Hate to Love You (Baker’s Bunch Book 1) by Lily Ryan – Review by Kerry Baker

Hate to Love You (Baker's Bunch Book 1)Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan is the first book in the Baker’s Bunch series. This is a brilliant Brothers best friend romance that is sure to capture your heart.
This is the kind of book that absolutely steals my heart and this one is definitely one of the best. I loved the connection between the two main characters. Their chemistry was undeniable and the forbidden nature so captivating. A lot of the time I find this element off putting but the author did it so well I was thoroughly convinced. As a first read by this author I have to say she blew me away and I loved every aspect of this book. To me this is a must read!

Heels of Fortune: PJ Santini Series Book 2 by Lynne Russell – Review by Tausha Treadway

Heels Of Fortune (PJ Santini Series Book 2)Heels Of Fortune by Lynne Russell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Heels of Fortune: PJ Santini Series Book 2 by Lynne Russell. Let me start by saying I LOVE these books. They are the best books I’ve read in a long time. This book kinda picks up where Hell On Heels leaves off. PJ Santini is a “reporter” when she shows up to the newsroom and a private investigator. She loves high heels and her family and best friends. PJ is constantly getting into messes. Her husband dies on their honeymoon and she finds out he left her with a big secret that bad people don’t want her to have. She decides to try and solve this puzzle with the help of her friends Hot Tango Dly ( a fellow reporter) , her very best friend Vicki and her cousin Sandro. If they can’t solve this before the bad guys get to her she will be a dead girl in heels! This book sucks you in and you can’t turn the pages fast enough.

The Reason Why by Izzibella Beau – Review by Lisa Brydalski

The Reason Why: Breathless SeriesThe Reason Why: Breathless Series by Izzibella Beau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Reason Why by author Izzibella Beau is the story of Alabama, an eighteen-year-old girl who hasn’t had the best early years. Her mother would definitely not be winning any mother of the year awards and because of this Alabama ends up going to live with her mother’s one-time best friend and her children. Alabama is unprepared for her new life, she has spent the past eighteen years pretty much being neglected, as a wanted member of a “normal” family. She is also not prepared for Joshua and Hunter and the feelings she possesses for the brothers.
This is the first book I have read by Izzibella Beau and I can honestly say that I hope it won’t be the last. I enjoyed her writing style and was quickly drawn into the story. I laughed many times and I am not afraid to say that there may have been a tear or two were shed. Throughout the book I rooted for Alabama to be given a shot on a life she deserved; I wish she was real so I could give her a hug! So, in conclusion I would like to say, good job Ms. Beau, you just found yourself a new fan!!

REWIND by Rowan Shaw – Review by Karyn Taylor

Rewind (Rewind #1)Rewind by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rewind is a wonderfully written M/M contemporary romance by Rowan Shaw. M/M is a relatively new genre for me and this is by far the best book in this genre that I have read so far.
Enzo and Florian were sweethearts as young boys until tragedy struck and they were forced apart both believing that the other didn’t want to see them anymore.
Years later they both meet by chance in a club and the sexual attraction is still there but both have recently come out of long term relationships that they haven’t got over and starting a new relationship is the last thing on both their minds. BUT what they had before was special and should they risk their fragile heart and make a go of their obvious attraction and feeling for one another?
I adored both Enzo and Florian, they both have their flaws but deep down both are very sweet, amazing guys. One thing I really loved about this book is that Enzo is profoundly deaf. As a person with a hearing impairment, I loved that the author chose to have a profoundly deaf character in a main role. A bold move that not many authors would be willing to take.
After finishing this book I discovered that this was the author’s debut novel. All I can say is that if this is a debut novel then I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Hawke (Men of Syn Book 1) by Anise Storm – Review by Susan Mowdy

Hawke (Men of Syn, #1)Hawke by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Men of Syn series and the first book that I’ve read from Anise Storm and I completely loved it. The blurb itself intrigued me and the story itself hooked me. I would say this is romantic suspense with a bit of heat thrown in.

Charlotte is the biggest up and coming party planner. If you need a party planned, you get her. A year earlier she decided to finally explore her submissive side and it was a total embarrassing flub so she shut down that part of her life. A year later, she is hired to play a party by the Dom that topped her that horrible night. Hawke now has his sights on her as well as a killer well. Thats when everything gets really exciting.

I loved this first book of this series and I’m so excited to dig more into it. This is a definite one-click!

