Stout of My League (Love on Tap Series) by Sylvie Stewart – Review by Angela Shirley

Stout of My League (Love on Tap #4)Stout of My League by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lynn is the youngest of the Brookes clan with that her brothers have always protected her even if she does not want it or need it but when it comes to boyfriends it is taken up a notch. So when at her summer job and she is involved in an emergency and a hunky helper jumps in she wonders if this is a chance meeting or will see him around the ball park again.

Joey has just transferred to the Arrows not sure if he will fit in but when he meets Lynn he has this instant attraction to her but he is unsure if she will like him for him, so when Joey and his friends are drinking in the Blue Bigfoot brewery he sees her and then he has to get her onside.

Joey and Lynn’s relationship is going great but when Joey steps over the boundaries she is determined to have a boyfriend who is an equal and not a protector, can they overcome the families history and Can Lynn be in the relationship with the man she loves.

I love this series and this book does not disappoint with a great twist at the end. This book can be read as a standalone story as the author does fill in details along the way but to honest you will get the whole feel of the Brookes if you read each of the books. I love the secondary characters and I wished Duke was is this story abit more as he is such a quirky guy and a brilliant character.

The chemistry with Joey and Lynn was off the page and this is just a lovely relationship and probably my favourite story so far. The story was well written as always and the new characters were brilliantly and added to the story, I can’t wait to see if there is another book in this series.

Make Me Want to Love You (Love in Emerald Creek) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Angela Shirley

Make Me Want To Love You: Love in Emerald CreekMake Me Want To Love You: Love in Emerald Creek by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shayna is struggling with life, leaving her abusive ex was only the first hurdle but moving to a small town well that is another kind of strength she will need to overcome the gossip and the stories. So, when her best friend’s BFF comes back into to town as helps her can she hold her feelings for him back as she struggles with life or does she deserve happiness and help.

Burke has decided to come back home, coming back is always hard but when he sees Shayna his perspective changes somewhat. He is fascinated with her and wants to help and be there for her through the tough times ahead, but the strength of this woman is more appealing to him, and he wants to see where this chemistry between them will go but there’s one problem, Shayna herself he must convince her that he is serious and wants to see where this leads.

I love this story, the way the story weaves through the relationship with these two characters is beautiful to read. I love a book where the main male character although a Alpha male has a vulnerable side and shows this vulnerability is lovely to read. Shayna character has been through so much but her willing to restart and in the end take a chance with Burke was brilliant.

The chemistry was off the chart and although this book was a slow burn this just added to the overall story experience. The secondary characters also added to the movement of the story which had me racing through to the end to see what happened in the end. Although this is the second book in the series you can read this as a standalone story.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

The Strategist (WaterFyre Rising Book 5) by Nadia Han – Review by Angela Shirley

The Strategist (WaterFyre Rising, #5)The Strategist by Nadia Han
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Arrow Holt is a retired Navy Seal and is a part of the billionaire set but he has worked hard to get where he is. His childhood was not good and his escape into the Navy gave him a sense of purpose and instant family but the things he has seen has left a big mark on his life.
So, when he meets her, he has this overwhelming protection of her when Vivian gets into some trouble, but will she let him help her and can the attraction he feels be put aside.

Vivian has been through the ringer in life and does not trust very easily, when Arrow becomes part of her life, she at first tries hard to reject his advances but there is just something about him that she wants to trust. Vivian has spent her whole life being just her can she let this man into her world and open her heart to him.

This is the fifth book in the series and with every book I say it’s my favourite and this book does not disappoint. As always, the characters are rich and well developed with their backgrounds that you fall straight in love with them along the way. Although this is part of a series you can read as a standalone story but there is a story arc which runs through the books, but I feel this would not distract from the story.

Arrow has always been one of those characters mentioned in the other stories that I was intrigued to know his story and here it is, this character is an alpha male, but you see the vulnerable side to him which is always great to read in such alpha characters. Vivian was the perfect equal to him as she was fiercely independent and had a fire inside her which was just brilliant to read and see in her character.

The story is full of twist and turns and I was fully engaged with the story. Having these two characters the chemistry was off the page and I enjoyed as previously said the vulnerability they were prepared to show to each, and the slow burn of the trust and relationship had me on the edge of my seat.

Another great addition to the series and can’t wait to read more by this great author.

