Joined by Mara Gan was a fulfilling scifi/fantasy romance. I would give this book a 5 out of 5. I thoroughly enjoyed the story building and character development. Meda was a fantastic read, I really felt close to her throughout the book. Her protector is notorious around the galaxies, but is not what he seems. I had trouble putting the book down!

Superb read!
I loved the plot and character development. The female lead is strong, intelligent, compassionate, and a bit stubborn, which makes her immediately attractive. This book captures your attention from the beginning and holds it through the entire adventure. One of the great things about this story is that you feel like you are IN the story, not just reading it. Joined has a little bit of everything from mystery to action to romance. Never a dull moment!

Captivity: A Paranormal Romance Novella (Captivity Book 1) by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk
4 Stars

This was an intriguing story with an original twist to it. It is set in a time where supernaturals are kept as pets in gilded cages. Aiden manages to escape and flies away. He was kept in his phoenix form for so long that when he changes into his human form, he is confused. The Magical Creature Underground brings him in and tries to help him. Lorelei works for the Phoenix Location Agency. She was hired to find Aiden and return him to his master. She manages to enter the Magical Creature Underground’s compound and realizes that Aiden is her lost love. When a phoenix rises again, they have no memory of their former lives. Aiden doesn’t remember Lorelei. Will she finish her job and return Aiden or can they rekindle the love they once had?

Interesting alliances are formed with surprising plot twists. Captivity will pull you in from the start and keep you wondering what will happen next. This is a quick, light read filled with action, surprises and a variety of fascinating characters. It is a delightful story that I’m so happy I read.

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2)Bound by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound by Via Mari a five-star read that will tie you up. This is the second novel in the Bound series and they each tell a great story and follow on from each other so it’s a good idea to read them in order. Via Mari writes good characters that will have your jaw dropping and you laughing out loud at the most inappropriate times, the writing is just that good. There is passion and drama a plenty in this story and you will be swept up in it all, there are twists a plenty to follow in from the first story. Jenny is just a strong character, she has been through so much in the first story and its still a fight for her, but her inner strength just makes her one of the best characters I have read this year.

Joined was a great 4 star read and book one in the Joined series.

You get all sorts of great things in this sci-fi book, humor, action, romance and so much more. I like being taken to another world and I really enjoyed this one.

Princess Meda was great, she has feistiness to her. She also has a love for reading. She has people out to get her, trying to prevent her from taking her rightful place as the next ruler. When things take a scary twist and she is forced to flee, she has Perseus assigned to protect her. Perseus was a little bit of a jerk in the beginning but he eventually grew on me. As these two spend more time together things start to grow between them.

Can they have something together? Will Perseus be able to keep her safe?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, I had several LOL moments. Mara pulls you right in with her writing, the world she created was amazing. All of the characters were great. I will warn that there is a slight cliffhanger. If your looking for a great Sci-fi read this is the series for you. 1-click and get started today.

My sentimental heart loves fairy tales and has a soft spot for modern reimaginings of my favorites. So I was hopeful of what I might find in these pages. Berla did not disappoint. Beau and Bett is such a fun, YA retelling of the Beauty and the Beast tale. I thought this take was fresh, well written, and well done. I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read and cannot wait to read more from this author!

I enjoy stories that modernize Greek Mythology and weave new and old into a story that holds the myth origins to their “truth”.

Orion’s kiss is just that type of story. It is YA and I think the targeted demographic will learn things without even realizing it. Well written with wonderful world building, this story had a little bit of everything. It moves at a good pace and held my interest from beginning to end.

Another well developed story that I recommend.

I also enjoyed the descriptive settings the author creates with her writing. It made it easy for me to visualize therefore making me feel that I was actually part of the story. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an OUTSTANDING read! R.M. Gilmore was a completely new author to me when I picked up 17 Marigold Lane, but she will now be on my top fav list! I must check out all that is available from her now! This book is one that completely consumes you from the very first page to the last twist and turn to the end. I found myself so engrossed that I barely noticed the ticking hours well into the early morning hours, sleep be darned. I was so sad to see this end, but find solace in the fact that there will be more Prudence Penderhaus novels.

