From the first night that Jude was introduced to the family Allie and Angie have been by his side even when Jude pushed the rest of the world away. But Jude never intended to fall in love with her especially since she is a Hawke by blood!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dominic Larussio is never played by any rules other than the ones the family set forth. Still, even those weren’t always followed. Emelia Rosa, the mafia princess of their rival, happens to just fall in the lap of the Larussio during the revenge battle how could Dominic pass that opportunity up. With the kidnapping of his younger cousin, and the bloodshed at his cousin’s wedding it was time for the DaRosas to get payback and Emelia was as perfect as it came. Just like the first book in this series, the relationship between Dominic and Emelia is one of hot/cold with a whole lot of love/hate. One of the best acts of revenge that Emelia can get on her father is showing up to a family funeral on the arm of her father’s sworn enemy.
Yet, again this author did not disappoint! This book was so full of action, love, war, and steamy at parts that I could not put it down nor did I want to. I needed to keep reading to find out what happened next.

Riley and her mom were always supposed to be on the same page regarding their cons. Not this time! It was strange to Riley that they would move to a city that they had once lived in before. The one good thing about being back was, hopefully, she would be able to kiss the huck from the last time they lived here.

Cole was the leader of his high school. He, his younger brother, and his twin cousins were the Elite and untouchable, at least that is what Cole thought until she showed back up. She was his downfall, but he would make her life a living hell for what her mom did to his family.

This was a fantastic page-turner. Once I started, I could not put this book down. I did not read the prequel, but I will be backtracking just for curiosity. I found another amazing author to add to my must-read list!!

When Olga learns that there is to be a book about her mother’s presumptuous betrayal of the Russian people she must put an end to the book being published. I have come to love reading books from this era and was happy to find a new author to enjoy. This book was well-written and has a way of holding the reader’s attention. An easy read, wonderfully written and has mostly wonderful characters. Laurel is a young lady just coming into her womanhood when she fell in love with Viscount Laurenson. They are quick to marry due to her husband leaving for war in Spain leaving Laurel to deal with Robert’s twin sister Rhonda. Laurel is left at Landings, a brand new inexperienced bride, and at the mercy of Robert’s twin sister, Rhonda, a jealous, spoilt, spiteful woman. Rhonda has been in charge of the Laningham household for so long that it is hard for her to give up the reins to the household. When Laurel figures out that she is with child the jealousy becomes worse from Rhonda.

This historical fiction gem takes place in Greenwich Village in 1912 when times were much more conservative. The book follows Lottie a young legal clerk for Justice Goff of the Manhattan Municipal Court but her radical extended family and her sexual explorations have led to blackmail to purposefully influence her actions. Legal clerk by day and bohemian lifestyle by night. When a very high-profile case lands on Justice Goff’s docket Lottie doesn’t know if she can stand by and watch injustice being played out in the courtroom. The trial involves a local police officer named Charles Becker. Becker was the first police detective indite for murder and corruption at the turn of the century in lower Manhattan, an area notorious for graft and exploitation. At the same time, Lottie’s lover goes missing and she begins to receive blackmail threats that involve the trial and Rose.
I really enjoyed reading this historical fiction book. It’s not too often this genre of books can keep my interest but the authors use flashbacks to complete the backstory details of the main character.

Rockstar Jared blew into Ella’s life out of nowhere. Jared was the bad-boy rebel who didn’t let people get too close to him. He has anxiety, is grumpy, and would rather jump from bed to bed than let himself get close to his heart. Jared and Ella shared a week of pure magic getting to know each other. But Jared rolled out of Ella’s life as fast as he entered. Ella doesn’t want to like Jared because he’s a jerk to her, but her heart says otherwise. When they ended up on the same tour bus together it was going to be hell.
When Ella gets the chance to put miles between them she can’t leave fast enough. When she gets to the cabin in the middle of nowhere Ella can finally relax after months of tension. When the door flies open Ella can’t believe her eyes!! JARED!! The two end up being snowed in with no rescue in sight. This could either go very well or horribly wrong.

If you are into Mafia thrillers, this book is for you! When I picked up this book, I was unaware that it was part of a series, but the author gave enough background that this book can be read as a stand-alone book. The series of books follow The Five Families of Chicago’s mafia. Each book follows a different member from the Capo to the lowest man in the family. Each book picks up where the last one left off just following the next person’s story. The author’s attention to detail in connecting each book, yet each book centering on different family members, keeps me coming back for the next book. I would not suggest reading this or any of the books in this series as a standalone because each book adds to the bigger picture and will have you hooked on the edge of your seat I am a new fan of these thrilling, on-the-edge-of-your-seat mafia books!

When I decided to read this book, I was unaware that it was based on a true story. Learning that it was based on a true story made it more inspiring and impactful. When I read the description of the book what drew me in was that it was a different point of view during WWII. I love reading about WWII and Nazi Germany, and this book checked all those boxes. The author’s writing and descriptions provided me with a clear view of what it was like for Michelle and her family living in their home while it was occupied by the German soldiers during World War II and having to tiptoe around to keep many secrets hidden from the Nazis. It is unfortunate to learn that Michelle Naget had to learn many life lessons many years before she should have. The loss of her oldest brother to the war, her next oldest brother being shot, and constantly having to be worried she might become the object of a German soldier. In this book, we dive into Nico’s story. He is quiet, calculated, and never thought he could settle down like the rest of his Mafia family. When Mia Tucci tracks him down on an island only his family knows he’s at and holds a gun to his chest, it makes him very intrigued as to what she wants. She was the enemy but as they say, keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. Mia is in trouble with her evil father and stepbrother. Will Nico, the Five Families, and the Chicago Mafia help Mia end the rein of her sadistic, pour evil family all while putting a stop to the sex trafficking business that harmed one of the Chicago Mafia members?
This book is amazing and I loved how action-packed the storyline was. It also made me sad because it was the closing book to the Mafia Elite series. BUT now we still get to learn about the NY division of the Mafia!! I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