Master Oradea (Masters of the Consulate Book 10) by Sylvia Black – Review by Angela Shirley

Master Oradea (Masters of the Consulate #10)Master Oradea by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Master Oradea is on a mission to locate the rogue vampire who is trying to uncover the secrets of the consulate but on his travels the pureblood vampire gets caught up with a fiery character who intrigues him but also, he needs to protect her, but he realised she does not need defending too much. So, as they are weaving through the crossfire something is discovered and if this secret of the stones they must try and keep this away from the rogue elements, but the battle lines are drawn, and The Consulate are ready for the battle.

This is the tenth book in this series and as always follows another Master in the Consulate, this adds the next instalment to the series and drives the story deeper into trying to uncover the rogue elements. These books can be read separately but there is a arch story which weaves through each book, and I recommended reading them in order.

I can’t wait for the next instalment in this series.

Healing Hearts: Gene & Amanda’s Story (The Echo Series) by C.R. Alam – Review by Angela Shirley

Healing Hearts (Echo #0.5)Healing Hearts by C.R. Alam
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gene Rowland is starting to become deluded as an ER doctor and wants to try and rekindled his love for medicine so when he decides to move back to his hometown and becomes the town’s doctor, but he is not prepared for the home welcome he receives or the gossip which relates to the new friendship he has made but are the rumours true?

Amanda Garner is the town’s baker but when she unexpectantly swerved and hit a tree she thought she was dreaming when the hunky doctor appears from nowhere it seemed, but as she starts to come around, she knows exactly who he is. Not wanting to leave her Gene insists that he stay with her just in case she has a concussion but as their friendship blossoms, so do the feelings she has repressed for years regarding Gene. Can she play it cool enough for the gossip to die down or will she throw caution to the wind and go for it.

This is a lovely romantic story regarding two recurring characters in this series and is lovely to see how they got together in the first instance. As all the characters in the Echo Hearts Series they are brilliantly developed and wonderful characters that you just wish were part of your friendship group.
There is a great amount of Chemistry and passion between these characters and its great to see the story unfold, with the added twists and turns from other influences it is a great story and a great addition to the series.

4 R’s: Roped, Risked, Rescued, Romanced (4 R’s Series) by Julie Castle – Review by Angela Shirley

4 R's: Roped, Rescued, Risked, Romanced4 R’s: Roped, Rescued, Risked, Romanced by Julie Castle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 R’s is a compilation of four full stories with each having a strong woman and an alpha man who you will just delve into and have a selection of new book boyfriends to choose from.

Roped

So as she lays down the rules of her help there is something bubbling under the surface with them. Can she help him and can this chemistry they feel between them be good or blow up in their faces?

Rescued

Thinking she could escape to her families cabin but once she arrives she finds Jake there doing a job for her father. Risked

When things don’t quite go to plan and Marks thinks she has something to do with it, can they both trust each other enough to get to the bottom of it all and leave their feelings at the door at least for now.

Romanced
Candy is back at her high school reunion and wonders why the life she is there until in walks Greg Morris. As they getting chatting is is obvious that he needs her to help him out with his job but Greg creates a offer she can not refuse or a situation she can not remove herself from. So when it comes out that they are engaged (although fake) her world is turned upside down. from nasty interactions with his mom and not wanting to be in this situation, with spending this time with Greg their feelings are becoming more the enemies.

This is the first books I have read by this author and they are wonderful and well written, just enough edge to keep you engaged to the end.

I love how each of the female characters are strong, accomplished and strives to help on each story and not ashamed to show this side to anyone. The male leaders although strong alphas in there own right are a wonderful yang to the female characters and add a layer with the enemies to lovers frustration they have with each and the interactions are just brilliant.

I can’t wait to read more by this author and more in this series.

The Better Man (A Silver Buckle Romance Series) by Laurie Lewis – Review by Angela Shirley

The Better Man (Silver Buckle Brides, #2)The Better Man by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Laramee is on her way back home after a frantic call from her mother, after leaving the ranch four years ago she is nervous about coming back and confronting her father, but she was not accepting the news when she arrived back. Lost in her world she strives to not let the only things she can slip from her fingers the ranch. When arriving she meets Jamie who’s business is real estate after being prickly initially they discover they have more in common than first thought.

Jamie is on his way to look at a ranch but first he was having some R and R in The Alpine a Ski resort but when he wonders into the reception area and sees his ex- fiancée getting ready to marry someone else all the air leaves his body, he rushes into the bakery onsite to get refreshments when he meets a lady and strikes up a conversation, unbeknown to him they will meet later and a lot less friendlier.

So when Jamie meets Laramee again at the Ranch things go decidedly a rye, Laramee wants him gone but he was instructed by her father so he is obliged to carry on with the job in hand but over the time of working together they see that they are so different after all.