Reset to One (Paranormal Talent Agency Book 2) by Heather Silvio – Review by Susan Mowdy

Reset to One (Paranormal Talent Agency, #2)Reset to One by Heather Silvio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve quickly fallen into this series. This series is such a light hearted fun read that will hook you instantly.

I loved reading about Evie and Ryan. He believes his friends is being framed for murdering his wife. Evie is more of a pessimist but teamed up with Ryan to investigate. Life (whether it be normal or paranormal) has a way of throwing wrenches into plans and ex’s seem to be popping up as Evie and Ryan’s chemistry grows as they solve the mystery.

This story can be read as a standalone but with the crossing of characters, I would suggest that the series should be read in order and I promise you’ll love it.

REWIND By Rowan Shaw – Review by Katie Kearney

Rewind (Rewind #1)Rewind by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

REWIND By Rowan Shaw. This story had me completely hooked from beginning to end. Enzo and Florian Have such an emotional story to be told about heartbreak, second chances and moving on after hurt. The writing is smooth and engaging, the author does a wonderful job of writing a story that had my emotions all over the place. Each character has something different to bring to this great story. I felt every emotion the author wrote into the storyline and the chemistry between the characters was also felt, I’d feel like I truly knew these characters instead of reading about them. I’m giving this story a four star review and highly recommend it. I’m excited to read more from this author.

Rafferty (Default Distraction Book 2) by A.S. Roberts

5 Stars

I could not wait to read this book as well as any book by this author and once again I was not disappointed. I loved Rafferty in the 1st book, then disliked him immensely at the beginning of this book then as I read on he started melting my heart and by the end I of course loved him again 🙂

This book runs pretty much parallel with Brody and it was kind of awesome, luckily it has not been that long ago that I read Brody so I picked up on the same time frame pretty quick. Lauren was awesome but she literally ticked me off during most of the book. Really?! I mean I understand the hurt and the fear of trusting again but communication would have solved so so much!

I love the concept of this series. I’m not normally a fan of books involving bands and such but how this author handles this one has me totally invested in all of these people. The secondary characters are beyond awesome and I can not wait to see who gets to tell their story next.

Loved it and highly recommend reading both books so far in this series.

The Reason Why
By Izzibella Beau
Rated 5 stars!!

Wow! Just Wow! I LOVED this book! I literally have chills still going up and down my body after finishing this. I felt everything these character did and laughed, cried and struggled right along with them. To me this is the definition of a great writer. I need to be able to be able to be drawn into a story. Love, hate and identify with the characters. Those are some BIG double checks on all of those for this book. Who couldn’t love these characters? They have heart!

This was written well and I had it read in one day! One Day people! I thought about it at work and couldn’t wait to get back home to see what was going to happen. I loved the secondary characters as well as the main ones. They are heartwarming and I enjoyed meeting that family. I loved how a couple of the MC’s were able to stand their ground for the greater good. Think of others before yourself is a great message. That title! I was curious about it but now I totally get it! It works and fits like a puzzle piece.
This is easily one of my favorite reads of the year!

Little Miss Eyes of BlueLittle Miss Eyes of Blue by Holly Tierney-Bedord
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Little Miss Eyes of Blue is the prequel to The Woman America Loves a Latte by Holly Tierney-Bedord. This book for me was a hard read Poor Veloura. I do not like her parents Paul and Marla. In Little miss eyes of blue we get to know her parents a little better it shows us how they met and got married and had kids and shows us how Veloura grew up. You get a better understanding of why Veloura is the way she is. I love Vee and became very found of her. I was really excited to read more about her and get to understand her a little better. Holly Tierney-Bedord is a wonderful Author and I really enjoyed reading these books and I look forward to reading more from this Author. Thank you for taking me and everyone through this journey with Veloura.

Until Fools Find GoldUntil Fools Find Gold by Mary B. Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story was such an amazing read! And what a wonderful introduction to Mary B Moore as an author! I was hooked from beginning to end and found it really difficult to find a place where I could actually put the book down so I could actually do some real life things! Luna was just the best character to read about! She made me laugh so much at times, it was really refreshing to read about her actually especially considering everything she endured during her childhood – I just loved her! I think I fell in love with Levi as soon as I started reading about him! He may have just been the perfect guy to read about and then there was Noah! Two perfect brothers!!
There was so much going on in this story and I truly went on such an emotional journey, from laughter to tears! I really felt for Luna and the pain she suffered but also really admired the strength she had to escape!
Until Fools Find Gold was a wonderful read, one that I highly recommend and I absolutely cannot wait to read more from this author again in the future!

