This was a thrilling 5 star read. Madeline is worried when she gets a call to go to her fathers assisted living residence. She is surprised to find out that she is needed for a case. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next and who the mystery person was. As Madeline works through the case will she solve it before anyone gets hurt? I felt like there were several stories going on, it was great. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I look forward to reading more from her and this series. 1- click and get started today.

What an exciting conclusion to The Crown of Stones Series! Magic Borne is just as mesmerizing as the first two books in the series. C. L. Schneider pulls the reader in with amazing world-building, realistically flawed characters, and endless emotions and twists and turns. From the beginning of his journey, Ian Troy has intrigued me, infuriated me, and ensnared me in his web of magic. All of the books in this series are not for the faint of heart or for those looking for a short fantasy story. They are lengthy, but grab your attention and hold on tight until the very end! C. L. Schneider creates a world of emotion that is difficult to escape. The characters are unique in that I often found myself upset at something or “hero” did and found myself sympathizing with the “enemy.” That is a truly new perspective for me and any of the books I have read in my life. Often, books are more black and white, while real life rarely is. However, Schneider has created such realism in her writing that it mimics real life’s shades of darkness and light.

REIGN: The Rise of the Lich is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight Series by Carol McKibben. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to discover this author, because after reading this book I now realise that I have seriously been missing out. But I do wish that I had paid more attention when I purchased this and realised that it is the second book in the series. Because I think if I had read the first book before embarking on this adventure, it would have elevated my reading experience even more. So, I will definitely be going back to read ‘REIGN: The Assault of Lucifer Morningstar’ before continuing on with the rest of the series. This is an engrossing urban fantasy, with plenty of action, adventure, danger, dramatic developments, shifter hybrids, wizards, magic, Lycans, paranormal beings, high stakes, sinister agendas, politics, corruption, good vs evil, and the very fate of humanity and the world hanging in the balance. Let’s be honest though, Ms. McKibben already had me at ‘God’s own appointed knight’ and ‘hybrid vampire wolf’…… everything else was just a bonus from there. Can’t wait to explore the rest of the series. Happy Reading….

I love this series! Book 3 did not disappoint! The Innovator made me intrigued of what’s to come. There’s been drama, action, and romance in all the books so far, but it’s starting to peak in book 3. The author wrote a wonderful story about the romance of 2 people, but also the collective danger lurking in the wings for all the characters throughout these books. Book 3 is Grayson and Natalie’s story. Which definitely didn’t start off on the best foot. They argued and got under each other’s skin, at the same time those arguments made them more interested in the other. Natalie is in Providence trying to find out why her father died and why he left her a building. Under an alias she gets a job at the Department of Public Works and Parks to see if she can dig up any info she can on The Prism. Not that it led her to anything but Grayson. Grayson is trying to get his Three Point Park Project off the ground. One problem he needs to get his hands on The Prism building. The other problem is a beautiful blonde(Natalie) who just gets under his skin but he loves to argue with. It’s a constant game of cat and mouse between these two. Until a bet is placed between them. That bet goes hand and hand with their attraction to one another. But what happens when they end up at The Fortress together. A getaway retreat where they are the only two occupying the space. Do they succumb to their desires? What happens when Natalie is threatened by her ex? Does Grayson come to the rescue? What about the never ending threats to Grayson and his friends? They saw something when they were teenagers that could threaten their lives and of those they love even now. Can Natalie and Grayson weather that storm? So much going on and so many questions that come to mind. I’ll reiterate that the author wrote a wonderful story. A story that could be read as a standalone novel because of the romance, however it’s not recommended due to the drama and action. These books are all connected. Each one may focus on a different set of characters but it also focuses on the group of guys as a whole. You will have so many more questions if you don’t start at the beginning. So it’s time. You need to either start this series, trust me you won’t regret it. Or it’s time to jump into book 3 because you read books 1 & 2. The decision is yours!

C. L. Schneider delivers again with Magic Scars, the second book in The Crown of Stones Series! The same memorable, imaginative, wonderfully flawed characters are present in this book. If possible, this book had me more emotionally invested, but also more exhausted. The intensity of the feelings in this book are stronger, the need to triumph more urgent. The vividly detailed world-building is built upon in this second book, and expanded upon. I found myself picturing the countryside, the mountains, the battles. This is such a great book and I cannot wait for the next one!

