Dark Sky at Dawn (Free Men and Dreamers, #1)Dark Sky at Dawn by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoy reading this author. This is the second book I have picked up from this author and I enjoy her writing style. The period of the War of 1812 is not my typical go-to genre but I gave it a try and I’m glad I did. The attention to detail and the storyline build are just a few of the traits I love about this author. The building of the relationship between Jed and Hanna is truly wonderful and pure. Jed is the heir to a plantation and a family with years of secrets; buying slaves to build back up the Willow’s Estate. Now little does Jed know Hanna’s family is the key to putting all the family secrets together. I definitely recommend the book and author!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite series and authors. I have read every book this author has published and they keep getting better. This book was the prequel to Savage Start. Cole and Riley have a rocky start. Riley is trying to not be noticed at a house party but when a goth chick walks into Ken and Barbie’s party is pretty hard to stay undetectable. Especially when the hot eye candy that is giving alpha male vibes catches Riley where she has no business being. This book gives an insight as to what happens to Cole and Damon´s parent’s marriage and the tragedy that taints his family name. I can’t wait to see what else this author comes out with!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! All I can say is that the entire series is amazing! This is book 8 and just like the rest, this one did not disappoint! This book is the continuation of Shane and Winters’s story and also the end of the series. Shane Bennett lied to Winter. How could she not recognize him? When Shane accidentally drops his wallet in her dorm Winter finally realizes Shane’s true identity. But it is too late! Someone has kidnapped Winter and brought her to the one place that keeps her nightmares fresh in her mind. Although these two have a pretty troubling past that should keep them apart, it is exactly the thing that helps push them together. When Winter gets a surprise visit from one of her professors Winter learns the disturbing truth about her sister’s murder. This book is not only a sweet romance but a thriller. It was a page-turner from the first book in the series. I am sad to come to the end of the Hidden Valley Elite Series but can’t wait to see what else this author comes out with.

Dominic Larussio is never played by any rules other than the ones the family set forth. Still, even those weren’t always followed. Emelia Rosa, the mafia princess of their rival, happens to just fall in the lap of the Larussio during the revenge battle how could Dominic pass that opportunity up. With the kidnapping of his younger cousin, and the bloodshed at his cousin’s wedding it was time for the DaRosas to get payback and Emelia was as perfect as it came. Just like the first book in this series, the relationship between Dominic and Emelia is one of hot/cold with a whole lot of love/hate. Riley and her mom were always supposed to be on the same page regarding their cons. Not this time! It was strange to Riley that they would move to a city that they had once lived in before. The one good thing about being back was, hopefully, she would be able to kiss the huck from the last time they lived here.

Cole was the leader of his high school. He, his younger brother, and his twin cousins were the Elite and untouchable, at least that is what Cole thought until she showed back up. She was his downfall, but he would make her life a living hell for what her mom did to his family.
