Shield & Shade (Ascended Guardians Series Book 1) Audiobook by Misty Hayes – Review by Emily H

When she was five, Zoey Taylor, got lost in the woods she was found but nightmares have been her constant for the last ten years. Zoey has a close knit family but she finds it stifling at times, but what she doesn’t realize is that secrets are surrounding her. When Gabriel Stanton, a wealthy philanthropist shows up Zoey finds out the carefully crafted bubble she has surrounded herself in is a bout to shatter.

I really enjoyed this one, the narration is done extremely well. Liked the concept of this story and was pulled in right away. Kept me guessing. Great beginning to a new series.

Shield & Shade (Ascended Guardians Series Book 1) Audiobook by Misty Hayes – Review by Alison Risher

This was an absolutely fabulous listen! Quite frankly, it exceeded my expectations. The author had angels and demons as characters, yet remained respectful of traditional Judeo-Christians beliefs. The characters were amazing. Life is rough enough when you are a high school student, but having to navigate the hallmarks of teenage drama, in addition to supernatural elements, gives listeners an added sympathy for the characters.

Shield & Shade (Ascended Guardians Series Book 1) Audiobook by Misty Hayes – Review by April McCoy

This audiobook blew me away! I will be buying a hard copy for my shelf asap! While I think this book is excellent for YA, As a full grown adult I thoroughly enjoyed! This is my first from the author and WOW, I will be getting more ASAP. The book flowed nicely, narration was great and I found myself zoned out to anything else while listening. It was fascinating, relative with a fantasy spin and just an incredible story!! Would recommend all the way!

Shield & Shade (Ascended Guardians Series Book 1) Audiobook by Misty Hayes – Review by Cindy Mayberry

Just like that a new YA series begins. This is a fun and intense story to read. Get your teens reading as well. There are times when I just don’t feel like reading so I let Audio do it for me.

WOW!!! Zoey has been told all her life she took off in the middle of the night. In Fact she was reminded of that event for many years to come. Until a visitor shows up and the real story comes out. So what happens next? Well read on and keep turning those pages,  because you don’t want to miss the outcome of this fantastic series. This author had me hooked on her book before I finished the first chapter. The story is fast paced and will keep you drawn in. Her characters are relatable as read their part in this series. I hope the next book comes out soon as I am waiting to see what happens next.

For fans of STORM AND FURY and MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. The Ascended Guardians series is a supernatural thrill-ride that never lets up.

It’s been over ten years since fifteen-year-old Zoey Taylor wandered away from her family home in the middle of the night. Or so she’s been told, repeatedly, by her mother—but the only thing Zoey knows for sure is that when her older brother, Corinth, found her in the woods, safe and unharmed, she returned with a crippling fear of the dark and no other memories from those lost days—except strange flashes of sharp teeth and red-flaming hair.

Since that time, she’s become a star pupil and is on track to graduate early … if, and that’s a big IF, her overprotective family doesn’t get in the way of her dreams first.

But when one of the wealthiest, enigmatic philanthropists on the planet—Gabriel Stanton—shows up on her doorstep on Thanksgiving Day and reveals the truth about what really happened to her all those years ago, it completely shatters her perception of the world.

And the story isn’t anything like what she’s been told.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Emma (Notebook Mysteries Book 1) Audio Book by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Cindy Mayberry

This was a great travel audible book. Emma, age 16, works in the family bakery and holds her own when things get rough. Now, even though she has been trained, she has no experience. But that does not stop her from getting involved. She has a habit of writing things down that seem out of place. Actually that’s clever for someone her age. This was a high energy suspenseful story. Questions asked, and questions answered is what you will find throughout this story. The author has quite the imagination and her story keeps everyone entertained. This is a great story for teens and young readers alike. This is a historical novel, which generally I don’t read, but this one drew my interest. I’m happy I took the chance, and look forward to reading the others in this series.

This was a great listen. Took a road trip and listen to this epic story. It pulled me in immediately and had my senses on alert. This story has it all family drama, love and bravery. Looking forward to listening or read more from this author. Just love how the author paints you an amazing story.