This was an amazing way to spend my 33rd birthday. This is the was the first book I have read by the incredible Carol McKibben. Before this book I had never heard of her and was amazed by the amount of emotion I felt for the characters from the first page. Yes, this is the second book in this series, but it does not take away from the story. I didn’t read the first book before this one and didn’t feel that I was missing any information or details that would lessen the impact of the overall plot of this book. The book starts with Reign having a vision, watching as the ritual that turned the president of Italy into a Lich. With his kindred Reign, James, Adam, and the Moretti brothers have been anointed by God as his warriors, to protect the Earth from evil. After a run in with several creatures from Greek mythology, the group begin to form a plan on how to rid Rome of the terror that is the Lich. The way the author combines so many different elements together to make one cohesive world is inspiring. Flowing nature like water from one instant to the next, the book has a seamless forward movement that doesn’t keep you waiting too long for answers. While also incorporating the main plot for the third book into the middle of the second book that keeps circling in the current goal as a mystery to handle next, after the lich is gone. Will the group succeed in ending the Lich’s reign over Rome? Can they all make it out of the battle alive? What will happen to Zander? The author truly knows how to entrance the reader, you start the book and before you realize it you finish it craving more. I am beyond excited for the next book in The Silver Blood Series, Reign and the Evil Plagues. In the meantime, I will be going back and reading book one in the series. Also, as this was my first experience with this author, I didn’t know that she was known as the author who writes from a dog’s eyes. With that said the entire book I loved reading the little unconscious actions of Reign, such as randomly standing and spinning in circles mid conversation before returning to his place, never missing a moment.

C. L. Schneider delivers with this dark fantasy! What an amazing beginning to a series. Magic Price, the first installment in The Crown of Stones Series, is full of vivid detail, gloriously flawed characters, and such an imaginative, contradictory (to popular lore) take on magical beings. This complex, well-written story introduces the reader to Ian Troy, a Shinree witch, and his traveling companions. Twists and turns abound, but the story isn’t difficult to follow. There is so much information about each of the warring nations, Magic Price almost reads like a history book rather than a fantasy novel. Of the previous books I’ve read by C. L. Schneider, Magic Price tops the list! I cannot wait to read the next book.

The Vassal of Magic is the third instalment in The Virus of Beauty series by C.B. Lyall. It continues the adventure we began back in book one, so I highly recommend reading the first two books before starting on this one, as knowing what has happened in the previous books will definitely enrich your reading experience of this book, and the series as a whole. This fabulous YA urban fantasy series has such a unique, original, and intriguing storyline and wonderful, quirky characters who really make this story come to life. I can see it making a great TV series too, as there is plenty here to love. Woven with lots of action, adventure, magic, witches, wizards, drama, danger, mystery, suspense, tension, friendship, family, politics, and agendas- this story really grabs the imagination. We follow on from the previous two books and Wilf is still grappling with his feelings towards magic. He really just wants to be ‘normal’ and free- but he can’t even manage to utilize the full potential of his magical powers, so he’s feeling stuck. Then there’s the overwhelming sense of responsibility that’s really weighing heavily in his shoulders. Doubts and fear are definitely holding him back. What happens when he discovers a piece of shattered Mages Crystal- you really should read all the intriguing developments for yourself, because Wilf is about to be challenged like never before and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Adventure awaits….. Again, Ms. Lyall’s wonderful world-building and attention to detail created a fully immersive reading experience that held me rapt right from the get-go. I have enjoyed this series immensely, and without giving away any spoilers, with the way this ended it made me hope that there might be many more magical adventures for Wilf (& Co) to come… If you love a richly woven YA fantasy with superb world-building, engrossing storylines, plenty of originality, action, adventure, emotion, and wonderful quirky characters- then this is definitely the book/series for you. Obedience gripped me from the first page and never let go! I absolutely loved every bit of this adventure, and I’m planning on listening to the audiobook for an immersive experience. Trust me, after you read it, you will want all the different variations you can get. There is plenty of tension, especially in the first half of the book, but there is plenty of suspense and steam as well. Cassandra grew up watching and wanting a master aerialist named Chandler. What she didn’t know was that she would get the chance to fly with him…among other things. Chandler was always looking for someone he could relate to and teach his passion of performing acrobatics in the circus. When he finds exactly that in Cassandra, it takes him by surprise when he falls so deeply for her. Will they bend with the pressure, or will they break from their dark history? I can’t believe I have to wait another 6 months for book two because I am fiending for it already! I highly recommend picking this up and reading (or listening!) because it is absolutely amazing!

OMG!! I thought the first two books had me hooked but damn this one REALLY kept me turning page after page and ignoring everything else around me! Sorry family LOL. I had to see how it would all turn out. I really went on a far more emotional rollercoaster then I would have initially expected from a Fantasy series. This author truly is AMAZING, creating characters, storylines and worlds that weave into your heart in totally unexpected ways. This should not be read as a standalone. You MUST start from the beginning of the series to fully enjoy this captivating, action packed world. You wont be disappointed in any way! Ian you will always hold a small piece of my heart.

