Chiquita Dennie is a new to me author and I was pleasantly surprised by the first book of her series. The storyline was intricate with a few main stories playing out all while following a core group of friends. I found that at times I had a harder time trying to follow along as the storyline jumps from couple to couple, however, the stories intrigued me which kept me connected and reading.
I look forward to reading more from this series in the future!

Rafferty (Default Distraction #2) by A.S. Roberts 4 stars
This is the second book in this series and while I did read book 1, you don’t need to to read this one as it’s about another couple and this is also happening at the same time as book 1. Raff, at first I had a hard time figuring him out and what happened in the past. He was quickly easy to cheer for as I understand male pride, he reminds me of my husband! Lauren, oh my heart broke for her in a few instances. She came out stronger and guarded but seems to jump to big conclusions without asking for answers.
These two had me as their cheerleader through the whole book and I really can’t wait to read more of this series!

Heart Of Stone was a steamy romance following Emery and Jackson as their attraction develops into a romance. Emery recently ended a relationship with a man she has known since being a kid. She was devastated by finding him cheating on her and locks her heart down, afraid to love again. Jackson is determined to break through to her and treat her right. Secrets seem to tear the two apart and struggles begin. I loved both the main characters and the supporting characters. I loved that the author tied in what was happening with her best friends. It seemed to give the story more depth. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts #1) By K.G. Fletcher Rated 4 stars
This is a good solid book. I enjoyed Emeline. She seems so carefree. Not like many women in today society. She dances to her own drum beat. When her Best friend shows back up in town she is elated. But he is not the same and now there are many years and secrets between them.
I loved that both of these characters were artists. I am in awe of people that have that type of talent. Drawing or expressing through paint would be awesome. I loved that he drew her through the years. I also loved what his grandfather did.
This isn’t my first book by this author. I like how she portrays her characters. They are very down to earth and relatable. The story moves along at a good clip and is nice and romantic.

Run to the Sea by K.G Fletcher is the first book in the Reigning Hearts series. I have read other books by Ms. Fletcher and enjoyed them all, but this might be my favorite one to date.
Emmeline and Thomas have such a sweet story. They started out as childhood best friends and then Thomas disappeared without a word. They run into one after quite a few years and they are both blind sided by the run in.
Thomas had lost who he was due to being blinded by an ambition to prove himself. This story is so much more than a romance it is also about someone rediscovering who they are and where they really belong with a little help from friends and family.
This is a series I’ll be keeping up with so I can make sure I don’t miss a single book.

Wild Heart (Hollywood Hearts Book 4) By Belinda Williams
Wild Heart (Hollywood Hearts Book 4) is a novel by Belinda Williams. While I have not read any other books by this author it was indeed a nice introduction to her writing style. With this book we get romance, suspense, and some action all in the one book. Because of this we get one great storyline. I did find that both Cole and Faith’s characters were likeable, and I am sure you will find the same. You will also find that this book is a nice easy read and you will not want to put the book down once you start. I didn’t have a problem in reading this book as a standalone and would love to go back to book one and read the series. Grab yourself drink of something and settle in for a really good read.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen is what I believe a brilliant start to a new series. What I liked about book one is that its two stories in one with Spin Drift taking us into book two, we don’t always see this tie in I found it a great way to end book one. We get introduced to Sloane who is the main character in both books and she’s no weak lady. I found her character to have strength and its good to read a book with a strong female character. The storyline is so easy to follow which makes it even more enjoyable and it will capture your interest from the start as it did with me. The book is an action-packed romance book.

I have read a couple of books from this author and she continues to blow me away. My two favorite genres are rockstar and second chance romance. This book has both and I absolutely loved it. This is the second book in the Default Distraction series.I was so excited when this book came out I dropped everything and started it right away. I was hooked on the first page. These characters grabbed me right from the start. It only took me a full day to devour this incredible book.
Rafferty has it all money, cars, and women all over him. He is a member of a number one band called Default Distraction. Raff had it all when he was younger but he let her go. Now he can’t get her out of his head. He still can’t get over Lauren. Raff is off to his hometown to relax but he can’t because he can feel her. He is shocked when he runs into her unexpectedly. She is even more beautiful than he remembered. Raff is so excited to tell her that he wants another chance but Lauren wants nothing to do with him. Will Rafferty be able to tell Lauren the real reason he left or will she walk away from him for good?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, heartache, forgiveness, and love. You can not help but to fall in love with these characters. Rafferty is rich and famous but he doesn’t take it for granted. He loves his job. Raff wants Lauren back and he will anything to make it happen. Lauren is a beautiful woman that is very independent. She was heartbroken over Raff and she never wants to feel that pain again. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. Heart of Stone ~ Book 1: Emery & Jackson (Heart of Stone Book 1 (Emery&Jackson)) is a contemporary romance story that is full of drama and passion, secrets and lies and lots of chemistry and humour that had me laughing out loud at times. The story is centered around Emery and Jackson but it also gives us a look at their friends and the women that drive them to madness. I am sure their stories will be very very interesting. The characters are definitely interesting and some are crazy and quirky, and I loved Granny and her straightforwardness with the first inappropriate thing that popped out of her mouth. As much as I enjoyed this story, the female characters frustrated me, I can understand why the men in their lives had had enough. At the same time the men came across as too full on in their alphaness (is that even a word?) and just expected the women to jump to their demands. I did like that the story was told in multiple POV’s as you have more insight into the characters and what makes them tick. 3.5 stars I wonder what Angela and Jordans stories will be like.