To be a Fae Guardian (Realm Chronicles Book 2) Audio Book by Tricia Copeland – Review by Amanda Glaspie

This was an interesting listen as Titania battles to determine who she can trust while also containing locusts that threaten her kingdom. I have read/listened to the first book but I found that not to be an issue. The author did a good job of referencing the first book and giving a quick background. I did find that the book jumped around and glossed over details or focused on details that were not as important but overall I enjoyed the book. I find myself rooting for strong female characters, especially when their differences are highlighted and focused on trying to make them appear as bad. Titania is a strong character who proves her worth through her actions.

This was a fantastic audio book and one that I really enjoyed listening to. The authors writing together with the wonderful narration really brought this story to life. I could easily imagine everything that I was listening to. The character Tatiana was so amazing – I loved listening to her story. I really felt her emotions at times and I felt really connected to her as a character. The author did an amazing job with creating the fantasy land that this series takes place in and her wonderful attention to detail makes it so believable to read. I would highly recommend this audio book and I can’t wait to listen to more from this author in the future!

Emma is the first audio book in the Notebook Mysteries Series and I absolutely loved listening to it.  This is my first audiobook by this author and I  definitely can’t wait to listen to more by her. The narrator did a wonderful job of  making you feel as if you are a part of the story. The narrator did a great job of changing the tone of their voice with each different character.  This is a fun yet entertaining story that takes you on quite the adventure as we follow Emma. I found myself lost in the narration and couldn’t bring myself to stop listening until I finished.  I highly recommend listening to this story and look forward to reading/listening to more by this author.

I loved listening to this title! The narrator has a soothing voice and the story line is fantastic! Emma is growing up in a city recovering from the great fire and as she grows as a person she grows as a character. From the very beginning readers are sucked in and wanting to know what happens next! I am looking forward to more in this series!

Notebook Mysteries ~ Emma (Notebook Mysteries Book 1) Audio Book by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Amanda Glaspie

This was an interesting story of Emma who grow up in the late 1800s and after surviving the great Chicago Fire. Emma is observes everything and notices things that no one else does. This leads her to start solving mysteries and solve a crime no one knew was a crime. I did feel like there could have been a bit more character development as some things I felt like were skimmed over. Overall, this was a fun listen with a twist at the end.

Emma is all about adventure and has a keen sense in her way of thinking for sure. Emma is helping to run her family bakery and also help deliver as well…Emma discovers when helping deliver bakery goods is there a robbery being taken place?? Mystery, adventure and a notebook this story is fun and enjoyable!

Notebook Mysteries ~ Emma (Notebook Mysteries Book 1) Audio Book by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Ashley Hasting

I’ve read her other books, and didn’t realize there was a first! SO of course I had to come read this one as well! I use audibles at work, so I did this one! Emma is such a smart and observant girl. It all started with her mother. Her mother always taught her to be aware of her surroundings. Unfortunately, her mother passed away during a massive fire. Years later, Emma is a very curious teenager who tries to keep observant of her world. Thanks to this, she discovers and helps solve many mysteries and many more. Please try this series out! So worth it!

This is my first audiobook by this author.  I really enjoyed listening to it.  I look forward to listening to more by this author.  I enjoyed how the narrator was able to pull me into the story by using different tones of voice.   It also helped keep the story engaging.  The characters  took me on an adventure of magic and evil spirits.   They are not only connectable and the narrator gave life to the story. This is a story of a journey to Middle Earth and a race of survival to save all from darkness.  I highly recommend this audiobook and this author.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Emma (Notebook Mysteries Book 1) Audio Book by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Kerry Baker

This is such a great story and it is one that reat comes to life via the audio book. I really think Emma’s personality shines through and it feels like you are seeing everything through her eyes. I kept loving track of the time when I was listening to this book and I had listened to it all before I knew I was near the end. It was a great.bpok to read but and even better one to experience.

To be a Fae Guardian (Realm Chronicles Book 2) Audio Book by Tricia Copeland – Review by Taylor K Stephenson

~Journey to Middle Earth with a Fae Queen~

This is my second time through this book. I read the kindle versions first, but when I saw the audible come out I knew I had to try it out. Titania is such a force to be reckoned with. The story is strongly gripping, and I can easily see that Titania and her entourage have done some major development in their adventures so far.

I had a hard time listening through the audible, but I gave it 5 stars because it’s probably personal preference. I found the audio to be monotone, a little difficult to hear the words and not just the lyrical cadence of the narrator. It’s possible that reading through it myself the first read through, I was picturing the inflection going a little differently for Titania. Overall though a very thorough performance on this fantasy journey.

