Eternal Bloom by A.E. Gamrat – Review by April Johnson

Eternal BloomEternal Bloom by A.E. Gamrat
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After her mom ends up in the hospital, Gwen knows nothing will ever be the same. She has so many questions and so few answers.
Will her mom survive? And if she does, will the tension in their relationship ease?
Will Kame come back for her?

No one knows the answers to all of life’s questions; Gwen’s only option is to hold on as the storm rages on around her.

Eternal Bloom by AE Gamrat is the second book in this series. I would highly recommend reading New Bloom before reading Eternal Bloom. Eternal Bloom picks up right where New Bloom ended. This is my second book by this author and I enjoyed reading both of her books. I truly enjoyed this duet. I found it to be a really accurate and great coming of age story. Just like the first one I found this on a page turner. I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see what else is available from A.E. Gamrat. Thanks for a great read!

Graduating college and knowing how the next chapter of your life will play out is a big deal, right? How

much more could someone ask for?

Gwen has always followed every rule her mother gave her. With her future planned for her, she never

really had the time for fun or boys. Never really learned how to let loose, go with the flow.

What happens when all the plans she thought were laid out for her are pulled out from under her feet?

Add in the mysterious man that pops into the flower shop stirring emotions she has never had before,

and she is in for the ride of her sheltered life.

Growing up is hard, and Gwen’s in for a growing experience she never planned on.

New Bloom is book 1 in a series from author A.E Gamrat. This was the first time I have read from this author. I highly recommend this book as well as book 2.
The storyline and the characters was amazing. New Bloom is a book that u can easily fall in love with. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2. have loved, you have a great storyline, brilliant characters and book that you can’t put down. A.E Gamrat has made this book easy to read and flow from chapter to chapter. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading Coming of Age books.

Eternal BloomEternal Bloom by A.E. Gamrat
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eternal Bloom by A E Gamrat is the second book in Gwen’s story and the relationship she is wading through with her mother.

Gwen’s relationship with her mother has been quite torn in the previous book and this book shines a light into how broken it was and what happens when something happens which rocks that connection and how Gwen will deal with that situation with her mom being ill.

Also Gwen is not sure about the relationship with Kame, they have a connection but there are secrets in his history, but also his communication is not the best and will put a strain on the relationship. Will Gwen be able to deal with all the relevant issues in her life?

The story like the first one is well written, with some thought provoking subjects which are brought up. The story concentrates a lot around the in thoughts of Gwen and although this is a great prospective to be in sometimes I think the story was stunted and took a while to get going again. I loved the strength that Gwen had although at times she felt she lack the courage and strength to deal with the issues.

I would recommend these two books as a great coming of age story.

New Bloom by A.E Gamrat is a great young adult story, this story brings the elements of life and no matter how hard you try to plan your life you will always be surprised how you eventually end up.

The story revolves around Gwen and her life after graduating from College, she has always followed the rules and her mother’s wishes which has left her little time to truly enjoy her life to the full. She has had her life planned out but has never really enjoyed experiences as she has always been focused on the end goal.

So when she starts living life she becomes confused and uncomfortable to the point that she feels she is losing control and sight of her goals which throws her into turmoil.

I enjoyed the style of writing and the fast pace nature of the story, I felt that it took a while to get into the book at the beginning but once I started to get invested into the story it was brilliant. I loved the two characters and the contrast between them, Gwen being very naive and sheltered to Kame blowing her world and throwing into a whirlwind of what she believed she was destined for.

Eternal Bloom (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat was a emotionally raw, kick to the feels, that may have cause some tears to slip.

Before we start I must warn you this is a duet, and is the second part to it. I highly suggest you read the first book before going into this one, as there is much need back information, character development, and general plot devices that will be needed in order to fully understand, and embrace this emotionally raw punch to the heart.

This book makes up for my mixed feels in the first. The beautiful crafted writing is carried over and you can’t help but be sucked into Gwen’s heartache, mixed emotions, and the sh&^ storm that seems to be getting out of hand. The once sheltered Gwen is coming into her own at a fast pace, and for a bit I was worried it might be too much for her. But, I have to say, Gwen fast became a strong, solid complex character that shone.

