Squid (Moto X Book 5) by Brooke May – Review by Angela Shirley

SquidSquid by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Levi Crowe is a player and man-child, living a privileged life with a trust fund income he can just do whatever he wants. People flock to him or shall we say women and he welcomes them with a night of passion with no strings. Although deep down he is scared by the be trail of an ex-girlfriend and has his heart on locked for a long time until one night all that changes when he discovers the women who turns him down.

With this shock he is then plunged into shock when his parents have also had enough and take away all his money and make him go to work at the family law office, Levi thinks this is a bad idea until he turns up and does not have his corner but is an assistant but what is even more unreel is that the lawyer he is assisting is no other than Kindle James the woman who turned him down in the bar.

Things become interesting and can Kindle reignite the fire and ambition deep in Levi to be a great lawyer and a better person?

This is he first story I have read by this author and it was well written and the characters where well developed. To say I was not a fan of Levi in the first few chapters would have been an understatement, his constant whining and pitiful destruction was not my cup of tea and to be honest I was his friends I would have told him to do one, lol.

Then, half way through the book you started to see the true character of Levi which was great to read, although I wish this had started earlier, the way the author wrote the two main characters weaving through there feelings was brilliant but I felt at times that it was a bit rushed.

Saying that the storyline was brilliant and it did have me deeply engrossed wanting to find out will they, won’t they but unfortunately I am staying mum and you will have to read the book to find out. I would like to read more of this author and especially see the stories if their are regarding the secondary characters in the book and how there relationships started and bloomed.

This book has everything you’d want in a great love story. The main character in this book, Jax Hunt, is a sexy man who has so much of his life in front of him. However, he has lost hope because he is in a wheelchair and he feels like all women see when they look at him is his disability. When he meets Lennox, he is willing to do whatever it takes to show her the man he can be. Can they work through all of the obstacles in their way to be together? Or is this just another dead end for Jax? Read this book if you love romance, conflicts, and entertaining characters.

I loved this book so much! It was actually the first book of this series that I read. I will definitely be going back to read the others now! Kindle and Levi were absolutely perfect for each other and I loved both of them so much. I really enjoyed reading the entire book from his point of view because often that does not happen. The book had the perfect amount of comedy and romance and it was just so good.

This was a great story with relatable and lovable characters in it. My love for this book is prompting me to explore the rest of the series and meet the other characters.
Levi was a guy on a higher mission. He wanted to lose his party boy ways and find his happily ever after, but was fearful of the rejection. As the story develops Kindle is introduced and our party boy starts to find his way and live his life differently. Kindle and Levi together are quite the pair and the connection and dynamic between them both will make it difficult for you to put this book down.

This is the second book I’ve read from this author, but she has blown my mind yet again. This is the fifth book in the Moto X series. This can be read as a standalone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I recommend reading the first four books before reading this one so you can get a better understanding with everything. I was so excited when I got this book, I stopped everything, and I started to read this book immediately. I was hooked on these characters right from the beginning. It only took me a day to read this awesome book. I highly recommend this book for any and everyone who is interested in reading. You will not be disappointed.
Levi Crowe us known as the party boy. He has everything that he could ever need at his disposal and a body and skill that all women drool over. He has the time of his life every weekend and legendary black outs that are a good source of laughter for everyone but him. But the truth is, he is worn out. Nothing changes until he’s rejected several times by the same woman that he can’t get out of his head. A series of events leads him to getting his life on a better track and here enters Kindle James, his rejector. Now, he must prove himself to more than just her because both of their careers are at stake.
Kindle may just prove how much of a squid he truly is at being a functioning adult.
Will everything work out?

This book is yet another fantastic addition to and already amazing series. I was pulled right back into this author writing style and could not out the book down. I knew I had to give myself the time as it would be a one sitting read. I loved everything about this book and it has spurred me to reread the whole series.

This is the fourth book in the Moto X series, and this is the first book that I have read from the author. This is a really good book and i was not disappointed. This can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the first 3 books before you start on this one.
Jax Hunt is tired of only being seen for his disability, he is ready for a change in his life. He has a career that he may have not had dreamed of but loves no matter what. He has stubborn friends who’d do anything for him, and a family who attempt to understand his situation. Lennox Austin strides into his life with her unique eye color and entertaining personality. He is consumed by her just as much as he is to prove himself to the world, but an overprotective brother sits in his way. Will Jax and Lennox make it out in the end? Is Jax ready to Bottom out?
I highly recommend this book for any and everyone.

Squid (Moto X Book 5) by Brooke May. This series has been so fun. I can’t wait to read the next and last one. This is the story of Levi is a spoiled brat man child. He is used to daddy taking care of him and when he gets cut off he’s not sure what to do. He has to go back to his law degree and work with his dad to earn a living. Levi is not used to being turned down by women but when his new boss, Kindle James lights his fire she sets him straight really quick. She is his boss only, nothing more, nothing less. The only problem with that is once Levi sets his sights on something he doesn’t quit until he has it. Truth be known Kindle really is attracted to Levi she just doesn’t want it to interfere with her career. Will Levi wear Kindle down or will she keep her wall up so she can pursue her career? Read Squid to find out!

