A PERSON COULD DISAPPEAR HERE BY TERRI GEORGE – REVIEW BY MELISSA AGENA

A Person Could Disappear HereA Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

HOLY COW! I was intrigued from the beginning but did not expect it to be so freaking good! A Person Could Disappear Here is a novel written by Terri George. This book is full of suspense and mystery. I loved every minute of it! Abbey is from London and has met a man on Facebook whom she is going to fly to Denver to meet. His name is Jensen. We don’t know much about Jensen except that he is handsome and is super perfect for Abbey. Everything goes well until they go into Nebraska to meet up with Jensen’s grandfather who is getting out of the hospital supposedly. That’s when everything goes wrong. That’s when Cristina, Abbey’s bestfriend steps in and starts her own search party to find her since she did not come back to London. However, that’s when EVERYTHING starts to become twisted and crazy! Like I said before, I did not expect things to turn out the way that they did. I seriously couldn’t put this book down and I in fact wanted to read more. But I was glad the end turned out the way that it did. I can’t wait to read more from this author if they are going to be just like this one!

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George is a thrilling suspense- with plenty of mystery, drama, emotion, intrigue, danger, despair, determination, courage, strength, hope, friendship, and surprising developments. This fairly dark read is gritty, raw, disturbing, intense, and brutal in parts. There were scenes that were quite difficult to read- but the compelling nature of the story made me want to know what would happen- and I needed to know how things would play out in the end. This is my first read by Ms. George, so I was very unsure of what I would find once I opened the book. but after finishing this story, I definitely want to explore more of her work now . A lot happens in this complex story- especially emotionally. Things I won’t go into in any detail, because I don’t want to spoil it for you. But I will say that Abbey takes a chance on love- a chance that places her in a very dire situation. We are led through a story which puts a focus on the dangers of social media, on-line relationships, and much more. It is a very thought provoking read that really gave my emotions a work-out.
Everyone needs a friend like Cristina- that there is true friendship!! Abbey made my heart ache for what she endured. The story is told from both their POV’s, so we get to really ‘see’ what’s going on.
It is apparent how much attention to detail, meticulous planning, and research went into this story- all the hard work made for a very gripping and believable story.
I am looking forward to more!

Thank you, Ms. George!

This is a novel loaded with suspense and mystery. This is not a romance, while some would think so.

Abbey has been chatting with someone she met online. After awhile she decides to take a leap and meet him. So she travels abroad to meet Jensen. Jensen is not who she thought him to be. But that is only a small part of what you will find in this story. No Spoilers Here.

Terri George has written one of the most suspenseful stories I have read in awhile. She starts this story right in the beginning. Fast paced and terrifying at the same time. Her female characters are strong and determined. All I can really say…. Is not all things are as they appear. Not all people are as they appear. This novel will not disappoint! Job well done Terri George! I look forward to reading more from this author.

I want to say so much about this story but don’t want to give anything away. I feel that I CANNOT do it justice by trying to be evasive. So this is my review:

A quote: “It’s all about perspective.”

Wow!

READ THIS BOOK!!!

Another quote: “Who among us can cast the first stone? We are all guilty of some transgression or other.”

Great World Building
Sustained Anticipation
Fantastic Visualization
Mind Blowingly Plotted

Seriously, it’s worth the read.

I did NOT see that coming! A Person Could Disappear Here is the first book I have read by Terri George, and it left me blown away. I will offer a trigger warning, as it is a story of a woman who is kidnapped, and kept locked up and sexually abused. The story alternates views between Abbey, who is the prisoner, and her best friend Cristina, who is on a mission to rescue her. Abbey and Cristina are like sisters, and live together in London. Abbey has an online relationship with a man, Jensen, and decides to fly to Denver to meet him in person. He seems amazing at first, until he takes her to his grandfather’s house in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska. He takes her phone, and her falling off the grid is what raises alarm in Cristina. She decides to travel to the US with her brother, in search of Abbey. The story has a lot of suspense and I didn’t want to put it down. The ending is not what I expected, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. However, I highly recommend it. It was well written and heartfelt. The characters and their relationships are wonderful. Cant wait to discover more by Terri George.

