White Picket Fences by Kyle Ann Robertson was a good story. Sometimes as a mom we lose ourselves along the way. Wanting only the best for our children and always putting them first. But we still matter. This story reminds us that it’s okay to find ourselves again. Grief is difficult and can definitely open your eyes or close them to what’s going on around you. I definitely connected to Julie and truly appreciate how Kyle wrote the story. Being able to feel oneself in a character makes the story that much better. I enjoyed the book and thought it was a wonder debut for this author.

I absolutely loved the third book, and can’t believe I went to book 2, but that still didn’t stop me from understanding what was going on. The characters are very well developed and written that it makes you feel like you are with them every step of the way and know them on a personal level. The worlds are so well written out that its almost like you can reach out and touch everything. The betrayals, conflicts, secrets, action, mystery, intensity of a world trying to be destroyed, while two brothers fight to try and stop it all. this book had so many twists and turns it kept me wanting more and on my toes. This made for an amazing all around read. this was a real page tuner, and I couldn’t stop reading it.

Euphoric Wonderland is a wonderful collection of Ryan M Beckers psychedelic poetry. These poems are inspiring, they make you think about life, peace, love, freedom, happiness. There’s reference to legendary bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd, and a range of poetic techniques used that really make the poems flow which the reader can appreciate. My favourite poem was either ‘Euphoric Rhythm in My Mind: A Voice Inside it Screams to Hyde,’ ‘Dear Beatles,’ or ‘Dactylogram, Your Finger Ran, Quill in Hand, You Then Began.’ I recommend this book because I think this collection is a unique take on poetry and Becker is extremely talented to have created such a big, varied profile in such an original way. I would love to read more of Becker’s poetry to see what else can inspire him. I don’t want to spoil the poems but here are my favourite lines from my three favourite poems: ‘a secret you they thought they knew,’ ‘all the things that I believed weren’t real come alive when I listen to you, like happiness, love, and thoughts about my very existence all at once,’ ‘I don’t know how my thoughts would translate without you.’

The Lone Star Child was a great book. The book had my attention from the very first page. In my opinion, it was a fast paced book. Madeline’s business is doing well and so is her relationship with Mike, working on cases together what could be better, but when she receives a distressed call from her father, she rushes to Monte Verde to see what is going on. Once there she is asked by the Director of the facility to help in a delicate matter of poison pen letters, these letters contain dark secrets which the residents would rather be left under the rock they placed them.
While putting her team to try and locate the mystery poison pen writer, Madeline is then drawn into a case involving a divorce relating to a woman whose husband is intimidating her to give up her right to the matrimonial assets. Madeline agrees but with her divorce she starts seeing the similarities and is threatened to have to relive the past to help the woman move forward.
Can the team help the care home to find the letter writer, can she be there for her father and help the young woman?
I have read all the novels in this series and this one does not disappoint. You can read them as standalone stories as the author weaves the pasts from the characters, but they are enjoyable stories to read as a series. I love Madeline and her determination and character to carry on from her past and find the love with Mike. This story is full of the usual twist and turns which I have come to love from a Madeline Dawkins novel with the pace to have you digesting the story at a rapid run to the end.
I hope that Cynthia continues to entertain us with these stories going forward and can’t wait to read the next on in the series.

I have to be totally honest and say that it took me a little while to really get into this book but at the same time when I look back I am not sure I can pin point exactly why. I know that doesn’t make sense right? LOL . I am really glad I persevered though because I did enjoy this storyline and these great characters created by this wonderfully talented author. Maybe I was just in a weird mood when I started reading it? who knows!! What all my rambling boils down too is that this is a suspense filled, paranormal read dealing with love and loss. As others have mentioned in their reviews the epilogue was fantastic and I’m so glad I got to read it. Give this great book a read. You won’t be disappointed.