Such an enjoyable contemporary romance story that was hard to put down. I loved the characters in this book. Levi is all about having fun, partying and having the looks and money to go along with it, but you learn deep down he also has been hurt in is past. Chance encounter Levi meets Kindle….and I could not help but to love her in this story. Kindle is a strong and career driven woman who know what she wants…..but she does not want Levi. When Levi’s father puts Kindle in “charge” of Levi in their law firm things change. There are definite sparks between Kindle and Levi, and I was rooting for them throughout the story. Will Kindle take a chance on Levi? Definitely read and find out!

This book was a great read filled with sizzling chemistry and great characters!

The thing I loved most about this book is the realistic dialogue. It’s the kind of dialogue I can relate to. I liked that it was straightforward and not full of fluff wording! Read as a standalone, it was easy to get into, realistic, and steamy!

Everyone has known a guy like Levi, and it is nice to see him challenged by someone. Kindle is a good character and the author builds their tension very nicely. I enjoyed their time together and was satisfied with the ending. The jealous interlude serves as a tangle to the ultimate goal, which I understand as a method, but I am glad it didn’t last longer than it did!

I would definitely try other book series by this author!

I enjoyed this contemporary romance which is book five in the ‘Motto X’ series, but it can be read as a standalone story. Levi Crowe is best known for being a good time, party boy, with plenty of money and a body that women drool over. His weekend ‘black outs’ are legendary and provide a good laugh to everyone, but him. Underneath, Levi is worn out and unhappy, but it’s not until the same women, the one he can’t get out of his head, continuously rejects him, that suddenly Levi wants his life to change. Levi manages to get his life back on track, and is happier, but then, the women who rejected him, Kindle James, comes into his life. When both their careers are at stake Levi has to prove himself, but not only to Kindle. Can he really be a functioning adult though, especially when he attracts the attention of a stalker. This fairly quick read is full of great characters, and a storyline which kept me happily turning the pages. An enjoyable and engaging read, and I’m now keen to read the previous books in this series.

Well what’s not to love when one of the main characters has the name “ Kindle” ❣️📕😉

So Levi is more than just what’s in his trousers and his philandering ways he’s quite bright actually but he’s lost his way a bit and I’m proud of his dad for making him work his way up as opposed to having everything handed over on a platter !

So Levi is used to woman falling at his feet so when Kindle doesn’t take kindly to his advance he has a bit of a reality check and even more so when he has to work under her in the company ….

Levi hides behind his hurt and he does mature along the way but I must be honest when I tell you I had a soft spot for him from the start and Kindle’s sure to follow in my footsteps 😉❣️

Kindle , girl I love your name ! I love your sass and heart ! You’re one in a million 😘

This is the fifth book of the series. It can be read as a standalone. I didn’t read any books prior to this one and I didn’t feel like I missed anything but I’m assuming supporting characters were introduced in the other books.

Levi thought he had it all until it all went wrong. He decided no more relationships. He would play the field and party like the best of them. That is until he meets Kindle and is knocked on his butt. She’s sassy and independent. She’s also the first one to turn Levi down – multiple times. He can’t get her out of his mind. After a chat with his dad, it’s time for Levi to grow up. He was reluctant to go into the office but he ended up with quite the pleasant surprise.

I couldn’t put this book down! I loved every minute of it. There were some chuckles and some holy crap moments which only added to the story. I definitely recommend reading this book. I am going to go read the rest of the series.

For the past seven years, Levi has not had a care in the world and gave up his dream job all because his heart was shattered. Levi has everything women want. All the money he wants at the tips of his finger, sexy body, the life of the party every weekend and he has his pick of any woman he wants. Or so he thought! The night he was turned down for the first time ever would be the very same night his whole entire life would change.
Kindle is a drop-dead gorgeous bad a**. Quick-witted with her sassy remarks and hidden under her leather jacket is one fierce lawyer. She has all her ducks in a row, great job on her way to making partner with the law firm, a cozy house with a crazy roommate, Kindle has it all. At least until Levi comes barging into her life.
This is the first book I have read in the series but I was able to follow along rather quickly. It was a great fast-paced page-turner. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.

Great read. At first I didn’t feel the least bit sorry for Levi and how his life was going thus far. He made his own bed. I can understand losing someone you thought was the love of your life and the way he did could be heartbreaking but, some time has passed, move on, grow up. Kindle and Levi are great together, and I am really happy to see him thriving and bettering himself finally. My favorite part of the book is the character Claire, it blows my mind how much of a psycho and how full of herself she is, it had me cracking up a couple times because of the lunacy that is her.

Squid is the fifth book in the Moto X series by Brooke May. As with the rest of the series, this is a very enjoyable contemporary romance- with chemistry, drama, self-discovery, finding love unexpectedly, reforming wild ways, character growth and development, banter, and some emotion.
This is the fifth book in the series, but it could easily be read as a standalone. Having said that though, you will probably want to get your hands on the entire series to binge on- because one book won’t be enough to satisfy your Moto X appetite.
Brooke May has a talent for creating interesting and endearing characters who are fully realised individuals with their own unique quirks and flaws. It was so easy to connect with Levi and Kindle- and I was quickly invested in them and the outcome of their story.
Can’t wait to see what Ms. May brings us next!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Brooke May!

