A fun quick story to read. Frank has always wanted to help burn victims because of his childhood and has begun the start of that journey. When he meets Barbara who needs help with a back issue, he falls quickly. This short story has everything passion, heartache, and love.

King – Review by Tonya Merritt
This is one of my favorite authors and I never hesitate to read any of her books. This is part of the Doctors of Eastport General series by many different author, and I really enjoyed this story of Frank and Barbara.
Frank is a well known cosmetic surgeon who takes an opportunity to be part of the new Burn Unit at Eastport General to make an impact and keep a promise he made many year ago to his mother. At first, Frank is a little distant and keeps to himself as he fights to move on with his past. When a chance encounter on an evening out and he meets Barbara, they did not see eye to eye at first.
Barbara is trying to make money while working at a bar/pub. Meeting Frank and finding out what his job specialty was, all she wanted to do is talk to him about issues she has medically. At first, Frank blows her off but as he has more of an opportunity to talk to her, his feeling change Not only does he want to help Barbara, but would like to get to know her more personally.
Will Frank help Barbara when she needs it the most? Will sparks fly between them?
This story is not very long, totally enjoyable and Frank and his past tug my heartstrings hard and love that Barbara gave Frank a second chance :).

I enjoyed this fantasy story. This is a great mix of a paranormal and mythological adventure. Everything was brought to life and the story and world was beautifully written. I do think this story ended quite quickly but I hope to see more of these characters and of this world.

This one started out good and held my interest. Sadly it really went downhill after that. The relationship seemed rushed. Maybe more time spent on character building would have taken care of a few of these issues. She did not seem interested in him romantically but all of a sudden she loves him. Also there is a grand gesture at the end and I am just thinking..nothing was mentioned in reference to her liking baking.
I was very interested with this story due to the storyline. The author did an good job with Frank’s story. I did speed through this as it does have a nice flow.

I’ve read quite a few book from this author and I am really enjoying this new Doctors of Eastport series. The stories might be on the shorter side but they certainly are full to the brim of great characters, dreamy doctors and definitely some steamy moments along the way! I loved the characters Frank and Barbara, they might not have had the best first meeting but they had a good connection and definitely some humours moments between them. I would definitely recommend this book, series and author! I can’t wait for more to come!

I’m a sucker for a good cover, I love it when the book is as good as the cover. When a portal in space opens, a black mist comes out. But, it wasn’t just mist, there were monsters as well. After generations of war and battle, the human race were raised to fight monsters.

This was a fantastic read and I felt like it really had something for everyone. From romance to paranormal, to mythology, warriors, and lots of danger, you really embark on a journey throughout this read.
This author built an incredible fantasy world one that can really immerse you into the story and keep you flipping pages wanting to know more. More about the world, the characters, and what will happen. Her writing style really brought the world to life and made it believable; I think that was my favorite part.
Absolutely beautifully written and will definitely reread it in the future! Can’t wait to see what else she has in store.

Creatures of the Night was a great read. I don’t find many fantasy books that I can really get into, but this one I really liked. Creatures of the Night was a mix of paranormal and mythology. You could really see that the author worked hard on writing this. This book was a page turner for me and I couldn’t put it down.

This was such a quick fun read. These doctors of Eastport General are quite something. This book though had my heart! As one well blessed in the chest, I felt the pain of Barbara. I loved seeing her story and Frank’s. Seeing how they can see past their own stuff and feel the pain of another.

A hot and heavy rollercoaster with a bad first impression, a doctor dealing with some skeletons in his proverbial closet and a woman who makes him face it all. A great addition to C.A’s series. Works as a standalone and is well written with a great build up. The character progression was excellent and I had a heck of a time putting it down! Really enjoyable read!

I am definitely a fan of this wonderful author and this book did not disappoint in any way. Dr Frank and Barbara are wonderful characters and the author created a fantastic storyline for them. Both dealing with very real life issues which I believe make them even more relatable to the reader. If reading a wonderful book with “real” characters and a HEA is what you’re after then this is the book for you!

As a Grey’s Anatomy Fan, I truly had high expectations for this novella. As I do with just about every contemporary romance I read that takes place in the medical field. This one definitely rose to that expectation. In this book we meet Dr. Enstein who wants to use his abilities in plastic surgery to help the world. He wants to help those who are disfigured build their confidence. When Dr. Enstein meets Barbara he gets way more than he was expecting. Their chemistry sizzles for sure and they have a banter between them that is definitely unmatched. I definitely recommend this!

Doctor Frank Enstein by CA King is one of 13 new contemporary romance books in the second season of Doctors of Eastport General Series where each book is written by different authors. They are all standalones books but you may see some characters from some of your old favourites from the first season. Dip your toes into the happenings of the Eastport General Rhode Island where a veritable smorgasbord of HOT new naughty ER Physicians, Surgeons, Specialists, Residents, and patients shenanigans. The characters are passionate about their jobs and fun loving and full of charm. Doctor Frank Enstein got into his job to make a difference but will he be derailed by one busty woman? Want a story that is sexy and full of desire? A story that is entertaining, flirty, and where sparks fly? Let’s not forget it also comes with a little drama, some steam and fun. I recommend you settle in for some me time and read this short story to find out what happens. As I said before think McDreamy and McSteamy from Grey’s Anatomy…… This is one series I intend to devour. I am off to see what the other books have to offer.