Prudence Penderhaus… this girl! I completely fell in love with her character. She has been the girl that everyone loved to hate, bullied all through high school and struggling to find her place in the world. Everything is about to change for her with death sentence that she is giving. Who knew that the day she found out she was dying would in turn be the day she began to live? So many fantastic suspenseful moments kept you on the edge of your seat. The emotions are real and you feel everything right along with Prudence. I loved the supporting characters as well and was fascinated with the boy who looked like a character from a Tim Burton film. I can’t say enough great things, but I won’t spoil any of the good details for you. For that you will have to take my recommendation and one-click this 5 star read!

Orion’s Kiss by Claire Luana – Review by Moriah Venable

Orion's KissOrion’s Kiss by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Orion’s Kiss is a novel by Claire Luana. This is my sixth novel by this author.

I noticed the beautiful cover before read the plot.

Meriah Carmichael is forced to watch as her sister dies. Atleast that is her name in this lifetime. Before her name was Metrope who was a half nymph, half Titan. One of the sister tried to free their Dad Atlas from their curses but failed and got cursed themselves.

So now each lifetime, Metrope has to watch Orion’s, Zeus’ bodyguard kills her sisters but this time maybe she has found a way to stop him.

I really enjoyed this story. I don’t know much about Greek mythology but I always love stories that have that element in them.

Meriah was an interesting character and I thought it was cool that our name is similar just spelled different.

I thought Orion was some bad guy who enjoyed what he was doing but there was more to his character that I originally thought.

I look forward to reading more by this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Proper Impulse is the fourth book in the Jaded Lily series by author Zeia Jameson and my only complaint about this story is that it was too short. I’ve read each book in the series and I can honestly say that Milo and Juni are my favorite couple yet. While I enjoyed each character these two just had something the others missed. I loved Milo and his strait-laced approach to life. Milo definitely benefitted from having a little Juni in his life with her “hippy”esque look at life. Even though she comes off as a bleeding heart you just can’t help loving Juniper Jensen. It was fun seeing the other characters from the previous books, especially Luca and Padraig. I, for one, can’t wait to see what Ms. Jameson has in store for her readers next.

Captivity: A Paranormal Romance Novella (Captivity Book 1) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk – Review by Angela Hayes

Captivity (Captivity Book 1)Captivity by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3 ½ Stars

Captivity is the first book in the Captivity series by Molly Zenk and Sarah Biglow. It is a novella length paranormal romance and is a quick and easy read. The premise intrigued me right away, and I couldn’t wait to find out all about the interesting characters we would meet along the way.
I liked the story, but I think it suffered a little by not being longer. The story felt a bit rushed in places, and I felt like we were getting the abbreviated version, like something was missing. I had questions that I think more background information and building more backstory would have helped answer. Also, even though they were really intriguing, I had a hard time connecting with the characters, even though I really wanted to- I mean A Siren and a Phoenix, original and cool- right? But I think my lack of connection was due to not ‘getting to know them’ enough. Don’t get me wrong, this story is enjoyable, but I feel it could have been even better if it had just a little extra development.
I am intrigued by the story and want to know what happens, especially since we end on a cliffhanger- so I will definitely have to read the next book to discover how things play out.

Thank you, Ms. Zenk and Ms. Biglow!

The story Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd. by Christy Nicholas is a wonderful book that includes adventure and time travel. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself reading far into the night to finish. It is a book that is entertaining and very hard to put down. I loved reading about the character of Wilda. She is a retired Temporal Agent who now clothes those who travel to the past. She is a woman who is intelligent, strong, and stubborn. Wilda is also a woman whose life is haunted by emotions and memories. When a Traveler literally falls on her doorstep she finds herself returning as an agent. He is deathly ill. Along with her assistant and best friend Mattea, she must travel back in history to find the pathogen that is now claiming lives so that a cure can be found. Will Wilda and Mattea find the pathogen? How much danger are they in? They go to the past, what about their future? Read this book to find out. I loved the way that this story has so much detail. I felt like I was right there with Wilda and Mattea when they traveled. The story is emotional at times. There are heartbreaking moments. There is humor and sarcasm as well. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that has amazing and unforgettable characters. I highly recommend reading it.

