We pick up the sequel after the massive bombings. Roisin is our main character who is a powerful healer. A strange reapiratory infection is spreading which has doctors stumped and even Roisin cant heal themfrom it.
If it isn’t enough that extremists want her and all the unhidden dead, old gods start to come out of the woodwork which history says they shouldn’t interact with but the power they can provide is hard to ignore and Roisin will find herself battling a God to save the world.
This was a great sequel, I feel this had less lag than the first and I enjoyed it more. The characters are realistic with flaws and mistakes and real personalities. Their responses to hardship and danger is realistic and sometimes endearing making the characters grow on you quickly. Well done!

This is a cute book that could inspire a youngster to want to find a way to help others, whether it be a bilingual library like Amaleigha or some other brilliant idea. It also encourages readers to seek out others who may have experience in a given area that could possibly help them to implement their idea to fruition. I also like how this book featured multiple different languages to give young readers a multicultural experience while reading the book.

A multi-layer detective story with several side-plots and twists. Detective Nick Larson teams up with his partner, Detective Victor Sacco to help solve a string of “suicides” that are popping up around them. It starts out with the first victim was found hanging, with no signs of violence, but not suspected to be a suicide. After other similar “suicides” pop up, the duo thinks they are dealing with a serial killer. While this is all happening, Nick is still coping with the suicide of his ex-wife and his newly budding romance towards Laura. Laura is also coping with from losing her own husband, at the hands of her own twin sister that she never realized she had…There is so much going on with this story that it is always interesting and intriguing, but at times overwhelming. With a perfect balance of suspense and romance, I couldn’t put this book down, and really enjoyed the unique storyline with familiar whodunit vibes.

I will be looking up the three previous books in the series; highly recommended

This was a really good book! It was very well written. It was a well woven story of hope, love, and dreams with some darkness thrown in there to spice the story up. This is the second book in a series but can be read as a standalone. Both books were really good, I’m not sure which I would call my favorite. But I do know this one was beautifully written and well crafted and I’m excited to read more from this author in the future.

Love Tools is a sweet romance story with a happy ending. I really enjoyed the story, and loved both main characters as well as the supporting siblings. Lily left England and moved to a small town in the US, after inheriting a hardware/tool store. Jake is a cowboy who lives on a ranch with his sister, and is a smart a$$ but also very sweet. There are parts that made me laugh out loud, and others that had me saying awwww. I enjoyed the tidbits about Lily getting to know her dad, after he passed, as well as Jake giving his mom a second chance. Their love story, while a bit predictable, was sweet and funny. I am looking forward to the next book, because Alice seems to be even more of a firecracker than Lily.

This is the second book in the Winemaker’s series. I went into this book with high expectations as I LOVED the first book in the series. I have to say that this one did not disappoint. I love that this book focused on Pedro and his rise from “darkness”. In the first book, I did not have a favorable opinion of Pedro. However, I loved watching how he changed and developed as a person as he was on the run from the authorities as well as once he met Annie. I loved this historical romance. I hope that there is more to come in the series!

This author has such a knack for creating exciting and detailed stories. As with the first book I was pulled straight into this one. It was such a fast paced story ans I really enjoyed the characters that were within the pages. The story line was well thought and it really felt like it took me on a journey.
This is only the second book in the series and it is truly a great addition. I am really looking forward to where it will go next.

It’s never really a good sign when the old gods begin to meddle with the new world. As the “Unhidden” fight for survival from a group of xenophobic maniacs, a sickness breaks out and spreads like the Rona. Fast, deadly and unpredictable this plague only adds to the hatred and fear from the normal people. Our group is split up as they are pushed toward areas that can make better use of their talents. Anna, Komie, and Róisín are all contacted by entities claiming the names of old Irish gods offering their assistance.
I did enjoy the addition of the gods for this book. The multiple POVs are still distracting but I’m beginning to get the hang of jumping around so much. The sequence and timing of this book was different. I thought the last book jumped around but this one mentioned things regarding other characters before it was revealed and sometimes I had to pause a moment to remember where the character had last left off. I am beginning to get a personality variation between the characters which is exciting. Definitely will be checking out the last book.

It’s not too hard to imagine a magnetic pole shift activating the hidden bloodlines from the legends of our ancestors. It’s even easier to imagine society being afraid of change and attempting to stomp it out no matter the means necessary. A group of misfits all afflicted with new powers end up at a safe house in Ireland to learn about the new changes within them. Targeted by fear and prejudice, the “Unhidden” must learn to control their powers and work together in order to survive.
The concept of this story is believable and quite unique. The multiple POVs made it hard to fully immerse myself into the story and it jumped around a lot. I really liked the inclusion of multiple cultures, but the characters were written very alike in opinions and feelings despite different faiths and races.
The ending did have me on the edge of my seat. And I have to pick up the next book to check on a few of the characters I was able to get to know.

