Murder Most Pemberley (Eliza Darcy Mysteries Book 1)

Romance is the genre I read most, but I love mystery too though it’s not too often I find one that speaks to me enough to read. Was it the mystery or possible love interest that drew me in?  I’m not sure but I’m so glad it did.

Eliza and her adventure to meet her Dad’s side of the family had to be more than she was expecting in every possible way.

Between the weird vibes she got from some family members, the love she got from other family members, to the flirtatious vibe she got from Heath she definitely experienced a roller coaster mixed with some whiplash.

I felt a part of the story from the very beginning and it never lost me and hope that continues through the series.

Well the author dove right into this one! Angie and her friends are kidnapped, Angie fights their kidnapper, runs away, and is arrested for the murder of her three friends all in the first chapter!!! Jake, Cody, and Brenda help Angie to overcome her trauma and assist the FBI in finding the man that tried to kidnap her. You will not want to put this one down. Like seriously, you’ll keep turning the page and before you know it, you’re at the end! 5 stars!!!!

Elizabeth Candew has a lot of things going on in her life but most of them aren’t going the way she’d like for them to. She’s divorced, has a child that was conceived after an affair, has a pre-teen son who keeps getting in trouble, a crazy and overbearing ex-sister-in-law, and the list goes on. It’s when she attends a party for Lady Lily Wear that things really start to get interesting.

I love that Elizabeth’s last name is “Candew” because I firmly believe that she can overcome the challenges that life is throwing at her. She has a lot of lessons to learn and she stumbles several times along the way but the end result is worth it. I enjoyed this book although I do feel that it slowed down considerably after a character is found murdered. Overall, I was pleased with this debut book by Ms. Hernon.

Murder and lies awaits her at Pemberley and she’s sure why it is all happening and not sure if she can figure out why. Along with her cousin Joy and man of her dreams, Heath, will Eliza figure out a murder and why her father left this all behind and will not speak of any of it?

This book surprised me and is so beautifully written that I was left speechless repeatedly. The flow of each poem is different but still amazing. I wasn’t sure what I was in for when I picked this up, but I was pleased with the gorgeous melody of each line I read.

I fell in love with the very first poem, “The Story of Me and What’s to Be” and I was afraid that the author put the best first. I was pleasantly proven wrong as I read each one as individual as the one before. Another memorable one was “Bits per Second, Tech Protectant, Descendant Who or What Expectant.” It brought me to tears and I found it incredibly relatable. The stories that are so wonderfully spun gave me more and more to think about.

I laughed and cried during this adventure and read each poem multiple times to soak them in. I highly recommend picking this up and reading with an open mind as it’s such a one-of-a-kind, amazing experience.

This is a contemporary cozy mystery starring Eliza Jane Darcy – a descendant of the original Elizabeth Darcy Eliza goes to England to attend a family reunion. While there she finds out about a secret involving her absent father. Most of the people at the reunion are strangers to Eliza.

During the trip, Eliza becomes an amateur detective, looking to solve a murder. Eliza is quite obvious about her snooping and funny enough, she keeps things from the police and leaves her fingerprints all over a missing person’s room. She does find some interesting things out – like a hidden tunnel system going around Pemberley.

The solution wasn’t obvious to me as I read this book. AS a contemporary cozy mystery that namedrops Austen character names a lot, I enjoyed the read. And if you haven’t read Jane Austen, you will still enjoy this story, too.

It was easy to read and keep flipping the pages as readers just want to know what’s coming next. First off I wish I could give this series and the author more than 5 stars. This is Peg and Darcy’s story. Peg has respect for those around him. To me he is hard as nails yet kind hearted. Basically don’t make him mad. Darcy is a firefighter who has earned her right to be in the firehouse and work beside her fellow firefighters. She too is hard as nails and extremely kind hearted. That’s where the story takes off. I will not give you any spoilers. You just have to read it to believe it. This author has quite the imagination, that’s what makes her stories so easy to read. When this author’s name comes up I don’t even see what the story is about, as I know I will be reading or listening to it soon. The characters are easy to fall in love with and the story is fast paced. Be prepared to bring those emotions with you. You will need them.

Oh my goodness where so I start !? Well first off it’s a loooooooong book do bake sure you have time to read it , once you start you won’t want to put it down ! There are trigger warnings in the beginning and please take heed to these 😉

First off I just love the cover art ❣️📕 what happens between the pages in mind blowing but before I go any further I just want to honour the author and say thank you for touching on so many subjects that people look at as taboo from ADHD , BPD , BDSM to many other things this is a real human story that will pull you and your emotions through the ringer and I guarantee you that you’ll enjoy every moment …..