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George is a kidnapping thriller I could NOT put down. This book held me from page one and until the final page, I read this in two sittings because I HAD to know what happened. Abbey meets a guy online and after coming to meet him, she finds HE is NOT the fun loving and romantic man she thought he would be. She finds herself kidnapped and being held in a small town in Nebraska. She knows her changed of breaking out are slim, so he holds onto the hope someone will come looking for her. When Abbey doesn’t make her flight back home, her friend and roommate knows that something is wrong and goes to search for her.
Terri George really gave us a raw and emotional read with amazing twists and turns. There were a few parts that I found hard to read but also make this book more powerful. I highly recommend this five star read!!!

I thought this book was pretty creepy. This should be used as a cautionary tale of the world we live in today. The scenes were so vivid that at times I smelled the alcohol wafting in the air and I felt my stomach turning in fear of what would happen next. Though at times the language was different than what I am used to, I had no problem being enthralled by this fast paced thriller that kept me up way into the night. If you want a good thrill, then this is definitely for you.

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George is a one of a kind read. This gripping storyline had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole way through. This storyline had me speechless from the journal entries with hard to read details and the dual POV which added an extra layer of depth and to the shocking ending. The ending completely took me by surprise which made me love this story even more.

This was my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Mouth on the floor. I’m shell shocked right now. Women can be so evil. I’m literally confused over what I read. This story was too good to be true. Like wow. The author has you by the down below through the whole story. You will be on the edge through the whole thing. The ending was ridiculously epic. You don’t see it coming.

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George is thankfully a fictional story but could be a true story. You simply don’t think about the consequences no matter how careful you think you are.

Abby thought she was doing everything right after she met this guy online. She flies over to meet him, meet in public, stay in a hotel, etc Things seem to be going well until they weren’t. Who knew a road trip would take such a turn.

Abby was lucky to have her best friend at home to realize something wasn’t right.

It was a well written eye opening story. I met my husband online almost twenty three years ago and looking back I was an idiot, thankfully he wasn’t a psycho.

A person could disappear here is an incredibly captivating mystery thriller that is engaging and you are totally unable to put this read down.
Terri George has created a read that is well written, has an incredible plot and even better characters. I can’t believe that this is the only time I have ever heard of this author, after reading how brilliant this book is Terri George will most defiantly become one of my go-to authors.
This book is one of those books where giving away just a simple part in a review could ruin the whole book, this is a book you want to spend your time letting it sink in, that will leave you on the edge of seat and keep you turning the pages until the very end, and even then its a book that sticks with you a while after you’ve read it. This is an emotional read, that raw and really makes you stop and think.

This is a book that should not be missed! It will have you hooked from the very start right until the very end, not wanting to put it down! Don’t miss this read.

A Person Could Disappear Here By Terri George. This book definitely had my head spinning. The author does an incredible job of writing about issues some may have a hard time reading. The attention to even the simplest details can be seen and I applaud the author for going through such lengths to write such an emotional story. It’s told in duel point of views and I always feel that makes for a more rounded storyline. This is my first book by this author but I’ll definitely be looking into more. It’s well written and paced nicely. It’s an emotional roller coaster ride for sure. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it.

I was very excited to read A Person Could Disappear. It started off great! But as the story progressed I found myself skipping ahead as the characters seemed to go off on tangents. Some of it may have been necessary but it threw the story off for me. I wanted to get the interaction between the characters. It has a good story line and the characters are interesting. It should have a trigger warning and some scenes were hard to read.

I really really liked how this started out. It looked like it was going to be a favorite book. The beginning was all excitement and started my mind moving. Who, what? And Why? But as the story moved forward all of that came crashing down. This is a story that mostly contains narrative and the characters go off on tangents about a multitude of things in the middle of a thought. It completely throws me off the story and I start to skip ahead. I want to get back to the story. I know some of that was needed but i also want to move forward. I am a dialogue person…I need more of that to keep me focused and interested in the story. The way the author made me feel like I was talking to myself or my best friend was done perfectly.

