This is a brilliant book that is perfect to help kids navigate different situations. The book is a great learning tool for kids and it is one that we enjoyed reading together. I loved that it was a collection of short stories. It meant when I reading it, my children didn’t get bored or distracted and it meant we could keep coming back to the book until the stories were all finished. This is an inspiring story that was a hit with the whole family. I would highly recommend this book.

Bravery comes in all shapes and sizes you just have to find it. Brave Kids, is a collaboration of short stories written by 24 authors from all over the world. Of course, this would not come about if it wasn’t for the wonderful storyteller & Illustrator K.J. Kaschula. Each author used their imagination, hopes and dreams to get them to where they are today, and each share a short story to encourage the same in others. It is aimed for kids from 6 – 12 years and it is hoped that each story will inspire children to go after their heart’s desires. To believe they are special and can do and become whatever they are meant to be. To be a beacon of courage. Each story is very special I liked them all but two stood out for me are: Janice Pratt’s story Amaleigha Tames a Bully: Kindness Can Change a Hard Heart. Amaleigha is one clever girl and is passionate and she wants to share it with others. There is a message here and it is not just for kids. Adults could use it too. Susan Ernst’s story Chann is Called to the Principal’s Office melted my heart with her wonderful story which she dedicated to the children of Cambodia. This is a fantastic short story book to read and/or have children read. These are encouraging stories that really do help young ones look at things with new perspectives. I read these with my grandson. Our favorite was “Tonight is the Night.” He is autistic and some nights its hard for him to sleep alone. This story really caught his attention. We are working our way through the book for the second-time (oh, yes, this is a favorite obsession now. 🙂 ).

Brave Kids: Short Stories to Inspire Future World-Changers is your brave kid’s personal guidebook to understanding bravery which comes in many forms, magically appearing in many different situations and locations, like an airport, a hike, in school, or even at home.
Sometimes when you dream, it takes a while for it to become a reality. I have wanted to write books since I was a little girl and fell in love with my hometown library. I read books at school, at home, in bed, and even in the bathtub. I just couldn’t get enough of faraway places, brave heroes and heroines, and the experience of getting lost in a new and amazing adventure in each book. Through the years, I became the owner of a preschool, a public librarian, a school librarian, and a children’s yoga teacher but no matter what I did I shared stories with children. Finally, at age 62, I published my first book but I know it won’t be my last.
