It’s a fast-paced story of two duos and this book will have you wanting to see what’s coming next. I was pulled right back into the story after finishing book 1. It’s exciting and I personally found the characters to grow on me after a bit. I couldn’t put the book down. I have enjoyed the series and I do hope for more.

Although some moments were entertaining and made me laugh, I felt there was no story here. I thought it was weird the author starts our female character out as a nine year old who cries everyday because she hasn’t seen “her boys.” It had me questioning her sanity. What really disappointed me was that we don’t see the three of them with a real friendship, and it’s not because they’re only dreaming of each other. I’m talking about the only interaction we see is the boys getting mad at her over ridiculous things. They yell at her for no reason and that’s a red flag. Another red flag is one of them punching the wall because she wants to be with someone “real.” And she has to apologize to them! The story does start to become steamy, and the characters begin to feel like there is some chemistry. Our female character starts to develop nightmares, which felt random, and the drama to go with it was barely there and made no sense. Overall the book just didn’t flow and for me felt all over the place since there was no real plot to the story.

This book was an ok read for me. I had a rough time getting into the book particularly the setting and the conversation between the characters hit me wrong. I thought the chemistry was good. I would like to try other books by this author because I just thing I had trouble relating to the atmosphere which made it sit in a tough spot for me.

I found this story to be fascinating. A murder mystery that could suck you in. It is the fourth book of the series but you can still read it as a standalone. I will be going back to read the others. I don’t want to share much as I feel with will give away too much. I can tell you that this is so well done. The storyline is perfect for suspense and mystery. I found the characters had me guessing. Just right! I think you should give this book a chance and read it. You won’t be disappointed.

This story had me giggling so much. Hollis and Cash are just meant for each other, if they can get over the prank war. I found their chemistry “sparkling” to say the least. Like Cash had shot a “load of sparkle” all over. This is one of the best contemporary romances I’ve read this year. The humor, drama, mystery with the other brothers and the excitiement between the two businesses made for some great reading. I couldn’t put it down. These two had “it” straight off from the start. It was fun watching them work through trust issues. Exciting writing, characters that felt like friends, you have to read this one. I can’t wait for the next book.

Such a beautiful story of two people set in their own way, finding a love beyond their imagination. Dean had a plan for his life that included marriage and family. When he is left at the altar, he walls himself off from being hurt like that again. Rae has her own reasons for avoiding love. These two must find it in themselves to let go of the past to move on to a live worth finding.

A Mountain in the Air is a wonderfully written collection of three short story that will take you on quite the whimsical adventure. Each story is a unique short story that is fast paced . The author does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and keeping your attention from the beginning till the end. I had a hard time putting it down. I’ve read a few books by this author and this one will definitely go on the reread list. Get ready for quite the magical journey with this Trilogy. This was a great read. I have enjoyed everything this author had written in the past and this was no different. This story is very dark as well as steamy. What I love about the characters is just when you think you have them figured out you realise you don’t at all. The attraction and chemistry between Nazario and Viviana is strong and instant. Viviana is a strong female until she is with Nazario the she becomes so submissive to him. Viviana is a big surprise in this story. Nazario is a hard character to figure out, one minute I loved him and the next I hated him. One things for sure once you meet these characters you never forget them.
Viviana is set on a course for revenge. After Nazario’s father kills her friend Viviana will stop at nothing to make sure he pays. Even if that means pretending to be his mistress. All she thinks about is revenge until something gets in her way Nazario. Nazario wants his father gone too but at his hand. He knows how much he stands to gain from his father demise but also how much danger Viviana is in even trying to get revenge herself. Will they work together to rid the world or his father or will Viviana be hell bent on doing this her way? And what happens when his father is gone? Will they live HEA? Or will the new found power go straight to Nazario’s head? Will getting revenge against his father help Viviana heal or will it send her down a road she can’t escape from?
This story has it all, danger, secrets, lies, passion, revenge, and is a story you will not be able to put down or forget.
This was my first book by this author. I almost didn’t get it because of how long it is, but it sounded so interesting that I really wanted to read it. I’m glad I did! It was a fast read for me. To me it was very realistic and I got attached to Fenimore’s character from page one. This story is very well written. I definitely recommend giving this book a chance, despite its length.

