My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star by Pamela DuMond is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. This book was amazing, Its very rare that I like sequels better than the first book, but this book was on fire. I read it in one sitting and couldnt get enough. The characters were so well developed and practically jump off the stage. The story line keeps you on the edge of your seat from page. This is a new author for me, but I cant wait to read more by her, whether this series or another. I give this book and author 5 stars.

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. It is an amazing read and you absolutely need to read the first book as otherwise you will feel a bit lost (like I did as I started with the second book!).
It is a spellbound story where Evie (our main character who we follow through all the books in the series) takes on her second client – a huge movie star Jake Keller who has some heavy hitting secrets. He is lost and shutting down and Evie needs to dig in and create her magic! There are many revelations for Evie in this one and her psycho “fan” is stepping up their game too and also someone from her past keeps turning up… there is a lot going on here and you need to be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster!
I cannot wait to see what waits Evie in the next book of the series! Please keep them coming!

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just finished reading Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2), by Pamela DuMond.

This book is somehow, even better than the first!

I don’t know if it’s because we know Evie and the girls a lot better now or if it’s because I *might* like Jake better than Dylan (sorry Dylan, I still love you though), or a combination of both.

I completely fell for Jake, who is very down to earth, despite being a huge movie star.

He cares for his employees, his friends and of course, Evie.

Evie, will stop at nothing when she is helping people – despite everything that she is going through in her personal life (a creepy fan, her family, her job).
She will do her best to get to the bottom of the deep dark secrets Jake has tried to bury, so he can heal and get back on his superstar track.

I really wasn’t prepared for the last bit of the book – a double whammy got dropped and I can’t wait to see the ending.

Pamela DuMond – you outdid yourself and I’m so grateful that you did!
I really, really liked the first book in this series and I was over the moon but I LOVED this one even more!

I can’t wait to read more of your books!

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) by Pamela DuMond – Review by Karyn Taylor

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star is the 2nd book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. I would definitely recommend reading the first book, Player, before reading this one. It can be read as a stand-alone but the story will make more sense if you have read the first book.
Movie Star continues on from where Player left off and like Player it just stops at the end leaving you screaming WTF!! Why does Pamela DuMond do this to us? In this book Evie is hired to work with top actor Jake Keller who is losing all interest in his work and pulling away from everyone. It’s Evie’s job, as an empath, to find out what is causing Jake to pull away and to heal him.
Breaking down Jake’s walls isn’t easy and when you finally discover why, it is heart-breaking. Pamela DuMond deals with this issue fantastically and with sensitivity.
As with the first book, there are other subplots going on too. We get more of her dealings with Easton Wolff, one of the brothers who her mother ran over when they were teenagers. We also get more of her mother’s story, her mother who has been receiving psychiatric help since this incident years ago.
I really enjoyed this book, more so than the first book in the series. Evie is a wonderful, compelling character and I look forward to see what the author has in store for her in the next 2 books in this series.

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Courtesan series and it was such a fantastic book to pass the time with. I would recommend reading the 1st book before this one so you can completely understand all that has happened so far. I really enjoyed book 1 and so I was looking forward to this one and was hoping it would live up the the high expectations I had for it… and it did! It was an amazing book and like I predicted, this author is going to be one of my favs! I was pulled into this story from page one and I DEVOURED IT. The main characters are very likeable and the story line keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see where you’ll be taken to next. I am excited to see what else this author writes in the future and I would recommend this book to a friend!

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Series Book #2) by Pamela DuMond – Review by Angela Hayes

