I got this book for my nieces who are 9 and 11. Each of us really enjoyed the storyline and characters. My nieces took turns reading and both had an easy time really getting into the story. Some times kids can be easily distracted and my nieces are this way a lot of the time but once they started this book they kept wanting to keep going. I loved to take away from the story I believe it hit close to home with my oldest niece. I’m a huge fan of a story that can entertain but also teach kids a valuable lesson. My nieces were asking for more books after this one so I’ll definitely take that as a win. We all agreed it’s a five star story.

This was an amazing magical fairy tale of a story. It was very well written, very well written and very thought out. This book was amazingly written that it painted a picture in your head and made you believe that you were right there watching everything unfold. This book is for all ages to read like a Cinderella story but with a little twist with the dress. Princess Zarina likes to get what she likes and wants, and never takes no for an answer. But this mini journey that she ends up on really makes her realize that things aren’t always what they seem to be, and that she has to learn to, and problem solve for herself. This book will take you on a magical little journey that will have you turning the pages to finding out what happens next.

The story kicks you right in your feelings at the start. A story of taking things for granted and losing your place when you think you are inadequate. As a mother and wife it stirs a lot of things inside you when reading White Picket Fences. Heartbreak and closure in one small book. Guilt ridden, Jules is trying to get her life back together after the tragedy. A great read, that I would recommend not reading in public if you cry easily.

The Princess has a definite idea of the dress she wants in her mind, but struggles to explain it, so when she goes back three days before the gala to celebrate her ascension, she returns to the mystery dressmaker and finds that although the dress is beautiful, it is not what she wanted, it is black! This is such a beautifully written contemporary women’s fiction story. It is wrought with complex family drama. I think that the drama and the emotions are those that many women can really relate to. This looks at the pieces of a puzzle in a marriage, in a family and how many times women struggle to see where they fit. Also, it looks at the point where the person in the mirror is not someone you recognize anymore. The main character throughout this struggles with not knowing herself anymore. She is struggling to see herself and who she is. Things begin to crumble around her and that’s when the story really begins. I definitely cannot recommend this story enough!

This is a brilliant fantasy story that pulls you in and keeps your attention from start to finish. The characters are interesting and compelling and I thought they fit the storyline really well. Each played their part and had something to offer to the story. This is still an unfamiliar author to me and this story certainly makes me want to discover more. I loved the writing style used and how easy it was to connect with the story. I wanted to know more about what was going on and I couldn’t wait to see how things would play out. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to whatever is next.

The Romanov Heiress is a historical fiction story set in an alternate past. We have four Romanov sisters hiding in England in fear for their lives. Olga, the oldest, must do everything to protect them and find the truth in the rumors concerning their mother. Well-researched and thought out, this story gives the Romanov sisters a chance to survive despite the intentions of the Bolsheviks. I have always been fascinated with the stories of the Romanov family. This is an enjoyable and suspenseful read of what could have happened if the girls had escaped. Even though there is so much about the family, this added another layer to the fictional accounts. I enjoyed this book and will be looking for more from this author.

I loved this story!! Fantastic!! This is Book 4 in the War of Destiny Series and while I believe that this book could be read as a standalone, I very highly recommend reading this series in order over all.. you will not be disappointed.
Lane Marlow is a loner, trying to stay safe and has been on the run for a very long time, especially trying to hide from King of the Vampires…Valentino. When Lane meets by chance a female vampire who is totally different than what Lane is used to…does Lane believe he finally found someone that may be in the same corner as Lane? This story is great… danger, action, vampires and battle of good and evil. I so recommend this book and series and I am hoping to more to come!!!

White Picket Fences by Kyle Ann Robertson. I loved this book. I could really relate to it. Its the story of Julie Cahill who is a Army Brat so she knows what its like to move all the time. She knows what its like to not know anyone in school so she was determined not to do that to her kids. While her marriage seems perfect she is left feeling unappreciated and unloved. She is a great mom and she has given her life 100% to her kids so she is left feeling like a stranger with her husband. Clinging to her kids even more after a horrible tragedy she smothers her kids only to cause permanent damage. Will she lose her husband and kids? This book is so full of emotion and tragedy and the life that’s left after that tragedy. Please keep tissues close by and be prepared to read until you are done with this great book.