This is the second book of the Guardians of the PHAE series and it picks up where the first leaves off. This story follows many characters as they navigate their post-bombing world. With the jump from character to character, place to place, the story didn’t grab me at first. As I navigated through the book, I eventually found myself invested and couldn’t wait to see how it ended. I appreciated the guide at the front of the book that helped with pronunciations and meanings of the language used. Overall, this adventure of the Unhidden is adventurous, captivating, and suspenseful with a little romance splashed in. I hope to read book three and see what happens next.

Very good fantasy book by a new author to me! This is my first book that I have read, and while I struggled a bit due to this being book # 3 in the series to pick up, this ended up overall a great book. I am definitely going to circle back and start this series from the beginning to get the full story of characters.

This story is magical, unique powers but also touches on race and betrayal for sure. I couldn’t possibly imagine wanting to destroy someone or vice versa due to the color of their skin…..the author does such a great job on this.

Soraya is the leader of “The Circle”….trying to plan and keep everyone safe….especially from the likes of Shawn Kites who owns DNAgen Biolab and has so much hate over his heritage. Will Soraya be able to keep The Circle safe?

Naomi usually writes paranormal supernatural fantasy. The Husbands is her first attempt at a contemporary romance. As I have always said love is love and as always Naomi doesn’t shy away from and writes about what is not always considered the norm. It is a short read but one that definitely brings all the senses to life. It takes you on a rollercoaster ride with emotions. The tone of the story is full of push and pull, of angst and longing, hopes and fear, heartbreak and heartache, guilt and passion. Full of lies and secrets, doubt and temptation, of desperate want makes it one of those stories you just have to know how it all turns out.
You know it’s a good story when there is a sad aw that rushes through you. My favourite way of storytelling is when it is tole through several POV and this one is. The characters Dorian and Augustine were easy to like and become invested in.
I liked this story and the fact it was about the characters and not bogged down with unnecessary details. Not that I don’t love those but for this one it was right. I also like how the relationship was considered by taking in to account the feelings of significant others.
For her first foray into this genre she has done well. I look forward to what comes next.

Isaac Moore is a sailor who has devoted his entire life to the sea. Growing up poor he learned to have a vivid imagination and wove grand tales of his life and adventures. Isaac never expected to become part of one of his own fairy tales and he certainly never expected to end up in the storybook his mother gave him as a child. After being drug away by a green fairy with hair made of vines, he finds himself standing at the River that was in the storybook his mom used to read to him. As he stands and watches it flow from world to world, he finds it hard to believe that he is now a part of one of his magical fairy tales in his favorite storybook. Suddenly Isaac is on adventures with giant flowers with eyes, enormous worms, and a man called Snowman that frightens poor Isaac.

This book was absolutely brilliant and imaginative. When I started to read it, I was not sure what to expect but was not disappointed. The book sucked me into the storyline, and I wanted to know where Isaac Moore would end up and what (mis)adventures he would go on. This book was colorful, fun, intriguing, full of adventure and mystery. Highly entertaining! Give it a read!

Detective Nick Larson and his partner, Detective Victor Sacco, seem to be one of only a few cops that have not been hit with the flu at the 16th Precinct in Manhattan. This means that they are under a heavy workload that requires them working around the clock. The stress is bad enough from work but on top of that Nick is also having issues in his personal life.

When Nick’s boss hands him a case that seems like a straightforward case of suicide Nick cannot help but feel like something is not right. When similar cases pop up Nick begins to feel like this is a homicide and not a suicide. Nick is beginning to suspect that there might be a serial killer on the loose.

This book was action-packed from the first few pages. The characters were intriguing, and the storyline stood out as being different and interesting. It is obvious that the author did her research because of the attention to detail in the characters and the storyline. I look forward to reading another Nick Larson mystery.

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is a new author for me which I enjoyed their writing skills as well as their attention to details that made the story pop. I enjoyed reading this book. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous book as well. This will help get to know the characters and where they come from up to now. This is a well written story that has magic and messing with the Gods just could get you killed. This is a story that is full of action and hard to put down. I enjoyed this installment of the series as much as the first book, if not more. There is great growth of the characters and the plot which made it easy to read. I found this book to be entertaining and engaging. I really enjoyed seeing what happens with these characters. I highly recommend this book.
