The Guardsman (The Olympic Peninsula Series Book 2) Audiobook by Cat Treadgold – Review by Kayla Octaviano

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love the edgy Liam character and how well he fits with his exact opposite, Teresa, a rich socialite. Read this book if you like awkward moments, romance blossoming, and funny family moments.

The Guardsman (The Olympic Peninsula Series Book 2) Audiobook by Cat Treadgold – Review by Amanda Glaspie

When I started this book, I had no idea this was the second book in the series. itnhad great description ls of each character, and it was very easy to learn and feel their emotions. The story was intriguing and a little unique; at times, the storyline seemed a little far-fetched. The narration did sound forced which made it hard to focus on the story but I was able to get used to it as the story progressed. Overall, if you’re looking for a cute romance, this will definitely fill that need.

The Guardsman (The Olympic Peninsula Series Book 2) Audiobook by Cat Treadgold – Review by Shelly Kittell

Oh, Teresa and Liam’s story is so relatable. Even though she came from a rich family, her struggles are one’s that many of us can relate to. Now, Liam, that man is hot, sexy mystery and one that would be fun to discover. I sure enjoyed listening to their story. The mystery of where Liam was after the bombing had me on edge wanting to know just as much as Teresa, Ali and Joe. The mysteries intertwined in this story are fantastic along with some little twists in there. Don’t even get me started on some of the antagonist’s such as Carrie, Ulla, Koli and some of the others.

The writing is wonderful. I found the tone to be a mysterious and suspenseful tone. I enjoyed it being read by the author. There was always an air of “the other shoe is going to drop.” The characters were so well-developed and the details of them in the story made me feel like I was there. Listening to the story actually gave you the feeling that you were there, kind of like you were eavesdropping.

The Guardsman is the second book in the Olympic Peninsula series and the second book I have listened to by this author. Both books are standalone but you will have a better understanding of the characters if you listen in order. This book features Theresa and Liam and their trials and tribulations. This was an intriguing book that had me guessing at what would happen next. I can’t wait for the third book to come out. Cat Treadgold’s narration was very easy to listen to and I enjoyed it tremendously.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Guardsman is book 2 in a thrilling series. Though book 1 isnt required to read it, will definitely help you understand the main characters, this book focuses more on Liam.

Liam, whos been presumed dead for over three years (after an explosion at the end of Book on is found by a private investigator. Ali, His sister has never given up on him still being alive. Theresa, who is Joes sister (Alis Husband) brings Liam home to Ali. Theresa is instantly attracted to Liam, however hes quite resistant. Theresa is rich and appears on the surface to be a society princess: everything Liam hates. deep down he cant help but admit hes feeling the attraction even if he wants to deny it. Shes independent and spirited and the banter between them keeps him enthralled.
After coming home to live with his sister and her new husband (joe) but struggles to settle into “home”. When Theresa starts become more and more “accident prone” and increasing strange events happen Liams heckles raise and his protection instinct kicks in.

What is going on with Theresa? Will her independent streak crumble to allow Liam to help her? Are these all accidents and coincidences? Will Liam and Theresa get past all the things they think they didnt like or couldnt have and accept one another?

This is a romantic suspense, with the audio reading by the author which I feel gave it extra flair. I felt the characters emotions and the story kept me turning page after page.

The Guardsmen (The Olympic Peninsula, Book 2)

I have had the pleasure to listen to both of the books in this series and enjoyed each of them. I loved being able to catch up with Joe, Allie, Teresa and others as well as meeting someone new.

Learning Liam’s story was something I was hoping for since he was introduced. Definitely a lot more interesting than I think most people would have expected.

I highly recommend listening to the first before taking on this one, there is a lot of useful information that will help make this one make sense.

Looking forward to the next one, I really like this family and look forward to keeping them around for a bit.

The Guardsman is the second book in The Olympic Peninsula Series (Audiobook) and is a Romance Suspense that will pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end.  This is my second Audiobook by this author and I truly enjoyed it as much as the first book. This author did their own narration and they knocked it out of the park . I’d highly suggest listening/reading the first book as it will help you to know the characters and what has been going on. The storyline flowed so well through the narrator that I felt like I was a part of the story.  Liam and Teresa are about to find out what happens when your accident prone and need a protector.  I highly recommend listening to this story to find out what happens next. It’s a definite must read/listen. I’m looking forward to reading/listening to more from this Author.