Past Storm and Fire was a fantastic and exciting 5 star read by Christy Nicholas and I story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. The level of detail that the author put into the story was just amazing; I was completely captivated by what I was reading. I could tell that the author really had taken the time to research what she writing about and this made a he difference to me as a reader. I have read quite a few books by this author now and I have to say I think that this one is definitely my favourite so far, it was just one of those stories that you find really difficult to put down. I loved the main character Val, she was such a strong person and I really felt like I was living her journey with her.
A fantastic 5 star read that I highly recommend!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is a combination of two stories and the first book in the Silent Secrets series and were both really good reads! This might have been a short read but it certainly packed a punch! It was definitely a page turner which was exciting, thrilling and had amazing characters! I loved that I was constantly guessing what would happen with the next turn of the page. There is one thing I can definitely say about this book, apart from how great it was, was that the author absolutely brought the title into the story, I really and truly felt the betrayal in the storyline! My attention was kept from beginning to end and I was really hooked into the storyline!
I absolutely cannot wait to read more from this author again in the future!

BEDLAM (A TWISTED HEARTS LOVE STORY BOOK 1) BY AUTUMN SAND – A REVIEW BY MELISSA AGENA

Bedlam (A Twisted Hearts Love Story, #1)Bedlam by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was one of the best stories I have read in such a long time! Bedlam is the first book in the Twisted Hearts Love Story Series by Autumn Sand. This story follows Anaya and the sudden landing of an exclusive job of redesigning the interior at the elusive club Pulse. She has no idea how she’s contracted it, except for the fact that the owner has asked for her specifically and only her. Then when she shows up to the meeting and meets the owner, she can’t seem to take her eyes off of him. Small problem though…Anaya has a boyfriend, Iggy. Iggy is the head of the mob. However, the owner of the club has eyes for her too and can’t seem to stay away from her either. There are so many twists and turns it’s not even funny. I’m warning you now though, there are some pretty rough and graphic scenes in terms of rape. But there is a happy ever after to this story! This book is definitely a page-turner. I loved every minute of it! You will not be disappointed! I cannot wait for the next book in the series, especially if it is as good as this one!

This is the second story in the series and I have been waiting with baited breath for it to come across my lap. A.S. has written another winner with her amazing characters and vibrant details that make the story pop off the page. Trust me you will want to read the first book in this series Brody as it is a series written about a rock band and each of its members. It’s the little things that A.S. does so well her characters ooze sexy and broody like no one. I mean who doesn’t love a Rockstar, who is sooooo sexy and steamy. Trust me ladies you do not want to miss this series.

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1)Things We Lost by Shae Banks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) by Shae Banks is a sweet second chance romance story that is a little emotional. It is a little predictable with the time tested story of boy meets girl and falls in love then one disappears and breaks the others heart but reunite years later. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it, I did really enjoy the story. I liked the characters and Shaes depiction of them made them seem real and likeable.

The boy of Nat’s dreams left with no reason why, boy she thought would be with her for the rest of her life but of course he broke her heart. Now she has finally gotten her life back on track after a disastrous marriage gone terribly wrong she is now faced with the man who broke her heart once again.

I look forward to see what Shae has instore for us next.

Four Stars

I couldn’t let someone tell me when and how to live someone. Levi was overprotective and wrong for his interference. Luna is amazing for growing the way she did. She has been through so much pain and trauma. Her father was an awful man and he didn’t do right by his child. So much of this story made me sad but also happy. The outcome doesn’t always have to be good. It could leave you feeling heartbroken. The author pulled at your heart strings. Through most of the book you question the mindset. I liked how the author gave each character growth. They actually were involved throughout the whole study. I will have to check out more books from this author.

Heels of Fortune (PJ Santini Series Book 2) by Lynne Russell – Review by Emma Morreale

Heels Of Fortune (PJ Santini Series Book 2)Heels Of Fortune by Lynne Russell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After reading the first book, I had decent expectations for the sequel. Lynne Russell didn’t disappoint and I was pretty well hooked from the first page. The plot was more evenly paced than the previous book and I didn’t feel like there were as many instances of “this was written for a male character and was switched at the last second” but there were a couple where I was thinking if the gratuitous description of PJ’s anatomy was entirely necessary. Tango was interesting but I just kept giggling at his name.

All in all, a definite improvement over the first book and I hope this series continues.