This is a lovely story of family entanglements and expectations which are put on ourselves or others. The story weaves along and slow draws out the reasons that both of them have baggage and that they can just be friends rather than enemies in the long run that Jamie is only trying to help and somewhere along the way they become more.

With the secondary characters enhancing the story it is a lovely nice easy read, with characters who compliment each other and a clean story. I would love the read the next instalment in this series.

Mood Swings and Hockey Flings (Hot Flash Hookups Series) by Sylvie Stewart and Marika Ray – Review by Angela Shirley

Mood Swings and Hockey Flings (Hot Flash Hookups #2)Mood Swings and Hockey Flings by Marika Ray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kaitlyn is a top range hockey agent although being a woman in a mans world can be tough she has a reputation of a killer in the boardroom. Now she is representing young blood in the team and is damn good at it, although no-one ten years ago told her she would have to be a babysitter and agent all in one, but now she has her own agency and can pick and choose who she wants, until a friend asks her for a favour and in steps Bennet Banks her sworn enemy.

Can she put the past behind her to help him extend his contract and be a better person?

Ben “Bennett” Banks has lived to annoy Kaitlyn seen that day they meet ten years ago in the airport, she seemed okay with him then but once she knew who he was it has been daggers and teeth when ever they meet, but when he falls out with his agent just before a crucial extension of his contract no-one will touch him accept Kaitlyn. But can he keep his feelings for her under wraps as she has made it plain she hates him and is only doing this as a favour and to stick it to her old boss.

So, when something is released in the press at a critical time can Kaitlyn believe in Bennett or will she let him loose?

I love this calibration, the writing is brilliant and the characters are so real you wish they were your friends. This is the second book in this series but can easily be read as a stand alone novel but I recommend you read the first one as it is just as good.

Kaitlyn’s character is fiery and strong but as always you get to see the venerable side of her and that not everything is rosy in the garden. Ben’s character is lovely the rough alpha male on the ice but behind the scenes is a man who is misunderstood, caring and humble which makes these two characters just brilliant for each other.

The secondary characters as always are full of depth and life and just add to this wonderfully developed book, with you wanting to know the more about them in the next book. I hope Niko Drugov is our next mean hockey player to find love as it would be great for him and Chole to have some sparks in their future.

Can’t wait for the next instalment going forward.

As her recovery continues he starts to see a difference in his daughter Katie and within his self, hoping that something can happen with Lexie and will be able to mend a broken heart and live a life of love again.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a beautiful read. The story was lovely and uplifting with the interactions between the main characters brilliant and will put together. I also loved the interaction between Lexie and Katie and watching the little girl open up and blossom was a lovely thing to read.

The secondary characters added to the story and the twist in the end was a lovely thing to put the icing on the cake and wrap the story up nicely. Showing the vulnerable side to Jake was interesting I always love a softie at heart. I do hope some of the characters get a book, it would be especially nice to see Sean get his happy ever after.

I can’t wait to read more in the future.

Finders Keepers, Cowboy (Match Made in Montana Series) by Rachelle Paige Campbell – Review by Angela Shirley

Finders Keepers, Cowboy (Match Made in Montana #1)Finders Keepers, Cowboy by Rachelle Paige Campbell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Meg is in a funk, her shop is not really doing that well and she is determined not to give up just yet. Until one day her 80 year old neighbour and friend asks her to help him clear out the old barn where he has tinkered for years, what could go wrong? Meg is in the process when her enemy Hank’s grandson decides to dampen her excitement by telling her to leave, but Hank is more experience and sees a spark that neither one of them are ready for.

Ryan has lived on the ranch most of his life and enjoys the hard work it needs to run, after selling off the cattle he has turned it into a tourism trap and is happy what is happening, although there is always a bane in his life. Why does his grandfather insist that Megan the neighbour from next-door comes over, see never shuts up and is always in his way but when his grandfather decides to clean out his converted barn but only lets Meg in which frustrates him.

Although they are frenemies something changes between them and the feelings which are blossoming between can they bloom or do they need to part ways forever?

This is the first book I have read by this author and I found it well written and the characters brilliantly developed, although at times the story felt a little clunky it did not detract anything away from the story.

I loved the character of Megan she was sweet and enjoyed life with a spring in her step and she was I think the brilliant heroine to Ryan’s rather grumpy, melancholic character who needed some lighter energy to enter in to his life. The story was full of light and a lovely read with some interesting secondary characters. Although I loved the character of Hank, the cankerous old man with the heart of an angel was brilliant to read and see him weaving his web around the two of them to understand that one day they would be great for each other.

I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series.