This book was full of emotions constantly pulling you one way to the other, but it also kept you on your seat. Hate to Love You is Book 1 in the Bakers Bunch Series written by Lily Ryan. Samantha has been in love with her brother’s best friend Cole since she can remember. Cole, has the same feelings but hasn’t acted upon them because of his best-friend aka Sam’s big brother. Sam’s brother has always told Cole to stay away from her so, Cole has never done anything…until now. Sam’s on her way to college and her brother has landed himself in rehab. There are so many ups and downs and twists and turns to this story is unbelievable. This story is not only a great love story but it is a great coming of age love story. This is also a definite Happily Ever After story. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone! Can’t wait for the next story to come out.

Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2 By Manda Mellett. I have not once been disappointed by this amazing author. Once again I got completely hooked on one of her stories and this story was incredible! From start to finish I couldn’t stop reading even for five minutes I’d find myself wondering what was going to happen next and would find myself picking up my kindle to read even more. From a storyline that has action, suspense and romance to characters that draw you into their world this is a story that shouldn’t be missed. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m once again left at a loss of what to do now while waiting for more! Let’s just wi have a major book hangover. Five stars all the way and can’t wait for more!

I really enjoyed this book and i couldn’t put it down.
This story follows the case of a murderer going around killing women in the forest. What makes this killer interesting is the mask he wears. 10 years previously Avery was attacked by someone wearing the same mask. Is it a coincidence or has the attacker escalated to murder.
This story is gripping and fast paced, I couldnt put it down as i wanted to know who it was. With a mixture of people from Avery’s past and present the murderer could be anyone. Its full of twists and turns and you will be shocked and surprised by some of the twist it takes.

Abandoned by Love (Shattered Hearts Duet Book 1) By Aleya Michelle. This is a prime example of a five star story in my opinion. Not once did I not feel a deep connection with not only the storyline but the characters also. The author does a wonderful job of writing emotions that readers can feel deep down while reading this incredible story. There’s times my heart was just breaking while reading Emily and Jaxon’s story, and I truly couldn’t ask for better written characters because they are complex, flawed and relatable. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I truly can’t wait for more! Five stars all the way, bring on the next!

After Hurricane Nina, Rand’s Resolution (Hot Hunks-Steamy Romance Collection) by Tamara Ferguson
This is a short read but full of suspense, romance, and twists. This is not my first book that I have read by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. This author writes with exceptional detail and always pulls me in from the beginning and this book was the same. I was captivated throughout the entire book. At times I was reading faster so I could find out what was going to happen next. The chemistry between Rand and Ciara could be felt jumping off the pages, but this book had so much more than romance. I found myself so intrigued with this story that I am definitely going to read the other books in this collection. I highly recommend this story, it is a definite must read.
Operation Boyfriend by Molly Zenk is a young adult romance story that I have a love hate relationship with. The story is well written but I did not like the main character or her best friend. The MC is one who really wouldn’t think for herself and let others make her decisions for her in all aspects of her life. Her supposed best friend I would have given up if she was my friend. There is so much angst that many times I went to put the book down and give up but for some reason each time I pushed on. The premise of the story was good and there is some interesting twists and I loved the character, Corin, he found his way into my heart. There is a little humour in the story that made reading it a little more fun.
If you like a story that is full of young adult angst then I am sure you will enjoy this story.

I love the different song for each chapter. The author got my attention fast with that detail. I also liked Magnum. He is a guy to be feared but also cherished. All these men are just big softies. I love it. This one is my favorite so far. The rawness when magnum speaks his feelings. The realness from the pain and fear. I can’t get enough of this series. This author has me hooked. I’m ready to be a character in a book so I can find my HEA. Even though it’s sad to lose people there is also beauty in it. You learn to let old ghost go and allow new things in.

