I just love when I read a book and it actually feels like I’m right there in that very location with the characters ! It’s like I just want to grab my passport , pack my bags and go 😉

Jorja arrives at Istanbul airport and her best friend isn’t there to meet her and when she arrives at the hotel all her things are there and nobody can reach her and nobody has heard from her in a few days 🤷‍♀️😱 has Gabriella been abducted !?

The hunt is on for Gabriella but Jorja has her hands full with a foreign country , foreign language , strange culture and customs , bribery , corruption , greed , lies and dangerous characters .

Despite the feelings of anxiousness , fear , suspense and everything else there was a strong sense of the value of friendship and friends are the family we choose , our family not by blood and Jorja went all out for hers , she’s someone I’d want in my tribe 😉

Knight In Peril (A Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery) by Alice Bienia – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book # 6 of the Jorja Knight Series. I have only read one other book from this series and while both are good. I do feel a little lost in this last one. I definitely recommend reading all of them in order. That being said, Jorja entered into another country to spend time with her friend Gabriella. Unfortunately Gabby and another friend of Gabby’s has gone missing. Will Jorja be able to find Gabby and the other woman? I really like Jorja but I feel like she trusts too easily in this book and it seems to back fire a lot. While I am still reading this book, I do plan on going back and reading the other books of this series because I found out something’s in this story that I didn’t know before. Which is probably why I feel lost. So do not skip any of the books, read them in order.

Knight In Peril (A Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery #6)Knight In Peril by Alice Bienia

This is the 6th book in the Jorja Knight mystery series, and it just keeps getting better and better. When I finished the last book in this series, I was so excited to get started on this next book and read all about how Jorja would be going on vacation to travel with her best friend Gabriella. As with any mystery story, you know a private investigator isn’t going to get a vacation that easily. This book lived up to my expectations and then so much more, it has such amazing world-building, along with descriptions of places all around the world taking me to places I’ve never even dreamed of going. I love the descriptions and the situations that our main character is put into, they are so realistic, it’s exactly what I would expect to happen when traveling so far away from home. The fear and anxiety that this story provokes are so amazing, I was worried for Jorja and Gabriella both, never knowing what might happen next. This book kept me on my toes, I was unable to put it down until I got through the entire book in one sitting! I am now going to go back and start back at book number 1 and read through the entire series because if the first 4 books are anything like the last two, I’ve read, I cannot wait to dive in for the ride of my life! Solving mysteries and fighting crime, what an amazing way to spend my day from the comfort of my own home.

Knight In The Museum (Jorja Knight #5)Knight In The Museum by Alice Bienia
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was the first book I’d read in the Jorja Knight mystery series, and I absolutely loved it! This story had me following along every twist and turn with all the different clues Jorja kept following along as she tried to piece together the mystery behind the death of former PI Howard’s untimely demise. The characters were developed so dynamically, that you wondered who may have been involved in the obvious crimes committed. I was shocked at all of the different clues that Jorja was able to uncover from such little nuggets of information she was able to find, it showcased the powerful job that she performed as a private investigator. The outcome of what was going on was astounding, I was shocked, but excited at the same time when I got to the end of the book with how everything had turned out. There are a lot of surprises that you could never have guessed, which is something that only the best mystery books contain. I can’t wait to read more of this series by this author, I feel like there is so much I don’t know about the main characters that I’m excited to go back and learn about them.

Jorja and her best friend, Gabriella Rizzo, have booked a vacation to Istanbul. Upon her arrival, she finds it odd that Gabriella isn’t there to greet her at the airport as planned. When she sees that her bestie has left her items in the place they’re to be staying she knows something is up. It was no use alerting the police because they didn’t take her seriously. She has no jurisdiction in that country to even begin to look for Gabriella, so what is she to do? Everything seems to be working against her and time may br running out for both of them. This was a gripping and fast paced mystery thriller that kept me glued to the pages. If mystery or crime solving of any kind is for you I highly suggest reading this book. I’m sure any one of these books in the series would be great to add to your library.

Jorja is asked by a young lady to investigate the death of her father who was a police officer. As she starts digging she finds that a cursed pre-Columbian artifact is linked as well as another suspicious death. The more she digs, the more she puts her own life at risk. Knight in the Museum is a fast paced mystery that will keep you turning the pages. This was the first book I have read by this author and I absolutely enjoyed it.