The Closer (The Hustlers Trilogy) by Rowan Rossler – Review by Angela Shirley

The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance (The Hustlers Series Book 3)The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

June and Dallas were in stoppable as a duo but when there relationship broke down she swore she would not want anything Dallas has to offer, until now. June’s business is failing and when her investor pulls the plug there is only really one place to go, Dallas.

Although people around town talk about him can I put my feelings aside to help my business or will the clauses he puts in place be for the business or me.

Dallas is thrilled that June has come back into his life, but can he be the knight she requires or will the past be too much for her to forgive. Setting June up with his friend to invest is the best scenario but does she have the feelings I buried ten years ago when she left.

This is the third book in this series and can be read as a stand alone story. Like the others this is full of twists and turns which is a slow burn at the beginning but becomes epic by the end and will have you scrambling to finish to see what happens. The character of June was brilliant and sassy, full of what she wanted and was not afraid to go after it. Dallas is a fiery Alpha make character which with June make an explosive couple. The secondary characters add an air of twist which is great to read.

I can’t wait to read books for this author.

Before You Say I Do by Marina Hanna – Review by Angela Shirley

Before You Say I DoBefore You Say I Do by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Emma is working her way to becoming a Sommelier but with school, work and an Ex- boyfriend she would rather forget she has no time for a relationship. Hook ups are fine but need to leave by the morning as she does not want to get her heart broken again, but when a handsome, dashing man walks into the bar she may have to rethink her whole dating life.

Liam is a player, he gives them a night and then by the end of it they need to leave. His notion on marriage and relationships is that they are not worth the energy as his only reference is his parents marriage which is non-existent, but when he meets Emma she crawls under his skin and he is doing couplie things he would not imagine him doing. So when he offers Emma an agreement can both of them come away with their hearts in tacked, you will have to read to find out.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was brilliant flowing story. Emma was just the right amount of sass and wanting to be a wine waiter was a refreshing change to the normal career paths people go down. Liam is a confident, powerful man but in his interactions with Emma they are soft and kind, showing at times his vulnerability in his character.

The story is well developed and fast paced and the chemistry between the two characters is brilliant, the slow burn of the relationship makes it more appealing to keep reading to see if in the end their is a happy ending for the two of them. I could have done some serious damage to her ex-boyfriend but it all works out in the end lol.

Can’t wait to read more books from this author in the future.

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series) by Alicia Street – Review by Angela Shirley

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series Book 9)Make Me Burn by Alicia Street
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Logan has returned home after years of being away for his friends wedding but in the back of his mind there is the distraction of his best friends sister who over the years wondered what had happened to her. With his relationship with his best friend in tatters, she has always been the one to fight his corner but will that still be the case.

Jinx is living her best life, co-owning her own shop, creating her beautiful jewellery and just being unapologetic in life, so when a person from her past comes back can she put all the issues aside and go against her family to find the love that has always been there but can they overcome the obstacles.

This was a lovely story with the main characters both having there problems that they are overcoming and are drawn to each other in the end. I love the way Jinx was completely driven to prove Logan innocent within the family and that the blossoming relationship was still there all those years apart.

Although this is the ninth book in this series they can all be read as stand alone stories are brilliantly as a collective or individual stories. I can wait to read the next instalment and more books by this author in the future.

Managing Mischief (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn – Review by Angela Shirley

Managing Mischief (Shattered Embrace #2)Managing Mischief by Alyndra Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When a rival is threatening to ruin everything in Zachary’s life what can he do to stop this happening.

Ashton is living her best life, Zach has showed her that the lifestyle can be fun again and not intrusive but when Ashton’s dream job is mentioned to her, can she live the decision she needs to make?

Zachary is back enjoying life, with Ashton now his she has opened up the world of Dom/Sub and made it fresh and enjoyable again but when one of his rivals threatens this fragile relationship he has to fight dirty in order to win

This is the second book in this series but although it can be read as a stand alone story I would read the first one to give you a better insight into the relationship and how this couple got here. This second book shows more of the venerability and insight into both worlds of the main characters and is brilliant to read.

Zach has always been a strong alpha character but when he is rocked to his core it was lovely to see the softer side to him and what he was prepared to do. Ashton although a Sub her sassy side is always great to read and delve into more as the story goes on.

The twists and turns within the story adds another layer and always the secondary characters are a dream to read an only enhances the story even more.

Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Give Us Bad Boys & Billionaires by L.M. Mountford – Review by Angela Shirley

Give Us Bad Boys and BillionairesGive Us Bad Boys and Billionaires by L.M. Mountford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Omg lord give me a fan to cool myself down.

