Ashes of Sin and Stardust (AnchorX) by Lindsay Murray – Review by Kerry Baker

Ashes of Sin and StardustAshes of Sin and Stardust by Lindsay Murray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a dark and intense story that I have to say surprised me. There are a lot of triggers in this book, so if you watch out for that then definitely read this boom cautiously – but so read it. The connection between these two characters was so strong and real that it easily carries the whole book. You believe in their connection and their journey.
I think the author does an amazing job with the way she tackles mental health. It is the perfect portrayal while still keeping the story momentum. This was an amazing book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

What a highly entertaining book this is! I wasn’t sure what to really expect when I started reading it but entertaining and funny was not what I would have said. It is a grrt murder mystery story that is combined with witty humour, interesting characters and a strong plot to go with it. I read this book so quickly because it was such a good read. I was hooked by what was happening and wanted to read more. I would highly recommend this book!

Cute read! I couldn’t imagine being friends with someone at a young age and having something devastating happen and your friend no longer remembers you. Then being around that same friend YEARS later. Super quick read for me but I enjoyed every minute of it. I love a good happy ending. Fast paced but still good! Check it out for sure!

Chase was Katie’s first love. They were high school sweethearts that had big plans. Plans that left Chase broken hearted the night Katie ended their relationship to go fulfill her dream in the city. When Katie comes back for a friend’s wedding and she runs into Chase, that’s when the story really gets good! I recommend this book.

The Liminal Space (Antipodes Book 2) by T.S. Simons – Review by Amy Brennan

The Liminal Space (Antipodes #2)The Liminal Space by T.S. Simons
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series is incredible. As I will read almost anything dystopian based, I was eager to pick this novel up, especially after being so hooked to the first installment. I enjoy the way that I have been learning more and more about Antipodes, and all the things surrounding such. The portals included in this novel, the way they believe they function, and historical facts and theories, keep the reader eager to know more, not just for the story, but to take that knowledge and build on it.

One of my favorite things when reading this novel is that it’s one of the only ones that I’ve read with a male’s first person narrative. I occasionally forget that, and get a little confused here and there, but that is my own doing, and it’s so refreshing to have that perspective. I have thoroughly enjoyed following Cam’s adventure so far, and look forward to reading the next installment. There were certainly aspects of this one that I didn’t see coming, at all! Highly recommend.

Rivals (Mafia Elite Book 7) by Amy McKinley – Review by Rebecca Hill

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the seventh in a series and can easily be read as a stand alone book. Each book follows a member of the 5 Italian American mafia families from Chicago. This book is about Mia Tucci from the New York mafia and Nico la Rosa. First of all, if you haven’t read this series, run, don’t walk and get it! I love it when a new story comes out. It feels like when a season of your favorite show starts and you get to hang out with all the characters – just comfortable and happy! This book started with a bang and caught my attention with Mia getting kidnapped. I was immediately drawn into her story and could hardly put the book down. There was a twist at the end that I loved, some of which I saw coming. I felt like this book wasn’t quite as explicit as some of the others, but I liked that. Well worth your time!

I LOVED this book so much! I have read lots form this author and I love how versatile she is but I have to say I think that this is definitely my favourite form her so far. I fell in love with the characters straight away. Katie was just an amazing character, I loved her so much, she was relatable, I connected with her – she was just a genuinely lovely person to read about and then add in Chase! Perfection the two of them! The way he stepped up and took in his nephew and the relationship that they had was wonderful. I loved every minute of this story and would highly recommend it to others!

This was a really enjoyable read, I loved the Jane Austen feel that it had to it – it was a really quirky story to read. Although there were links to Pride and Prejudice its not the same and it’s a great stpry in its own right. There were, I admit, a few predictable moments but even so the story was fun to read and I did enjoy it. The characters were fun to read about and I thought they were well developed. The writing was easy to read and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Aimee Wheels is a free spirit trying to make her way in the world. Sheik Qadir Saif-Ad-Din is a powerful royal. These two couldn’t be more different but when she saves his life he can’t get her out of his head. These two had really good chemistry. I really enjoyed the story and their interactions. I would have liked a bit more relationship development before they fall in love. This story is nice and adventurous and Qadir and Aimee are really good people. An enjoyable story.

This was such a great read. I really enjoyed it and I was engaged from the very beginning until the end. I’ve not read anything by this author previously but I will definitely be looking at the other books in the series. I liked Philip and Anna and enjoyed seeing their ‘relationship’ progress – I loved the connection that they had. The secondary characters in the story were great also. I just loved Anna – she was such a great character to read about, she made me laugh so much with her no nonsense approach to things – definitely the kind of friend you’d want!
Overall a great read and one I would definitely recommend.

So Marco thought his Elena had died 4 years ago so imagine his shock when he sees her again …

Elena just wants a normal life so she goes into hiding after giving up her position in mafia family but someone is out to get her and it’s not the enemy she should’ve feared but the one that claimed her heart so many years ago …..

