I love fairytales and I love when authors take a classic and put their own spin on it. I loved this take of Cinderella and it being placed in regency England. Nash does a beautiful job being true to the roots of the fairy tale but placing it in a new time with new circumstances. I flew through the pages and will be eagerly reading this classic again. Looking for a clean feel good romance? This is for you!

Dance of Hearts: a Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling (Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings Book 1) by Bryd Nash is a wonderful retelling of a classic fairy tale. Set during the Regency period there are echoes of Jane Austen and other writers of the period. This is a short, quick read and suitable for teens and older. Though everyone is familiar with the story of Cinderella it is always nice to read a new take on a classic. I flew through this book in no time but completely enjoyed my time with it. I have read other books by this author and this did not disappoint. Wonderful characters, setting, and a happily ever after what more can I ask for in a book. I look forward to reading the next in the series and more from this author in the future.

Dance of Hearts: A Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling by Byrd Nash is a wonderful retelling of the Cinderella story. The story takes place in 1816 England. We first meet Melinda Wychwood when her father’s ailing health keeps her at home to spend the precious time left to him and also to manage the estate. After his death, her father’s estate passed to a distant cousin and Melinda basically turns onto a servant in the very home she grew up in. This story is well written and I was hooked right away. The characters are lovely other than the cousin’s family who anyone can tell are not kind to Miss Mychwood. You can’t go wrong with a story like Cinderella – this retelling takes it to the next level. It’s a novella so it doesn’t take long to read it but you will adore it.

Dance of Hearts: a Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling by Byrd Nash is the first book in the Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retelling series. This is a short, sweet story that is highly enjoyable. Although it is a retelling of the classic Cinderella story it has a lovely unique feel to it thanks to the regency setting and the fantasy element the author has added. The book was well written and so easy to connect with. The characters were engaging and it was great to be able to enjoy their story a clean and refreshing fashion. This book really is a fun and interesting book to read and I would certainly recommend it. I enjoyed it from start to finish and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Dance of Hearts: a Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling (Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings Book 1) Byrd Nash 4 out of 5 stars
Like (I think), so many others, I love a good retelling of a classic fairytale. The fact that Byrd Nash used a historical time period to do so, is unique and extremely intriguing. Byrd Nash is an author that is completely new to me and Dance of Hearts is a novella that is completely outside of my go to genres. I thought this novella was extremely well written from start to finish. Admittedly my only set back was the language tied into a period piece and again, this is only because this is not my go to genre. I would definitely recommend this book to those that enjoy a short, clean romance with great imagery. I look forward to reading more from Byrd Nash in the future!

This short Novella is a lovely little read. Byrd takes you right back to the regency period where life is full of proper etiquette and ball rooms and dreams. Melinda Wychwood had successfully managed the Grange, the family estate whilst her father was ill upon his departing from this world it was handed to another male in the family. Kaye and Theo banter was well written. It a lovely retelling of the Cinderella story.

Dance of Hearts: A Cinderella Regency Romance Retellingis the first book in the Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings series by Byrd Nash. I have read a few of Ms. Nash’s other books and enjoyed them, so when I saw this pop up as a recommended read, I grabbed a copy and dove in. As the title would suggest, this is a historical romance set in 1816- taking the beloved fairytale, Cinderella and giving it a bit of a twist. There’s more to Melinda Wychwood than meets the eye, as we soon discover. After the death of her father- Melinda’s cousin takes ownership of the house relegating Melinda to servant, in her own home. Things take an interesting turn when a former childhood friend returns- bringing secrets, hidden agendas, and revelations to the fore- which gave the story added intrigue and definitely pulled me in. This is a short story, with a brisk pace- which made for a quick and easy read. It is a sweet, clean, romantic fantasy- with paranormal elements, magic, history, drama, and the satisfying happily ever after we expect from our fairytales. Intriguing. Entertaining. Original.

In Regency England it is not fashionable to display fairy blood. With her mother’s dubious bloodline, and her father’s death Melinda Wychwood is given the role of her cousin’s unpaid housekeeper and companion.
But when a childhood friend returns, will she be satisfied acting as the dowdy chaperone? Or will her wild fairy heritage and a magical dress finally win her true happiness?
After gaining her B.A. degree in journalism in the year of the oil bust and 21% unemployment, Byrd scraped what some people called a living (she called it working starvation) employed as a reporter for a bunch of newspapers you never heard of in rinky-dink small towns.
Working the cop and school beat, she enjoyed the excitement of being underpaid by the sexist owners of newspapers while having her life threatened by a vagrant.
After her life wandered about, working as a museum director, horseback riding instructor, and kid’s party planner, she decided enough was enough.
Always writing, the many stories in her head are now given permission to fly free.