This is a selection of novellas which have been brought together in this book to tease your senses with the delectable men and woman to bring most fantasies to life. The book creates worlds which you can delve into and if you don’t have any book boyfriends after this then I will be disappointed in you.

Each story offers a wild ride, with brilliantly developed characters and a feeling of a full novel not just a toe dipping novella. There are all sorts of fantasies from Daddy, step brother, BDSM etc, some of my favourites were My Bad Boy Protector, Submitting to my Billionaire Bosshole to mention a few.

My Bad Boy Protector

Sophie is the Mafia Princess and has come to understand the workings of the Family, but when a new bodyguard steps in she feels the chemistry and wants to pursue this further, He is like no other man she has seen but will there secret get out and all hell would break loose.

Submitting to my Billionaire Bosshole

This is a great mix of genres and are easy to read and will have you wanting more.

Fearless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Angela Shirley

Fearless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #5)Fearless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

James Bennett is ready for the next stage of his life, all ready to propose to Samantha but when a bombshell hits he is completely devastated. Picking himself back up he decides to concentrate on his Dad and the farm but in walks Sara and her son and all bets are off.

Sara is a traveling nurse, she enjoys the different locations and moving around. As her son is growing older its harder to keep moving as he makes friends along the way, although she has her secrets caring for Roy Bennett is one of the best jobs she has had but failing for James Bennett was not on the cards.

Can James convince her to stay?

I love this series although I thought Becky and Glen’s book was my favourite it has been trumped by this one. James has always been the silent hero in the background and then you thought he found his forever with Samantha you always will him a happy ever after.

All the stories have a running theme of the family and the farm but each can be read as stand alone books, although I recommend reading them all as they are brilliant. This story was just a lovely enjoyable read, as I said before James has always been the silent hero in the family to me and seeing his interactions with Noah, Sara’s son were just lovely to read.

Sara although was strong had a vulnerable side which came out and James’s character treated her with understanding and love. I love the whole Bennett squad and you just want to be a part of the family every time I read this great series.

I hope there is more books in this series following them as catch ups in there lives, don’t stripe me of the Bennetts please.

Critical Care (Chase Care Series Book 6) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Angela Shirley

Critical Care (Chase Care Book 6)Critical Care by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tim Holland was assigned to look after his colleagues daughter but he was not accepting to met a sassy nurse, once he returns back to DC he wants to keep the relationship going but it is always hard with a long distance relationship.

Willow has finally finished her travelling nurses contract and back in DC and after the conversations with Tim the relationship seems to be moving fast, although they are still busy they find time for each other. When an opportunity comes up for Willow to go to San Diego Tim encourages her to take it as part of her career advancement.

Tim discovers as part of his job a mystery with patients dying unexpectantly and as he and the rest of Chase investigate lives become threatened and a major illness seems like it will derail Chase care and Security.

This is the sixth book in this series and omg it is just as thrilling as the other books I have read in this series. Tim has cropped up in the other books and have always wondered his story and voila he it is. Willow is a great character for Tim as she is full of sass and is not to afraid to give her opinion which a refreshing avenue in the story.

The story opens up the pharmaceutical industry as what could happen with short stock and supply and demand which is just as riveting as the story itself. The twists and turns in the story had me gripped and reading well into the night to finish it.

I enjoyed the interaction as always of the secondary characters who are becoming like fiends as I read more of the stories related to Critical Care. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story (A Better Man, Book 1) by Amy Q. Barker – Review by Angela Shirley

Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story (A Better Man Book 1)Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story by Amy Q. Barker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bailey is a widow with two teenager daughters, what time do I have for Life let alone a social life but one day will change the whole future.

Bailey is a VP in Havelin and is good at her job but when she has to take a trip to sort out a problem at the factory in St Louis she is surprised at who she is sitting next to.

Fox has had his ups and down, now the CEO of Havelin he is settled and the boys since his divorce, but his luck changes when he is seated next Bailey Grant one of his VP’s and a woman he has admired from a far. As the conversation flows and the chemistry is discovered between the two of them, Fox braves to ask her out which she accepts.

Over the weeks and months the relationship grows and gets stronger with feelings of love but when it comes to the crunch can they both overcome there histories and the stares of the company they will get.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a lovely romance novel about two people having bad histories to then finding the one person they should be with. Straight from the first chapter you get to see in the world of Bailey and fall in love with her instantly. I loved the way that the book had both POV’s but you had a fair few chapters in that persons mind which I think in better than swapping each page it sometimes gives you whiplash.

