Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Michelle Austin

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3)Auctioned by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was pulled in right from the beginning. Damian has been hired to find the niece of a Torzial. There is something about this girl that has Damian’s attention.

Bryanna was taken and her loved ones are being threatened if she doesn’t go along with what her captors want. Will Damian be able to save her? Will he keep his dominant side at bay or will he make her submit?

Overall this was a great read. We get suspense, steamy scenes, and so much more. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. This book can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading from the beginning. The author does a great job with her writing, you feel like you are right there with the characters. I look forward to reading more from this author and series.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Liz Vrchota

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1)Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a fun evening read! I have had the pleasure of reading some other novels by Nikki Lynn Barrett but this little gem has to be my favorite yet. This is one ghost story you will not want to miss out on. We get the story of Scott, a man who died three years ago. He may have only been dead for ten minutes but those ten minutes forever changed his life. He now sees ghosts, but a particular one, a woman in a blood stained wedding gown, really calls to him. He ends up naming her Zelda after the game because hello it’s cool, and he is determined to figure her out. Zelda can see Scott, but she doesn’t even remember who she is, no memories to be found. These two characters suck you in and will make you fall in love with them. I couldn’t put this sucker down and I sure hope we get new stories like this in the near future from Nikki Lynn Barrett.

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Book 3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was so very excited for this book. Forged by Secrets is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops Series from Amy McKinley, and probably my fav so far, hard reach since I have loved this series so much. These books could be read as standalones I am sure if you want to but I think these really are enjoyed best in order. This one is another breath-holder, and highly intense read with all the goodies one who loves a military romance with heat would want to find. The best part of these books is the thrill and suspense that keeps you slightly on the edge of your seat hoping for the best outcome the entire read. This brings us the story of Malina and Tyler, who you will absolutely fall for and find yourself cheering them on the whole time. Will they get through the storms and find a happily ever after?

I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind. The way she writes these characters they feel like they are your friends. This is the third book to the very addictive Deadly Isles Special Ops series. You can read this as a stand alone but there are some previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately and I could not put it down until the end. It only took me a few hours to read this amazing book.

Malina is an analyst for the Seals and she loves what she does. She takes her job very seriously. Malina just can’t get this man out of her head. She knows he is wrong for her but Tyler is always in the back of her mind. Malina finds herself running from people she thought she trusted. She can only go to one man that can help her and that’s Tyler. Malina was set up by one of her own but who? Will Malina find out who set her up or will they find her first?

Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies)Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a quick read…but it was a good story.
Stone is a horse trainer with a bit of womanizing past. But his world is turned upside down by his sister and now he will have to figure out what is really important in his life.
Emmy has recently moved back to her hometown to open up her own practice. She has seen Stone (and likes what she sees), but she is focused on her business. When she finds Stone’s at her grandfather’s, she may have a change one her outlook as to what is important in life.
This fast read packs quite a story. I loved both of the characters. There was enough depth to keep me engaged…and enough drama to keep me turning the pages. There are ups and downs…but the story is quite good. I don’t want to give anything away…so go read it!

This is a Romantic Comedy novel and is 435 pages. This story follows Willow, the hot mess. One night she gets drunk and ends up with four different phone numbers and not a very good memory of what happened that night. Willow’s friend convinces her to dump her lazy boyfriend and go on the search for her “forever”. Willow has a history of wrong guys, until she meets Gun. Instant sparks, but then she learns about Sophie. This story has the perfect amount of romance, comedy, and drama. I think my favorite was the pet blind raccoon – hilarious!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW What a fantastic read…i was on the edge of my seat the whole time and just could not put it down!

The leading lady of this story , Bryanna, is dragged into a dangerous and volatile situation in order to protect her family who she cares very deeply about. Along comes seriously dominant and deadly gorgeous Damian to find and rescue her. This is so not in her plans when she has her family to protect. Immediately Damian is not only wanting to protect Bryanna for the sake of his job but also because of his instant attraction to her. Bryannas very obvious submissive side calls to her brave protector.

i think the fact that there were times when i wanted to bop the main characters Damian and Bryanna up side the head for not just talking to each other, shows how creatively the wonderful Author Via Mari formed her characters to make us care about them. They have heart and depth that just makes you want to keep reading. The book presents both characters sides of the story all the way through giving us much better insight into the various situations that come along.

you will walk away from this book with a happy, full heart and begging for more.

This is not what I expected, but it did exceed all my expectations. I don’t even have the words to express all the feelings this story had me going through. As soon as I started reading this book I was completely engaged and I couldn’t put it down. I was on the edge of my seat through most of this story as it took me through sadness, addiction, anger, suspense, hope and more sadness. This is the first book I have read by this author but it will definitely not be my last. I don’t want to give anything away but I will say that this is a must read and I highly recommend this emotional story.