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star is the highly anticipated second instalment in the 21st Century Courtesan Series by Pamela DuMond. I can’t get enough of this series, and characters! Ms. DuMond won me over with the first book, and earned herself a spot on my ‘must-read’ list. As this book picks up right where the first book left off, and has quite a few recurring characters, I really recommend reading book #1 before starting on this one- as the first book gives all the important backstory and character introductions, which you should know in order to fully appreciate this brilliant book! As with the first book, this one made quite an impression. It’s got originality in spades, while being complex, funny, HOT, sexy, erotic, suspenseful, mysterious, and intriguing- which is the perfect recipe for an addictive read.
As we discover in book one, Evelyn Berlinger (Evie) is an empath who had quite a tumultuous childhood, especially one particularly tragic event which changes her life forever. Because of this tragedy she suppressed her empathic abilities- shutting them down and just tried to get on with her life. But on reaching adulthood, she was left with no choice but to take on the financial responsibility for her family, which put a heavy strain on her, and her finances. So, when an opportunity arises that would enable her to earn a lot of money- Evie accepts. And that’s how she started working for the ‘Ma Maison Agency’, as a high priced escort- using her empathic abilities to provide a unique experience for her wealthy clientele, who willingly pay her costly fee to help ‘heal’ whatever has ‘broken’ them and is ‘holding them back’. But her ‘job’ hasn’t been without its problems, and Evie now wants out. She’s down to the last few clientele, and we get a front row seat to it all.
In this book Evie flies out to Los Angeles, to work with A-List actor and Oscar contender, Jake Keller. Jake should be using the Oscar opportunity to catapult his career to dizzying heights- but instead he’s become closed off, shut everyone out, and retreated from the world. His ‘team’ is concerned for him and his career- and as a last resort, Evie is called in to ‘help’ him find and deal with his issue. But this won’t be such a simple task. There is a lot playing out under the surface- with secrets, guilt, hidden agendas, and Hollywood politics, all coming into play. Then, add in a crisis back home, an on-going ‘stalker’ issue, and a unexpected work situation….. and this story really takes off!!!
I loved Evie from the moment I met her in book #1, she’s a fantastic character- wonderfully complex, unique, endearing, interesting, and entirely memorable- I have loved every second of her story and have become completely invested in her and the outcome. I loved meeting Jake this time round, his story was unexpected, but really well done. I also love all the secondary, characters, who really added their own ‘stamp’ to the story. There are a few characters who stand out and intrigue me, and I hope we will get to know much more about them in the next book/s.
Now I really can’t wait for the next exciting instalment, “Beloved”, to be released- soon, I hope!!!! SQUEEEEE Bring on book #3!!!

Thank you, Ms. DuMond!

5-Stars

In book two, Evie focus on healing heart throb movie star Jake Keller. Her character seems to have matured more since the first book of the series and she faces several daunting tasks in this novel. I love her character even more in this book than I did in the first book. She embraces herself in this book and really steps it up. I am extremely curious who her Fan is. The storyline flowed easily in this novel keeping my attention. It was written well and I look forward to reading more in this series.

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan Series by Pamela DuMond. This series should be read in order as this story follows the first book. The characters are great and the story flows, but also has mystery and suspense that will leave you on the edge of your seat throughput. Evie is such an unusual character that you just have to love because she take pain away from people and give them a second chance. This is my new favorite book by Ms. DuMont, but I have high hopes for the third book in the series. I can’t wait to find out what will happen next.

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan by Pamela DuMond. I hated having to put it down, especially the closer I got to the end. I really feel like the book turned a pivotal corner in Wisconsin of all places.

Evie continues to try and heal her clients and this time it’s a Hollywood star by the name of Jake Keller. He is on the cusp of becoming huge but something is holding him back and it’s Evie’s job to figure it out.

I really like Evie a lot, there are a few others I like as well but I think they’re going to have larger roles in the next book.

I will be waiting impatiently for the next book since this one has left me hanging. I hope I don’t have to wait long.

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan by Pamela DuMond. I might have liked this a little better than Player. I mean who wouldn’t want to go to movie premieres and Hollywood parties with a sexy man candy. And don’t get me started on the steaminess that goes on in the bedroom. With everything Evie has going on with Jake, she still has a “Fan” lurking in the shadows. Pamela’s writing is unique and kept you guessing with the twists. Her secondary characters are enjoyable and I want more of them. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Movie Star by Pamela DuMond is book two in the 21st Century Courtesan Series. After reading book one, Player, and falling in love with Evie, I had to see what book 2 would be like. Let me tell you Movie Star does not disappoint. Evie is with her next client Jake and it’s a whole new adventure. This story has a mixture going on with it but it keeps you hooked and wanting more the entire time. Easton Wolfe makes another appearance and throws Evie off. Her admirer comes and goes as he pleases and creeps her out. But what will happen with Evie and Jake is the big question, can she heal him or will every thing else get in the way and impact her ability.

This is the second novel in the 21st Century Courtesan series and I would recommend you read them in order as they do tell the whole story. There is lots going on in this one again like the first, but Pamela DuMond has a great way for keeping it clear and making it easy for you to keep up. The darkness in the story is well done and will keep you gripped, the suspense level is thrilling. Jake was a character who surprised me his story was great, and he will grow on you till you adore him as much as you adore the amazing Evie.

