Make Me Burn (North Fork Series) by Alicia Street

Make Me Burn is the ninth book in the North Fork Series and is a Contemporary Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you’ve finished. What a wonderfully written second chance romance/best friends sister romance. The characters definitely have some sizzling chemistry between them. They’ve both wanted one another for long time but now that she’s older and he’s no longer best friends with her brother all bets are off. I highly recommend reading this sizzling hot story to find out if they get their HEA? I look forward to reading more from this Author.

This book is amazing!
Logan and Jinx are the perfect couple who have worked through many ups and downs, but love always prevails!
What turned out to be a misunderstanding led to years apart for the couple, but in the end, it turns out perfect. Fast, easy, and great read.

‘Make me burn’ by Alicia Street lives up to its title. This novel is the sizzling story of Jinx and Logan. They reconnect by chance and the teenage attraction that was “forbidden” by Victor Jinx’s elder brother explodes onto the pages. Lots of very hot sex scenes…Logan and Victor resolve their differences and love wins in the end.

This is book nine in the ‘North Fork’ series and I read it as a stand alone novel. It does contain references to the previous couples from the previous novels in the series but no real spoilers other than names.

This story pulled me in immediately and kept me interested through the entire (very quick) read. The chemistry between Jinx and Logan leapt off of the page and sizzled through the whole read.

Logan met Vic, Jinx’ older brother when they were in college and they became fast best friends. In light of how awful and unsupportive his home life and family was, Victor brought Logan home over the first college break and he was immediately welcomed into their fray. Victors parents considered him another son, Natalie another brother, but Jinx, the baby and black sheep of the family – she immediately fell in love. At several years younger than her siblings, she was always left behind by them and not quite understood, with her sensitive artists brain. But Logan understood. He told her and kept her secrets, inspired her motivation and talents, and let her be her whole self. They even had plans to attend college in the same city and visit the attractions as she grew older!

However, in the midst of grad school, Logan up and disappeared. He changed his number, deleted his email and left town without speaking to anyone except Victor and the story Victor told was that Logan deceived him and destroyed his trust. The family chose to believe Victor and accept the absence of Logan from their lives. Jinx, however, has spent the past 8 years measuring men against Logan and has been sorely disappointed.

When they run into one another at a wedding reception, they manage to avoid much catching up, but Logan finds her the next day and manages to send some business her way. After he makes her an offer of a night together to get each other out of their systems, they realize that getting out of each others systems wasn’t really something they could do. Will Jinx be able to get to the bottom of the rift between Victor and Logan? Will Logan be willing to take the risk of the threat from Victor to be with the woman who really sets his blood on fire? Will they ever be able to find their great love?

This was a really great book and I loved every minute of it. I do love an enemies to lovers romance and whilst the characters weren’t technically enemies there was a lot of history between them and an ex best friend thrown in. I loved the characters Logan and Jinx, they did seem to have this genuine connection and I have to admit when I first picked up the book I thought I had got the whole story and characters planned in my head but I was wrong. Logan, yes was you head strong business man but he also had a respectful side to him which I really liked. I really liked Jinx too, she was so down to earth and genuine but she was also a smart business woman with her head screwed on!
Overall a really good read and one that I would highly recommend.

This is a multi-pov book. There are multiple POVs in chapters too and the only telltale that it’s a new POV is a break in the page.

Logan- grumpy, workaholic. stopped trusting people due to an issue that happened between him and his ex-best friend.

Jinx- sleeps around with guys while waiting for her “larger-than-life true love” while also running a shop with her best friend.

This is a fast burn and there are spicy scenes in this book.

Overall the book wasn’t that bad. Make Me Burn by Alicia Street is the first book from the series I have read and will most likely read the others now. There’s drama, being reunited after so long, rekindling love, and finding out the truth for these two love birds and I am here for it!

THIS STORY DOES HAVE A HEA!

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series Book 9)Make Me Burn by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Make Me Burn is an ex-best friend’s sister/enemies-to-lovers type of story about Logan Bennett and Jinx D’Allessio. Logan Bennett is a wealthy businessman who used to live in North Folk, but quite some time ago left due to a falling out with his best friend. He is back in town for a wedding and runs into Jinx, the younger sister of said ex-best friend. Jinx is just as surprised to see him, one because he up and left her so many years ago after building a “secret friendship”, and two because he is the one person she has been in love with her whole life. After the wedding, the two try to build a friendship again – she never believed all the chaos that surrounded the falling out. In this friendship, they start to realize that there is more there, but what can they do since the turmoil of the family is so bad? How can they have a happily ever after when her family will never allow this?

