A Tangy Christmas KissA Tangy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read a couple of books from this author and she always ends up surprising me. My favorite books are about Christmas and this author exceeded my expectations all over again. This is part of the Christmas Kiss series. They don’t have to be read in any order because they are a lot different couples. I was hooked on this book right from the beginning. It only took me a day to devour this magical book.

Mel loves her family and she can’t wait to spend Christmas with them. She is on her way back home when her mother tells she needs to go help out her Aunt in Spain. Mel finally gets to Spain and she is so lost. She doesn’t know much Spanish but she notices a very handsome man sitting next to her. When Mel gets to her Aunt’s house it not what she was thinking. It is anything but a beach vacation. She has animals to take care of and other chores. Mel gets help from this handsome stranger and she starts to feel some chemistry but can they get past the language barrier? Will Mel find something she never expected to find again, love or will she end up going home for Christmas alone?

I absolutely loved this book. This is the perfect book to get you into the Christmas spirit. It has everything you are looking for romance, humor, and love. You fall in love with these characters. Mel is so strong and loves her family so much. She will do anything for the person she loves. Lucas is the perfect gentleman. He can’t fight his feelings for Mel. The way he treats her will make you swoon. This author will have you at the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in this magical series.

A Prickly Christmas Kiss
By Allyson R. Abbott
Rated 4 stars

Emma Louise Fallon or more affectionately known as ELF is planning on a Christmas vacation in a cabin outside of North Polerton with her friend Carla. Carla calls with car trouble so she won’t be able to come. ELF ventures on by herself. On the way she stops in Polerton to get gas and meet a couple who she thinks are Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Once she get to the cabin she can’t believe how rustic it is. No light or heat or running water. A stray cat showed up and he seemed to help ELF when she needed it most. She starting thinking of him as a magical cat. She met a cop/town vet named Rudi with a swollen nose. He thought to help her survive out in the cabin and show her how to keep warm.
This was a cute Christmas story with a little bit a magic in it. I enjoyed the way the author made the town like the North Pole. Including all kinds of characters that would be involved with Santa. I was even suspicious of the random reindeer in the forest.

A Pink Christmas KissA Pink Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Pink Christmas Kiss is the third book in the Christmas Kiss series from author Allyson R Abbott. Even though these books are a part of a series, they can be read as a stand-alone, but personally, after enjoying each one of these, you would want to read them all. This is my third read from this author and once again I was totally captivated by her writing style her characters, and the brilliant storyline she has once again created. She has brilliant in-depth writing, she makes her reads descriptive and I can’t wait to read some other books from her. This one I think stands out the most to me, I thoroughly enjoyed this read, all characters in this series are down to earth and relatable, but there was just something about Billie & Leroy, especially Billie that was really relatable and real.

I love how each of these reads is set in small towns, it brings an extra special element to these reads that I thoroughly look forward to reading. This was such a heartwarming read that has friends, family, Second-chances, passion and determination.
Leroy and Billie have an undeniable connection even after the five years apart, but the connection they had before doesn’t take long before it’s brought to the front of there feelings,
Or other townsfolk wondering when they are going to be getting back together, they have a bit of a rough start, with the banter going back and forth and Billie always saying the wrong thing, but will they realise that their feelings are just too strong to deny and will Christmas be the time that brings them back together?

This is a brilliant short, easy read that you shouldn’t miss! I highly recommend this book and the previous two before.

So I’m not completely sure how many of this authors books I have read now but I know it’s been more than a few and that total will continue to grow. I love every single story I pick up by her.

This one had a completely different kind of story line, it was a quick read and the adventures with Mel never really let up throughout. It was fun watching her drop everything to fly to Spain to house sit for her aunt and she actually can’t wait to visit her aunts little house on the beach.
The adventures start during her plane ride and just kept going.

I love fast moving quick reads and then add in a hot spanish guy and a grumpy neighbor and a whole boatload of chores she wasn’t expecting with Christmas fast approaching this turned out to be an awesome story, and I wondered all the way through how this book got its name and now I know.