I really liked the prologue. Seriously if you normally skip it…don’t…just read it!

This is a first time author for me. The weaving of the tale was perfectly done. The story drew me in but at time struggled to keep me interested. The characters were difficult to care about. But that ending….not what I thought it would be at all. So the author did an amazing job in that respect. Glad I pushed through.

This was an amazing read! Oh my gosh seriously fantastic! I was hooked from the very beginning until the end – I think what was actually so enthralling about it was how easily this could be a real story. The storyline was so realistic I could almost have been watching a film! I was constantly guessing what was going to happen the whole way through – the author didn’t give away any clues. I honestly was on the edge of my seat whilst reading Abbey’s journal entries, I had so many questions whilst reading, and I loved it!!! Cristina was the epitome of a friend and what true friendship represents; she had a gut feeling about her friend and would do anything for her.
This is definitely a book that needs to be experienced because it is difficult not to give too much away and therefore spoil it! All I can say is that A Person Could Disappear Here was an amazing read and one that I wholeheartedly recommend!!

WOW WOW WOW WOW!!! This book is a mind trip! To tell you that I did not see the ending coming is an understatement. Terri George is brilliant for this book, and all of the details in the story! The twists in this book are outrageous and totally had me mouth open and shocked!

My heart aches so much for Abbey and what she is going through. Psychologically she will be ruined forever, physically she will heal but not forget. Her best friend Christina, is brave and an amazing person to travel across the ocean in search of her friend and bring her home, dreading something is terribly wrong.

I can’t say anymore, you will have to take my word that this book is COMPLETELY worth the read. The secondary characters are wonderfully written and contribute to the book and story perfectly. The story is mind blowing and I can’t get over how creative and original it is. I highly recommend!

Full of mystery and suspense, the author absolutely hits this out of the park weaving a tale so real and so true that I just knew that it was really happening, that maybe it had already happened to someone I know. I can’t explain it well but I guess I became so invested, so engrossed in the story that I truly was transported into the pages. Traumatic, explosive, suspenseful, nail biting – what a fantastic thrill ride. Loved every single page.

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George is an amazing read. This story had me on the edge of my seat at points and trying to figure out all the puzzles. The story is told from two points of views. First, is Abbey, who has traveled to meet a man she met online. The second is from the view of Cristina. She is Abbey’s friend and is set to find Abbey when she doesn’t return from meeting the man. I will not say more about the plot specifically. Just know that this is an emotional read and the author put research in to get to the heart of the subject. I was kept wondering how everything would play out in the end. The subject is tough but I believe it was handled well and kept realistic. I am going to be on the lookout for more from this author in the future.

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terry George is a mind bending read in a sense that it feels so real that you feel chills running down your spine … it is an emotional story that tells us a story how far we might go in search of a perfect partner … it is scary … it reminds me of those many stories we have seen in the news and been horrified by … It is also a story of faith and hope and courage …
We have Abbey who comes all the way from the UK to meet with the guy she has met online … Jensen … he seems so perfect … and he is so skilled at playing her! You can imagine what happens next … And then there is Cristina, Abbey’s best friend since they were five years old! Best friends never give up! She knows something has happened to Abbey so she grabs her brother and they head to the US to find Abbey!
The writer tells us majority of the story through Abbey’s journal entries and that makes it even more real, it makes you to start thinking what it means to have no control over your life, your body … no way out … what would you do in Abbey’s shoes?

Ok so first I’m wondering why I haven’t read anything by this author up to this point. This was an amazing book, one that totally messed with my mind.

I cant even go into any of the storyline because Im afraid I will say too much and that absolutely would not be fair to anyone thinking about reading this story., and you really must read this story.