The character of Fox was brilliant just enough sweetness with the punch of being a strong alpha but not too much. The whole story is just a feel good story and with the secondary characters makes this book a great read. His interaction with his sons is warm and shows he is a great father, also the care he takes with understanding Bailey’s point of views is lovely to read.

I can’t wait to read more from this brilliant author.

Out of Bounds (Game Time Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Angela Shirley

Out of BoundsOut of Bounds by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Piper is sitting in the bar trying to drink away her problems but why do these college boys keep trying to chat her up, so it becomes a game to get rid of them until Charlie her ex decides she is destine to be his again. After some uncomfortable back and forth conversations she hears low timbre voice behind her which saves her from her ex.

Wyatt “Bax” Baxter has been watching the firecracker all night batting away the boys until he sees that this one is different and comes to her rescue. Upon chatting and find out her name she proceeds to escort her to her car, but things get heated up pretty quick and when she leaves without giving him her number, he becomes obsessed with finding her.

Piper had her one night with the star football player but as she interacts more with him the feelings are coming to the surface although she swore off men, Wyatt is starting to inject faith in her that not men are bad.

Can Wyatt convince Piper he is nothing like her ex and hopefully have his forever woman?

This is not the first book I have read by this author and is not going to be last, you know when you pick up a Tam DeRudder Jackson book that the writing and character are well written and developed and this is brilliant.

Piper’s character is trying to shield her heart but as you read through her story you she that even with money you can be just as miserable and lost in life. Although when she meets Wyatt from the first interaction you are willing her to trust her instincts and go out with the character. Wyatt although is an alpha male character you get to see his vulnerable side and kind, charming character with each interaction the two of them have in the story.

I love the secondary characters and am hoping with get Chessly and Finns story as there is something bubbling and would make a great book to read. Can wait to read more.

The Scottish Play (Polyam Fam Series) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Angela Shirley

The Scottish Play (PolyAm Fam Book 1)The Scottish Play by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Molly is just finishing her Master of Fine Arts degree and as part of that she has to written, produce and direct a play. While her search for the leading man has not gone to plan her girlfriends brother suggests an employee at the University who may be perfect for the role.

When Lachlan auditions for Molly she sees he is perfect for the role but takes a chance as he has no acting experience. As the rehearsals go on there is some flirting and attraction between them when Molly explains she is in a Polycule and this enhances there chemistry even more.

I love Phoebe’s writing and this is a new genre which needs more representation on and was a joy to read. Understanding the terms and relationships added a layer to the story and you uncover more about the people. This is definitely a story around Molly’s characters and what she wants from both partners in her relationships.

I can’t wait to read more books in this series and from Phoebe.

This story is full of suspense and romance which will have you engrossed from the first chapter. Janey characters although you find her start in life not to good is a perfect mirror to Mateo and you get to see of beautiful relationship blossom in the dark depths of the story.

The story is full of action and with the twist and turners makes this a compelling read and wanting to get to the bottom of the mysterious it unveils throughout. The story is well written, and the characters are full and rounded and I enjoyed reading this story. Although this is part of a series, I read this as a stand alone story but would love to go back and read the two books before.

Deceptively Yours (Titans of Chicago Series) by Anise Storm – Review by Angela Shirley

Deceptively Yours (Titans of Chicago, #1)Deceptively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Harper and Gabriel were in love and had plans to marry after graduating, but one fateful night throw there plans out of the water and Harper will forever regret her decisions.

After Harpers parents had died, she got rushed away to live with her uncle, but this was not a happy existence and when something hideous happened to her she had to break Gabriel’s heart and this has always played heavy on her heart, but with a cruel twist of fate she needs to protect him, but will he put aside the heartache and listen to her.

Gabriel is suddenly thrust into the old emotions that tear through when he sees Harper for the first time in nine years, all the hurt and anger comes flooding back but with that is also the lust and passion he felt all those years ago she was his soul mate, and can he put his feelings aside to help when she needs him. Although a lot has changed over the years can he forgive and forget.

This is a spin off series from The Titans in Manhattan and is just as addictive, the main alpha in Gabriel is wonderful to read and does show his vulnerable side within the story. Harper’s character is a great compliment to Gabriel’s and provides with just enough heartache and with what she has been through to feel sorry for the situation she landed in.

I must warn you there are trigger subjects within the story and you may find uncomfortable to read but this is part of Harper’s story to who she has become, and the writing is sympathetic to the story. I love the way Anise writes and this story has you emersed in a world of dark goings on and a thriller full of twists and turns. This has me engrossed till the end.

I can’t wait for the next books in this series.

Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn – Review by Angela Shirley

Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace #1)Hidden Mischief by Alyndra Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ashton is a strong, Independent woman when she is in her job is formidable but there is a secret which is buried deep down and she is nervous to let lose, her submissive side. Ashton believed she had “retired” from the scene but when she decides to give Shattered Embrace a chance but will see get what she wants and who she wants??

Zach in his day to day job is the CEO of a major company, but he has a secret where he and his brother co-own a BDSM Club. Memberships are hard to come by and have a vigorous process until one application peaks his interest, so when he discovers its the new consultant they have hired he decides to give into the obvious chemistry they have but is she really the submissive he wants and requires?

This is the first book I have read by this author and lets say it won’t be the last. I loved the character of Ashton, all strong and determined in her day job but knows what she wants and is ready to take it if needs be. When you add into the mix of Zach’s character the chemistry just explodes off the page.

The way the story weaves and slowly opens up Ashton’s story is brilliant and the at time soft approach of Zach is beautiful to read. The secondary characters also add another layer to the story and hoping that some of them get there stories in the future.

Thank you for adding another book boyfriend to my list and hope to read more of the wonderful group of people in the future.

Tenacious – Nick and Allie

When Nick starts to ware down Allie defences and involves himself with her, will they both be able to overcome there trust issues and find true happiness with each other.

OMG I love this author, give me mafia, hunky security guards and alpha males and you have the trifecta in this book. This book is split into two stories and they are amazing.

The chemistry between the two main characters in each book is off the charts and with the added drama, with twists and turns I challenge anyone to not to read this is a couple of sittings. I loved how each character is developed and although these men are dominant alphas they are loving and caring for there sub missive’s always.

Each story offers a different aspect to dynamic of the group and is a great read, with a lot of characters now introduced into this world hopefully there is more juicy stories to come and can’t wait for the next instalments.

Resisting Nature (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May – Review by Angela Shirley

Resisting NatureResisting Nature by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alexa has had some trouble in her past, walking away was the hardest thing she had to do. When now she has got her life back together a good education and is a Lawyer her moving to Montana was the best thing she could have done, until she meets Miles the towns ladies man she is drawn to him but does not understand why. So when he drops a bombshell on her, the first instinct is to run as far away from him as possible she has already a toxic relationship and survived she does not want to go down that path again.

Miles is a careful, self proclaimed ladies man but when Alexa comes into town he believes there is a chemistry and draw to her like he has never felt before. With his heritage he has always been seeking his fated he believes he has found it in Alexa, but when he shifts after one night together Alexa runs and does not look back, can he find her and convince her they are meant to be together in the end.

This is not the first book I have read by this author and this will definitely not the last. I’m not a big shifter genre reader but with this book it had me gripped from the beginning. Understanding the back story regarding Alexa was helpful and what she went through was heart-breaking but did put into prospective her life and reasons for certain reasons.

Miles as a character was brilliant, well rounded and great alpha male role and his characters care and charm made him a great character to get behind to get the girl. As I said although Shifter books aren’t my normal go to the story was a full bodied story with the Shifter element to Miles as a added bonus.

With the twists and turns in this story it will have you reading well into the night and hope you read the rest in this wonderful authors back catalogue you will not be disappointed.

CUTTER (Devils’ Spawn Daddies Series) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Angela Shirley

Cutter: Devils' Spawn DaddiesCutter: Devils’ Spawn Daddies by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Emily has worked hard to get were she is and now she requires a blast from her past to help her bring this horrendous MC down, but will Cutter help her and can she keep her attraction towards him under cover. She has always remembered the man who as a rookie she could not help but will she redeem herself now.

Cutter is always in the cross hairs of the law, they deem him trouble and he lives up to the reputation but he is unprepared when sitting in the integration room and in walks the woman of his dreams, but when she asks him for a favour all he can dream about is the reward he may get from her.

This is not the first book I read by this author and it definitely not the last, this story is more than just BDSM and role play but it gets into the two main characters flaws and quirks and how there past played a part in the future for them.

This story is full of twists and turns and is well written, with the elements of the chemistry which flies off the page and is great to watch the relationship development and explore the world of DD/LG which was interesting to read as I had not really read much in the way of this Dom/Sub role before.

I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to read more by this author in the future.

Group Hug by Ariella Talix – Review by Angela Shirley

Group HugGroup Hug by Ariella Talix
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Weston has hit a bump in the road, with his relationship gone and a house which he wants to keep as it holds memories of his grandad but as his financial position becomes more of a problem he is forced to seek a room mate. So when he adds to advert to the site he receives instantly two applications.