I highly recommend this and any book by this author. She is an absolute favorite and I can’t wait to dig into Christmas Kiss #3

Loved it!!

This sweet book is book 3 out of 4 in the in Christmas Kiss series. I love Christmas stories. I get all the warm and fuzzies. In this story, Billie left her small Podunk town for the Big Apple, hoping that the love and light of her life, Leroy, would follow her….long story short…he didn’t. Big egos and load of pride get in the way of finding their happily ever after right then and there.
Five years later, Billie is home to help out her family. She does make the time to meet up with old friends and she runs into Leroy..and discovers that there was a reason behind him not taking the trip East with her.
I love this book. This entire series has been very sweet, sappy and overall adorable. You can easily read this book in one sitting and not lose pace with the characters, stories or details. Recommended for romance novel lovers and those who love seasonal reads.

This author writes a story that has readers hooked from page one. While it’s on the shorter side I never felt it was lacking anything and it’s filled with sweet moments and entertainment. 5 out of 5 stars
A Tangy Christmas kiss is the second book in this series written by Allyson Abbott. Is a wonderful romantic holiday book. It weaves a story that has you laughing and feeling the magic and romance in others through the holidays. It also shows the importance of family and what you would do for family. The characters are amazing…. The plot is great and I love the description and details this author puts into her story/stories. They feel so believable that I had a hard time putting this book down.
Mel, gets a call from her mother requesting, that she flies to Spain to house sit for her aunt. To be honest, she’s glad for a change of scenery after recent turn of events with her latest boyfriend, and she is looking forward to Christmas in the sun, planning to spend many days on the beach. Let the fun begin.
The journey takes forever due to misunderstanding of the different timelines and consequently Mel misses her ‘handover’ of tasks and a lift from her aunt. Jetlag, lack of the Spanish language and having no knowledge of geography of Spain, all she has is her aunt’s address, a headache and an overwhelming urge to sleep.
While on her flight she meets an extremely sexy Spanish passenger who is seated next to her on her flight. He takes her under his wing to make sure she arrives safely and stays to help her out, even though he only speaks Spanish, so Mel has no idea what he is talking about. But hey, you can’t turn away a great looking man in your hour of need!
As things turn bad to worse, she now doubles up on handsome hero’s, as her aunt’s friendly (extremely gorgeous and English speaking) neighbor, decides that it is he, who should be helping, not the interloper from the airplane.
Mel should have question why her mother couldn’t go? Why her mother is never there when she calls? And why her aunts needs a house-sitter for a bungalow on the beach?
You need to read this awesome story and find out what happens to Mel and her men. Who will she pick can she even decide?

A Prickly Christmas Kiss, by Allyson R. Abbott, is a seasonal treat for the holiday season. The character names, location and theme truly give a feel for the holiday season. From the beginning, the author has provided a story that just blankets you with the pages as you read. From the soul(s) that are disenchanted, to the paths that feel as if fate is pushing forward, and just the magical time of year – it all adds together to give this story just the perfect mix of warmth and seasonal joy. The addition of some comedic moments throughout gave just enough to the story not to feel over done. I absolutely adored ELF’s character and her personality, she really made this story fun, as well as, all the supporting characters.

A Prickly Christmas Kiss By Allyson Abbott is an amazingly wonderful Christmas Romance short story that I absolutely loved. I couldn’t put it down once I started. It’s very heart warming story about Emma aka Elf. Instead of Elf dealing with her family and the questions she knows they will ask, she decides to spend two weeks in a cabin with her best friend. When her friend can’t come what will Elf do? Will she stay or leave? Will she be able to learn to build a fire and survive the storm? Elf has some company, a stray cat has decided to keep her company. When the local vet stops by what happens? Can Elf stay away from him? There is definitely attraction. Find out what happens with Elf. I highly recommend reading this book. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

For me this has to have been the sweetest story out of them all so far. Small town romance gone wrong. It had everything you could want out of this type of book. Billie and Leroy are exactly how I imagine small town characters to be.
Like the others, this book was an easy read, that was perfect to just get lost in for a few hours. Another enjoyable story.