I enjoyed this story. I thought the characters were great together. Jinx is an artistic, fun-loving, successful woman who knows what she wants and her worth. Logan is a strong, level-headed, determined businessman who goes after what he wants but is also respectful beyond measure about the situation that Jinx is in. Beyond the characters, it was a quick read that kept moving forward. There were also some sexy scenes, as well. I enjoyed this and would consider reading others in the series.

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series) by Alicia Street. I loved this book and it can be read as a standalone. Its the story of Logan who didn’t really have a family growing up so Victor a friend of Logan’s took him in and his family became Victor’s family. Victor has a little sister named Jinx and Jinx fell in love with Logan but knew there was no future because he was best friends with her brother. Logan and Victor have a falling out and Logan leaves without a goodbye leaving Jinx broken hearted. When she runs into Logan years later and they share a night together they realize the feelings are still there but with the feud still ongoing how will they make it work. This is such a good contemporary romance. Read to find out if Jinx can fix the rift between Logan and her family or even find out what it was about.

This was a quick but very good read. Logan was Jinx’s brother’s best friend. There is a big fallout between the two men which also meant that Jinx wouldn’t be part of his life anymore. Jinx had a crush on Logan for as long as she can remember and as she grew older it turned into more than a crush. It’s been a few years since Jinx and Logan have seen each other, then they see each other at a wedding. Logan has always had feelings for Jinx but could never act on it because of his relationship with her brother. Will they be able to get over the past so they can act on their feelings? This story has romance, drama, twists and turns, great characters and more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series Book 9)Make Me Burn by Alicia Street
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alicia Street’s Make Me Burn follows Jinx, who has been in love with her brother’s best friend, Logan, for as long as she can remember. The problem is, her brother Victor now hates Logan for betraying him years ago. When Jinx and Logan see each other again for the first time in years, they can no longer hide their feelings for each other, but the tension between Logan and Victor keeps coming between them. This was an enjoyable story with a lot of angst and plenty of romance. The only thing I found a problematic was the age gap, which would be fine but it was explained that he was attracted to her when he was in college and she was underage. My favourite character is Jinx because she’s a strong, independent woman, and I love it when romance books portray women as enjoyers of sex and not just innocent. I recommend this book if you can see past the age gap. Jinx and Logan clearly have a lot in common and strong feelings for each other so they are a couple to root for. ‘Every glimpse of Logan a treasured image to store away in her secret vault.’

This book is a great second chance romance. The characters have a fantastic chemistry right from the start and I loved watching their relationship evolve. The ex-best friend / little sister element to the book I think added more depth to the story. It gave them a great history to draw from and I think deepened their connection.
The story was fast paced and quick to read as it is a novella length story. However, I would have flown through it just as quick even if it were longer as it was such a good story to read. It was well written and an overall great story. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Billionaire Logan Bennett is back in North Fork for a wedding and wonders if he will run into anyone he knows, he does but he never expects it to be Jinx D’Alessio. Jinx is the sister to his ex-best friend and he has not seen her in years, she is stunningly beautiful and all grown up. He tries to stay away but the attraction between them is too hard to ignore. Acting on their feelings they can’t keep their hands off one another and are falling hard for each other, the problem is Jinx’s family still holds a grudge towards Logan and will not forgive him, but which side will Jinx choose?

Fast paced second chance romance. Jinx is a strong woman who has a magnetism to her that radiates on the pages. I really enjoyed her romance with Logan. Highly entertaining.

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series Book 9)Make Me Burn by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Make me burn is a book about a girl who had crushed big time on her big brothers best friend. Jinx was always in love with Logan who never really had a family of his own. When Logan and Victor met, Victor basically made him a part of his family, coming home on breaks and holidays.
When Logan disappeared abruptly, Jinx was heartbroken. He deleted his email, changed his phone number and she had no way to contact him. All she knew was, Victor now hated his former best friend Logan and the entire family took Victor’s side.
When Jinx and Logan run into eachother many years later sparks fly and it’s like they have been close all along. They agreed to have one night together since both have always wanted that. They had a great night together which made it clear they both still wanted eachother as much if not more then when they were younger.
The only problem now is Logan knows Vic hates him and so does his family. He refuses to come between Jinx and her family.
Will she be able to uncover the truth so these two have a chance for a happy ending after finally being able to get together ? Loved this book from beginning to end. Another great read by this talented author with absolute lovable characters.

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series) by Alicia Street – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

I couldn’t put this book down. Alicia did it again!! The characters that kept me going were Logan Bennett and of course Jinx D’Alessio. He was her brother’s best friend and her fantasy lover. Can they ever find a way to be together or are they destined to loved each other from afar? You must read the story to find that answer as I did. I felt the betrayal that happened between Logan and Jinx throughout the story, I also felt the love that they have had since they were teens. I felt a odd connection with Jinx because of her story about finding love at a young age and yet realizing that no one even notices except Logan. Logan has a harder time with everything because of something that might have happened between him and Vic (who is Jinx’s brother). I really think that you should read the North Fork Series Book 9.