My jaw is still on the floor, this author totally floored me and I LOVED it, that is one of my favorite things about reading is when I have no idea what’s going to happen and then I have to go back and reread while asking myself…Whoa…hold on…what did I just read.

I loved the friendship feel in this story as well as the family bonds and the whole meeting someone on FB and how true so much of that is.

I’m simply speechless and can not wait to go find more books by this author, I literally could not put this book down and if this is any indication of the writing style of this author…Count me in! I also want to mention how much I love the cover of this book..Just beautiful.

Holy Moly what a book!

This book is so real and even if we don’t want to we also get to know her abductor Jensen as well. There are moments in this story that are hard to read but those moments are part of what makes this such a great read. In order to find out if Cristina finds Abbey or if she escapes this is a must read. A Person Could Disappear Here is an addictive novel that I could not put down. There is mention of rape, abduction, and abuse in this novel that one should be aware of before hand in case the reader is not a fan of something like that. There were several difficult scenes that I read through. My heart ached for main characters Abbey and Cristina. They both had their own forms of torture taking place in this novel. I really enjoyed the storyline though even if it was a bit darker than what I usually read. I do highly suggest this novel though!

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George was a raw realistic read, that will have you second guessing what you believe to be true, and have you wondering what you would do in Abbey’s shoes.

My first read by this author, and I have to say I’m going to be adding them to my watch list. This story was a tough one, it’s as I said, raw, emotional and has many grey areas. It makes you think, and it showcases the dangers of grooming and stockholm syndrome. It’s easy to judge when you’re not the one in the situation. Terri Geros did a wonderful job with this book, talented you can tell heavy research went into this read.

Told in dual POV, we not only get Abbey’s journal like entries we get her best friends Cristina’s. She truly shone and was a major driving force in this story. Relentless, nothing was going to stop her, and I loved that strong friendship and love. I liked how Addy’s story was told through the journal like entries, it felt more personal, and it makes you connects on a deeper level. It’s helps with the outside looking in, and it adds a layer of complexities to the plot, instead of you’re normal, disappear and find, type mysteries.

Overall this book is a super high recommendation from me, and it gets my stamp of approval. You will not regret this read, even if some parts will be harder to read then others, but that realism, that real world situation, makes this book more than a must read, but a necessity. It highlights the dangers that surround social media, fake personas, and how easy it is to completely have someone fall head over heels, not knowing what hells await.

Happy Reading

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George is a suspense thriller and Wow, my mind is officially blown. Never in a million years would I have predicted the ending. Wow, just Wow. So not what I expected. The storyline is like nothing I have read or imagined. It is a gripping and captivating tale that is raw and powerful and also sinister in its development. Terri has masterfully woven the threads of this tale and turned it on it’s head. It is not an easy read but there is no putting it down as you have to know, you need to know how it ends. Emotionally you will not be the same. On the edge of my seat was an understatement. Heart beating in my chest with thoughts of fight or flight in my head I continued on and once again, WOW. The things we do for love.

I am not going to talk about the plot, which is so clever, I will leave it for you to read and enjoy on your own.

The story A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George is a book that has mystery and suspense. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until you have read the final page. It tells the tale of Abbey who learns that the man she met online and now has come to see in person is not who she thought he was. She finds herself abducted and held in a house in Nebraska. Far from home, she holds onto the hope of rescue and also looks for ways to escape. Cristina is Abbey’s best friend. She knows that something is wrong when she doesn’t hear from Abbey and can’t contact her. Cristina is stubborn, feisty, and not afraid to say what she thinks. She is also kind and won’t back down when she sets her mind to a task. She goes to the states in search of Abbey. Will Cristina be able to find the clues that will lead her to Abbey? Will Abbey be rescued? Read this book to find out. Following Cristina, while she tries to find Abbey is like trying to put together a puzzle. This is an exciting read that had my emotions going up and down all the time. Cristina and Abbey are best friends and you can feel how much they care about each other. There is emotional and intense dialogue. This is a book that I would recommend reading.