Titania goes through so much, is so level headed, and well rounded. Truly a hero! If you are questioning picking up this series, you won’t be disappointed. Fae, Middle Earth, strong companionship, difficult choices, a kingdom in need of justice only a young heroine can redeem!!! What more could you ask for in a fantastical journey to Middle Earth?

To be a Fae Guardian (Realm Chronicles Book 2) Audio Book by Tricia Copeland – Review by Shelly Kittell

This story is so packed full of action, adventure, suspense, and intrigue. Titania is one of my favorite fantasy characters. She is badass and strong by putting her kingdom and people before everything else. She really isn’t afraid to break laws to protect people. This is book 2 of the series and continues Titania’s adventures of dealing with consequences of trying to protect the kingdom. Now one person is facing those consequences. Can she save him and her kingdom? She has so much pressure all around her and secrets to hide. The author does a great job in writing her and developing the plot around her struggles. It’s been a delight to listen this story. I’ve enjoyed going through and hearing Titania battle through and get what she needs. I have read this story but to listen to it on audio gives it a whole new level of comprehension because you can picture it, listen and basically create your own picture in your mind. It’s another level of imagination. The narrator did a great job of changing the voices around and giving excitement to the story. She kept the story going. I really enjoyed the story. Everything came together and made it all work.

A terribly young queen with insight far beyond her tender age of 16 years old saves a realm and then is condemned for it.
She struggles knowing her instincts are right, but a council consisting of a different generation of fae can’t see things the way she does.
She perseveres despite some heart lurching goodbyes and she learns not to trust so quickly, except in her own decisions.
She makes one hard decision after another but continues above all else to put the realm and her kingdom before herself. Will she regain trust in herself? Can she erase self doubt? Can she protect a realm that doesnt seem to want her protection? Can she mend her tender young broken heart?
This series is addictive and is a can’t miss for Fae lovers. The narration adds so much to this story with inflection and personality to the characters as well.

I love being able to follow up a good book with the audio version so I was excited to get to read this one. I thought the narrator did a great job of bringing the story and the characters to life. They made them feel so much more real and I could visualise everything with ease.
The story still felt just as exciting as when I was reading it Ns even though I knew what was coming I still felt like I was surprised anew. I really enjoyed this adaption and hope to listen to more of this authors books.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Emma (Notebook Mysteries Book 1) Audio Book by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Shelly Kittell

Outstanding Story

Emma is an exciting story based in 1881,. She is a young girl that gets herself involved in mysteries and adventures that she probably shouldn’t. But hey, she’s an adventurous, brave and courageous young girl that enjoys solving problems. The story is well-written and full of mystery and suspense. It’s even full of good sounding food. The mystery focuses around a bakery so there are recipes for some yummy deserts. Emma introduces us to her friends that will help her solve the mystery. This is a fun and quick listen for a teen. The narration is okay. I do wish there could have been a little more variety to the voice. The narration was a tad monotone. Overall, it was a good experience and I do recommend this for your teen/youth age group. Fun book that I enjoyed.

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #1)Lost Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lost Bastard had me a little nervous to start because I am not a huge organized crime fan. It swept me off my feet! The female lead is so powerful in her own right! And a witty alpha male is always swoon-worthy. Wrap that all up in an action-packed page turner and watch the sparks fly!

Heart Broken (Satan’s Devils MC #5) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

Heart Broken: Satan’s Devils MC, Volume 5 Audio Book by Manda Mellett

Rating: 5 of 5 starts

I was so excited to get Heart’s story! After what he had been through in previous books, I was rooting for him from the very start. The book starts right where the one before left off, and Heart has basically been sent to roam on his own after some serious mis-steps on his part. Marc becomes his unlikely friend and the rest of the book is a whirlwind of grief, tragedy, violence, and learning to love. Top all that off with a brotherhood that keeps me coming back for more after every book I read, and you have got a great novel! This author always manages to find a new way to tackle an MC love story, making each story familiar, yet brand new. I love the way the author deals with very real, serious and tragic backstories, and shows how each character overcomes them and is still able to find love and grow. Looking forward to the next, as usual! Take note that this book is number 5 in the series. I would say that they can be understood and followed separately, but there are backstories, and other connections that you would miss if you do not read them in order so I highly recommend starting with Turning Wheels.