The Guardsman (The Olympic Peninsula Series Book 2) Audiobook by Cat Treadgold – Review by Cindy Mayberry

This is Liam and Teresa’s story. Once again this author took me by surprise. The audio story puts your mind into the audience. This story holds all the suspense and romance you could ask for. Teresa is a strong independent woman and Liam has seen and been through enough trauma. While both are tied together by family and blood, their banter is fun to follow. Can Liam and Teresa fight their true hearts and stay away from each other? Will their siblings help to keep them apart? Having been to Port Townsend, this story fits perfectly, even if there were some fabrications.  I still love this story. This could be a standalone, but I feel you should read this series in order, as book one has some information that will keep you on track with this story. Yes I will be waiting to see where this author takes the next in this intriguing series.

4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Guardsman is book 2 in the Olympic Peninsula series and this was a very enjoyable story. I highly recommend listening to book one, so you can get a backstory on the characters, especially Liam. I also enjoyed that the narrator of this audiobook is also the author as well.

Liam Ryan was originally presumed dead after being caught an explosion in Israel. His twin sister, Ali, never give up hope that he was still alive. When a private investigator finds Liam, Theresa, who is Joe’s sister, brings Liam home. Liam tries to adjust to being “home” with Ali and Joe….while Theresa has her eyes set on Liam. Deep down, Theresa thinks Liam is stunning and she is intrigued.

Sparks fly between Liam and Teresa even when Liam does not want to admit it at first… but when strange occurrences start happening to Teresa, will Liam be there when she needs him the most?

This is a very good story with suspense, romance and intrigue. I am already looking forward to more from this author.

The Guardsman is the second book in the Olympic Peninsula series. Cat Treadgold grabbed my attention and kept me wanting more throughout this entire book. Her story line is spot on, her characters are lovable, and her narration is enjoyable. Her narration allows you to feel her character’s emotion throughout which is very important to me in an audio book. I highly enjoy romance novels and enjoy it even more when there is some suspense intertwined. The Guardsman definitely did not let me down in this category. I thoroughly enjoyed book number one and book number two in this series is even better. I would recommend this audio book to anyone who loves reading romance with a hint of suspense. No stranger to adversity, Liam Ryan has also cheated death. He kept himself and his twin sister safe through a tough childhood in the foster care system. Then, at age twenty-four, he took his first trip abroad and was blown up and presumed dead in a terrorist attack. Three years later an investigator locates him working as a security guard in Jerusalem.

Scarred mentally and physically by his ordeal, Liam needs space to decide what comes next. So he agrees to join his sister Ali and her new husband Joe at their sprawling estate in Port Townsend. Joe’s sister Teresa, fleeing a broken engagement and her controlling mother, also comes to stay. Liam mistrusts rich people, but Teresa, the kind of society princess he would normally avoid at all costs, is hard to resist. Especially when she becomes suspiciously accident prone and in need of a protector.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Listen, although I may not be a country music fan, I really enjoyed this story. It is the first in a series. We have Joe who is under some very strict doctor’s orders and Ali who has come to Joe in search of shelter from a storm. This was a fun read that was really easy to read and get trapped in the emotions. I cannot wait to read the second.

⭐⭐ Audio Book Review

The Silent Woodsman is the first installment of the Olympic Peninsula series written by Cat Treadgold. This is my first time reading (listening) to a novel by Treadgold. Down on her luck, Ali is attempting to connect with her twin when she finds herself at a cabin waiting out a storm. Mute country singer Joe answers the door and communicates with Ali in writing as he is “resting his voice”. The instant undeniable attraction between the two is so innocent and pure. The chemistry between the two is intense. I thoroughly enjoyed the different approach of communicating through writing. At first I wasn’t sure that I was going to like this but it ended up growing on me. The Silent Woodsman was a little too slowly paced for my liking. I did find it dragging out in places and rushed in others, especially the ending. Despite this flaw, I loved how descriptive the detail was. The characters were lovable, relatable, and engaging. I felt as if I was on this journey right alongside them. I recommend this novel to all romance lovers and truly look forward to reading installment number two later this month.

4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a very good debut contemporary romance that definitely gave me a slow burn between Joe and Ali. This story was very enjoyable and I loved that the author was the narrator.

Joe is taking a bit of a break with his voice being isolated to rest in a cabin in the Hoh Rain forest. Joe never expects a visitor at his cabin…. Where he meets Ali. Joe connects with Ali…but when. It is all said and done they part ways… Ali never knowing that Joe is a popular country singer…. But in all they never forgot each other….the connection and spark.

Time passes…but a chance encounter reunites Joe and Ali in unexpected ways..but with family drama, jealousy and lies come in between…will Joe and Ali ever have their HEA that they deserve….

I am already looking to forward to Book 2 … this was a very good story to start a new series ⭐️

Can love work through the silence?