Normally I don’t read romance, and had some extra time on my hands and picked up The Silent Road. The banter, conversation, and emotions between Jake and Dan what drew me in. I personally didn’t care for the erotic scenes (not my cup of tea), but wanted to keep reading to find out what happens do Dan- if he ends up finding the college money for his daughter and getting his license. Had a soft spot for Dan, for I work with children that have similar reading difficulties such as dyslexia, trying to navigate in a printed world.
The third character in the book was a pet dog, Mimi, which provided comic relief when feelings got too intense. I would love a sequel to figure out what happens to Jake and Dan next!

This was a really interesting read. I really loved this author’s writing. It felt like the author’s writing was describing my life in parts. As a mother I know the feeling of losing yourself when you have kids. You do everything you can to protect and support your kids that in the process you lose yourself and the relationships you had before the kids came along. Julie Cahill has tricky life growing up. She was always on the move never staying for long periods of time in one place she never felt like she was settled or that a place was home. She vowed that her own children wouldn’t grow up that way. Fast forward and her family are dealing with a sudden loss. No parent imagines they will have to bury their child. Now the whole family are dealing with this loss, Julie’s relationship with her husband is suffering and she is trying to hold on tighter to her girls to protect them like she couldn’t protect her son. Julie is battling grief because the one time she did something to rediscover herself was the same day the accident happened and Curtis was taken away from the family. This is a story of love, grief, loss of a loved one and loss of yourself and about rediscovery. It is a very heartwarming and moving story and there is definately parts that I could relate to.
This is the fifth book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone. This book pulled me in from the beginning and I finished it so fast!
Lily is used to people using her for her money and connections. She just wants to find someone to connect with. She offers up a date for a charity auction. The problem: the person she should be meeting doesn’t show up! Is anyone worth the effort at this point? Rhys hasn’t been ready to date and he certainly isn’t about to start with a rockstar. Especially one like Lily. That is until he realizes he may have pegged her wrong. After spending some time together, Rhys and Lily realize they don’t want it to end. What will happen when their feelings are tested?
I really enjoyed this book. It was different than most rockstar tropes I’ve read and it was refreshing. Rhys grew as a character pretty quickly and you could see that change. Their chemistry was very evident! I highly recommend this book!

Isla did an amazing job writing this book. I do recommend that you read Savage Start before this book so you know all about the history between Cole and Riley.
Cole is the man at school. He is rich, good-looking, a star athlete, and part of the elite group. Riley is the girl that has never really called on place home for longer than a few months. She is used to being ready to move at the drop of a hat.
Riley comes back to Santa Monica and the history she left behind with Cole. Can the past be forgotten or will he still hold onto that same grudge? A wonderful book to read. The character development and the storyline were well thought out and executed.
This book is about Cole and Riley. Riley is a girl that is not used to staying in one place for very long. Doctor Frank Enstein (Doctors of Eastport General) is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance that once you start reading there’s no putting it down until you’ve finished. I pretty much devoured this book in one sitting. I’m a huge of this author and have read several books by her but this one definitely tops my favorite yet list. This is Frank and Barbara’s story. Dr. Frank Enstein is a Plastic Surgeon who wants to helpmake a difference in his patients lives. He has the passion but he lacks the proper bedside manner and doesn’t always make a good first impression. Barba just wants to feel normal and hopes Frank can her with that. She’s not impressed with him at firsy but man the chemistry between them sizzles. These two are such well developed characters that make the story come to life. Can Frank help her to feel normal? I highly recommend reading this fast paced story to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Savage Lies is the 2nd book in the Hidden Valley Elite series (It says book 1, but there is a prequel Savage Start, which is worth reading too). I was hooked on this series instantly. Aside from the awkwardness of reading steamy scenes between teenagers, this series is perfect. There is a good mix balance of romance and mystery. Both Riley and Cole are well developed and strong characters. Riley and her mom have a life of baggage and have lived on the run as con=artists for the last 15+ years. Now her mom says they are done and things are different. Riley is having a hard adjustment and is waiting for the other shoe to drop. She has a love hate relationship with her soon to be step brother, literally. The ending was total cliff hanger so on to the next book!!