This is the first time I have read anything by this author. The way she makes me dislike the main character Levi is unmatched. I disliked his whole entitled attitude and the way he thought he was God’s gift to women. His drunken womanizing ways was just icky. Then as the story evolves and Levi is made to grow up and become a REAL man, I start liking him. This book has some funny parts and some serious parts but the chemistry between Levi and Kindle is definitely there from the moment they meet. Good story, I will read her stuff again.

I enjoyed this book. Although, I have not read the rest of the series, I think it is easy to follow along without having the story from the other books. This was another book that I could not put down and finished in a day.
“Squid: A rider who could use some training on his form and technique.” This is exactly the term to describe bachelor, Levi Crowe. He knows how to please the ladies but relationships, that is a whole new ballgame to this man. He has got everything he thinks he needs, fun times, friends, booze, and women that swarm around him. But he gets a rude awakening when Kindle enters the scene. She doesn’t want anything to do with this man, she has made it clear. So why can’t he get her out of his head?
Levi goes through some challenges and some life changing events. He gets a stalker that he can’t seem to shake. He must excel at his career and change the way he looks at life. Will this be enough to land the girl of his dreams? Or will the life he knows come crashing down on him?

I have loved this author for some time now for all the work and beauty they create when they write. I was hooked upon this latest installment in the series. It was great and full of the things I love that this author can do and create in all they write. It was a good read that I surely enjoyed!

I really loved the relationship build between Levi ad Kindle. Their time together was far from easy, and to get to certain points they really had to work hard at it. I mean Levi went through a lot of character changes, and his change in himself was very realistic, and I very much admired that. I loved the side of Kindle that was strong, but could melt at certain things that Levi could be. I loved their moments together, none of it was easy, and they say good things in life you have to work hard for it, and in which they did over and over again but, not right away. I loved how real the characters were and the story was. I had emption all over, and felt so much. All in all, I loved this read and enjoyed every moment of it!

Wonderful read and great addition to the series by a very talented author. The author certainly knows how pull the reader in and hold them there. Highly recommend this book, a definite must read!

Levi is known for being a playboy who no woman has been able to resist. A series of events forces him to have to finally grow up and he ends up working with Kindle. She’s his supervisor and the one woman that seems immune to his charms. Their chemistry is undeniable but he is going to have his work cut out for him if he wants to change her mind about him. This was a great 5 star read. Levi (Squid) is quite the player, after he got his heart broken he has no plans to commit. He picks up women at the bars, has his time with them and leaves. After one encounter he finds that those choices can come back to bite you. He also gets some news from his father, he has been cut off. He is a very smart man and is now being told he has to work, no more playboying around. Levi has had several encounters with a woman he can’t get out of his mind, fate steps in and he sees her again. Kindle has been very adamant about keeping him at arm’s length, will she be able to continue to resist him?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I liked seeing all the characters from the previous books and had some LOL moments. I was pulled in right from the beginning with all that was going on and didn’t want to put it down. I really enjoyed Levi and Kindles story. This can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading the other books in the Moto X series, all of the characters are great. 1-click and get started today.

Levi is just an grown up manchild. His dad calls him out and cuts off his funds. Time to get a job and be a man. After getting an STD, Levi has to depend on his law career, he goes into his dad’s firm. Miss Kindle James is his supervisor. It turns out she’s the hotty out who’s not into him and has no qualms telling him off. I loved this story. The chemistry is there. The sparks are so hot that you could start a fire. Dad is a little overbearing. His friends are awesome. All the hard-time giving and wives teasing him was so entertaining as I watched him grow up. Kindle was just as into him as he was for her. She just wasn’t giving up her career goals. The plot was well-developed. Levi matured as we got to watch him develop into a real man who realized what he wanted and went for it. Now, the crazy roommate, that was insane. I’d have run her over. Stalk much, she was nuts. Plot twist at the end was excellent, didn’t see that. This author writes really great romance. So realistic and feels like they could be twisted right from today’s love lines. The characters felt real. I loved Mom with dropping hints for a shopping buddy. I loved everything about this story. This is the fifth book in the Moto X series. I really enjoyed this romance story. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. The author does an amazing job with the characters really making them coming alive for the reader. This romance is full of angst and drama and will keep the reader guessing whether or not Levi will get the woman he wants.

I love Levi’s character. From the outside he seems like a lovable cheeky chap who likes a good time and can have his choice of women. What we don’t see at first is the pain he has suffered which is why he doesn’t do love.
When he is told he needs to change his partying ways at first he rebels before he realises how right his family is. Now focused on getting his life back on track, however there is one woman he can’t shake from his mind. And he doesn’t know why because she has rejected him several times. When Kindle comes into his life she turns it upside. What is it about her that keeps him hooked? Is it because he can’t have her that he wants her even more? Or could it be that this woman is the one to break the walls around his heart?