Jinx D’Alessio would not settle for run of the mill. She wanted a big, dramatic, passionate love with a man whose very look could knock her off her feet. Too bad the only man who could do that was the one she could never have.

Make Me Burn is the ninth book in the North Fork series by Alicia Street. This is another steamy, heart-warming, and well-written contemporary romance that has a billionaire romance element, a second chance, brother’s (ex) best friend/(ex) best friend’s little sister, forbidden, grudges, history (between MC’s), chemistry, spice, tension, emotion, intrigue, and finding love unexpectedly.
As I love Ms. Street’s stories, I dove in as soon as this hit my Kindle, then pretty quickly realised that I knew this story because I had already read it a few years ago when it was part of the ‘Irresistible Weddings’ Anthology. I am definitely not sorry to have reread it again now, and have enjoyed it just as much this time round as I did when I first read it.
This is Jinx D’Alessio and Logan Bennett’s story- and they take us on quite a heartwarming tale, with just enough drama and angst to keep things interesting. Logan is in town for a friend’s wedding and certainly never expected to see his ex-best friend’s little sister, now all grown up and very enticing. The waters were very muddied after his falling out with her brother, but the bro-code doesn’t apply anymore- does it? – so game on. Jinx grew up having the biggest crush on Logan, but now he’s the whole package. But with her romantic history, she might be about to get burned. What happened? Well, it proved to be a very enjoyable story with plenty of heart.
This is a novella length story, which made for a very quick and easy read.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Alicia Street!

Make Me Burn by Alicia Street is the ninth book in the fabulous North Fork series. It is a brother’s best friend forbidden tantalizing tale that heats up the pages. I really enjoy reading Alicias work.
This wonderfully written tale this is a quick and easy read that will delight readers. I was drawn into the story and turning the last page before I knew it.
I was so engrossed and drawn into the characters’ lives and their journey to HEA. There is steam and a few twists, angst, passion, anger, love, steamy scenes, drama and a lot more in between. The want is intense and palpable that it oozes off every page. The story lived up to its title because burn they did.
She has been in love with him forever, but he has always been off limits in more than one way. But now she will take what she wants consequences be damned. She is going in full steam ahead.
When a sexy siren walks in his direction, he decides to make her his after all this time, brothers be damned. Challenge accepted!

Billionaire Logan Bennett wastes no time with games he can’t win. And that includes hooking up with the little sister of his best friend. Correction—ex-best friend.
Jinx D’Alessio had always been a firecracker, a little troublemaker who used to tickle his funny bone when she was a kid. But tonight her all-grown-up siren dance is tickling a different part of his anatomy. Finally getting his hands on the off-limits beauty would be poking the hornet’s nest of the feud he has with her brother—but it might be so worth it.
Jinx has been crazy over her big brother’s best friend since she was a teen, but she knew he would never touch her no matter how much she wanted it. Now, at twenty-nine, her history with men is like a bunch of bad rides at an amusement park.
After the trouble between Logan and her brother she knew she shouldn’t even be talking to him. But Jinx refuses to settle for a boring, run of the mill romance. She wants a big, dramatic, passionate love with a man who can knock her off her feet with one look.
Too bad the only man who can do that is Logan Bennett. The one she can never have.

By: Alicia Street

I find Alicia Street to be a fantastic author whose characters have a lot of depth and each book is better than the next. This is a 7 book set and I promise it is well work reading each one. Each book is well written and the books are completely heartfelt. The Rocklyns have a vineyard and while they love their family they love love even more. The best part of a box set is that you can read each book in succession and you don’t have to wait for the next one to come.

This is the first collection I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. I love reading small town romance but she exceeded all my expectations. This collection has seven books about an amazing family, the Rocklyns. I could not stop reading this family. Every book was about a different family member and who their one was. This set had all the tropes you could want: grumpy and sunshine, second chance, and my favorite forbidden love. It took me a few days but I did get through all of the books and I loved them all in their own way. This set was a steal and it was really good and you will love all of the characters as well. I also loved how she ended the series. I could see this as a tv show for sure. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

The Rocklyns Collection is an amazing collection of romance stories by Alicia Street. She is a masterful author, building realistic characters that you grow to understand and love through her magnificent writing skills. I love how these books continue to build upon the next book in the series, giving you a glimpse into several members of the Rocklyn family, including some siblings and cousins. Every book in the series ends with our main characters getting their happily ever after. The Rocklyn vineyards sound like a real place where people would go to vacation and enjoy the company of small-town living. The characters have such a huge variety of personalities and interests, that it makes for a wonderful set of storylines to keep you engaged in reading their stories. The author has a talent for writing stories full of romance with characters that are so caring for the needs of others, what a great testament to the importance of loving your neighbor and helping those in need. This series has a lot of great morals and examples of giving back to the community that help build up the characters in a wonderful light.

