Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady
by TL Clark

This author does an excellent job on taking you back into history. I have read other books by this author and have enjoyed everything I have read, I will admit that even knowing I like this author I was a little unsure about this story only because I don’t normally read books from this era. I am ecstatic that I did decide to read it because it took me to a place of wonderful balls, parties, clothing, and then some not so flattering things from that time. Reading about Lady Anne and what she experiences during her “coming out ” season was entertaining, eye opening and made me really like her. She is naive about men and so choosing a would be husband is very difficult, it’s hard to know who has good intentions and who doesn’t. Lady Anne’s father makes things even more difficult for her but ultimately he makes the decision since that’s how it’s done back then. There are some wonderful characters in this story that I grew fond of. This story was so well written that I felt like I was there in it. I truly enjoyed this read with its happy times and sad ones, along with witty banter. I highly recommend this book.

I am a huge fan of C. A. King so when I saw this was the start of a new series, I was very excited. The first chapter was pretty metaphor heavy and got dark quickly. This book seemed to have more political threads woven into the story than past series by King but I kinda dig it. Brodie and Tails are extremely complex and I love a good revolution. Looking forward to the next book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady was a great 5 star read.

Lady Anne is at the age for her coming out and looking for a husband. She has been trained by her mother on how a young lady should act. She has many suitors, some are way older and definitely not anyone she prays will ask for her hand. Her dream is to find someone she can love. When she finally meets the one, he turns out to be the most perfect man and exactly what she was praying for. Can they have a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. It was great reading a historical romance, it’s been awhile for me. There was so much going on, not with just Lady Anne but her friends and family as well. It was interesting reading how women were to be seen not heard. I have to say I also had a LOL moment on her wedding night, it was great. I really enjoyed the ending and I look forward to reading more from this series.

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady by TL Clark is wonderful Historical Romance story that I loved reading. This is one of most favorite genres. I reading about how life was back then and how they lived. I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. The authors style of writing and her characters are very well developed and I found myself imagining what it would have been like to live in that time period. I found myself not only lost in the pages but a bit emotional at times as well. Lady Anne is a strong, intelligent woman who tends to say what she’s thinking about and it’s her first season. Her goal is a marriage match. Will someone catch her eye? What is in store for her future? Find out what happens next in this must read book.

I have a soft spot for regency romance and had high hopes for this book. The summary definitely grabbed my attention. Boy oh boy the book didn’t disappoint at all. I found the storyline to be engaging, the characters fascinating and well developed. Even with the social standards that were the norm at that time, I appreciated the personality we could still see in our heroine. Loved every single page and am looking forward to reading it again very soon!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book certainly didn’t disappoint following the high bar set by the previous books in the series. I find Frelick to be an extremely gifted writer, especially tackling the sci-fi/fantasy genre the way she does. It is written in a way that seems to translate well to readers who otherwise aren’t usually attracted to the genre. The characters are realistic and relatable. The plot moves quickly and keeps the reader engaged. There is a magic I found unfolding as I read. Minute by minute I found myself diving deeper into this universe and I loved every second of it. A fantastic book and one I will most definitely recommend to others.

This story definitely grabbed my attention from the start and kept hold the entire time. This book is a very good paranormal fantasy, with action, romance, adventure, and times made you look at the human race with wider eyes.I really liked the two lead characters Brodie and Tails, even though they had very different reasons for the way they did things they still had a common goal. There are characters in this book I completely disliked that have their own agenda and I found myself so engrossed that I’m hoping for their demise. This was very well written, easy to follow and entertaining. I don’t want to give anything away but this is a must read and I can’t wait to read what’s next. I highly recommend this book

5-Stars

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady by TL Clark was a compelling and insightful read. I loved following Lady Anne in this novel and greatly enjoyed reading her letters to her younger sister. It was fascinating reading what life was like for her during that time period and being privy to her thoughts that were not able to be shared at the time. She was a beautiful person and it was fascinating reading her opinion on the process of finding a husband compared to swine at the beginning. It was something I found hilarious but also true. This was such an excellent read and the story itself was easy to follow. This novel is definitely worth its 5-stars and I highly recommend it!

