A Gentleman’s Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon Book 4) by Jean Wilde. I’ve just recently gotten more into historical fiction and this one has definitely pulled me in even more. This author wrote characters that drew me into their world. The back and forth between the characters was great and had me hooked. Each character brings something unique to the storyline and they are relatable making easy to be lost in the pages. It’s a well thought out and well written story that has a nice pace. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. I’m giving this story a four star review and highly recommend it.

Music Man by K.L. Montgomery is book one of the Romance in Rehoboth series. This book is a standalone and the series can be read in any order. I haven’t read the series in any particular order and I haven’t missed anything.
This book is Jack and Claire’s story. Jack has always dreamed of making it big in the music industry. Sometimes things don’t always work out to plan which is how Jack ends up teaching music and meeting Claire. There is an instant connection between the two and things progress naturally between them. Claire encourages Jack not to give up on his dream and as unlikely as it may seem, Jack gets a second chance at it. With Jack’s dream job on the table, what will the future look like for the two of them?
This was such a fun, sweet story to read. I’ve read other books in the series and each book has its own feel making it such an enjoyable read!
The Flip
The Flip by K.L. Montgomery is book two of the Romance in Rehoboth series. Similar to book one, this book is a standalone and can be read in any order.
This book is the story of Andrew and Sonnet. These two couldn’t stand each other in high school. Little did they know a decade later, they would be thrown together by none other than Andrew’s great aunt. They need to put the past behind them and work together if either one of them are going to achieve their goals. Will they be able to make it through what promises to be an interesting remodel? Did Aunt Penny throw them together for other reasons? You’ll find out once you dive in to this great story!
This book was such a fun read! A great romantic comedy that keeps the pages turning!
Plot Twist
Plot Twist by K.L. Montgomery is book three of the Romance in Rehoboth series. This book can be read as a standalone. I started with book three but I enjoyed it so much I’m going to have to go back and read books one and two. This book is a romantic comedy and while I don’t read them often, this book kept my attention the whole time!
This book tells the story of Meric and Lindy who both are cast to play in an upcoming musical. Lindy has almost zero self confidence as she has always viewed herself and a plus sized woman but her voice wows Meric. Meric’s mesmerized by her voice and wants to get to know her better. Lindy is sure that she would never be the object of Meric’s affections. Meric himself has some insecurities and they stem from his failed marriage. He is sure he has no need for a relationship. But then he meets Lindy. Will these two get passed their hang ups and end up together?
I really enjoyed this book but what’s more is I enjoyed the characters. Even the secondary characters add to the story in their interactions with Lindy and Meric. It was a fun book to read.

A Study in Spirits: A College Fae magic series #2 by Byrd Nash. Some times I have a hard time getting into a fantasy type story unless I’m really wanting one but I had absolutely no problem diving right into this one. The author did a wonderful job of writing a story that draws you in. This group of characters really know how to keep you hooked. There’s twist and turns I wasn’t expecting and loved every bit of. While on the shorter side it still packs a punch and had me happily lost in the pages well into the night. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything, with characters you won’t soon forget. I’m so excited to see where this author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

Romance in Rehoboth is a series of romantic comedies. Each book focuses on the story of one couple or character. They are all set in Rehoboth Beach Delaware, and are wonderfully written. While this is listed as a series, its more of a collection. While the characters overlap a bit, each book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. That being said, once you read one, you will want to read them all! The characters and situations are realistic and you feel like you are living the story with them. The first book, Music Man, focuses on Jack and Claire. (Read Fat Girl to get the first half of their story). Jack is a music teacher that has entered a local singing contest, at the urging of his girlfriend Claire. They are taken on a roller coaster ride as his stardom raises. Book 2, The Flip, tells the story of Andrew and Sonnet. They were rivals in high school and then 10 years later find themselves thrown back together. They must learn to put aside their differences and get along for the sake of the house they’ve inherited. Book 3, Plot Twist, tells the story of Meric Chandler and Lindy Larson. They are cast together in a musical, and must do their best to not ruin the show with their backstage romance.

This novel by Mina Chara was really good. Today, Superheroes are a really big deal. Maybe they have always been a big deal, just ask any young boy with a comic book collection. What made this book interesting was the fact that it is a book about superheroes just starting out. They are all young and new to their superhero attributes. Mina Chara included in her story some adventure and suspens which made for a very interesting read. I look forward to continuing the adventure in the next installment of Mina Chara’s series.

Testament of Feats: Book of Sorrows by K.H. Jones Four Stars
Testament of Feats: Book of Sorrows is the second book in the Testament of Feats series by K.H. Jones. I enjoyed the first book, but this is my new favorite. This Series should be read in order because this book starts where book one ended. It is a fantastical story, with detailed characters that draw you in. This book flowed smoothly and held my attention from beginning to end. If you like fantasy this is a great series, and I highly recommend it.