From the very beginning this book grabbed me instantly in. Page one and on, the author’s ability to describe situations and Jorja’s emotions, I knew I was going to be able physically feel what Jorja is feeling. There were so many twists and turns, and heart stopping moments I couldn’t put the book down. This was the sixth book in the series and I didn’t feel like I needed to read the first five to understand what was going on, however, I’m pulled in and will be going reading book one.

Knight In Peril (A Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery #6)Knight In Peril by Alice Bienia

This is the 6th book in the Jorja Knight Mysteries Series. I loved this story and was hooked from the first page. The author has a way of writing that grips you from the first page and doesn’t let go. I haven’t read many in this Series but it didn’t stop me enjoying this book so I feel they can be read as standalone.
In this story we are with PI Jorja Knight as she arrives in Istanbul to spend time with her best friend Gabriella.
However things don’t go to plan and Gabriella doesn’t meet Jorja at the airport. Was it just a mistake?
When Jorja checks in and realises that Gabriella checked in days ago but is no where to be found, then Jorja starts to worry. Could something bad have happened to her best friend?
She is now on a race against time to find her friend however it won’t be easy as she had to work her way through secrets, lies and deceit as well as corrupt politicans and witnesses bribed to change their story.

It is a rollercoast of a ride but Jorja is determined not to give up until she locates her friend. You won’t be able to put this book down until you get to the end. I was completely invested in Jorja’s fight to get to the truth and find her friend.

I absolutely loved the last book in this series and had to see where this next one takes Jorja. This time she travels to Turkey with her best friend, Gabrielle, but when she arrives, she is nowhere to be found. Not answering her phone, suitcases located and no one has her from her in days. This has Jorja left baffled at her missing friend in a foreign country. All possible theories come into question and the fact she is in unfamiliar territory makes the possibilities endless. While discovering secrets and lies, she starts uncovering what lies beneath of what is going on in the city of Istanbul. Seeing how strong and inquisitive Jorja gets in each of her cases shows such strength and courage even when personal matters get tangled in the midst of her investigations. Wonderful story and series!

Even though this is the fifth book in the series, this read was my first one in the series. When jumping into a series, you never know what to expect whether to be thrown off in details from picking up in the middle of the series or being able to flow again with the story at hand. It was so great reading details brought back from previous ones to help better understand the characters and past experiences. Then in itself, learning of this crime that had taken place when a private investigator goes missing and then found dead, many questions come back. Jorja, a strong female character who is a private investigator and helps try to solve the mystery of the murder of a former police officer. With the unraveling mystery behind this murder, a pending label on a current fling and venturing through the Canadian badlands, there are twists and turns that make this read worth the while!

Knight In Peril (A Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery #6)Knight In Peril by Alice Bienia
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Knight in Peril is the 6th book in the Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery series. I wouldn’t say this series necessarily needs to be read in order, the books work fine as standalones, but Knight in Peril will have more impact if you are already familiar with Gab from earlier books!

This story builds on anxieties around women travelling alone, as Jorja arrives in Istanbul to find her friend Gab is not there to meet her as planned. She then has to combine her skills as a PI with police forces in Istanbul and back home in Canada to try to find Gab, whilst also keeping herself safe alone in an unfamiliar country.

I love that in amongst the mystery plot we are treated to descriptions of Turkish food, landmarks and culture. It really feels like a holiday in a book! (albeit a dangerous and stressful one…).

I’d recommend this series to fans of suspenseful mysteries. It gets five stars from me!