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue #3) by Donna Frelick was a great addition to the Interstellar Rescue. I would give this book a five out of five stars. I love Donna’s world and the story is just mind blowing. I love the multi genre and the characters that are developed beautiful throughout the book. Rayna is my life goal character; strong, independent, and sassy. I love her attitude throughout the book. Murphy is a deep character with multiple levels, some that he does not even acknowledge. Definitely a great read and near impossible to put down. I love science fiction when it is written like this!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eternity is the last book in the Captivity Series by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk. Like the other two books, this book is not one to miss. Biglow and Zenk brought life to their stories. The well developed characters to a well thought out plot to keep you engaged until the end. There are some surprises and a roller coaster ride is worth the read. I would be careful because once you start you may not stop until the very end. The characters are real and they belief in the Sanctuary but will a decision they make for the good or will it be their end?

I do not know about you, but when I see my favorite author releases a new book I am all about getting it first and fast. The problem is that I usually finish it right away and need to wait for the next book to read. C.A. King is that author. I love her stories. She really puts in her heart and soul into her work. You can always bet there is action, adventure, likeable characters, characters you do not like, far off lands, and many more exciting things. Dangerously Close To Extinction is no different. There is an adventure that makes you look around every page you turn to see what is going to happen next. The roller coaster ride starts on the first page and ends on the last page. I cannot wait to see what Ms. King is going to write next.

A PERFECT FIT is the first book I’ve read by Zoe Lee and I really enjoyed it. It seems as if some of the secondary characters may have been introduced in a previous book as they were all fully developed.

This is a quick and easy read that flows well from beginning to end. The humor and ease between the two protagonists was a refreshing change.

This book was the perfect fit for a nice evening read. While it was a little longer than I have been reading lately, it held my attention from beginning to end with only a minimum of skimming.

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Claimed by Via Mari is the third book in Torzial Affair series. Jenny Torzial has been accused of committing a crime, in which she is innocent. Brian who loves her is fighting nonstop to prove her innocence but she knows so much about the mob. The same mob that wants her and what she knows gone forever. The question is will Brian be able to protect her and will the relationship between Jenny and Brian be enough for what each want. I highly recommend reading this book and series to find out!

This book was the perfect mix between romantic and suspense I love the way Via Mari pulls me into a story and into the lives of such great characters. I find that the plots, the twists and turns, and the steamy scenes really are what make me read most of the author’s books in one sitting! I highly recommend this FIVE STAR READ!

Never give up! When all else fails and you have nothing left to lose, go for it! Ms. Banks’ writing left me entranced ad raw with emotion. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into the nightmare that is Jasmine’s life. The fears and dread to the love and lust between Angel and Jasmine pulled me deeper into the story. I just had to know what happened next.
This is a real page turner that left me hanging. I am excited to get into the next two books of the series.

Trouble In Mind: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2 by Donna S. Frelick My rating 4 out of 5 stars This book is the 2nd in the Interstellar series, and same as before, alien abductions are real. The characters are very well written, and the story line is great. This book is a wonderful romantic sci-fi with a nice amount of action and suspense. In this book we meet FBI agent Alana and she is in the process of discovering all details of a mother and son that were abducted. Joining in on the case is private investigator Gabriel. Now Gabriel knows more about this case than Alana and tries to keep as much as he can from her in the beginning. He knows this case is otherworldly. Alana soon realizes there is more to the real world than meets the eye, a world that most believe is just make believe. There is some good romance and some very intense scenes. Everything comes together in this book to make it an excellent second read in the series, although I do believe it could be read as a standalone. I can’t wait to see what else is in store with this series.