Healing Kiss is the first book I have read by this author. I am not usually a fan of this genre but this book was well written and easy to read. The story flowed well and the characters were very likeable. Realistic events and happenings made the actions performed seem very natural and believable. This is a great chapter book that tells the story of how awful middle school can be for those who are different. Silas is small for his age, due to a growth hormone deficiency. He is new the the school after having to move away from where he grew up – and that includes away from his best friend, his grandpa. As the new kid at school, Silas finds that he is an easy target for the bullies of the school. Unfortunately, that isn’t just the kids – it includes a teacher. He has to deal with all of this, while coming to terms with his Grandpa’s alzheimers diagnosis. It is a hard start to the year, but Silas finds his voice and his ability to stand up for what is right.

Savage Truth is the second book in the Hidden Valley Elite duo and the conclusion of Cole and Riley’s story. I highly encourage you to read this in order as this book follows the characters and you will better understand what is going on. This is a Enemies to Lover’s Romance, high-school bully romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until the end. I read this in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen next. Hot dang if I was sucked into Cole and Riley’s world and went along for the wild ride. This story is packed with drama, hatred, revenge, secrets, bullying and romance. These two had me turning the pages and at times I disliked them and the next was rooting for everything to work out. All it took was for one kiss to put her on his radar. He couldn’t get her out of his head. These two are playing a very dangerous game of cat and mouse. Will they survive it? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to give to much away but its worth the time. I look forward to seeing what this author brings us next.

Savage Truth is the third book in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn and is the final book in Cole and Riley’s story. It is a New Adult (High School) enemies-to-lovers “bully” romance with plenty of angsty drama, love, hate, jealousy, lies, secrets, family dynamics, sparks, chemistry, and sizzle. I highly recommend reading the previous two books before starting on this instalment, as not only do the whole story foundations begin there, but we also get lots of other relevant details, character introductions, backstories, and other important information which you really should know prior to diving into Savage Truth in order to help you better understand and appreciate this book, as well as the series as a whole. As we discovered in the first two books- The ‘Elites’ are the top of the food chain at Hidden Valley Elite high school. They are brothers Cole and Damon and their cousins, twin brothers Phoenix and Shane. They are the football stars of the school and rule the school and social circles. But things get a bit of a shake-up when Riley moves to town. One kiss ignites a flame that won’t be extinguished. But there are things happening in the background that neither Riley or Cole could have anticipated- making things even more complicated, fueling the fire between them. The circumstances tested everyone involved (yes, I know I’m being a bit vague here, but that’s because there’ll be no spoilers from me). Riley and Cole have taken us on quite a ride- as their story isn’t a ‘light and fluffy’ read, and at times the darker moments seem overwhelming and hopeless….. but amongst the bad-behaviour, angst, drama, chemistry, sparks, and clashes, there was also lots of emotion, as well as some lighter, heart-warming, and touching scenes. And let’s not forget all the sizzling encounters that steams up the pages. But Isla Vaughn didn’t make it easy for them, she really made them ‘work’ for their happiness- and I think the end result is fantastic….and in my opinion, the best book of the series, so far. Each of the elites are set to get their own book/s as well, making for a longer series to sink our teeth into. So, I am heading on to Book #3- Brutal Days, the start of Damon and Skylar’s story…. Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series and I liked it just as much as the first book. I do recommend reading this series in order to have a better reading experience overall. This sci-fi romance sucked me in and i enjoyed all of the main characters. It was fast paced and i was able to get through the book in one evening because i wanted to know what was happening throughout the story and where their mission was headed. Finally, the conclusion I have been waiting for since February when I read the prequel to this duet. Isla Vaughn’s ability to leave you hanging at the end of the first book, Savage Lies and pick up in the same moment in Savage Truth is pure talent. This book starts up exactly where the first one ended, Cole has a name that can reveal everything. The emotions warring not only in Riley are reflected in Cole. Riley finally joins the swim team only for her to overhear an argument between her mom and Cole’s dad the same day as her first practice. He’s saying it’s too soon he had plans to get Riley seen by scouts without media attention or risk. Cole finally unleashes the secret he had been holding in for a year, that Raelyn, Riley’s mom was the woman with their dad “that weekend”. Fear is laced through both Riley and Cole at every interaction. She tries to stick to the rules that have kept her and her mom alive for years. He’s tired of the lies and is ready to get Riley and her mom out of his home and out of their lives, only he can’t stop the unrecognizable emotions racing through him. Riley has never had the chance to live, she has only had a life of running to survive until now. Feeling like she has it all she holds back keeping doubt at the forefront of her mind, that girls like her don’t get what they want. Cole recognizes his obsession with Riley but in the past, he’s never felt anything deeper than the physical, but with Riley he feels everything and he’s not sure he wants to give that up. Riley makes him feel everything, more than physical, he can confide in her and know she cares. The long-awaited promise of a happy ever after is worth the wait, you truly fall in love with the characters and pray they get all that they deserve. A chance to live, love and feel without fear.