Rewind by Rowan Shaw

5-Stars

Rewind was an interesting novel that focuses on the LGBT community. It was exceptionally written with an easy to follow storyline. It was very steamy and romantic. Florian and Enzo were the two main characters. Each had a unique and distinguishable personality. Out of the two, Enzo was my favorite. He did not let his disability hold him back and eagerly pursues his dreams. I loved how driven he was and he also seemed easier for me to relate to. This book was not something I usually read and I felt that it taught me different aspects of its setting, French sign language, and also how hostile the world can be toward others. This book did have several sex scenes and also had several hateful scenes as well. I really enjoyed this novel and I think others would as well.

Bedlam (A Twisted Hearts Love Story, #1)Bedlam by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bedlam: A Twisted Hearts Love Story by Autumn Sand is the first book in this series though each book is a standalone.

Anaya is unhappy with her life . Her longtime boyfriend is cheating and just doesn’t treat her the way she deserves. She realizes how unhappy and unfulfilled she is when she meets Tony.

Tony’s club needs a makeover and finds the perfect person Anaya. What he doesn’t realize is how fast she will get under his skin.

This book has everything including some possible triggers but the way they were written made me not cringe as much as I could have with that very uncomfortable subject.

I’m very weird when it comes to series, even if they can be read as standalones I still prefer to read them in order so this is actually the second book in this series I have read and so glad I picked this book.

Bedlam (A Twisted Hearts Love Story, #1)Bedlam by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bedlam A Twisted Hearts Love Story is not the first book I’ve read by Autumn Sand and definitely will not be the last. This author drags you into the story and makes you feel what the characters feel. The characters were amazing and some of them were lovable. Some not so much. This was a dark read and not for the faint of heart but the author expressed that in the blurb.
This book sucks you in from the very first chapter. I was so happy to read some of it and so sad for some of it. I was surprised to see how everything came together and what the plans were. Anaya seemed like a very strong character but, was surprised to see some of the things she put up with in her relationship. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Drawing BloodlinesDrawing Bloodlines by Deborah Garland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read this author before in her “Darling Cove” series – I enjoy her writing style and the way she tells a tale. DRAWING BLOODLINES was a little bit of a departure from the “small town” feel of her previous series.

From the very first sentence to the very last period, this book turned its own pages. It’s a well balanced story that has a paranormal aspect, romance, amazing characters and terrific world building. The main characters are a great read and the secondary characters not only hold their own, but lend to great anticipation of reading their stories in the very near (crossing my fingers) future.

This book is one that I would recommend to paranormal and romance readers alike.

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1)Things We Lost by Shae Banks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loving Locksley is a new series by Shae Banks and Things We Lost is the title. This is my first book by Shae Banks and I have to admit that this story peaked my interest. I am slowly becoming a fan of contemporary romance novels and that is what this story is but it is also about second chances. Let me be real for a moment, if my ex-boyfriend would want back into my life I am not sure if i could be tempted to take him back. Well that is what Nathalie was challenged with Jason. Thirteen years prior Jason was everything to Nathalie and he one day left and did not turn back. Fast forward to present and Nathalie was out with friends and in comes Jason. She did not want anything to do with him. She was hurt and not wanting to get hurt again. Well as it goes Nathalie caves in and went out for coffee with Jason and one thing leads to another and BAM she is with him again. Will this time be different? Is there secrets that each person does not want to surface? Will this second chance work? Enjoy the story and find the answers to these questions plus more.

The Reason Why: Breathless SeriesThe Reason Why: Breathless Series by Izzibella Beau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Reason Why by Izzibella Beau is a story that will stop you in your tracks and make you think and feel. It is a story of life having been upended, a story of growing up and a story of hard choices. It is not the first book I have read by this writer and I think she is a great YA writer that I would recommend to any of high schoolers and teenagers struggling with finding their way.
Alabama’s life has always been close to the edge thanks to her mother’s actions and it culminates with her mom ending up locked up so she gets sent to her mom’s best friend from high school who has 2 sons, Joshua and Hunter. You can only imagine how life might be with them … one of them becomes the best friend and the other one seems to be ignoring her … I believe many of us who are older than the target audience, can still remember the angst and pain and hope and the first love …
I promise that you will cry and laugh and it all feels real and you keep your fingers crossed and hope that everyone finds their happiness. And add to this music and you have a movie running in your mind’s eye. I wish you many pleasurable hours while following in Alabama, Hunter and Joshua’s footsteps!