Daisy’s Darkness is the sixth book in the Wheels and Hogs series by D.M. Earl. This is the first book I have read in this series, so it can be read as a standalone, but I think I will go back and read the rest of this series. This book tackled some serious current issues going on today. I think the author did a really good job bringing bullying, eating disorders, mental and physical abuse, depression, cutting and suicide. It was a read that had me reaching for the tissue box from beginning to end. The emotional roller coaster was hard to handle, but the subjects need to be discussed out in the open to those who are lost in the darkness. I would definitely recommend this book, it brings today’s issues to light. It may help both those going through these issues, but it may also show those close to someone what to look for in the darkness.

Book 3

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Be prepared to read this full length novel. You will read about a romance built from a horrible crime. Let the bodyguards do their job! Not for those under 18, due to adult content.

This is Bryanna and Damian’s story. While Bryanna is strong and independent she finds herself in trouble. She will try to save herself while protecting her niece, nephew and mother. But we all know things can not be right when a young girl is kidnapped. Damian is a bodyguard who is assigned to find Bryanna and get her back. So if I tell you anymore, it will not let you read what I just read.

Via Mari has done it again. You are about to read this extremely intense romance. It will be one you won’t soon forget. I love the characters and their strength. This fast paced romance leaves nothing out. You will have suspense, romance, and a crime ring that needs to be stopped. Be prepared to have your emotions played with. I cried, got mad and cheered for the hero’s in this story. Please start on book 1. Get to know the rest of the bodyguards. This is a MUST READ SERIES. Well done Via Mari! Well Done!

Liam is sixteen and everyone and everything seems to mess with him. He’s like a magnet. I’ve been unlucky and I’ve had bad things happen but Liam is more likely to have them happen than not! It’s almost tragic reading the first part of this story until Kenna saves Liam’s life and things start to change. Imaginative and unlike any other story I have read, I enjoyed this book very much!

Jordan's ShadowJordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“This isn’t about love, like, lust or a happily ever after…” – I read that and thought “okay, there’d be speed bumps, sharp curves and stoplights along the way- but the boy gets the girl. Typical happy ending”. T.R. Cupak took my expectations and predictions and tossed them out the window. This novel is raw, creative, authentically crafted-and wrenches every drop of emotion from you. I experienced a kaleidoscope of emotions, I was angry, sad, happy and craved revenge just as much as Hunter. Jordan’s Shadow is not just your typical novel- it is not. Jordan’s Shadow is one of those stories that you didn’t know you wanted to read- but in the end, it’s the story you know you needed. The characters grow on you, they crawl in your heart and stay there. T.R. highlights the beauty evident in brokenness; the commitment that accompanies love. I literally cannot stop raving about this book- it’s captivating, gut-wrenching, unpredictable and a page-turner. A TOTAL MUST READ.

I was already hooked (pun fully intended) on this series when I got to this book. I LOVE this series. Wolf’s story incorporates everyone we’ve already met and takes us down his tale ( I really wanted to spell it tail 😉 I’m cheesy but I know good books) and who he meets to change his story. This combines the big bad wolf with beauty and the beast. It’s the best untold story and rendition I’ve read in a long time. I really hope Suzanna Lynn doesn’t get tired of doing these because they rock! Read from the beginning and enjoy!

Kissing the Kavalier by Annette Nauraine – Review by Kayla Octaviano

Kissing the KavalierKissing the Kavalier by Annette Nauraine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Kissing the Kavalier” follows two sisters, Zdenka and Arabella, through the throes of society. Arabella needs to find a rich husband who she hopefully loves, or will grow to love, to save her family from their impending homelessness. Zdenka must help by dressing as a boy to escort her sister to all the events of the season. Along the way, these women run into a man named Matteo, a soldier who has been affected by the war, just as many soldiers seem to be. He’s an honorable man that doubts the honor of his past. As friendships build, lovers fall and all is lost. But can it be found? Together, these characters figure out what love can make you do, how far it will take you, and how it is needed for forgiveness. This story is full of love and pain that finds an equal balance, but at what risk? Soldiers are highlighted in this book, but as are women’s rights and independence. Read this book if you love romance and the pain people must go through to get it.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Every now and then I want to read a small town, rainbows and butterflies type romance novel but when I want to read a pulse racing, steamy story with substance, I seek out Via Mari. Auctioned is book three in the Billionaire Bodyguards series and it is captivating from the start. Much like I’ve come to expect from a Via Mari novel, the storyline is just intense enough to grab your attention (and keep it) without losing you in all the moving parts. I enjoy this series because there are familiar characters I’ve met over time in Via Mari’s writing but if you’re just discovering the series, you won’t be lost.
I love the complexity of the characters first and foremost but put Damien and Bryanna together and the chemistry is unmatched! It’s ⅘ stars from me and as always, can’t wait to read more by this author.

Savage is book ten in the Ash Park series. I picked up this series with book nine and have had no problem following the books or the characters. This book pulls you into the story immediately. It is another fantastic story by Meghan O’Flynn that you will not regret reading!

Another journey into the drama of Petrosky. I was really taken down the rabbit hole with this one. The author brings the past and present to a explosive combination. I found that the author has done a great job of bringing the characters to life and bring the drama too boot. I found myself on the edge of my seat on this one.