As this book is the second and final, I’m going to keep the review a little short as I don’t want to start gushing and spoil this gem. But I need to you know that this book, this duet, is something special. It’s a must read for not only those that are trying to find their place, but for anyone that has a heart. This has things we all can relate too, and experiences that will bring you back to that time in your life, when everything felt like it will fall apart.

So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will be invested, and will be reaching for those tissues.

Happy Reading

New Bloom (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat was a coming of age story that will grip your feels and take you on a emotional rollercoaster.

My first read by this author, I didn’t know what I was getting into, as I don’t really read these types of books. But it’s always good to get out of your comfort zone. I will say this book wasn’t what I was expecting, and I do have some mixed feelings about it.

Let’s start with some aesthetics, the writing was smooth, clean, and easy to follow. The detail was rich and painted a vivid picture of the world that A.E. Gamrat has created for us. I felt like I could jump in and be apart of the story. I loved how the tone shifts matched the scenes and added to that emotional kick that this story will give you.

Now, why do I have mixed feels. Well, it has to do with how sheltered our MC is. It was borderline abuse, and as someone who grew up in a very rural town, I’m talking the middle of nowhere, about 200 people give or take. I know what it’s like to be sheltered. But at the sametime I wasn’t naive about. There is just so much information in the world, that the way our MC was present it, made me feel like she was locked in a box most of her life. That part of it was a little, unrealistic for me. So I did have a hard time connecting at first. But she did grow on me as the story went on. Now the mother… she had more mood swings, and character shifts then I could shake a stick at. I didn’t care for her, and frankly the I didn’t feel much for her, just for Gwen.

Overall this book is a engaging, entertaining read that will hook you. The overall plot, and storytelling is addictive and you can’t help but keep reading. So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get lost in this tale about what it is to grow up and make those adult like decisions.

Well the second book is just as addicting as the first. I was not disappointed! The journey
for Gwen continues as it does for her family and friends. I was on the edge of my seat from the
cliff hanger from book one and I was not let down. I found that the author had such a great
writing style that I once again felt as though I was going through the emotions alongside Gwen.

This concluding book in the duet really brings things full circle and draws even more on the
heart strings than the first. I was so torn from the first book on the way Gwen’s mom had reacted but I felt as though through this book I got to know not only Gwen more but her mother as well. I found that the author really brought life to the mother daughter relationship and this is what makes the book so real. As well as the way in which she also brings the relationship between Kame and Gwen slowly through the book is so unique and refreshing. I like the fact that it is a bit more realistic than all hearts and flowers. I really enjoyed not only the first book but this book as well. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

I have again delved into the created world of another new author. I have to say that I quite enjoyed this book. The author has a great writing style that keeps you glued to the pages. I really didn’t want to put the book down.

This first book introduces you to Gwen and her friends and family. I really enjoyed this first book as I felt that I could really relate with Gwen. It was a very great start to the build up that I
was sure to come. The author has just enough intensity to the plot that you can really find the
characters relate able. I definitely found the dynamic between Gwen and Kame to be unique as well as how her relationship with her mother progressed and sort of declined. There is just so much realism to the whole situation that I found myself feeling the emotions as if I were Gwen. I really look forward to reading more from this author and the second part of this duet.

This second book picks up exactly where the first one left off. Many books I have read in the past pick up a few months later, etc, but this one I appreciated the immediacy of the continuation of the story. Make sure you read the first on, New Bloom, before you march into this one. Gwen’s life is in an upheaval. Her mom is in the hospital and her prognosis is not looking good. My heart was literally aching for her. You could feel the sadness, uncertainty and fear from Gwen within the paragraphs of the book.
The supporting cast of characters in this book are phenomenal. I love Gwen’s dad. Kame is an interesting character. Both in this book and the last I had a love hate relationship with him so I am not sure how I truly feel on this one. I highly recommend this book and the first for an easy Sunday read. Passion, raw crying and full emotions are on point with this one so keep the Kleenex’s close by.