Al Capone at the Blanche Hotel by Linda Bennett Pennell – Review by Liz Vrchota

Al Capone at the Blanche HotelAl Capone at the Blanche Hotel by Linda Bennett Pennell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a new experience for me on several levels. For one, Linda Bennett Pennell is a completely new author to me. Secondly, I rarely choose to pick up historical fiction novels for the mere fact that sometimes I find myself bored with them. This was such a nice surprise on many levels as well. I was super thrilled to find a writer that wrote a historical fiction with a passion for it. It was evident in the storytelling and the details, the amount of work that went into making this book as authentic as possible while trying to keep the reader engaged and the story interesting. All this and more was found within the pages of Al Capone at the Blanche Hotel.

This book takes you all the way back to the 1930’s, but it keeps it relevant and here with the dual storyline being set in fairly current times. I connected with Liz, not just because we share names either lol, but because she was real and raw. I felt her emotions as she worked her way through the past and the present. I loved the supporting characters as well and they managed to never drown out what was going on. I can’t wait to see what else is available from Ms. Pennell now that I have found her. I hope whatever it is takes me away to somewhere far away and magical, much like this one. Go grab your copy, you won’t be sad that you did so! Happy reading!

The Flood by Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Liz Vrchota

The FloodThe Flood by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Flood is one of those books that will suck you into a deep dark vortex of suspense and drama. This is nothing new to me from the ever talented Meghan O’Flynn. I have devoured the majority of her books and fell into a twisted sort of love with her Ash Park series. This one was something I held to a somewhat high standard since I did know what O’Flynn is capable. As you can tell I wasn’t let down in the least bit and actually flove this one just as much as her other dark twisted novels.

I won’t divulge a whole lot more than what you get from the gripping cover and blurb. The book begins with a massive flood swallowing the small coastal town of Louisiana. Chad and Victoria were stranded on the roof of their house when what seemed to be a hero, a nice woman that offers to take them to safety. But as with all good and dark plots things are never what they seem to be at first impressions. I can promise lots of twisted and dark comes and throughout it is all done with a masterful flow and never overdone. Prepare yourself for those aftershocks and nightmares. The ending is fantabulous and done in a way I never saw coming, but ever so perfectly! This is not one you want to miss out on. I can’t wait to see what else is roaming around that mind of Meghan O’Flynns!

I have always found the Regency era to be fascinating just because I see where we are at now compared to back then. To read about women who were treated like property (and in all actuality, land was probably treated better than a woman) and add in all the loose tongues with gossip and I’m hooked. I’m also a little picky on my historical reads considering I have a degree in history but I do have to say I loved this! The dialogue to the storyline had me hooked! This author painted everything perfectly that the story flowed and I couldn’t put it down. Even the history buff in me was giddy!

The story A Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee is a book that I loved reading. It pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Daisy Rhys and Dunk McCoy. Daisy is sweet, intelligent, independent, and a good artist. Her interaction with Dunk comes at a wedding reception. Dunk is handsome and charming. He believes in no strings attached when it comes to women. That is until Daisy. The attraction between Dunk and Daisy is intense. There is chemistry and a connection between them. Is one night all that they will experience with each other? Dunk believes that she is perfect for him. Can he get her to understand the feelings that he has for her? What does the future hold for Dunk and Daisy? Read this book to find out. This story had my emotions going up and down the whole time that I was reading it. It has moments that are sad, moments that will make you smile and laugh, and romance that is steamy and will make the temperature in the room rise. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters introduced and interact with Dunk and Daisy. Dunk and Daisy are characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady by T.L. Clark is a brilliant example of a historical fiction novel. The author has done a great job of painting a very realistic and easy to visualise image of what life was life in Regency London.
My one and only niggle about this book is that I wasn’t overly keen on the cover. It isn’t something I would normally focus on but for some reason the cover almost turned me off this book. If you are in the same position I was then trust me when I pull out the old cliché and tell you not to judge this book by its cover. I was so surprised by how much I liked this story, and how much I liked the main character Lady Anne. I was beyond pleased that I gave this book a go and you will be too!!!
I really felt like I had been transported back to that era. The author provides so much detail that it is like you are right there with her. You are taken through the ups and downs of her first season and everything that entails.
If you are a fan of regency romance then definitely give this book a go!