A Study in Spirits: A College Fae magic series #2 by Byrd Nash. Some times I have a hard time getting into a fantasy type story unless I’m really wanting one but I had absolutely no problem diving right into this one. The author did a wonderful job of writing a story that draws you in. This group of characters really know how to keep you hooked. There’s twist and turns I wasn’t expecting and loved every bit of. While on the shorter side it still packs a punch and had me happily lost in the pages well into the night. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything, with characters you won’t soon forget. I’m so excited to see where this author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

A Study in Spirits is the second book in the College Fae Series by Byrd Nash. Although I didn’t read the first book in this series, I had no problem jumping right into this story. I enjoyed this book so much, I will be going back and reading the first book. This book was filled with magic, mystery and adventure. The world building was great and the characters were well developed. Brigit, Logan and the rest of the gang took me on a wonderful adventure that I couldn’t put down until I read the last page. Byrd Nash has a wonderful imagination and a great ability to put her thoughts into amazing stories. I highly recommend this book, series and author. Review by @sunbarn

A Study in Spirits: A College Fae Magic Series #2 was an interesting read. When Brigit, a fae princess, is accused of stealing the answers to a test and she sets out to clear her name. However, in the process of uncovering who really did it they start to uncover some mysterious goings on within the college library. The group of friends must utilise their special skills to uncover the truth and stop all the knowledge being removed from existence. This book is perfect for those who enjoy a good fantasy novel, the group of characters work well together and have a strong bond, when new girl Emma joins them, she seems to find her place. The supporting characters are also quite interesting, I hope to find out more about them in the next book.

I absolutely loved reading this one and I don’t care that it’s for young adults because at 32, I love a good read and this was definitely that. We follow Brigit in college but she has to do something to prove her innocence and she’s totally bad-ass at doing it as she does things her way. Someone has falsely accused her of doing detest actions that don’t fit her character and she’s out to clear her name to the university. Even worse, as a fairy, she owes a debt to her doppleganger as she has to unravel what’s leering in the library. Whatever it is, it’s haunting the books she loves which is all the ammunition she needs to put an end to this thing’s reign of terror. Since the administration at the university, Brigit and her friends will do what they must to put an end to it. Brigit’s friends have unique gifts of their own to unravel the mysteries before them which makes this book juicier. Logan can recognize the truth within the blink of an eye and gamer girl Emma may know more than she’s letting on. The ghosts of the school are even on the side of the good but the evil force may be way more powerful than they initially thought.

A Study in Spirits by Byrd Nash is the second book in A College Fae Magic series. The author says there will be four books in the series, one for each year of school. This is a fairly short, quick read but the author accomplishes a lot in those pages. In this book Brigit has been accused of stealing answers and vandalism. With her friends she must clear her name or be expelled from school. I enjoyed the characters of Brigit and Logan as well as the secondary characters in the story. This is a nice get away from the day to day isolation from being at home giving out a bit of magic to all of us. I look forward to reading more in this series.

A Study in Spirits (College Fae book #2) by Byrd Nash. This is the second book in this series and I think it’s even better than the first. I’m not a huge fantasy fan but these books are the exception. I loved the first one and I believe I loved this one even more. Its the continuing story of Brigit who is a student at Leopold Otto University and if she wants to continue to be a student there she needs to prove that she is not the person stealing & changing test results. With her friend Logan and his ability to recognize the truth and their new friend Emma who may hold the key to the whole mystery they are determined to find solve this. This monster is destroying Brigit’s much loved books and she is determined to stop it not only to prove herself not guilty but to catch this horrible culprit. We meet some new friends as well in this book and they definitely add to the story. Will these monsters prove to difficult to stop or will Brigit and Logan be able to stop them before its too late? Read A Study in Spirits to find out!

Brigit is accused of hacking into the system to get access to test papers and in the process destroyed some other things off the system.
So with her friends Logan, Celia, Granite and new girl Emma they have to figure out what this magical being is and clear Brigits name and save the books what she so loves from being destroyed.

A Study in Spirits: A College Fae Magic Series #2 by Byrd Nash is the follow on from Never Date a Siren. It is a wonderful Young Adult story full of paranormal beings, college life, humour, drama, debts, bonds, challenges, lessons, magic, danger, adventure, and more. We meet back up with Brigit, Logan, and their friends as this next adventure unfolds. A new school year has started at Leopold Otto University and Brigit finds herself accused of cheating and will need to clear her name or face expulsion. Then there’s the matter of being indebted to the Doppelganger (from book #1 ‘Never Date A Siren’) after his help with the siren problem from the last year. More problems arise when a spate of vandalism in the library sets off a hunt to uncover the ‘monster’ behind the destruction. Never a dull moment for these characters. This is a fantastic second instalment and as I am now completely invested in the characters, I really can’t wait to see what they get up to in the next book! Such a fun read!!!