This is a fantastic book. This coming of age/romance novel has just about a little of everything to make the perfect book for this genre. Our main character is Gwen. She is freshly graduated from college and is trying to sort out what she wants to do with her life. I love how the author has brought to life the struggle that some girls face with a tough mother/daughter relationship. Gwen realizes that she has lived a very sheltered life, partly because of the choices of her mother, and when she begins to see the slivers of the outside world, they do not see eye to eye on how she could continue. Gwen is trying to figure out how to stand on her own two feet and stand up for what she wants. When tragedy in her household strikes, all of that is put on hold.

This Author did fabulous job of bringing to life the struggles of being a young adult and the emotions you feel during that time. I appreciate the effort that it took to bring such detail to life. I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait for book 2.

New BloomNew Bloom by A.E. Gamrat
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

New Bloom by A. E. Gamrat is the first book in the duet. Ms. Gamrat is a new author to me and I was intrigued by the cover and the title. New Bloom means to me as a fresh start. I see the roots growing as a child through the first 13 years of the child’s life. In the teen years the green start to take form and build up. This the important part of life. Parental impact is slowing becoming a thin line in which the teen is following the rules but trying to break free on their own. The bloom of the flowers is the adult years while in college. The young adult is trying to find their way in life. The more the young adult is productive the more blooms the plant will grow. In a nutshell this is the story of Gwen. She followed her mother’s rules. She just recently graduated from college and is coming home to learn about the florist shop of her parents. She is a ground young adult and has some blooms in her flower. Then in comes a customer, a male customer and in Gwen’s life she is feeling something she has never felt before. This is where Gwen can continue to grow blossoms or she can start to wilt away. Gwen is a strong woman, but is still a little scared because she does not want to fail. Will Gwen’s blossoms grow or will her life take a turn and start to wilt? You will have to be the judge of this and more.

Eternal BloomEternal Bloom by A.E. Gamrat
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in A.E. Gamrat’s Bloom Duet Series. I would not read this one unless you have read “New Bloom” previously. That one really sets you up for this novel. In this installment Gamrat really focuses on the relationship between Gwen and her mother. We still see a real evolution of character with Gwen by the end of the novel but that comes about because of the storm that blows up all around her with her mother’s declining health. We also continue to see more of her and Kame. They are still going back and forth. Kame would in a heartbeat make her his. Gwen is still just not sure. She knows for sure a few things though… Her mother doesn’t approve, and he definitely has some secrets. With the chaos of her mother’s health the last thing she needs is a confusing and secretive man.

Holy cow the emotions in this book were real! As a mother, my heart broke, heck as a daughter it broke. As a woman that has been there and just wanted to find my place in a world that is just so very black and white sometimes, it broke for her. I just wanted to embrace Gwen so many times and tell her that eventually this too will pass like all storms do. Gamrat really has a knack for writing a realistic relationship and the complexities that come with it. Nothing about Gwen’s story was unbelievable, and that made this novel so completely immersive that I found myself extremely gripped. I couldn’t put this down and I honestly wanted more.

I truly enjoyed this duet. I found it to be a really accurate and great coming of age story. I myself feel like this is one I will be shelving to share with my daughter in the near future. I can’t wait to see what else is available from A.E. Gamrat, and what will come in the future. Thanks for a great read!

New BloomNew Bloom by A.E. Gamrat

I was completely new to A.E. Gamrat when I first picked up “New Bloom”. I saw the absolutely gorgeous cover and just had to know what the story was that laid on the pages between them. I am so glad that I picked it up. I do have to say, it was a bit slow on the uptake at first. Once I did get into the story however, I was hooked and very grateful that the second book, “Eternal Bloom” is already available to read.

In “New Bloom” we are first introduced to Gwen. We really get the feel for her as she starts life after college. Before I really get into where this is a coming of age story and how she finds herself and her place in life I want to touch on another part of the story that really hit home with me. Ok here’s the deal, Gwen is an only child, but she also struggles with a lot of issues that an oldest child often deals with. I saw this struggle because I am the oldest daughter of three. I also saw her side of being an only child as I have just one daughter. We often tend to expect a lot of our single children as parents. Especially, those of us who wanted more, but were not able to for some reason or another. It is a struggle that I have faced a lot in my lifetime. I am not making excuses for the character her mother is. (She is a wreck and not very good with the motherly instinct. I was really struggling to not scream out loud at this woman several times.) However, I know that this is my only chance, my only time to experience motherhood and all its firsts. I won’t get a redo, or another go around. I could see where her mother was struggling with that and projecting it on her daughter throughout both of these novels. This was just as much of a strong prevalent story line in the novels as the coming of age story that was portrayed with Gwen.