I reconnected with the main character straight away and I loved how the book seemed to throw you straight back into it.
The story was full of suspense and took the readers on a thrilling chase around a city most would be unfamiliar with. At times it had me on the edge of my seat as to how things would work out. Knight in Peril by Alice Bienia is the 6th book in the Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery. This book is part of a series, but can definitely be read as a standalone, even though I doubt you will want to! I am going to go back and read the previous books in the series just to get the full idea of who Jorja Knight is and her back story. Jorja Knight is a Private Investigator from Canada who is supposed to meet her friend Gabriella Rizzo in Istanbul, Turkey for a little bit of R&R, and soon finds out that she is going to have to use her investigative skills to solve a mystery involving her friend. When Jorja arrives to Istanbul, she finds it odd that her friend hasn’t showed up to meet her at the airport as planned, but then thinks that maybe messages were crossed and goes to their hotel to check in. When Jorja arrives, she quickly finds that Gabs things are in the room, but Gabs is not! Jorja starts to worry especially when Gabs doesn’t show up the next day, Jorja gets the feeling that something is very wrong, and decides to report her missing to the police who do not take Jorja’s concerns seriously. Jorja knows that she has no jurisdiction in Istanbul to look for Gab, but she knows that something is very wrong, and she can’t just sit by and hope for the best. That is when Jorja decides to take things into her own hands and starts investigating what possibly could have happened to Gabs. Will Jorja be successful in solving the mystery about what has happened to her friend, will she find herself in a bigger situation? The only way to find out is to pick up a copy of the book and read it yourself! I don’t think you will be disappointed at all!

Knight in Peril
By: Alice Bienia

This is the sixth book in the Jorja Knight Series. However, it is important to note that although it is the sixth book it definitely could read as a standalone. Jorja Knight has become one of my favorite Main Characters – she is strong, independent, smart, quick thinking, and a force to be reckoned with. I have loved each and every book in this series. This one adds an extra element of taking place in Istanbul.
In this book, Jorja is on the hunt for a missing friend. Gabriella has absolutely disappeared and it is up to Jorja to find her in an unfamiliar landscape of a foreign city. Then to add on top of this there is corruption, secrets and lies.
I definitely recommend reading this one and all the Jorja Knight books. They are well written mysteries that never disappoint!

Jorja Knight is a Private Investigator from Canada who is supposed to meet her friend Gabriella Rizzo in Istanbul for a vacation together. When Jorja arrives, she thinks it’s odd that her friend doesn’t show up to meet her at the airport as planned, but thinks that maybe signals had gotten crossed and goes to their hotel to check in. Jorja knows that has no jurisdiction in Istanbul to look for Gab, but she knows that something is wrong and she can’t just sit idly by and hope for the best while not knowing where her friend is. When a friend and traveling companion of Gab’s is found no longer alive, Jorja starts to really worry for her friends safety and accidentally makes mistakes with her own safety that ends up getting her to Gab in a dangerous way. Now Jorja and Gab have to find a way to save themselves in a foreign country with corrupt cops, and other challenges.

This is a missing persons case. It’s a cautionary tale for traveling tourists (are there any other types of tourists?). A suspense novel, yet it has a wisp of romance and fidelity running through it. Knight in Peril is the sixth book in the Jorja Knight series but the first book I have read by this author. That being said, this CAN be read as a standalone, as I had no difficulty following the story or characters along the way. I do think I would benefit more from reading previous books which would add to the character development and back story a bit, and I will be going back to read the others to confirm that. I really liked the main character, she is such a feisty spitfire of a woman that I could really get behind. The story takes place in Istanbul, where Jorja goes to visit her friend. Upon arrival, her friend is nowhere to be seen, and she isn’t back at the guest house either. Now, with a sinking feeling in her chest, Jorja must search the foreign land for her friend. I have never been to Istanbul but the descriptions and settings are absolutely believable and immersive. I really liked this writing and am kicking myself for picking up the series at the end!

Knight In Peril (A Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery #6)Knight In Peril by Alice Bienia
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A gripping mystery thriller with PI Jorja Knight, who this time is in Istanbul, an ancient and mysterious city. Jorja was supposed to be met at the airport by her best friend Gabriella Rizzo, but she does not arrive as planned. Jorja then goes to the guest house hoping to meet up with her friend but only her suitcases are there, Jorja starts to be concerned when Gabriella does not answer her phone, and she learns that no one has seen or heard from her in days. The PI fears the worst, that her best friend has been abducted and she starts her own investigation to find her. This plunges her into a dangerous world of lies, greed, and secrets, where politicians are corrupt, witnesses take bribes and suspects won’t talk. Jorja has no choice but to enter the dark underbelly of Istanbul’s city to find Gabriella. The intriguing storyline had me hooked from page one and the plot twists kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story. I loved the heroine of the story, Jorja and thought she was a great main character. The author brought the vibrant city of Istanbul vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the story. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Roadblock after roadblock, Jorja starts to lose hope. Nobody is talking, and greed is the name of the game. This book was an absolute gem to read. I loved reading Jorja’s mystery adventures.