This was such an enjoyable Christmas novel. I loved the setting for the story and it didn’t take me long at all to be completely swept up in Mel’s story. I really liked her character, she was a genuinely nice person and if it anything could happen to anyone then it definitely happened for her. There were some great laugh out loud moments and some very sweet romantic times too involving a sexy Spanish man! I loved the language barrier issues between them – some were quite funny!
This is definitely a heart-warming Christmas read – I have read work by this author previously and she never fails to entertain me with her wonderful story telling skills. I absolutely recommend this story for a nice read on a cold winter’s night!

I give A Pink Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott, 4 stars.

Billie left her small town in the middle of nowhere to get out into the real world of New York City. She was in love, but the big city was calling to her. Besides, if he really loves her, he’ll follow her, right? Five years later, she has barely gotten anywhere in her career and she hasn’t heard from him since she moved. When circumstances have her moving back home, she knows it is the right choice. But what about him? Is he with someone else? Will it break her heart if he is? Or is there hope?

This is something unlike what I normally see in romances. First of all, she is a mechanic. No girly girl here. I love that! Also, a book being about two people, you really don’t see too much of Leroy. He actually shows up very little. I like that because it’s different. This is totally about Billie and her struggles. But Leroy is not ignored either, we do learn his side too. The other people in this book also help to make this a great story too. Oh and the pink in the title? Well, you’ll have to read it to find out.

A fun, fairly short, clean Christmas romance, I highly recommend reading this book.

After moving back and taking over her father’s shop Billie and Leroys have a few run in and secrets start to come out as to why Leroy didn’t leave with Billie. This story is a second chance romance and I loved Billies friend Lucy also she added a nice spin to Billies personality. I have to admit the title of this is odd and I had to wonder how in the world it would be relevant. Mel is having some seriously bad luck this holiday! One thing after another going wrong, a traveler’s worst nightmare, followed by a bunch of mishaps and surprises. But the shining light in it all is the budding romance between her and a completely non English-speaking sweet man. Well, there are two men there to help her out and it’s tough for her, confused and floundering in a strange country at Christmas. But the end is so holiday happy, over the top, happy ever after. Full of all things Christmas joy.

A great read about not meeting expectations. Mel would do anything for her mother. But when he mother asks her to go to Spain for her aunt completely out of the blue, she wonders if she’s taken it too far. After a frantic journey, she is helped by a plane passenger Lucas. But when a house full of farm animals awaits her, has she taken on too much?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Mel trying to do her best despite everything or Lucas kind nature but standing up for himself or Domingo’s stubborn side but kind underneath.
I loved the use of the Spanish language into the novel which was a brillaint touch to add to the culture and feel of the narrative. Also this with the food by Lucas as display of Spanish culture full of flavour was a lovely touch.
I also loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the Christmas tree in the airport or the sense of nature with the orchard with colours and scents and freshness as if you were there too. The only issue I would raise is that there was sometimes time jumps in the narrative that were hard to follow and it seemed slow to start. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

The story A Pink Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott is a sweet holiday romance book that I loved reading. It hooked me in from the very beginning and I was hoping that the characters would find a happy ending. It is set in a small town. Billie left town five years ago. She wanted to spread her wings. New York City is where she settled. One thing that didn’t go right is that the man she loved never followed her. Now she is back in her hometown to help her family and the sting of why he never contacted her is still there. What will happen when Billie and Leroy meet again? Do they still have feelings for each other? What does the future hold for them? Will these two find themselves together once again? Read this book to find out. I also enjoyed reading about the additional characters, the part they play in the story and their interactions with Billie. There are heartwarming scenes included in this story. I liked that family is important to Billie. Will the magic of Christmas play any part in bringing them back together? Don’t miss out on reading a wonderful story about coming home and finding out if two people’s love for each other survived the passage of time. Highly recommended.