Often I think subs chose the lifestyle because they’ve been hurt and the control they lost is regained but letting their Dom take control , it’s given willingly , it feels safe , am I making sense !?

Alice hadn’t had it easy , she’s experienced loss , abuse and pain and Reuben is her personal heroine and healing balm , both addictive and soothing and if I’ve got be honest I’d I was into BDSM I’d love a Reuben of my own 😳🙃

I did say it was a looooooong read but it was also over quickly and I think it’s because these people became real , I became part of their tribe , their lives , their love , their trial and tribulations ❣️📕

Spring break is supposed to be full of fun times, making positive core memories, but not for Angie and her group of three friends. One night during their spring break, evil was lurking. The night ended with the three friends being dead and Angie arrested for murder. The Girl Who Escaped follows Angie’s struggle to find the person who did this to them and with the help of FBI Agent Brenda Reynolds, she just may be able to do it.
The Girl Who Escaped is full of twists, turns, and excitement. Angie’s mental trauma and feelings are relatable. Each character was thoughtfully created, and the characters and the events are realistic. There were a couple of areas that may have been discrepancies, if they were not discrepancies then a little more information could have been used to ensure that they were not confused as such, but I still could not put it down and the possible discrepancies did not take away from the greatness of the book.
Overall, I highly recommend any mystery/thriller/suspense lover to read The Girl Who Escaped. Some events may be triggers for some survivors, so just be aware when you go to read this book.

Not my first read by the author. Won’t be my last either. The Antipodes Series just keeps getting better and better. Ouroboros is the third book in the series and a great read.

Cam is back again and this time it’s for his wife. She was taken and killed. He meets new friends along the way and catches up with old friends. Will he be able to survive? The quote I chose for Cam is: “I’m well, thank you. My profuse thanks to you for the antibiotics and painkillers. They undoubtedly saved my life.”

Highly recommended for Dystopian Romance lovers.

This is a great follow up to the first book in this series. After the horrific events at the end of the first book, and all that Melody and her best friends Lance and Imani were put through, this book shows us a bit more about the recovery process and the healing of the friendships between our main characters. Not only do we see how Junior and Senior year of college goes for them, but how the first few years after school turned out as well. This book is told from Lance’s perspective, for the most part, but has input from Imani and Melody as well. While I definitely don’t agree with all of the characters life choices, and at times found myself wanting to smack some sense into a few of them, I also found myself getting so lost in the story that the real world ceased to exist until I had to put the book down to do real world things. I can’t wait to see how this series ends.

We start off travelling from America to the UK for a family reunion. Then a murder happens during this event and we are there trying to find out who did this. I enjoyed the interaction with all the This is an extremely fun murder mystery I have to admit I was very concerned to think as I going to think this was the same as Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. At times this mystery made me laugh out loud as they are all eccentric characters which make this more enjoyable as they are cheeky to boot. It’s a cute Cozy Mystery to read.

Although I’ve read the first book in this series, I hadn’t read #2. I still really enjoyed this book and being able to read more about characters old and new and for the most part, it still made sense. I felt like the two main characters Cam and Freya really grow up and while their relationship deepens, they also feel like two very settled adults who’ve been through a lot but are also there for each other. I was a bit uncomfortable with how Amara was described as a Thai woman but other than that, I also enjoyed the many other characters in this world. So overall I felt like this novel is a bit more slow-paced than the first but it was still very much an enjoyable read.

This book comes with a warning from the author that it is not for young adults as it deals with very serious and deep ideas. Our FMC suffers with mental health issues and severe depression. Her HEA is supportive and helps her but you will possibly need to take breaks to deal with the heartaches! That being said it is well written and definitely a story worth reading (especially if you enjoy some bdsm).

Whew can I say that this book was AMAZING!! I have not read any books by this author before reading this one and I cannot wait to read more books by her! Anna is a character that is totally relatable who you just enjoy reading. Phillip is one who is learning more about himself and how to relax a little bit. Their ruse starts out as one that is make pretend but as the time goes on, they start having real feelings and that’s when this book gets even more intriguing! This book was just plum wonderful, and I cannot wait to reread it and let my friends know that this is one that needs to be added to their list of books to read.