Notebook Mysteries: Suspicions is the 5th book in the Notebook Mysteries series. It’s set in January 1889, and Emma and her team back to solving mysteries. This can be enjoyed as a standalone, but I think that it would be more beneficial to read 1-4 first. I know I wish I would have. In this book, Emma & the team is busy with multiple cases going on, as well as the return of someone from her past. I really enjoyed reading this book. If you enjoy mystery and historical fiction with a strong female lead, then you will also enjoy this book!

Gwen is a character that I would want to be friends with. Sassy, strong and independent, she’s back and just wants to do her business. I found this to be quite the story. I loved it because it wasn’t your basic cookie cutter. It’s unique, creative and full of paranormal goodies in the story. I love a hot werewolf too. I’ve been naughty. Lock me up. You can feel the intensity of the emotions throughout the story. I found everything so entertaining and intriguing that I stayed up late to finish it. Well worth losing sleep over. I can’t wait to read more. Bring on more of this deliciousness. Listening to this on audio was a treat. The narrator made it even better because her tone and narrating made it sound like she was from down south. It was just made the story even more enjoyable, and I just didn’t think that was possible. The writing is good, the characters are crazy and it has a paranormal flow that you just roll with. I loved it. I had to sit and listen in one sitting.

This was an informative historical fiction read about a time period, family, and historical aspects I have read little about. The author, Jennifer Laam, does an excellent job incorporating factual information with a fictionalized story line of Olga and her family.
The tense and secluded atmosphere the book creates provides tension and tells the “other” side of the story- the more human side- as the four sisters (as well as other characters along the way) try to survive after being smuggled out of Russia during the Romanov era. The emotions and feelings of the characters are enhanced by the descriptions of the settings and daily life the girls (and others) must endure. A 4-and-a-half star read for me!

He doesn’t trust anyone and it’s what’s kept him alive, can he trust Julia and her group of rebels? Will the King catch up to him? Has he finally found a group of people he can rely on.

Oh, my word! What a wonderful, beautiful story! A pampered young woman is betrayed by family and left to fend for herself in a patriarchal world. She learns to do things for herself, and for others. At the same time, she learns to fall in love. Although she falls in love, she still plans to provide for herself and earn her own income. This a lesson for all women, especially modern women of today.

I really enjoyed this story. It portrayed what many mothers/wives go through – how often we give everything of ourselves to our families, friends, jobs and lose a bit of ourself in the process. This story tugged at my heart – I could feel what each character was feeling and just wanted to help make it all better. Julie and Micheal had a great start to their married life – twin girls, a son… but when death takes someone from our life at an unexpected time, it is hard to pretend that things were okay before the death and that they can go on after. The family each has their own grief and guilt to work through… but it is even more than that. It is realizing that letting go, giving space, and finding yourself is what keeps you together.

I normally don’t read vampire romances, but a reading challenge prompted me to broaden my horizons, and I ended up unexpectedly enjoying Dawnbreaker. Chronicling the challenges of Niamh, the author expertly combines a magical world with the real world, and trials and tribulations of standing up to blood family versus a family she loves. Her love and counterpart, released vampire Connor, is likable because of turning his whole live into protecting his true love.
One outstanding feature of the book is Thorne’s ability to succinctly describe even the minor characters in the book, making it feel as you are part of the world Niamh is creating for herself.
My only hope is there is a sequel planned, because I felt the ending was lacking, and very much appears to set up for a sequel. I also enjoyed the author’s inclusion of the music playlist at the end of the book, music being a central theme interwoven throughout the book.

I really enjoyed this fantasy romance. The author does a amazing job with world building and also giving the characters backstories which makes you feel like you have known them for years even though its the first book. I loved the twist of a vampire and a Fae romance but it works and is such a powerful story. They are two people who you wouldn’t think work but fate has other plans for them. Will Niamh be the person to make Connor feel alive again? This isn’t a straightforward romance however with a strained relationship between Niamh and her mum putting pressure and disapproval on their relationship, things take a darker turn when Niamh is taken and her memory lost and she is left in the world of man. Can Connor find her in time and remind her of who she is and what they share? This is a fast paced story which a blossoming romance, danger, folklore and myths. A collection of elements that all work together and make this story a very unique read.