I was so excited to get to finish this amazing series! The journey that Wilf has traveled, mostly against his will, is thrilling and will keep you turning until the final page. The author did a great job of creating realistic characters and relationships within a fantasy novel about magic. This is definitely a series you want to start at the beginning with, and you definitely won’t be disappointed when you get to this conclusion. This is an action packed adventure series full of magic, love, friendships, and family. Seeing Wilf grow into the strong person he becomes, as well as the rest of the characters as they learn to work together to save magic. I absolutely adored this series and I highly recommend it.

I said it with the first Book and I will say it again I was completely hooked from start to finish! In fact I think this book had me even more hooked because i literally could not put it down. Again I don’t want to go into too much detail about storyline as I don’t want to give too much away but I will say we see Ian again after 2 years of being drugged, tortured and imprisoned. How quickly and completely this author gets me so fully immersed in this world is truly amazing. I could so easily imagine everything that was happening and envision it so clearly thanks to the fantastic writing of this author. I am not wasting a single minute before moving on to book 3.

This was a wonderful conclusion to a fantastic series. The author continues to do a great job of writing characters that feel so relatable, even in a world of magic. The author continues with a roller coaster of action and adventure. I loved how detailed and descriptive the story was, you really feel like you are there with the characters. I loved Ian and how he persevered through all of his trials and the strength he showed. This story will absolutely tug at your heart and keep you enthralled until the last page. This book has so much action and suspense and kept me turning the pages late into the night. There is so much history written in such vivid detail that it makes you think it is real and not fantasy. After three books I love the characters, Ian, Jarryd, and Malaq are the main trio and they fight and love and tease each other. Ian has to fight to stop his father, has to fight to figure out the Crown of Stones, has to fight to keep all the people around him safe. He often makes the wrong choice and bad decisions, but he overall wants to do good so you find yourself cheering for him. I love the magic in the series too, using stones to have powers. Ian is an erudite so he can do all, most people only have one magical ability. The description and thought that goes into the magical part of these books are amazing. This book is suspense, danger, steamy romance, and so much more. It was an epic ending to an epic series. As the third and final book in the series, I didn’t want it to end, so I was excited to see there are more books set in the same world!

This is the first book in this series by this truly talented author and I am telling you now I can’t wait for more. I was completely hooked from start to finish! I don’t want to go into too much detail about storyline as I don’t want to give too much away so I will just say that it is such an intricately woven and creative storyline, so packed full of action that you will not be able to resist turning page after page! I felt so fully immersed in this world. I truly could imagine everything that was happening and envision it so clearly thanks to the fantastic writing of this author. Another great book in this already great series. I have loved the Madeline Dawkins series since the beginning and every book I read is just as good as the last. This author knows how to keep me entertained and on the edge of my seat. This book can be read as a standalone without any issues but I recommend reading the rest of them because they are excellent stories. The world building in the second book was just as good as the first! The places the characters go are so well thought out and described, I feel like I was right there with the characters. The castles, the prison, the ancient cities are all vividly written. I like that this book is told in the first person so you really get to know the main character, Ian Troy, even better in this one. Ian is coming off of the drug used to keep his magic suppressed and is having a lot of flashbacks to his time before being in prison and since then, it fills in holes in the story well. I really liked Captain Krillos in this book and the banter that he has with Ian. There were many of the same characters from the first book with even more added in this one. The story line is soooo good and kept me up late into the night reading so I could see what happened next. There is action, magic, death, romance, and so much more. I can’t wait to read the next book!

This third book in the series was even more interesting than the first two! Not all series maintain the momentum throughout the entire series. Not once did I lose interest reading this series. I love the friendship that Tristan and Harry have. Harry is such an in depth character and is very well written. I love that you get to know his back story even more and he discovers more of himself. I really enjoyed the suspense of not knowing where the author would take us especially when a new character is introduced. Things definitely take some unexpected turns but they really made the story! I look forward to reading more from this author!

I absolutely LOVED this conclusion to the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy! Mitch and Lauren are such wonderful characters and you will feel every step they take along this emotion filled journey right along with them. I swear this amazingly talented author just gets better and better with every book written. I truly couldn’t put this down because I had to know what was going to happen but then of course at the end I was sad to say goodbye! I highly recommend reading the entire trilogy to fully understand and enjoy all the characters and every element of the storyline.

Dawnbreaker: The House of Blood and Sun by Hadley Thorne. This is a great urban fantasy romance in the Tapestry of Worlds series. This book is full of mystery, love, romance and intrigue. It follows Niamh, the Sidhe Princess while she is trying to figure out her power, her love life and her powers. As she learns that she is a female in a mostly male world its hard to find her place. Enter Connor the vampire full of hate and rage who is wanting to do his own thing. When they meet they connect because they both fill trapped. When Niamh is in terrible danger Connor vows to find her and help her remember who she is. All the while they have enemies that are trying to kill them and destroy all they stand for. This is a great installment and be prepared to flip pages late in the night. You won’t want to put it down. Can’t wait for the next book!