Ok, well I need the next book like right now. I kept trying to turn pages that weren’t there. I loved this book more than the first and that was a tall order. I really love these characters and the fast paced energy in this book. I love the sassy and quick wit of Dylan. I really am kicking myself for never reading this author before but now I’m hooked.

Denial (Hero High Book 1) by Mina Chara was a great quick read. The pacing is fast and the introductions done quickly. I pictured the story as a comic book while I was reading and enjoyed it tremendously. I think this is a great young adult read and opens a few doors to have discussions with your kids if they read it. My son is too young but I am trying early on to turn him into a reader so I can understand how his brain works. I loved the setting, the characters, and the plots presented. I look forward to more from this series!

Mina Chara is a new author for me. This was a relatively short book, 3 chapters is all- but so full of information without being info overload. I honestly can’t wait to see what happens next. This book is about Friday Fitzsimmons and her beginning at Hero High. Throughout the book you meet new people who influence her in both positive and negative ways.Friday leaves her home, basically kicked out by her father, to get money for her family. She’s always wanted to be a hero, even if she doesn’t think her power is very good. It’s a quick read but very detailed. I enjoyed this and can’t wait for the next installment. There are so many different questions that she left open ended, I have no doubt the next books will be just as amazing.

K.L. Montgomery has combined the other 3 books in her Rehoboth Series into a Boxed Set – Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 4-6): A Small Town Romantic Comedy Series. She gave us the first three books in a set and then went ahead and gave us another present, another set with books 4 to 6. Her romantic small town romcoms make you wish to move into a small town yourself hoping that you could meet some of those strong independent heroines and make friends with them and maybe catch the eye of a down-to-earth hero … All the stories can be read as standalones but if your heart longs for some romcom, go ahead and binge! Book 1 aka Book 4 is Badge Bunny that is the story of the ER doctor Brynne Miller aka the ‘Badge Bunny’ and Chris Everson who is a state trooper and who managed to piss off Brynne within 2 seconds of meeting her! So how do you get over that first impression that is compounded with follow up meetings where Chris manages to annoy the heck out of Brynne? We are taken on quite an adventure. This book gives us a unique take on excalibur and all that entails. There is action, magic, originality, and great characters. This is the first time I have read anything from this author and I’m glad I did because I enjoyed the way this book was written. You might be a little confused in the beginning but I promise you it does all come together and makes sense. The action started almost from the beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I recommend this book, it was a fun read.

Hero High Denial is the first book I’ve read by Mina Chara and it didn’t disappoint, young adults will love this book. The descriptions and scene mapping were so detailed which always helps me be able to see the story rather than just follow it so I really loved that quality. The first page had me interested in the story plot and I just couldn’t wait to see where the it went and how the characters would progress in Hero High. This is a new world and new age of superheroes to explore and fall in love with, anyone who enjoys the young adult genre will find this book satisfying. Now I can’t wait to read book 2….

This is a rock band, second chance romance with an added twist, involving the mafia which makes this an exciting read. I loved the characters and the storyline flowed well. Cade Morello is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it, as not only is he the drummer in chart topping US rock band, Default Distraction but he’s also as a Morello, the son of a mafia boss. However it doesn’t mean he can get anyone he likes and when the guitarist, Rafferty’s little sister appears all grown up Cade is determined to show her he’s serious about their relationship, even if it means returning too the world run by his father that he left behind. However Winter is not convinced they have a future as Cade has already broken her heart once before and that was before he became the bad boy of DD. An emotional rollercoaster of a story and great chemistry between Cade and Winter, kept me turning the pages well into the night. An enjoyable read and I am interested in reading the other books in Roberts’s ‘Default Distraction’ series featuring the other members of the band.

I enjoyed this Dystopian Romance by Bree M. Lewandowski set in the future. Dystopian novels are not my usual genre but I’m so pleased I picked this book up, as once I started it I could not put it down. I liked that the author began the book with an explanation of what had happened on Earth and why the conditions were as they were. It is set in 3034 and power has reverted back to steam and Airships darken the sky as Europe crumbles under war. Thea Lang, as the granddaughter to the Emperor has been living in Imperial Vienna untouched by the war but when it finally arrives bringing bloodshed across Austria, Thea and her elder brother must flee to the safety of Belarus. Thea’s life as a refugee is tough and she longs to return home, until she meets handsome Captain Irek Surov who has black eyes and a voice like midnight. Irek fights for Russia and the other countries who need its aid abut is stopped in his tracks when he meets a young beautiful woman who he believes has the beauty of the Russian folklore sirens, and she brings his heart to a halt. The two can not deny their attraction and chemistry, and this sizzles of the page. I loved the two main characters and how their relationship developed throughout the story. Even though their lives seem to lie in opposite directions the bond the pair has is strong but war has no mercy for lovers. The world building is so detailed I could see, hear and smell the future that Lewandowski wove around Thea and Irek. This book has drama and romance amongst a dystopian future and war, and I was gripped from page one with the fast paced storyline. I recommend you read this wonderful story to find out if the flames of battle do burn the indelible cord which has been woven between Irek and Thea’s hearts.