I give MOVIE STAR (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) by Pamela Dumond, 4 stars.
This review may contain spoilers from book 1.

Evie is a courtesan with high dollar clients. She is empathic and uses these powers to heal broken men. Her newest client is Jake, a very popular movie star. But he is the toughest client she has had. It is so hard for her to find the root of the problem. Plus he keeps running away, making it almost impossible to do her task. Can she get to the bottom of it and heal this broken man? At what cost to her?

This is a wonderful book. Jake is a great man, but hurting so much. Evie just wants to make this great man better. I have liked Evie from the very beginning and this book shows her growing into who she wants to be. But she still has so many struggles, both from the past and the present. There is so much more going on than just Evie healing Jake. I could not put the book down and cannot wait to read the next one. I actually liked this book better than the first one.

This book can be read as a stand alone, but I do recommend reading book one to get the complete story.

Movie Star by Pamela DuMond is a great addition to her series 21st Century Courtesan. Ms. DuMond has written a new romance series, but there are so many angles that it has a bracket all of it own in my genre lists. The characters are amazing and the story line is fully develop and keeps bringing me back to the story when I think I have figured out some of the mysteries going on with the story. This book is the continuation of Evie but has added Jake the movie star in for some flair. It appears as if Jake has been taken back and Evie is not sure why he feels that way. She decides to help Jake and that is when everything comes forward. Will Evie help Jake and will Jake help Evie back?

Evelyn has so many big heavy thing put on her shoulders at such a young age. With bills piling up she did what she had to do to keep her head above water. In my younger years I would have judged someone for doing what Evelyn did. But with age comes wisdom and I get it now.

I’m curious to see where this adventure takes us. What’s going to happen? Is she going to find love? Happiness? I certainly hope so.

I just finished reading Player *book 1* by Pamela DuMond.

Meet Evie Berlinger – a woman with many layers – a teacher, a sister, a daughter, a friend and an escort.

She has had to overcome a lot of hurdles in her young life, one being an incident that made a lasting impression on her 13 year old self, something that she still thinks about today.

Evie is a very selfless, caring person that tries her best to take care of everyone around her and when her empathic abilities come back in full force, she decides to use them in order to help Dylan McAlister.

Dylan McAlister has an interesting background as well and like Evie, he has had to learn to live with his not so perfect past.

Being an escort can be demanding enough but Evie goes above and beyond for her clients that are going through some tough times.

Amidst all of this, Evie starts to receive some fan mail.

Who is sending these letters to her and what is their ultimate goal?

I know I can’t wait to find out!

This was such an interesting book to read – very refreshing with some very solid characters!
I loved Evie’s friends and I loved meeting Dylan’s family as well.

Thumbs up for Pamela DuMond – I can’t wait to read her other books!

The main character is called Evie and i just cant help but feel for her and her tragic start in the world. She is strong and beautiful and she had such a giving soul. I loved her.
She meets Dylan through her work when she takes him on as a client. She has a special knack for helping men heal and that is exactly what Dylan is needing.. Will she end up helping him heal or will she end up destroying him in the process?
I highly recommend reading this book! Go get it now!

I will say there story at the beginning and then at the end when they make a comeback makes you wonder what’s going to happen next. Ok so I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started to read this book. Let me tell you it wasn’t long before I couldn’t put the book down. What we have here is not your normal romance book, which was a nice break away from our everyday romance stories. So, we have Evie who is a teacher, Dylan who is the son of a church leader who has left the church. Evie has most of her life looked after her mom who suffers from mental health issues and her younger sister. But now with mounting bills, Evie decided she needs to earn extra money. One of her friends suggests that she becomes an escort, at first, she says no but now she is buried under a mass of bills and decides to join her friend at Ma Maison Agency. Evie had no idea that she would be such a good escort. Enter Dylan one of the agencies clients. There was an instant spark between Evie and Dylan but was falling in love with him in her plans? Dylan was not having any luck at the poker tables and is hoping Evie who he sees as his lucky charm will change things at the tables for him. What I liked about this book was that the story just flowed and that’s what made it an easy and enjoyable read. If book one is this good, I think we are in for a good series.

Dylan is a broken man and needs healing and Evie might be the only one who can heal him. What will happen between them? What will happen when someone starts stalking Evie? This book will take you on an emotional journey you won’t want to miss. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.