What a Story!! I love reading this series! I can’t get enough! The storyline is fast paced and the characters are smart, sexy and have wonderful chemistry. I enjoyed meeting Mia. She really has that spunk and stamina that surprised me a time or two. The male MC we have jot seen a lot of and I actually grew to like him. He has no plans for love or marriage. I loved watching his turn around as he discovers all consuming love.

I loved getting to see ALL the previous characters. The women and their first meeting with Mia AkA the enemy is a memorable one. I do agree with Mia thoughts on the Five Families and how they protect and love fiercely. I enjoy watching/reading their banter and snuggles. Stephen is still one scary guy!

Overall I am saddened that this is the last in this amazing series! But we do have an opening for a spin-off. I have had many emotions while reading this book. I have ranged from love, humor and dislike with a few Wha?? Thrown in. I recommend reading the others in the series first! Trust me!

The author does such a great job. I just wish it was longer, I need more of this story!! A very quick read, it’ll suck you in and pull you under, and you’ll be done before you know it!

What an amazing story! Former high school sweethearts are pushed toward one another after ten years apart. The story contains several conflicts. The protagonist must compare small-town living with life in a big city. She must also stand up to a workplace bully on her own behalf. Growing up, growing older, and taking responsibility for aging parents and orphaned relatives are also themes that are present in this delightfully written, heart-warming tale.

This is a really heartwarming sweet, second chance romance story. It was my first time reading this author’s work so I was unsure what to expect. I’m glad I chose to read this book because I really enjoyed it.
I would have liked the book to be longer as i felt it came to quite an abrupt end. There was so much more scope to add to the story and at only 150 pages it felt more like a novella.
In saying that I really did enjoy Katie and Chase’s story. Both are great characters and I could easily relate to them. I adored the relationship that Chase has with his nephew Timmy and I have to say that little Timmy stole my heart.
The story is well written and flows well with enough action to keep you entertained and gripped by the story. I really would have liked to have read more about Chase, Katie and Timmy.
Definitely recommend, especially if you want a quick read.

Good grief ! I’m a hot mess ! This coverart has me all hot and bothered 🔥🔥🔥

Again , you can read this on its own but I highly recommend you read the previous instalments in this series , it’s not that you’ll feel lost but there are references to incidents/ people so you’ll enjoy a fuller experience reading them ❣️📕

Emiliana went through an extremely traumatic experience and this time we find out what happened to her and instead of fading she rises from it and she’s darker , braver and alert and will orotect those she loves with everything within her ❣️she’s always loved Stefano and it’s as if they were made for each other and yet they have to survive on stolen kisses …..

Stefano is my favourite 😍 there’s just something about him … he knows his Achilles is Emi and his father will easily use her as a weapon against him , he doesn’t want to hand over the throne to his son but he pays the ultimate price and he’s so evil I don’t think there’s a place in hell for him 😱

We finally get to find out who the deceiving so and so is and man let me tell you I also felt like breaking a few bones !

I like the friendship between the girls forming from all 3 books , I wouldn’t mind being part of their tribe 😉

Where do I even begin? This author has amazing talent! She gets you hooked from the very first book in the Mafia Elite series and keeps you wanting more!! As each book has come out in this series each storyline gets better and better. I can’t wait to read what is next to come!
In this book, we dive into Nico’s story. He is quiet, calculated, and never thought he could settle down like the rest of his Mafia family. When Mia Tucci tracks him down on an island only his family knows he’s at and holds a gun to his chest, it makes him very intrigued as to what she wants. She was the enemy but as they say, keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. Mia is in trouble with her evil father and stepbrother. Will Nico, the Five Families, and the Chicago Mafia help Mia end the rein of her sadistic, pour evil family all while putting a stop to the sex trafficking business that harmed one of the Chicago Mafia members?
This book is amazing and I loved how action-packed the storyline was. It also made me sad because it was the closing book to the Mafia Elite series. BUT now we still get to learn about the NY division of the Mafia!! I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

Well hello have you seen this cover !? I just melted into a puddle and wanted to yell “ take me , I volunteer” 😂🔥😱

So this is book #2 in the Mafia Elite series and it does help to have read book #1 but if you haven’t you won’t feel lost 😉

So Enzo and Sophia loved each other as children but tragedy rips them apart 🥲

Enzo is next in charge of his mafia family and years ago he distanced himself from Sophia to protect her and with the mafia duty always comes first but he’s never stopped caring for her and when she and is threatened he’s very quick to protect her ….

Sophia is the youngest and only daughter in her family so her brothers are soooooo protective of her but she’s determined to make something of herself as an up and coming fashion designer ….