With that said, this really sets the tone for things. Gwen has been groomed her whole life to be the prefect daughter. Now that she has graduated college that expectation really hasn’t changed, and she is now moving home to help out with her parents flower shop. Gwen is trying hard to find her own voice and balance her relationships. She is struggling to figure out how to do all of these things and still be everything to everyone. Then a new relationship is added to the mix when the mysterious and handsome Kame walks into the flower shop and her life one day. Something isn’t quite what it seems about him though… Watch out for that cliffhanger. Like I said though the second book, “Eternal Bloom”, is available now.

We start this story were book one stopped. Gwen is in a cycle of uncertainty. With her mom in the hospital and her boyfriend MIA. You can definitely see a difference in the writing from book 1 and book 2. It was a smoother read. Gwen’s character has some growth but you can tell she still holds a lot back from others. You can also see that she is holding a lot of resentment towards her mom. It all seemed a little too perfect. I love a good HE A and this story ended well. You see A change in a lot of the characters. The biggest was Kame and Gwen’s dad. Over all it was a good ending that made you have a little doubt to it being over officially like maybe we might get a third book.

The story NEW BLOOM (Book 1) (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat is a new adult/college book. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about Gwen. She is a young woman who has just graduated college and believes that she has her future sorted out. She is a strong person who is not always the social butterfly. She enjoys staying home and watching a movie instead of a night out on the town. What happens when the future that Gwen has for herself suddenly changes and there is an appearance of a mysterious man who she feels connected to? Read this book to find out. I found myself empathizing with Gwen on the situation that she finds herself in. The conflict between herself and someone she loves is one that although she could see coming was still hard to take. Gwen is someone who wishes for approval and she doesn’t feel that she is being taken seriously as an adult. The feelings that she has for the mysterious man that has entered her life surprises her. She is also confused when a situation happens that cause questions to be raised. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down. It is a wonderfully written book that I would recommend reading. It is part of a two-story series and has a cliffhanger ending. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

The story Eternal Bloom (Book 2) (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat is a new adult/college book. This is the second book in a series and the books need to be read in order to fully understand what is happening. This book picks up where the last one left off with Gwen’s mother in the hospital and with the uncertainty that both she and her father feels. Gwen has so many questions going on in her mind and the primary one is if her mother will survive. If she does will their relationship be smoother than before or will the divide that separates them be just as wide? I liked the fact that Gwen has those who support her through this time in her life and they are true friends and are just like family to her. Gwen is also asking herself if Kame will come back to her. He has said that he wants a relationship with her, however, there are doubts in her mind that she finds hard to put aside. What will happen with Kame and Gwen? She feels the pull that he has on her soul, are they meant to be together? Read this book to find out. This part of Gwen’s story is tumultuous, and uncertainty is a part of life. While Gwen is dealing with all that is going on I like that fact that she is ready to stand her ground on issues important to her. This part of Gwen’s story had me glued to the book until I had read the final page. I just had to know how it all turned out. It is as wonderfully written as the first book and I enjoyed reading it.

Eternal Bloom by A.E Gamrat is the second installment of the Bloom Duet. This books starts where book 1 left off. I recommend reading New Bloom so you can get the background on the main character. Gwen’s mother was admitted to the hospital and she is dealing with the possibility of her mother not able to fully recover. Gwen’s life seems to be going downhill and losing grip. She also fears that her relationship with Kame will also fail due to her mother’s health and also the fact that her mother was not fond of Kame. He is has communication issues and seems to be hiding something. This story concentrates more on Gwen’s relationship with her mother and her inner turmoil dealing with her current situation in her life. Gwen’s grows a lot within the second book and is much stronger compared to the first book. I truly enjoyed this book duet and recommend to any that enjoys YA and Coming of Age books. I am pretty sure there are plenty of readers that can relate to Gwen’s story.