I give A Study in Spirits: A College Fae magic series #2 by Byrd Nash, 5 stars.
The first book in this series was so much fun and I anxiously awaited the next one. Well, it passed the grade and then some. The book was outstanding! Sticking with the same group of characters from book 1, there is also an addition of another character to their group who is just as interesting and I would love to see more of in the future. The characters are so great because they work together so well and all have kindness to others in their heart. Albeit different and not always on the same page, they work together to help those in need. This time, the focus is something evil in the library. The way they go about solving everything is so interesting and you just can’t put the book down. The story is entertaining and fun, the characters are real but not too pretentious, and there is of course a talking cat, which just pushes it over the edge for me.
If you are a fan of college aged main characters in an urban fantasy setting, this book is for you.

I enjoyed this story. It’s the second in the series. In here we get to delve deeper into each of the characters we have met. While there is a problem on campus they have become involved in because of Celia’s new roomie.
There is much to love about these characters. The whole dryad (tree) Fae thing. How she can step into trees. Then in the library I loved the idea of how the books were crying having their knowledge ripped from them. Then the dryad struggled as well because….well books are paper and paper was trees…genius! Logan with his “seeing the truth” and the Japanese squirrel and the cat (Jib). All great! I don’t even know what to say about the doppelgänger. Just freaky!
I love the world this author has created. Anyone who reads paranormal fantasy should love this. It tickles the funny one and engages the grey matter.

A Study in Spirits by Byrd Nash is the second book in the College Fae magic series. This book is entertaining throughout and has some fantastic characters. Personally I do think this should be read in order as you are introduced to all the characters in the first book. I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed falling back into the lives of the characters I had got to know previously. The story was engaging and really well developed. The author creates a good pace and draws you in. This has so far been a very enjoyable series and I can definitely say I am looking forward to seeing what is next.

A Study In Spirits by Byrd Nash a five-star show stealing read. This is number two in the College Fae Magic series, and flows well from the first novel and just continues with the great story. There is something special about the characters in this story, I like how we have many of the same characters as the first story, but some new to keep it fresh, the characters have such depth to them they will surprise you. The whole premise of this story is one that brings a fresh look at the genre, this really is a great story, there are some great friendships shown despite the differences between characters, its nice to see the difference shown and overcome. I enjoyed the flashbacks in this story, they just added another layer to the story. If you enjoy a good story and a bit of fantasy, then you won’t go wrong reading this series.

I feel like I am standing right next to the characters and having the adventure with them. Brigit is in trouble and she may have to leave the university. She has to look into this mystery and along the way she recruits Logan and a new girl. You will keep flipping the pages to see what is coming around the next corner. I enjoyed this young adult story. This is an author I have enjoyed from the first book I picked up. She writes with creativity and her details make the story feel realistic. This book is no different, page turning fast reading. This story is about mystery, making new friends and magic. Brigit has been accused of stealing and vandalism. In order for her to stay at the University she must find the person who is behind it. Will she find who did it with the help of Logan and the new girl who seems to know the guilty? These are great characters that are supportive of each other. They are connectable and made the story engaging. I highly recommend reading this book to find out who is really behind the crimes.

A Study in Spirits (College Fae book #2) By Byrd Nash 5 out of 5 stars
The story A Study in Spirits A Study in Spirits (College Fae book #2) by Byrd Nash is a coming of age/fantasy book. It is a story that will pull you in from the beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down. It is the second in a series and I loved the magical creatures and other characters that are introduced. The author did an amazing job in building a world where humans, fae, and others all live and in this book work together. I loved reading the characters of Brigit and Logan. Brigit finds that she must defend herself against accusations that could get her thrown out of the university. She now must discover who or what is destroying books in the campus library. Along with Logan, Emma, and others, she sets about finding the guilty party. Will they find out the truth about who is behind the destruction at the library? Read this book to find out. This story flows smoothly and I found myself feeling like I was right there with the characters. I found myself lost in the pages and when I read the last chapter wishing that it was a little longer. I would recommend reading this book.

To pay her Fairy Debt to a Doppleganger, Brigit is told to spy on her fellow college classmates. But no one tells Brigit what to do.
When truth is the only way to win, she and Logan will take on a vain Fae chancellor, a hard-headed librarian, talkative ghosts, and a shape-shifting creature from Outside.
If the administration can’t protect the books, this dryad and her friends will.
Returning with Brigit and Logan, is a new student: a girl nerd and her dwarf flying squirrel, who happens to love revealing secrets.
A YA FANTASY Coming-of-Age series described as: “fast paced and entertaining,” “new and fresh,” with “creative and clever world-building.”