The story The Season Finale (Paranormal Talent Agency Book 6) by Heather Silvio is the next exciting book in a series that I have loved ever since reading the first book. The series takes place in Las Vegas and includes supernatural creatures as well as humans. I loved reading about television reporter Elizabeth “Liz” Addison and Antonio “Tony” DiMaio. If you ask Tony, he will tell you that Liz is beautiful, intelligent, and stubborn. That is when he is not flirting with her. Tony is handsome and a were-panther. Liz, Tony, and the rest of the Paranormal Talent Agency are up against a time-traveling ghost. Tony is put in the line of fire. Will they be able to save him? What does the future hold for Tony and Liz? Read this book to find out. This book has suspense, danger, mystery, and romance. It had me turning pages to find out what happens. I was familiar with Liz as she appears in the other books in the series. I was happy that she got her own story. You can feel the romantic energy that goes on between Liz and Tony. I was rooting for them to find happiness. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story with amazing characters. I highly recommend both the book and the series.

Its official, this is my favorite of the Jaded Lily Series, not sure why but it had a lot of moving parts and each one had a lot of meaning. I’m so scared Im going to give too much away in this review because I loved every part of it.

Milo and Juniper’s first meeting in this book goes down as one of my favorite first meetings and the why was so completely awesome!

My other favorite scene was when Kerry first met Juniper…I was actually laughing out loud at Kerry’s rant.

This story dealt with many things, one being opposites definitely attract and that was done perfectly but one of the things that meant the most to me was Junipers cause. I felt like I was right there watching all of that play out and then the family aspect which affected Milo.

I have to stop as far as the storyline it will be too easy to post a spoiler if I’m not careful..I simply adored this book, it was a quick read packed full of non cluttering content and I can’t wait to read it again, as a matter of fact, I can’t wait to read all of them again.

This author is firmly placed on my one click no matter what list and I can not wait for more.

Many thanks to Miss Jameson for transporting me into Juniper and Milo’s world for a time, it was awesome!!

Captivity: A Paranormal Romance Novella is the awesome first book in the Captivity series by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. I had not read any work by either of these authors before reading this book but I will definitely be reading more – in particular, the remainder of this series.
As this is a novella, it’s a very fast read. You feel that you are just getting into the story and starting to know the characters when the story abruptly ends, leaving you at a vital part of the story…arghhhh
I loved the main characters of Aiden and Lorelei. Lorelei is so sassy and not afraid to say what she’s thinking. The authors did a really good job of developing exciting characters. They provided detailed descriptions of how the characters looked so you could picture the scenes in your head more easily.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what the authors have in store for Aiden and Lorelei next.
If you are a fan of fantasy/paranormal then I’d definitely recommend this book for you.

Happily Ever After – Brothers of Camelot Style by Necie Navone is a more in depth look at the wedding that takes place in My One Love. I loved reading everything that lead up to and the actual wedding itself along with the craziness that all of these guys cause.

The visual I got of the wedding would make any woman swoon, even those of us who want nothing to do with a big wedding.

These guys all own a small piece of my heart and the more books I read the more I love them. And the Moms, how could I forget them? Those women a great role models for us older ladies.

Captivity was a really enjoyable novella, it may have been a short read but it absolutely was not short on anything at all! I was pulled into the story straight away and my interest was held from beginning to end. The two authors writing melded together seamlessly and it was like reading a book written by one author, their writing styles complemented each other perfectly. Shifter books are probably one of my favourite paranormal reads so this book was definitely going to be a hit with me. I loved Lorelei and Aiden’s story, I wanted to keep turning the pages just see how their story was going to end. Lorelei has a job to do but also she can’t help what happens when she finally sees Aiden after all these years!
This is just the start to this series and I cannot wait to read the next book and see what happens and where the authors take the storyline!