Heading for Milan to show her designs I was starting to wonder if it ever would happen with the Russian around and there’s something or someone that’s very underhanded I hope they know what game they’re playing because they are going to get burnt messing with Sophia ….

I must just say I enjoyed the “ twist” of having a female assassin , a femme fatale , something different 🔥

Now to get onto the next instalment ❣️📕

When they both get paired up as each other’s plus one at a wedding, all the feelings begin to resurface. Can Chase forgive Katie for hurting him? Can she see past the work-driven, empty life she leads to find love again?

So Liliana belongs to one of the mafia families which makes her a mafia princess which sounds great but being a female she’s probably going to be married off to either a monster or an older man or both 🤮 in any case they do this to strengthen the family or for power … sick I know but daddy dearest is going to meet his match because our girl isn’t going down without a fight 💥😉

So Max is a soldier but to me he’s her knight in shining armour that will protect with his life and devour her in one bite 🔥💥 he’s is soooooo yummy and I’d offer myself on a platter to be protected 🤣😱🔥

There’s was enough spice and suspense to keep me on my toes but there was also a few tender moments , I know I’m twisted to say a mafia read has tender moments but hey it’s all in the eye of the beholder 🤣❣️📕🔥😉

Brilliant way to get into the families 😉

This is the 5th book in the Titans of Manhatten series and omg. I have loved all these stories but this one really tugged at my heart. The emotion that the author puts into the story is so real that the reader feels everything from pain and sadness, to happiness and everything in between.
This story is about Kris and Alessia.

Kris had it all. A good job, lovely wife, amazing kids. His life to him was perfect and he wanted for nothing. That is until his world crashed down around him when he found out his wife was cheating all throughout their marriage. Now he’s on his own fighting to see his kids and pushing hard for the promotion he wants. He plans to enjoy single life and just focus on him, his kids and work.
That is until he meets Alessia

Alessia has just got her dream job working in the emergency room. Like Kris her focus is her family and her career.
When she runs into Kris the connection is instant and when they give into their attraction one night of passion changes both their lives forever.

Alessia knows she should stay away from Kris not only do they work together, but with a very public messy divorce in progress it’s not ideal for a blooming romance but things get worse when a scandal looks to ruin all that they have.

Will they survive all the turmoil? Or will the pressure of Kris’s past be too much for them to overcome?

Remember to Forget Me (Too Lost To Love, #1)Remember to Forget Me by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a really beautiful love story. I was a bit confused at first about the characters as they seemed to have a connection but I couldn’t figure out why, however it all made sense as I carried on reading and it made the feelings and emotions understandable and a lot more realistic.

Addison and Wesley were young sweethearts. What a tragic event happened their were both injured, but Wesley ends up losing his memory of everything. Including his love for Addison.
After the event Addison is forced to cut all contact with him which breaks her heart even more but she does as she has been told. Why does she need to keep her distance?

Fast forward 10 years and they meet again. Wesley has a feeling he knows her, it’s like his heart knows her even though he has no memory of why he feels that way. Addison remembers Wesley all to well and her love for him has never left, so when Wesley asks to spend time with her she agrees.
What will happen if his memory returns? Will they be a happily ever after couple or will things come to light that will make Wesley hate her?
And without side forces working against them do they stand any chance at all?

This is a beautiful story about love, heartbreak, regrets and redemption. If 2 people have been in love, can that love still have survived even without them being aware of it?

So I’m usually very picky about what books I read. I’m more of a romance reader with the occasional mystery, thriller or science fiction. When I saw this book and read the synopsis I was intrigued. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book had my mind running from the beginning. I was not able to put it down until I was finished with the marathon. And what a run it was! I feel exhausted but relieved. The author does a great job capturing your attention from beginning to end. I also love that the author details at the end of the book what parts of the story are true and what parts are not. The detail is what makes this novel so intriguing, but the fact that the author did their research to help bring the book to life makes it that much better.

Everyone has a mindset of “that can’t happen to me”, until it does happen to them. The events in this book need to remind everyone that it CAN happen to you and teach you to be more vigilant during our every day activities; whether it is driving home from work or going to a crowded beach party. I most definitely recommend this novel to any crime/mystery readers. This one will not disappoint!

Just when you think a series can’t get any better this author shows you how wrong you can be! Book 5 knocked it out of the Park! This time we get to read the fantastic story of Kristopher and Alessia. They randomly meet at a conference but quickly find out they will be working together when they return. He will in fact be her boss! They know they shouldn’t allow the attraction between them to develop for that reason and so many more including the impending messy divorce for Kris and his truly cruel wife. So much happens with these two but I don’t want to go into too much detail and give anything away. This is simply a book with wonderful characters and a truly creative storyline that you don’t want to miss a single word of! Now it is book 5 in this series and it can definitely be read on its own and enjoyed but why would you want to miss out on the previous books? Do yourself a huge favour and read them too! You won’t be disappointed