Petrosky is so so messed up and I really have all the feels for him. He is a great detective but in this book we really see him as I see it really hit rock bottom. I really like how the author is able to bring his past into this and things seem to come full circle and I hope this is the beginning of healing for the main character Petrosky but only time will tell. This being not my go to genre has really had me out of my comfort zone. I have to admit that the series does get very dark but the author has a refreshing style that brings things to a head and brings a bit off silver lining to the darkness. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

Ocean’s Light (Blood of the Pirate BOOK 1) by Mina Chara – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

The Ocean's LightThe Ocean’s Light by Mina Chara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Ocean’s Light is the first book in Mina Chara’s Blood of the Pirate series. I’ve enjoyed reading Chara’s Hero High series and have often contemplated running away and becoming a pirate so was eager to get into this new series.
Evie is a cool protagonist. She gives up a secure, if uninteresting life to follow a treasure map that’s all she has left of her parents. Intelligent and determined, often to the point of recklessness, she’s met her match in the resourceful pirates and captivating mystery that surround her and her mission.
This is a great book for teen and young adult readers who enjoy pirates and action, with fantasy elements and puzzling mysteries. It’s got plenty to engage and entertain, with a loveable, if rough, crew of characters.
For me, this is a five-star book. I’m looking forward to reading more of the series!

Jordan's ShadowJordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One night can change your whole path of your life, but will a strange help you crawl out of the darkness or push you further down the rabbit hole.

Jordan has had a traumatic history and this has sent her hurtling into the darkest realms of life, with her addictions of Alcohol and drugs numbing the memories but will she ever be able to come out into the light.

Hunter aka The Shadow is infatuated by her, her believes he is Jordan’s protector but underneath he is hiding a secret that if Jordan finds out may send her further into the darkness and there will be no way out.

I have to warn you this is not a romance with all the feels of flutters in the stomach and happiness, no this is a dark, dark story and will draw you in with tears and heartbreak. This story broke me, this is the first book I have read by this author and thought that they wrote an honesty and dramatic account of the initial attack and then the subsequent years after that really affected how she lived her life.

I liked that they were both scarred by something that happened in there past and are drawn to each other to try and resolve the sadness which both have but intertwined with happiness. I can’t wait to read more books by this author and I hope you enjoy this story but be warned you will need tissues.

It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and kept me engaged throughout. It is well developed where you feel as if the story is realistic. The characters are relatable and really made the story for me. This is a story about Titana is a fae who has lost her brothers and is about to take the throne. There is evil looming and a darkness that could leave them all damned. What happens next you don’t want to miss. It is a story full of magic and action. This is a story that pulled me in from the beginning by the author’s attention to details. The story has a realistic feel and the characters bring the story to life. Jake is back in another suspenseful story. In this story, he plans on attending a wedding in Key West what he doesn’t expect is that someone has a plan to kill the wedding couple. Will he and Cody be able to find this killer before he executes his plan? I really enjoyed this story and what the characters bring to the story. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Daisy's Darkness (Wheels & Hogs #6)Daisy’s Darkness by D.M. Earl
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When you are at the lowest part of your life, can you recover or will the darkness take you away.

Daisy is a girl who’s not really a cool or popular kid but has a cool group of friends who they can talk openly to each other and give each other the support they require to navigate High School, until Daisy finds herself swallowed up the darkness of her own world and feels that there is no-one who can help her.

Her life gets even worst when her brother starts dating one of her tormentors and thus cutting her off from her family completely. All Griffin can see that there is something not quite right with Daisy but can his friendship with her help her come to terms with the vicious circle which has become her life.

This story broke my heart, the subject matter may be difficult to read but it was written with dignity and a true understanding of the troubles that this character portraited. The sheer hopelessness that this character felt towards the end not being able to even confide within the family dynamic and have to hold everything in was gut wrenching to read. I hope if young girls read this story and are going through the same things have comfort and the strength to ask for help and be like Daisy in the end when she get helps from her loving family and friends.

The story was well written and the characters where brilliantly written. This is the first book I have read in this series and I believe this can be read as a stand alone story but I have downloaded the other books in this series to read as I really enjoyed this story and wanted to read more about these wonderful characters.

Amy’s Santa: Satan’s Devils MC (Second Generation) is the first in a new series expanding the world of the Tuscon, Arizona MC by Manda Mellett. I really enjoyed this telling of Amy and Drew (Wizard) finding their way back to each other.

Amy is Heart’s daughter and first met Drew when she was just 5 years old. They became fast friends even though Drew is 10 years older than Amy. When Amy got older and started to transition into a woman their paths separated. They each lost a friend and possubly even more.

After Amy left the compound to go to school and forge ahead in her life, Drew (Wizard) devoted himself to the MC and quickly climbed the ranks.

Even though Amy didn’t really want to come back for Christmas this year, she knew it would be more suspicious if she didn’t come back. So when she finds herself in the middle of the normal Christmas time festivities her father interveens and maybe, just maybe Amy’s life is about to shift onto a different course.

I really enjoyed the Arizona Satan’s Devils MC and cannot wait for more!