Women can be the definition of the devil. The vindictiveness alone could kill you. Cappy finds his childhood friend and feelings that he thought long forgotten resurface. Em is a busy body. The type of person who has to be involved with everything and help everyone. Their reunion wasn’t all hearts and flowers though. Fiona is a spoiled brat. Her glee over Thomas and Em’s pain was too much. I understand a broken heart better than most. What she did was wrong on many levels. The author did really well with this story. Lies Come True by Emerald O’Brien is the first book in the Avery Hart Trilogy is reminded me how much I love a crime story. I started reading it in the tub and before I knew it the water was cold and I had already read the first quarter of the book. I hated putting it down long enough to get out and ready for bed.
Avery was attacked when she was only fourteen years old as she was walking home from school. She barely escaped with her life that day.
Fast forward ten years, women are being attacked in a similar area and the description given matches the one Avery gave all those years ago and she decided to reach out to the police department and that is when Noah enters her world.
There are things I want to mention but they could be considered spoilers and the last thing I want to do is ruin this book for anyone. Looking to find time now to read the next book in this series.

Well this was another new author and one of those I went in blind reads. Things We Lost is the first book of the Loving Locksley Series from Shae Banks. I was immediately drawn in by the gorgeous and bold cover. It just screamed “read me!” I must say I was over all pleased with the book and I did enjoy it. I will be back for the next novel in the series and see how things progress. However, this book was just maybe a tad shy of that five star, knock my socks off reads. I kept waiting for that spin or twist that would elevate the story to that level and things stayed relatively fluid and steady from beginning to end. It was a short quick read though so Banks kept it brief and didn’t drag out the usual story line longer than necessary.
Nathalie Johnson never figured she would see Jason Locksley again. He crushed her when he disappeared from her life thirteen years prior to this chance run in she finds herself in. Rather easily she gives into his requests for a second chance, but of course there will be obstacles and old wounds that will need to be healed before they can truly have a chance at true love. Will they ever get their happily ever after? Definitely a solid four-star rainy afternoon read! I look forward to seeing what will come next in the series!

Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton is the second book in the Man’s Best Friend Series. I fell in love with Willow from the very beginning and fell deeper in love the further into the book I got. I definitely saw little pieces of my own dogs in Willow. Plus can you go wrong writing a book where the biggest supporting character is a sweet dog? My answer to that is no.
Kerry and Caleb meet in a fairly unique way and their relationship from the beginning was unusual but I really enjoyed it. Kerry’s Dad was great and had some laughs because of him.
I do wish the blast from Kerry’s past had been more a part of the story but I’m not exactly sure how that could have been done.
This was an extremely cute story with a happy ending. If you want something fairly lighthearted with minimal conflict and involves an adorable dog then I think you should give it a try.

Holy wow ya’ll this book took me by ‘storm’! I adore Tamara Ferguson and the sweet romances that she writes so it was a no-brainer for me when it came across my feed and I one-clicked this book on the spot. I do think this was a tad bit of a step outside the box for Tamara a titch and I LOVED it. Rand’s Resolution is one part of an eight part series from a collection of authors that have come together to give one massive collection of steamy books. As soon as I found out that this was part of a series I ran and one-clicked all the rest of them. No worries if you haven’t though, this can be read as a standalone and all about Rand and Ciara. Theirs is one you won’t want to miss!

Hate to Love You was one of those books that I completely judged by its cover, and one-clicked once I took it all in. I have never had the chance to read anything from Lily Ryan prior to this and so I was definitely going in completely blind with high hopes. Let me tell you, Ms. Ryan did not disappoint! Yeah, yeah it is a second chance mixed with the forbidden love romance that you see a lot of in the romance genre, but it is so well written that you are engaged from beginning to end without a dull moment to be found.
I just adored reading Cole and Samantha. Their little love story and the difficult road it takes to get from that first life altering kiss brought be back to my younger years when love was young and naive. Sam is a tad annoying with the naivete character but it really ends up evolving and fitting the story quite well. I loved Cole, he swept me off my feet! I am super excited that this is book one in the Baker’s Bunch Series so there will be more to come in this story line. While I wait I have some previously released books to devour by Lily Ryan!

This is a Young Adult book that I enjoyed from cover to cover. It pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me engaged until the end. It is a well written, creative story. This is about Zach who finds out that his mom is a fairy godmother on top of that he is one too. When his mom is injured, he is faced with finishing her assignments but what he didn’t realize is how dangerous it could be. I enjoyed the characters as they brought this fairytale to life. I highly recommend this book.

Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan is book one of the Baker’s Bunch series. This book has forbidden love, second chances and so much more. I couldn’t put it down!!
Sam has always had feelings for Cole it seems. Cole never cared much if Sam tagged along with Tyler, her older brother. Rule was Cole’s best friend so he knew that nothing could ever happen with Sam. Sam’s life seems to be unraveling but when everything seems like it’s falling apart, Cole is still there. Sam takes her chance. Will Sam and Cole make a go at it or will all the forces stack against them?
I absolutely loved this book. It was heartbreaking yet heartfelt. I felt every single emotion! I don’t even have the words for how much I love this book. I highly recommend reading it!