This book comes with an author written trigger warning and it is there for a reason. Some of the details in this book are VERY descriptive and there are many things that are major red flags for many. Human trafficking, BDSM, knife play, choking, talks of and attempts of self harm. Murder, rape, and so many other topics that are concerning to many.

Just like any other work of fiction, detail is key to a good story. This book does not lack in detail. This is a very long read and it took me longer than normal to finish it, but it was OH SO WORTH IT. Ruben and Alice are fated and the way their love grows and develops is just awe inspiring to watch.

This is a new to me author and I am really hoping to read more about some of the other couples in this book. Would be wonderful to read about how they discovered each other and their dynamics.

So many things made this an interactive read that brought the reader into the story. From Eliza being from the Americas, all that’s going on with not only her family but the mystery itself to the flirty nature between she and Heath, this definitely steals your attention with ease. I love the style of writing, the dialogue and of course the action around this mystery. Very fun to read!

So enjoyed this!! I did not see the twists coming AT ALL! But I enjoyed them nonetheless! I was happy to read from Freya’s viewpoint in this book! She saw things and experienced things that Cam didn’t and it was refreshing to see her old character come back out. She is pretty amazing!

The thought process to write this book must have been immense! Wonderful writing that I haven’t read in awhile! Thank you, T.S. Simons for putting this out into the world!

Gah.. post apocalyptic dystopia Romance discovery adventure and danger all rolled into one.
Cam is on a journey of mourning grief and closure trying to find as much information as possible to share in the future with his son. He’s matured as have other characters in this story and you will follow a journey of re discovery, friendship, danger, and realizing wanting to have information may not always lead you in a positive location every time.
This book is best read in order to have a full understanding of why some events are so important to the characters and the full weight of how they impact decisions and feelings.
Yet again this author made me think, tugged my heart strings, made me gasp aloud at the thought of what desperate humans might do and even laugh.
Highly recommend the entire series!

This is a modern day retelling of Cinderella. We basically learn this by reading the prologue of the story, and I thought “ugh, this is going to be a cheesy read”. Ashley is our high school Cinderella, and Henry is her charming prince. She’s so done with finding any true love in this world, and honestly, just wants to finish school and get away from that dreadful stepmother. Fortunately the fairies, one in particular, takes on Ashley’s case, to see that Ashley finds love.

This is a light-hearted read, that read quick for me, despite my initial impression. Ashley and Henry click and the stars have aligned. However, Ashley’s stepmother and stepsisters have other plans and plot their way to spoil the happiness. Without saying anything else, you will just have to read this to find out how it ends.

Mmmmm where to start. I have mixed feelings about this book. MK has some wonderful stories out there especially The Immortal Series which I love.

Ashes is a fairy tale rock-star romance but with an interesting twist. This modern-day Cinderella is definitely intriguing and unique.

I like a retelling if it is done well. Unfortunately, whilst the premise of the story is a good one, I think that MK missed the mark in pulling it all together with the all the right elements, some actions and a few conversations and wording. That’s not to say I didn’t like the story because I did but with a few changes I think it could be a really good story.

Please give the book a read because these are just my thoughts and may not be your thoughts.

I love this series so much and I can say this….this story of Kristopher and Alessia….this story gave me some emotion from one minute smiling and happy to the next I was angry and mad at what they endured not only together but Kristopher himself…..

Kristopher Simon is the new head of a hospital in New York….he is totally driven in his career to be successful and also the love of his two children that he has. Kristopher is going though a separation and divorce from his wife, Hayley. Kristopher is really going to the end of the earth to make the divorce final and the ugliness that Hayley protrudes toward Kristopher, she wants to make it quite difficult. While on a medical work trip, Kristopher meets Alessia for the first time.

Alessia is out of her residency on becoming a doctor, she is so driven and focused on her career and the drive also comes from her family. When Alessia meets Kristopher, conversation is easy between them and sparks fly…but also having to be cautious knowing that Kristopher is going through a divorce.

Things are not easy at all and what they all seem to be for Alessia and Kristopher. There are secrets that are kept, anger, karma, plenty of betrayal…..but also the love between Kristopher and Alessia….is it worth fighting for?

This is another wonderful book in the Druid series! The author does such an amazing job bringing me into a magical world. The details in this book are so vivid that it makes me feel like I’m there. There are twists and turns and as always great characters. I highly recommend this book and the other books in this series. These stories will keep you captivated and wanting more.