This book was beyond sweet. I love Christmas books. They give me all the warm, fuzzy feelings that make everything seem right in the world. This is book 2 in a four book series by this author. Our main gal, Mel, flies to Spain to house sit for her Aunt at her mom’s request. She is beyond confused as to why her own mother cannot do this, but since she plans on spending her days relaxing on the beach, she goes without hesitation.
After a very funny, series of not so unfortunate events, Mel finds herself at the mercy of the very sexy, non-English speaking Spanish stranger. Once she finally gets to her Aunt’s house, nothing is how she remembers it. Everything has changed and she has a whole lot that she needs to take care of. So much for lounging away her Christmas holiday on the beach.
This is such a sweet holiday romance novel. You can read it all in one sitting. I know I did. This author does such a great job creating a book where the story is vivid and the characters are lovable and unique. Easily a 4 star book.

A Tangy Christmas Kiss is the second book in the Christmas Kiss series by Allyson R. Abbott. This is the story of Mel who is sent to Spain to take care of her aunt’s home during the holidays. On her trip, she meets Lucas. The two have an instant connection despite a major language barrier. On her house sitting Mel discovers that there is much she does not know about her aunt.
This is a sweet, romantic read. I enjoyed that it was a quick read and with an uplifting story. The characters are sweet and there is a bit of innocence to them. The story just flows and I didn’t want to put it down. I had to find out if everything worked out for Mel. I also enjoyed the importance of family and how they all played a part in the story. I look forward to reading more in the series.

A Tangy Christmas Kiss is the 2nd in the four book series by Allyson R. Abbott. While I have read the first book, they are unrelated stories and can be read as a standalone. The book is about Melanie (Mel) and her crazy Christmas adventure. She gets a sudden, urgent request from her mother to go to Spain to take care of her aunt, after a surgery. Upon arriving at the airport, she gets some bad news, and has a big decisions to make. She takes the plunge and boards the plane anyway, and thus begins a series of awkward situations. She soon finds herself in a country she cant speak the language, and is in way over her head. She must rely on two strangers to get her through the next couple of weeks.
I had a hard time figuring out where the book was going, as there is so much unknown until the very end. Typically I like a good mystery romance, but I wasn’t as hooked on this book as I was book 1. It is a cute story and there are some funny parts. I liked seeing what became of Mel and her two Spanish men. Overall it was still a good book, and I will continue the series to see if book 3 wins me back.

This book is a fun and lovable holiday romance about a woman trying to help out her family. It isn’t as straight forward as it should be and hilarity soon follows.
I really enjoyed this book because it was one of those stories that you could easily just lose yourself in for a few hours. You can turn off reality and just enjoy a well written and entertaining story.
The main character Mel was delightful to read about. She takes everything in her stride – even though everything is going wrong. I liked how, despite it being an odd request, she still helps out her family.
This was a great book and a good addition to the series.

A Tangy Christmas Kiss (Christmas Kiss Series Book #2) by Allyson R. Abbott – Review by Angela Hayes

A Tangy Christmas KissA Tangy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott

A Tangy Christmas Kiss is the second book in the Christmas Kiss series by Allyson R. Abbott. It is a sweet holiday romance that confirms that anything that can go wrong- will! There is hilarity, funny antics, language barriers, challenges, romance, and endearing characters. There was a lot more to this story than it may seem from first appearances. Melanie (Mel) had me intrigued right from the first page, as I followed her on her story. From the moment she gets the call from her mother asking her to look after her aunts’ home while her aunt is in hospital- everything that could go wrong certainly does. Her promise to her mother takes her on a mad-cap journey that throws her right out of her comfort zone, leaving her feeling a little lost and vulnerable. But what happens when a sexy stranger comes to her aid? Yes, there might be a serious language barrier, but he seems to want to help her non-the-less. Will she be desperate enough to let a complete stranger help her? What happens when he sees her to her destination? Mel is unprepared for everything that’s about to happen, once she arrives at her aunts. What will the future hold? All this and more can be discovered be reading this delightful story…
Ms. Abbott has such a wonderfully descriptive, warm, and inviting style to her writing. Her stories always draw me in and keep me engaged the whole way through. They are so easy to read and always leave feeling good- as this story did.
This may be a story set around Christmas and the holidays, but it is a lovely story that deserves to be read, and enjoyed, at any time of the year!

Thank you yet again, Ms. Abbott!!
