Dead Sound (Things Unseen Series Book1) by Anise Eden – Review by Ashley Hasting

Dead Sound (Things Unseen, #1)Dead Sound by Anise Eden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When you read this title, you wouldn’t think this is a romantic story. Well let me tell you that this story ended up being truly a suspense of a romance! It kept me in suspense the whole time turning into new surprises each corner. Neve and Cornelius are such great characters with such past stories. I can’t wait to see what’s next! When you start with a psychiatrist who was injured during a session to a potential relationship with a person who had rugby past injuries that ends up working together for the future of all. It’s just crazy good.

Talise and Aaden are great characters in this story and I cannot wait to continue the series! There is so much love, hate, and mixture of emotions to keep you looped in it all. You start off with a young Talise who comes off the storm to go to an academy since she has the elements needed in the future. We go ten years later where she is about ready to go to the testing to determine her future. The neighbor on the storm who helped her though passes and throughs her emotions everywhere. Now Aaden appears, and the new adventure starts where they are forced to work together to get the goal they want. Great job on this book!

She is looking for a Secret Santa Claus who has been donating millions of dollars worth of presents for families in Maine who deserve a true Merry Christmas. When she narrowed down her choices, she came down to a young millionaire named Sawyer Campbell. Ever since they met for a quick interview, they have been seeing more of each other closer to the holidays. There is love, family, and friendship in this story that deserves it all!

She went to pick up her Judge to a hearing in a different town to find her dead in her home. From there, she’s first suspect since she was the one to find her, but she goes to to prove her innocence to find all the facts. This includes her relationship with her ex-husband, keeping up with her job, and trying not to be the next victim. This was a great mystery to read and went straight to the second book when I was done.

Marcus has a lot to tackle with his family which leaves Lucy alone for a bit, and time for the Demon to finally come after her once again. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first read by Pauline and I must say it was a good book. It took me a minute to get hooked and read, but overall I enjoyed it and continued on to the next book in the series. You start off with Lucy losing her mother, which resulted in moving to Chicago to live with her Uncles. This is a 3 story apartment, so she ends up meeting new people on the second floor and already knows the one on the third floor. This meeting on the second floor begins her new life in Chicago. She experiences meeting new friends, frenemies, relationships, and even her Father. A lot happens and it took a minute to put all of it together, but I overall enjoyed it.

Nite Fire: Smoke & Mirrors (Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by C. L. Schneider – Review by Ashley Hasting

So to start off, I didn’t know about the first two books, but I am definitely going to go back and listen to them. CL Schneider was able to have it where I understood it all. The main Character Dahlia has a lot to uncover and work on with missing creatures of all kinds, masked men who are very flexible, and her friends sister still missing. With her human work, she investigates to find all she is looking for. This series is absolutely fascinating with all the different creatures, realms, and adventure. I can’t wait to finish the rest!

You have Alena Scott, Half Vampire Half Witch, who has to hide that fact from the world while living among humans and going to school with them. She meets new friends, as well as an old friend who she thought was her imagination. From there, we then escalate to more scenarios where she goes and meets vampires that help her belong as well as learning spells to help her on her witch side. In the background, a war is brewing, and now they have a lot on their plate. The Drama, love, family and friendship in this story is already so great and I can tell just the beginning! Weep Woman Weep was an amazing story from beginning to finish. Mercy had such a life to live with the Weeping Woman, the women who were caught by her, and what happened when she didn’t go to the river. I am seriously impressed that this story was only 120 pages. I swear it felt like so much more which is a good thing. I cannot express enough that Mercy is such an amazing girl who grew up to a confidant woman all on her own (except with mama’s help too). Maria, Kudos to an amazing story! 🙂

Emma is such an intriguing individual with so much going on for her. It all started with her notebook and crimes. The Characters overall in this book are all exciting with their different personalities and how they all relate and help Emma achieve what it was hard for women to do in those times. As a woman, I praise the work that was done in this book and wish I was in that timeline helping where I could! It’s the stories you wish you were apart of that make the best readings. Her love, mysteries, drama, and friendships all link in with the story told. Kimberly, such a great series. Thank you for this creation! 🙂