Reading about Alex’s conundrum when one of her refrigerator magnets break, and all of the cool things that you can do with magnets was pretty awesome. My daughter loved the creativity, and imagination that went along with this book. She learned so much about how they worked, and different experiments to with magnets! My daughter kept referencing back to the book when she was thinking of trying something new. I loved how it encouraged her imagination and her creativity. I can’t wait to have my kids rad more of Lois’s books!

4 Stars Healing Kiss is a new adult paranormal story. Amanda’s writing style flowed well and was an enjoyable and easy to read. The concept is original and the plot is well laid out. There is magical and supernatural elements with some humour, fear, danger, lots of drama, thick desperation and palpable tensions running at an all-time high. This suspense tale is fast paced and enjoyable and is told in the third person narrative. The lead characters Lillian and Tristian are interesting and the attraction is fast and hard. Lillian is a nurse with a pure gift she heals the sick by taking energy from healthy people. She is in hiding as she is being chased by an underground group called Kinetica. They want Lillian for their own gain and will stop at nothing to get what they want. She will do whatever it takes to save her sister. Tristian is a man after one special woman and he is determined to discover her secrets no matter the cost. The story which took me a little time to get into as I enjoy a story told in multiple POV as you get to see inside the characters better.
I wonder if Hannah and Brian will get their own story.

This series was the first I had picked up by author Andrea Matthews, and I fell in love with it. I’m a sucker for time traveling and historical romance, so this was just the perfect pick for me. This was a thrilling adventure as Will and Maggie thought they could finally settle down in the twentieth century only to find that they have to go back to save their current timelines. I won’t give away any spoilers, but I was sure gripping the edge of my seat until the very end! How can Will and Maggie return to the past to help mend the rip in the fabric of time when they no longer have the stone? Will history be forever altered by their inability to jump back, or will they risk their lives trying to fix it all? I love the way the author created this world and these characters with such depth that it all feels so relatable. I highly recommend picking up this entire series if you enjoy historical romances and time travel!

This is the second book in the Hidden Valley Elite series and I really can’t express how much I love this series. I do really recommend you read the books in order so you get the full story between Riley and Cole because wow what a story. We are back with Riley and her mum having moved into Coles home. The tension between Riley and Cole is crazy and they have a sort of cat and mouse game going on where one is always trying to out do the other. From the outside it looks like pure hatred between them but if you look closer you see something sizzling under the surface. Riley is still holding secrets about her past and Cole is determined to find them and get rid of Riley and her mum for good. But when Riley’s past comes out in the open in a terrifying and brutal way it leaves Cole and Riley with the shocking realisation about their feelings and what it means. This story has some steam, lots of sexual tension and chemistry, some truelly emotional moment as both Riley and Cole learn to trust and open up and the danger of Riley’s past which could force them apart forever.
Amazingly written. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next in this series.