I found this a romantic and charming story. The flirting between these two was fun and quite witty. When one can’t talk and the communication must be done by writing it makes it so much fun. The miscommunication can be fun and quite enticing. Blushing abounds because errors can be made. These two are quite fun characters. I enjoyed their story. It kind of reminded me of a Pretty Woman vibe. I couldn’t stop the story. Ali had her hands full trying to figure out what had happened to her brother and that mystery, then she comes upon Joe in the woods. He’s dealing with surgery that can mess up his career. His biggest obstacle sis having to keep quiet due to surgery on his vocal cords. I enjoyed the story very much.Hearing it in audio did a lot to add to it. The narration was a little dry but I still enjoyed it as it brought the story to life. With Ali’s brother’s mystery, I feel hearing it in audio, that helps add more to the story. It’s quite enjoyable.

The Silent Woodsman by Cat Treadgold
Narrated by Cat Treadgold

I always love finding new to me authors, there is something about discovering how they write.

I found myself getting lost in the book as I was listening to it, think part of it was her voice. I would get so caught up that I forgot a few times that this wasn’t set in current times and couldn’t figure out why they weren’t using the internet to search, etc. for a second then I realized.

Allie and Joe fit together the moment they met and fate continued to intervene to find a way to get them together. It wasn’t the easiest of paths for them but it worked in the end. I feel like everyone deserves a Becca in their life. She seemed to be the voice of reason and fiercely protective of Allie. I have my own Becca and I would be lost without her.

I was intrigued by the twin connection and have seen it in real life between my mother in law and her sister a few times. That is definitely an interesting bind.

I’m looking forward to reading/listening to more books by Ms. Treadgold and getting to know the next one to fall.

The Silent Woodsman (The Olympic Peninsula series Book 1) Audiobook by Cat Treadgold – Review by Cindy Mayberry MI

This has to be one of my favorite romances. It’s honest, it’s laid back and accidental love does happen, or can it? Joe is recovering from throat surgery. He can not say one single word. So he isolates himself in a small cabin off the grid. Somewhere his fans will not find him. He is happy and content. Ali is walking around in her twin brother’s secret places in hopes of finding clues as to where he really is. She has been told he had died in an accident. She can’t believe them. Getting lost in a rain shower, she stumbles her way on to a cabin. Thinking it abandoned she approaches the porch when the door opens. So that is all you get! This author writes with her heart on her sleeve. She is also the narrator of the book and you can tell she loves her story. It is fast paced and with all the events going on in these two very different characters, you just can’t tell how it will end. As for me it ended too soon. I have questions that I bet they will be in book 2.

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book 2) Audiobook by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra – Review by Maikalani Alexander

The book of hours is definitely an action packed story, twists and turns navigate the semblance of her life. Touching on her pain her heart feels stuck in a loveless marriage, rejected by the love of her life. Gabriella thrust herself into being her own heroine.

However, she can’t do it on her own. A blast from the past and love of her life Richard shows up once again securing her life and maybe her love?

If you like mystery, action, romance, thrillers, and unlocking secrets this is the book for you.

My only drawback was the reader. Sometimes it was hard to feel the emotion, follow along, and differentiate between the characters as who was speaking.

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book 2) Audiobook by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

Gabriela Martinez is a well known author that is about to put her book up for auction. People are willing to do anything to get their hand on her book. At least one person is willing to take her life. There are plenty of twists to keep you listening, or turning the pages if you are reading the book. A few times I felt like I was getting lost when things from the previous book were referenced, but I was able to piece things together without any issues. This was the first book I have ever picked up by this author. I will be going to read book one and I will definitely be checking out her other works.

This was a fun and exciting read. Lots of suspense and twists. Since I missed the previous book there were some loopholes in the story for me so I highly recommend reading it before reading this one. I feel like it was a little slow at the beginning and it took me a little to get into the story. Other than that, this was a good book.

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book 2) Audiobook by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra – Review by Rebeca Elliott Figueiras

This is the second book in the Coins/Hours duology. I do wish I had listened to the first book prior to this one to learn more about the characters and previous events, but it did not detract from my enjoyment of this one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, a possibility for romance containing action, suspense and twists! I enjoyed this story, it was different to most I’ve read, making it unique and more enjoyable.

I felt the characters were well developed, and well-written. I admired Gabriela’s strength and dedication and felt the narrator did a particularly good job in bringing her to life.

I’ll be getting the first book to start the duology over, and looking for more from this author!

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book 2) Audiobook by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra – Review by Shelly Kittell

I sure enjoyed this continuation of The Coin series. Gabriela and Richard took this story to a whole new level. The spy game and time travel just made it so fanflippingtastic. I used to think The DaVinci Code was great but I have since changed my mind. I found the protagonist in this series are well-written and developed. The antagonist fit their role perfect. The story flows smooth and it just is. Listening to this in audio was different. It is enjoyable in audio. I do with the variety in voices had been more. I am and always will be a fan of variety and not just the same voice. It’s worth the listen because it’s got the same thrill and is exciting.