Fallen Soul is the fourth instalment in the War of Destiny series by Theresa Van Spankeren. Each book in this series builds on what has come previously, making for a fantastic read. I highly recommend reading the previous three books before starting on this one, because as I mentioned, the instalments build on one another, creating a ‘bigger picture’, not to mention hours of entertaining adventure to plunge into. This is an original, clever and intriguing paranormal saga with vampires, action, adventure, high stakes, politics, agendas, atmospheric world building, danger, tense developments, violence, and plenty of suspense. My emotions were riding a roller coaster in this novel. Simon is a good guy at heart, but his obsession with becoming a notorious outlaw gang member soon becomes something he dreads once he’s in Red’s gang. By the time he figures out it’s not what he wants, the bonds of friendships can’t be broken. Simon romanticizes what being in the gang is supposed to be like and things go sideways regularly. The daily danger and close quarters fuels a lot of emotions including feelings for one of his fellow outlaws. A relationship with another man is as dangerous as being an outlaw.
There is someone murdering gang members and leaving messages with the bodies. There were times I thought I knew who was killing the members of Red’s gang. The ending was surprising as to who the killer was! The Man In Black is an LGBT thriller and mystery that contains some violence, occasional foul language, and adult sexual situations.

Again, as with his other unique offerings, I appreciate the amount of blood, sweat, and soul that the author puts into his writing, as well as his unique take on things. With this variety, you should be able to find at least a few things to help you grow as a writer and get you one step closer to your dream of becoming published. This book is an easy, informative and interesting read that even includes advice from indie authors.

Lea Cherry is a new author for me and wow! I really enjoyed this read! This book is third in the series and I definitely recommend reading in order unlike me, I had to go back and catch up because I did feel as if I was missing info! However! What a great read! A lot going on and big choices to make for our MC. I found the book exciting, surprising and really a great series of books to get lost in! Definitely a YA book but at almost 30, I really did lose myself in them! The drama was to die for and the twists and turns had me hooked!

A Stranger in Disguise is the fourth book in the Inspector Scala Mystery series by P.J. Mann. I hadn’t read any of Ms. Mann’s books before, but I love a gripping read, so I was intrigued by what I would find here. What I discovered is a well-woven and suspenseful crime & investigation whodunit mystery- with murder, police procedure, drama, twists, secrets, and tension. This mystery is set in Rome, adding an extra element of interest to the whole story. With the staging of a cursed play comes murder and intrigue. We join the investigation following our stubborn detective as he endeavours to get to the bottom of it all. But with the body count mounting the case becomes more complex. What happens makes for an engaging read. I will definitely be going back to read the first three books, before continuing with the rest of the series. Happy reading…

I really enjoy this author’s books so much and I was already captivated by the cover and decided to dive right in. This paranormal fantasy story had betrayal, choices, creatures, magic, drama and a little bit of romance.
Zoe wants to be a heroine, born to be a fighter, along with her brother with high expectations from her family. When this mysterious black mist is upon, being aware of the creatures it may stir at night, Zoe wants to be ready to fight. Nothing is what it seems when Zoe is learning hard truths as she fights for her life. When Zoe falls for one of the notorious creatures, will things change or will the world turn their backs like that have been for so long leaving Zoe to fend for herself?
I would love to see more come from this story, from Zoe and Simone to possibly other creatures.. this story is engaging and intriguing.

Loretta’s Caterpillar is another amazing book by Lois Wickstrom! The illustrations and storyline are amazing together. I love how the story includes rich vocabulary and is connected to science. This book would be great to include in a classroom or homeschooling environment. This book’s back matter contains information about Monarch Butterflies migration, how to obtain Milkweed seeds, and information on how to tell if the butterfly is male or female. If your little scientist enjoys learning about insects, they will love this book!

Jasmine (Jas) loves her dad. Jas works for a man who’s pretty shady and is laundering money. She takes a risk and steals the money needed to get her dad into a treatment center. Next thing you know, sirens and badges are involved and she finds herself stranded on the side of the road.
Soon, Jas learns who her friends are and even makes new friends along the way and she is on a “vacation of a lifetime” trying to get her dad to treatment. This book has all kinds of ups and downs. There are periods of extreme intensity and others where there are smiles or laughter. I became a fan of Robbie but it took me a minute to warm up to her.
This book is a pretty fast read and will keep you on the edge of your seat. You just never know who’s going to to show up or what’s about to happen until it does. I picked up this book after reading Shore Lodge: A high-stakes psychological thriller and was not at all disappointed. I look forward to more books in this series!!