Callum is fresh out of school and just embarking on his career as a chef, this is the perfect place to stay but with his two new room mates, can he divert the attraction to both of them to concentrate on his career.

Petra has just come out of a horrendous situation, a bad relationship and her last room mate was not the best and arriving here to meet Weston and Callum she is loving the vibes and it helps they are both gorgeous. Having a safe place for her and her dog to stay is great but these two hunks are a added bonus.

This a lovely story and the chemistry is off the charts. I love all the characters although Weston is my favourite if I had to choose.

I thought the dynamic was brilliant and as it is written in all three point of views it is heart warming to read how there love for each grows with each chapter. With each character struggling with issues in there lives they become closer and start to become a family of sorts including the four legged family members too. The story is well written and the characters are well developed and draw you into the story.

I loved the this story and can’t wait to read more books by this wonderfully talented author.

Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate Book 9) by Sylvia Black – Review by Angela Shirley

Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate #9)Master Botosoni by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Master Botosoni has a lead to the rogue elements trying to bring down the Consulate but can he follow the rules and stay away from her or is the attraction too much for him to resist.

Catina has visions of where the shifter den is but when she is enlisted by the consulate to find the rogue Vampires and shifters but when her vision leads her into danger can she get out in time or is her fate sealed.

This is the ninth in the series and they just get better with each instalment. The chemistry between Catina and Master Botosoni is off the chart and I always love the loyalty these alpha man have to the charges they have, it is just brilliant to read. Although these are relative short stories they definitely pack a punch and leave you wanting more and more.

I can’t wait to see who the next Master’s story will be and get closer to them getting rid of the rogue elements.

Deja Brew All Over Again: A Runaway Bride Romance (Love on Tap Series) by Sylvie Stewart – Review by Angela Shirley

Deja Brew All Over Again: A Runaway Bride Romance (Love on Tap Book 3)Deja Brew All Over Again: A Runaway Bride Romance by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Miller has always classed his self as the screw up in the family, cruising through life not really knowing what he want other than working in Blue Bigfoot Brewery with his brothers. Although when his day in court ends up being more he thought it would be.

Maisy is putting herself in a tricky situation, not wanting to lose her brother but is marrying her friend the way to go, well probably not, in steps her knight in shining armour. Helping her out of a sticky situation Miller is someone she should not be attracted to but he is her bad boy. The chemistry is definitely there and they would be good together she just has to show Miller is good enough and although he maybe rough around the edges he is worth love.

OMG you have done it again. I loved Miller in the other two books the brother who always mess-up but the love the all show each other is wonderful to see. Although this is the three book in this series you can read this book as a stand alone but believe me if you loved this book the other two are just as magical and wonderful.

I have to say the character who stole the show was Bear, Maisy’s brother I cried laughing at this nine year old character with the one liners and verbal ramblings was brilliant, also the chemistry between the Miller and Maisy was off the page and I love the way Sylvie writes as you always feel part of the very big Brooks family.

I devoured this book in one sitting and can’t wait, fingers crossed for Denny’s wedding or Lynn to find that special someone or even Ginny.

If you have not read any of the series or Sylvie’s books then I recommend you do they are brilliantly written and all her characters are well developed and just lovely. Thank you and keep on writing lol.

Good Enough (The Deadman’s Tribe Series Book 1) by Nicole Craig – Review by Angela Shirley

Good Enough -- The Deadman's Tribe Book 1: A Protector Romance / Romantic SuspenseGood Enough — The Deadman’s Tribe Book 1: A Protector Romance / Romantic Suspense by Nicole Craig
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kai is directing a Hollywood film and requires a consultant but not just any a Navy Seal who can guide her through the processes she requires. She did not expect Waters every girls dream but she does not need the distraction and keeps things professional until things starts happening on the set with things going missing and when it is escalated to kidnap, she has to riley on Waters to protect and solve the mystery.

Waters is an enigma, a Navy Seal with no real identity when he said yes to the consulting gig he thought it would be plain sailing, but with his attraction to the director and odd things happening his protection side kicks in and tries to help resolve the issues until it becomes clear someone is after Kai and they are not going to stop until he stops them.

Oh my lord this book packs a punch, what more could a woman need but a sexy, hot Navy Seal with Alpha tendencies. Although this is the authors first book, I have to say it was well written and the characters where well developed and jumped off the page.

The story was full of twists and turns and drives you to keep reading to the very end, especially with the interactions between the characters is a joy to read. As it says in the blurb there are instances of violence which may cause triggers for some readers and be mindful of that when choosing but for me this story was full of grit and power and loved every word of it.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and met more of the Deadman’s Tribe.