This is such a fantastic book. It is a middle grade book that tells such an important story. Silas is starting middle school, as if that isn’t bad enough he’s moved to a brand new town. More importantly he has a growth hormone deficiency. This makes him much smaller than the average middle schooler. Oh and did I mention that his grandfather is no longer living near by and is going through some changes of his own. Which means his grandfather isn’t the steadfast rock that he is used to leaning on. Silas ends up being bullied by the students, and honestly by some teachers at his new school. But he won’t take being bullied lying down, he ends up running for class president. Which definitely has its ups and its downs. This is such an amazing book. It holds so many positive messages. This is one that I will be using as a read aloud next school year. I really enjoyed Silas and how he persevered through difficult challenges. I definitely recommend this story!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous book first. This second book is the conclusion to Riley and Cole’s story. It will also help you understand where they come from and enhance your enjoyment of this author’s writing skills. I was a little sad to see this story end but I also look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I found this book to be fast paced and hard to put down. The characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. They kept me coming back for more for sure. I enjoyed watching their growth and steamy chemistry throughout. I enjoyed these two characters and what they brought to the story. They made it easy and entertaining to read. Find out how one kiss changes everything for these two. This is a series you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

With the fate of everything hanging over Ian Troy, the question soon becomes ‘How much will this cost our hero in the end?’ This story delivered on the promise of a brilliant ending and more! Though I’m feeling a little emotionally wrung out after getting past the last few pages of this conclusion to the series, I have a sense of contentment at it all concluding as well. This third book pulled me through so many emotions that I find myself still reflecting on certain scenes despite a few days passing since I read the last page. The author has this way of making you both hate and empathetically understand the villains, a superpower in this series that I noted along with the depth of the characters. I generally don’t read epics and steer toward more urban fantasy books, but I just couldn’t resist this story after the first page of book one and can’t feel even the slightest hint of regret.

This is the continuation of the story that was started in Savage Lies. It picks up right where we left off with Cole and Riley. There is so much tension. There is still a lot of banter and a lot of button pushing, but this time it finally spills over into the steam that we were all expecting. Once they get to the steamy scenes the book gets even more suspenseful as Riley’s past comes back to haunt her. This book is excellent and I definitely recommend it!

This is a brilliant series and this book is a great addition to it. I really enjoy reading about these characters and the fantastic journey they have been on. Each time I pick up a new book I can’t decide where I think they might end up or which way the story might go. I simply let myself be taken on the ride. This book I think has to be my favourite so far. The author has done such an amazing job at developing both the story and the characters. The book is well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

This story was so immensely easy to connect with and I loved reading every second of it. The author really managed to capture what mothers go through, the feelings and emotions that that overwhelm them on a daily basis. I engaged with the story and the main character and found the whole book to be fantastic. This is a completely new author to me and I went into this blind. I didn’t know what to expect going in and I loved what I got. I am already looking forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.
This is the first story I have read where the character is referred to as “they” and it made for a unique reading experience. I like that this is a topic the author has chosen to tackle, although a times it did feel a little clumsy. The overall story was well written though and easy to get into. I enjoyed reading about the characters too. They all seemed to add so much to the story and fitted well with each other. This is a pretty new author to me and I think her work shows promise. I think the more of her work that I read the more I will enjoy. I am looking forward to discovering more from her.

This is the last installment of The Crown of Stones series and it doesn’t disappoint. Ian is trying to learn how to balance things and there is not a lack of excitement in this book. The author has such a way of pulling you in in the very first moments of the book and keep you drawn in until the very last word.

This was a new to me author and I really enjoyed this story! I’m usually pretty good at figuring out either who the bad guy is but this one I was wrong! (Which was a good thing means the author left you guessing)
I really liked the characters in this book, they were relatable and realistic. I want to get to know more of this small town and all the different people we met or hear about in this book. I will be reading more from this author if this book is anything to go off of.