The Rocklyns Collection: Contemporary Romance Boxed Set (Books 1-7)The Rocklyns Collection: Contemporary Romance Boxed Set by Alicia Street
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Rocklyn’s Collection is a variety of romances between the Rocklyn cousins that brings the reader to experience different types of relationships. Happy, sad, love, friendship, love and hate. A love for one another that reads right through the page and into the reader’s heart. Not without its share of drama each of the 7 books focuses on a different Rocklyn offspring. One of those series you don’t want to put down. Just one more page, 2 hours later not realizing what that one page turned into.
7 stories and my favorite’s were books 1, 3, & 4. And no, I can’t pick one from there. Some of them feature second chance romance. Some feature workplace type romance. And some feature just needing to know who that person is and doing everything in their power to find out.
Book 1 Lovers in Training features the oh so stubborn Shannon and her savior/client Tate who can’t get enough of her.
Book 2 Maybe Lovers features bartender Carly and elusive not readily available Dr. Jeff.
Book 3 Rainy Day Lovers features Roman who had always been taken by the woman who gave him courage to take the next step and get himself off the streets, Raina.
Book 4 Encore Lovers features Emerson and the oldest Rocklyn winery son Matt Jr. as they rediscover what once was, when he made the regretful decision to walk away and marry someone of his father’s choosing.
Book 5 Never Lovers features the rekindling childhood romance between Patrice and Monty. Getting past the tragedies that tore them apart and finding out another again while being snowed in together.
Book 6 Improbable Lovers features the aloof(to his family) form military man Grant and stuntwoman Keisha while they navigate this feeling between them. Two both stubbornly independent people are in a new territory when they realize they want the other to be part of their lives.
Book 7 Windswept Lovers is the final book in this series set and it features wild child Tucker Rocklyn finally finding a woman in Max that can bring him to his knees. Just one problem: she’s the housekeeper of the woman that wants to make him hers.
Just a brief insight into each story. The instant love through some has you wondering what substance the story has, but it’s there. It’s used as a building block of development. Others it builds to love. It’s a series I will probably start over again on a rainy day. Maybe just maybe you may feel the same way as well!

Collections like this make me happy, I can binge a series of books instead of the dreaded waiting for the next book to come out.

We get to know the Rocklyn family and follow them as they fall in love with their people. Each couple meets in a different way and face their own challenges but they work through it to end up with their happy endings.

I loved each couple for different reasons, but think my favorite meets was Raina in Rainy Day Lovers which is the third book in the collection.

This series has been a great way to fill my days as I recover and plan to see what else has to offer.

WOW! This has been the most incredible boxed set I have read in quite a long time. I thought it was going to take me ages to get through this as it is 7 books, but I literally devoured them in one weekend. After loving the first two, I was worried that the series would have a lesser quality as the books went on. I’m pleased to say that they were all phenomenal, which is nearly an impossible feat with 7 entire books! You’ll be on an emotional rollercoaster throughout this series as we get to know all of the characters’ quirks and relationship webs. I kept falling in love with each character, all of which were incredibly well-developed. The flow of each story was seamless, and I never felt any awkward moments where I was pulled out of the book. I am experiencing such a deep book hangover as I didn’t want to part with these characters at all. This author has definitely made it to my watch list and I’m highly recommending this boxed set to everyone I know!

I live for reading an entire collection at once rather than waiting for each new release. Each book brought the story of another Rocklyn family member and their love interest. Despite practically being royalty due to their vineyard the Rocklyn family has their share of issues, especially when it comes to love.
Alicia Street’s writing is engaging and easy to read. Each character pulls you in and has you rooting for their happily ever after. Throughout the series Tucker was always a hoot. I was glad to see him get his own story to round out the series.

This series is focused on the Rocklyn family. I love how the stories are all different, but they wind together a little as the characters in each story are family. Each story was a pretty quick read and was highly enjoyable. This was a series in which it was very easy to binge read. I just wanted to read, read, read to soak up as much as this family and their lives as I could. They all had their issues, but they were all easy to love.

Dont let the length discourage you! These stories are totally worth it!
There are so many emotions within each story. We have happy, sad, steamy, and everything in between!