The first book in a new series by Belinda Williams, the series is set in beachside Sydney and features high-achieving women, like Kat Chalmers and men like Kat’s new mysterious neighbour Matt Goodridge who are not afraid of being challenged by the women in their lives. ‘Read Between the Lines’, is a wonderfully written contemporary romance featuring some great rounded characters and an enjoyable storyline. I found the two main characters, Kat and Matt who I grew to love both likeable and realistic and I found myself going on their emotional rollercoaster with them through the book. The secondary characters were also intriguing and I look forward to meeting those again in future books in the series. The chemistry between Kat and Matt sizzled of the page and I was cheering them on wanting them to reach their happy ever after. This was a lovely read with some real heartwarming moments and some romance but also drama, which kept me happily reading way until the night, always a sign of a good book for me. I recommend this book and I’m looking forward to reading future books in the ‘Freshwater’ series.

Denial is book 1 of the Hero High series and is set in the near future world of Icon City which is a haven for ‘powered one-percenters’. The story centres around seventeen year old Friday who is in her first year at Hero High, a famous school for people with powers. She has to live within the super structure and she has cameras following her around all the time. The school has very high expectations of its powered pupils but thankfully Friday has best friend Jake with her to help her settle in. Although this is a short story it packs a lot in and is a great start to the Hero High series. It has a fast paced storyline and the world building is well done, as I felt immersed in Icon City. I liked the main characters, Friday and Jake, and all the secondary characters were fascinating too and I look forward to them getting their own stories during the series.

Testament of Feats: Book of Sorrows by K.H. Jones is the second book in this series. We pick up following Night Scream in his search for the missing ranger. A big recommendation is to read the first book in the series before this one because this picks up right up. Again we are led on an adventure that drew me in where I did not want to put this down. There is a lot of world and character development but it is presented clearly and in an entertaining way. I did not feel confused or lost at any time. I really enjoyed the character Night Scream and enjoyed following the journey.

Rise by Via Mari is the second book in the Larussio Legacy series. This is a series that I think should be read in order as it follows the same characters throughout. What can I say except this is another amazing book book from a brilliant author. This has spanned over a few different series and each book just gets better and better. Every time I start one of these books I am drawn in instantly. After reading book one I absolutely could not wait to get my hands on book two. It was exciting and had me hooked! I love these characters completely. They are so strong and really carry this whole book forward. This is another fantastic book and I cannot wait for the next one.

This is the second book in this series, I enjoyed it as much as the first. I highly suggest reading the first one as well to enhance your enjoyment of the characters. This is a paranormal romance story that brings humor and sassy characters. Sophie is determined to be a witch but her problem is she can’t seem to cast spells. Her other problem is that she was bitten by a steamy werewolf. Will she be able to figure out her magic to stop her from becoming a werewolf? I enjoyed these characters. They brought the story to life for me and kept me turning pages until the end. A great story that made me laugh through most of the story. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This story is a quaint little story that I found interesting. The plot line is engaging. I found myself right there with Kat. I can understand where she is coming from. I like to dig deep and get to know people who I find interesting. Matt tries to keep to himself. He has no need for the spotlight. Kat and Matt have secrets that they want behind that closet door. What will Matt and Kat do to keep their secrets from coming out? This is a great love story and I recommend you pick it up to see if Kat and Matt get together.

This story is set in the future, in 3034 to be exact. It takes place in Vienna Austria. I have never been there, but I could imagine it quite clearly with Bree Lewandowski’s descriptive text. The story is considered a dystopian romance book. I love the characters in this book. It makes it come alive. I felt like I was right there with Thea going through everything with her. Thea is one strong cookie. She can hold her own. I would not mess with her at all. I recommend this story. I think you will enjoy the journey with Thea as I did.

This story was fast moving full of action. It is in the genre of YA but do not let that sway you away from this book. It is full of people with special powers. As Lance becomes involved in warring families alongside friend Megan, he must find the hero inside himself and discover whether, “he rules the sword, or does the sword rule him?”. This is an exciting and gripping read which had me hooked from page one. A great mix of legend, myth, the supernatural and drama it is a fast paced page turner. Black Blade is a unique twist on the legend of Excalibur and I liked Lance’s character, the unlikely hero who here’s the sword calling to him. This book took me on a great adventure along with Lance and it is wonderfully written. I was immersed in the supernatural world below London thanks to Charalambides great world building. I found it was an exciting and fun read.