Heels of Fortune (PJ Santini Series Book 2) By Lynne Russell Rated 4 stars
This one is a quick read with all the amazing characters from Hell on Heels! Along with the added benefit of a few new colorful characters. This had me laughing and smiling while reading. In fact I didn’t put this down and read it in one fail swoop. I really enjoy reading about PJ’s antics and love her time with the men in her life. Not to mention her lovely parents and wonderful grandmother.
This is the second book In this series and honestly I can see it continuing for a while. Limited only to imagination. Well done and I look forward to more in this series. PS. That Daly is one H-O-T guy!

I read this book and then went through it again because I felt like I was missing something – I tend to read very quickly and sometimes don’t absorb important facts. It was after running through it the second time that I realized what I read was meant for the Y/A crowd, so it’s not going to have the resolutions I am looking for (I specifically want to know more about Dr. O and the clinic).
SHORTCUTS is a story about just that, taking shortcuts to get what a perceived outcome should be. Each of the high schoolers featured in the story have an enviable “power”. There’s an empath, a boy with telekinesis, a “psychic”, one with supersonic hearing, Josh and Mia (I don’t want to give anything away so won’t tell you what they are up to).
Parker is a girl who wants to help everyone feel better and the theme of the story are the shortcuts she takes to “help” others along. Messing with destiny can have life altering results.
This book was well written, the friendships are strong and diverse and the energy of the book was fast paced. It certainly held my attention from beginning to end. I think there are covert lessons to be learned also. Everyone is carrying a burden; some share the burdens better than others. Everyone deserves to have friends and be loved. Most importantly, there is no such thing as a shortcut. Every action has a counter action which is not always what we want it to be.
I absolutely would recommend this story to my younger cousins.
Mayhem by Autumn Sand is the second book in the Twisted Hearts series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although the whole series is worth a read. This book was just as good as the first book. I enjoyed the characters and their story. I really felt a connection between them. The story was fast paced and I found it to be quite intense in places. It sucks you in to the story and made sure to not let up until the end. Although this book can be read as a stand-alone I really do recommend reading them all as the characters do cross over and they are genuinely just that good.View all my reviews

Mayhem is the 2nd book in the Twisted Hearts Love Story series by Autumn Sand. Although there are recurring characters, each book can be read as a standalone. I had not read the first book Bedlam before reading Mayhem and did not feel that I was missing any key parts to the story. Although, now that I have read Mayhem and really enjoyed it, I’d like to go back and discover Tony and Anaya’s story. Dante (or Tick as he’s also known) is Tony’s right hand man. He still hasn’t got over the death of his beloved pregnant, fiancée Kayla, in a car crash on their wedding day 10 years previously and subsequently the death of prematurely born Dante jnr. Cyma is a struggling single mum, who is juggling 2 jobs, one as a stripper, to help pay of the debts she has with loan shark Wheeler. Debts she has risen up in order to pay for the healthcare of daughter Leila who is battling Leukaemia. A chance meeting brings Danta and Cyma together and Dante is totally smitten. He will do anything, and I mean anything to make life better for Cyma. This book is dark and gritty and will drag you into it’s grip from the very beginning. It has so much emotion and so many twists and turns that will keep you glued to this book and you will not want to put it down. I loved it so much. I already have the 3rd book in the series ‘Bonded’ on my kindle waiting for me and I can’t wait to see what the author has in mind for Magnum and Brenda.

Hate to love you, by Lily Ryan, is the first book in the Bakers Bunch series. THIS BOOK was amazing and hooked me right away. This book is filled with tension, passion, love, lust, and heartbreak. Sam was always in love with her brother’s best friend. He was always there for her and never turned her away when she wanted to tag along. Cole always knew that he had feelings for Sam but knew nothing would or could happen between them. SHE WAS OFF LIMITS. Then one night, while Sam is seeking confront from Cole things go far and they share of night of passion and longing. Quickly these two learn not all secrets stay hidden and one night could lead to losing something they both love and want. I adore Lily Ryan and the books she shares with us. She gives us stories we can jump into and love. I give this book 5 star and highly recommend this book!

Reset to One is the second book in the Paranormal Talent Agency series. It can be read as a standalone, however there are characters mentioned from the previous book.
As with the first book, this one has some humorous moments amidst the seriousness of murders and finger pointing as to who the guilty party might be. One of my favorite lines from this book is, “ I’m not interested in continuing to parlay with lackeys.” The relationship development between Evie and Ryan is written well and that makes the ending satisfying. This book has just the right amount of drama mixed in with the romance to make it work.
Both of the books that I’ve read so far in this series have been wonderful. I’m looking forward to the next one.