This is a fun little take on the Hansel and Gretel story. Along with their dad, Hansel and Gretel take a walk into the woods. Dad has taught the kids well to leave a bread crumb trail to find their way back. Dad is telling the kids to be careful of the witch in the woods. They hear a bird and take off looking for it and in the meantime, come across a beautiful gingerbread house. The animals are eating it so the kids decide to try some for themselves. Then the homeowner comes out and puts the kids to work. She’s wanting to win the “most beautiful house” award but it’s becoming impossible with the bricks disappearing.
I’m a huge fan of Lois Wickstrom and her books just don’t disappoint! The illustrations are very vivid and the stories are engaging. Most, if not all, of her books also have some learning component to them as well. These books need to be in every home, daycare, school, library, etc!

This is a different take on the original Hansel and Gretel fairytale. In this story the brother and sister are on a picnic and get lost. When they come upon a gingerbread house the old lady makes them help her repair the damage that the animals have done to her house.
This is a quick easy read that will keep youngsters engaged. It helps to teach children to make up their own minds and find ways to solve problems without giving up. While this was an interesting story, I would have liked to see more to it. The ending is left open so this is a nice way to get children thinking and imagining. The children in the story are curious and smart making this an easy story to engage little ones with questions and have them give ideas.

Echoing Hearts is the first book of this series by C.R. Alam. This is a book that I was not able to put down.Rae Allen and Dean Rowland are both set in their ways, but a thrown into each other’s lives. Both Rae and Dean have past hurts that act as hurdles in the path of their story. There were many times that I could identify with Dean because of the twists and turns that life has thrown. This is not your typical romance story where a girl meets a boy and they instantly fall in love. Each Rae and Dean have their own baggage that causes twists and turns throughout the book. I am looking forward to reading the second book.

While not really the type of book I’m drawn to, L. R. Liverpool’s Western, Romance, Thriller, The Man in Black, truly caught me by surprise. The book is rather lengthy (just shy of 900 pages) and starts out a little too slowly for my taste. I felt like some of the story could be condensed down and still have been just as effective. However, if amazingly detailed world-building coupled with surprisingly realistic, lovable characters is what you go for, this is a good read for you. There are a few heavier topics touched on in this book such as MM relationships, violence, and adult situations. Overall, The Man in Black flowed well and was fairly entertaining. I found myself feeling emotions along with the characters, celebrating triumphs, and rooting for their success in the dark of failure.

Spirit Guide is the third book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series. Let’s start by saying to read the first two books before grabbing this book. Madame Elinor Chalamet and the Duke of de Archambeau are trying to find a missing woman. Little do they know there is more involved than they realize. Chalamet has to go against an old nemesis, and Archambeau is right by her side. I really enjoy this series and the characters. Also, the slow-burn relationship brewing between Archambeau and Chalamet is growing. If you like historical fiction with a bit of supernatural, a spunky female lead, and a challenging male lead, this series is for you. I anxiously await the next book, but I will be thinking about what adventures Chalamet and Archambeau will be involved in next.
What a great read! The book had my attention from the start. Loved the characters and had no problem connecting to their life, friends, and emotions. Great world building by the author, not only in New York City and other locations around the world.
Amy and Dean don’t seem to get along at the beginning but man their connection soon brings you to smile and be frustrated for what they’re going through. Oh how ones experiences can twist our perceptions and change us in ways we don’t expect.
I loved this story and I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was fascinating to see inside the minds of different authors and how they each felt about their writing careers. Topics covered ranged from actually writing to the power of faith in yourself and the process of dealing with self-doubt, advice and the worth of persistence. All in all, I appreciated getting an insight into the author’s retrospection on their career and how they became published by finding their own process. It was encouraging and enlightening, all at once!
If anyone is thinking of becoming an author, I feel like this is a great book to add to your library to encourage you on days that are hard. Something you can have in your back pocket on to pull you out of the mire of bad thoughts.