Hero High, Denial, by Mina Chara is a wonderful superhero story. This story is fast paced, action packed, and full of sass all the way through! From the first page you’re thrown into it, and it keeps you until you’ve read the whole book! I look forward to starting the second installment in the Hero High Series, Anger. I loved Mina’s writing style and I can’t wait to dive back into the world of Hero High!

Lance is a hero who does his best to survive high school, especially in a world that doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. When his school receives a donation from an anonymous millionaire, Lance and his friend Megan, embark on an international trip to England.
Here, they will find a hand, bearing a sword, appears in a toilet bowl. From then on Lance knows he was the one to employ it. So, he has been called on a Quest with three Wizards named Albrecht, Reinhardt and Kendrick, along with Megan to safeguard Excalibur. Lance must also keep his friends safe from the army of magical soldiers.
Black Blade is a well written story and has everything from action to paranormal and was very enjoyable to read. It is a modern day story of Excalibur and a wonderful twist on the fairytale, where Lance, Megan and the wizards are all on a treasure hunt.
This is a really enjoyable book and would really recommend. It is full of twist and turns with fantasy, adventure and amazing characters. Looking forward to reading more from the author.

In the last book, we saw Night Scream collect blood debts for jaw for the Dogs Clan. Then when fellow ranger Warhold disappeared, Scream searched for answers to find him.
There he found lost survivors of the destroyed Ravens Clan. We meet up again with Night scream where he continues his hunt for his missing fellow ranger. This will force him into unknown territory in search of the killers.
This picks up right where we left off from the first book and we follow Night Scream’s journey. Again, the story is very well written, everything is perfectly detailed and as soon as I picked up the book I was totally engrossed. The characters are great, there is everything from suspense, danger, action and drama.
Would definitely recommend and looking forward to more.

Again another really enjoyable book from this author, I really enjoyed the first book so I was looking forward to seeing what the author had to offer in his second instalment and again I was transported to a fantasy land where the writing was richly and vividly detailed. This book picks up where book 1 ended so I definitely recommend they are read in order. I really enjoyed the pace of this story it was quite fast but not too fast that I got lost; my attention was kept from beginning to end. Again the character development was a huge strength for this book, they are well thought out and planned. There were some good plot twists and I liked the story didn’t really go as I thought it would – definitely kept me on my toes! A fantastic 4 star read that I highly recommend!

All The Wrong Reasons (Serendipity Falls Novel Book 1) by Erin Bevan. This is such a good book. Its the story of Christian School teacher Alexandra ( Alex) Mills and self made businessman Max Buchanan who have been friends since they were 7 years old. Max was poor and his parents dumped him at the fire station when he was a baby. He was adopted by a nice couple but the dad soon ran off leaving him with his mom. His mom has since died but Alex and Max remain the best of friends and have each others backs at all cost. Max is somewhat of a playboy and Alex is a good girl but when Alex makes a mistake and Max offers to fix it for her will she realize she really loves him or will she let her head mess it all up? Max has always wanted Alex but he never thought he was good enough now he is trying to prove to her he will do whatever it takes to have her! Sweet steamy romance!
Denial is the first book in the Hero High series by Mina Chara. I haven’t read her work before, but I enjoyed this book. At first I thought it was going to be cheesy because of the names of the city and characters. They were not very original, using names like Super Structure, Hero High, and Captain Fantastic. Despite that, I am glad I stuck out the story because I ended up loving it. Its a great start to a series that I think will be awesome. The writing style is very descriptive and you feel like you’re right there alongside the characters. It seems like The Incredibles meets XMen, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. The book follows 17 year old Friday, who has powers. She is shipped off to Hero High, which is a school for those with powers, but doubles as a reality show. They are followed by cameras, and merchandise is made to look like them and sold in the malls. These super kids are assigned a team and a mentor, have their wardrobes picked for them, the whole nine yards. Friday is trying to stay in the shadows, but keeps finding herself in the spotlight.

Read Between the Lines is one of those books that will pull you in from the beginning and take you on a wonderful ride. Kat and Matt are amazing characters that I found myself falling in love with. They are both strong characters that are faced with real-life problems that must be addressed before they can become something more than friends. Also, the secondary characters in this book are awesome, too! Kat is successful in the media world and Matt is building his own medical career. They are both ambitious in their public lives while battling secrets in their personal lives. However, when these secrets come to light, can they worth through them or is that the end of whatever they have been building? (You’re going to have to read it to find out!) I really enjoyed the way this author dealt with real-life issues and in a way that didn’t make light of them nor pass over them as if they aren’t a big deal. These topics are relevant in today’s world and I really enjoyed the way they were handled. This is the first book that I have read by Belinda Williams, but I know it won’t be the last.