I love the title, I’m a tea and murder mystery addict so a play on that already had me amused. I was right to choose this book as the first page had me invested in Naomi and Ella’s lives. I enjoyed the way that Naomi was written, her thoughts felt genuine and realistic and then her interactions with her daughter within the first page already amused me.
Naomi and Ella are great characters, funny and clever. They felt real to me, the kind of people I’d happily spend an afternoon with – and that’s how it felt reading this. I enjoyed being able to find them relatable, not only in the way they were written, but also in the issues they faced and obstacles to overcome outside of the murder. They’re up there in my favourite crime sleuths list!
Naomi and Ella are great, however they aren’t the only fun characters in this story. The book is filled with great characters, another two fun characters are the neighbours Barbara and Ingrid the tea drinking gossips – I absolutely loved their energy and they reminded me of a couple of friends.
This was such a fun and easy read that I would happily re-read, it was enjoyable and I got completely lost in it. I think I might have found my new favourite comfort series. With all the fun characters, investigating and (most importantly) tea, I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2!

This volume of poetry is quite interesting. Having recently completed a unit of poetry with my high school students, I was happy to come across this gem. The rich vocabulary is evocative. The rhythm is very musical. The rhyme schemes are pleasing to the ear, whether read aloud or silently. The author refers often to pop culture, and the poems are steeped in musical history, both of which serve to engage the reader.

I have read a few books by this author and I really highly recommend them as they are great way for kids to read and learn. This author is brilliant at combining science and other subjects into a form that kids will not only enjoy but learn by as well. I really like how the author is able to engage the reader and bring the skills form. This is such a great educational tool and I just wish my children were young enough. I cannot stress enough how great this author’s style and prose is.

As a mom of more than one kiddo with autism (their choice to be addressed person first), I am thankful for this book. I have a son that is limited verbally like Emerson and also self-harms. Though they are not the same person, it was beautiful to see inside her mind. This book shows exactly what I have been trying to help others understand for quite some time; just because words are not there verbally doesn’t mean that person can’t or doesn’t want to communicate!
This is a journey of navigating through life, family, friendships, treatments and education. Though no two people are the same, this is enlightening to the struggles that can be faced to simply live life day to day. My heart went through so many emotions reading this story, I felt each and every situation with Emerson. I am so thankful for the sharing of her story.
This is an excellent read for young scientists that love trying new “experiments”! My son wanted to try every example given in the story of how magnets work. Luckily I had some on hand for him to play and explore with. We didn’t get to try ALL the examples, but he had a blast with hands-on learning to accompany this engaging and informational story! As always, the illustrations bring the story to life! There is even a short science lesson included at the end. So excited for another fabulous educational and fun read!

What a Ride! This is an amazing story! I really enjoy paranormal/fantasy stories as the author create different worlds, lasting friendships and the creatures are marvelous. In her the author did a stand up job giving me all three. Connor and Niamh are the stars and we basically follow them on their journey to possibly greater things. The road traveled is a tough one filled with potholes but watching them figure out how to overcome is what is wonderful.
There are a slew of different characters we get to meet. There is fae, human, vampires and demon as well as different courts. They all have varying skillsets which we find out as the story goes along. One of my favorite is the spirit that lives within the house called Silpha. It doesn’t speak and you can’t see it but the way it lets you know it approves is so cool! Very creative!
Overall it is a great story! Filled with triumphs and tribulations. I hope there is more as a few loose ends were left dangling.

This is the 3rd book in The Traveler Series. Although this book could be read on its own I highly recommend you read the first 2 books so that you get a complete picture about who Harry is and his place in our world. This is a sci-fi fantasy adventure revolving around Harry and his adventures. Harry is a Traveler, he is an ancient being who has lived thousands of lifetimes in one form or other. Everytime he wake he is in a different form and has new challenges to face. In this story he is reunited Tristan. We see the bond between Harry and Tristan grow but as well as the relationships Harry had growing stronger there is also a danger out there and this danger puts Harry’s entire existence in jeopody. This is a fast paced adventure that I couldn’t put down. I loved reading as Harry learns about new things such as music and phones his sense of wonder was amazing. The author does a great job of weaving time travel, adventure, and danger into the story. One thing I loved it that it isn’t a story that you read and know nothing like that could ever happen. Harry’s character is so believeable that I found myself wondering if such ancient souls could exist and survive in our world?