It seems not matter what this author turns her hand to it is a complete success. This book is the second one she has written as part of these collaborations and it is just as good as her other one. Part of what I like about this book so much is that it is so different from other books that this author has written. I connected with the story so easily and, as usual, I couldn’t stop reading until I had finished the book. The story was well thought out with some brilliant characters. There was so much more to this story than you would think initially and it was created with such ease from the author. This is a fantastic book that I would highly recommend to anyone.

This is one of my favourite genres, so I went in already expecting to enjoy it, but I didn’t realise how much I’d love it! It has everything I love – romance, magic, supernatural creatures, danger and mystery. There were many unique elements to the story and the author was able to create a vivid world with characters that felt real. When reading numerous scenes, I almost felt like I had stepped into the book to journey alongside the main character Zoe. In addition to the great world building, the writing flowed well which made reading this even more enjoyable. Zoe is an intelligent and strong woman who has great character progression as she begins to question what she was taught to believe. She grows into her own person, and I was emotionally investing in her journey and how the relationships with her family and newer connections she made evolve over time. If dark paranormal stories are your thing, I would certainly recommend this book.

This is an author that I really enjoy reading and this book is one of my favorites yet. Her books are creative and engaging. This book is no different. This is a well written, fast paced story that is hard to put down. The characters are steamy and made the story easy to read. They are connectable and pull you into their world. They have great growth and chemistry as well. A story where going backwards is not always a bad thing. What happens with Doctor Frank you don’t want to miss for sure. What will he do when he is faced with a choice of going back to something he said he never would? This is a romance story you don’t want to miss for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Doctor Frank Enstein (Doctors of Eastport General) by C.A. King is Ms. King’s second contribution to this medical romance series: the Doctors of Eastport General collection is a collaboration by several different authors, each releasing their own story set in Eastport General Hospital. This is another by Ms. King, a spicy, short, and sexy read that will keep you in its grasp right through to the end. Let’s face it, I already love Ms. King’s stories, so it was a given that I would be reading this book as soon as it hit my Kindle. And who doesn’t love a sexy Doctor? I know I sure do… This novella is a contemporary romance- and although it might be smaller in page numbers, it has the feel and delivery of a much larger novel. We meet plastic surgeon, Doctor Frank Enstein, who has a passion to help disfigured patients by repairing their damaged flesh and helping them regain some of their lost confidence. He wants to use his position to truly make a difference in the world. When he meets Barbara, their chemistry certainly sizzles, but he might get the wrong impression at first…Barbara, on the other hand, just wants to be feel ‘normal’ and pain free and is desperate for help- she meets Doctor Frank and finally has hope. But has she placed her hope in the wrong hands? Can and will he help her? What starts off as pretty casual, turns out to be so much more than either of them ever expected. What happens makes for a sweet and engaging read. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. King has in store for us next. Happy Reading…

This is a cute romance for those that thought it couldn’t happen. Barbara has been dealing with a health issue that has left her feeling less confident and in pain. Along comes Dr. Frank. He has never felt this way about any woman. They have a lovely chemistry. A wonderfully quick read that I wish had just a bit more story to it. I loved it anyway and found it quite romantic.

This book is a super cute quick read. It has everything that you are looking for in a romance book. It has the misjudgments at the first meeting to the growing of feelings throughout the book. Barbara went to Frank to help her with something that has Frank, who is dealing with some of his own issues, look at things a little differently. This leads to them having a horrible first meeting and yet something blossoms out of that meeting and they can’t seem to stay away from each other. Reading this book you will get caught up in the building of he characters and their backstories. You will figure out what is bothering Frank and why Barbara needs a plastic surgeon. These two things are key to how they develop their love story. If you have a couple hours that you can sit down and get lost in the small town feel of this book, you wont be disappointed. Also, it never hurts to read about a hot doctor.

King – Review by Barbara Bohls
Doctor Frank Enstein spent years becoming a sought-after cosmetic surgeon and not for the same reason as others in his field. For him, it wasn’t about tits and it certainly had nothing to do with ass. His motives were deeper, purer; something only someone with a similar tragic past would understand.
He merely put up with long lines of superficial women demanding exuberant changes to perfectly fine bodies. It was a means to an end, and finally it was all paying off.
His assignment with a new burn unit at Eastport General Hospital was the job he wanted—a place where he could really make a difference.
When a busty barmaid tries to start up a conversation, she threatens to drag him back into the practice he left behind. No matter how attractive she is, that couldn’t happen.
Taking a step backward isn’t part of the plan, but maybe it should be.
About C.A. King, USA Today Bestselling Author I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche. Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time. To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger. People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years. I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different. I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes – I want them to know they are making a difference. When an unusual anomaly in outer space opened up portals it brought with it a black mist that covered the earth. It also brought something far more sinister and deadly when it brought monsters and war started across the human race. The war raged on for generations and the remaining humans grew up training to fight and kill demons and monsters. In this new world they survived by forming clans where they could better protect themselves.
Zoe always knew that she was different and did not see things like others. In this new world she was expected to possess magic and men were expected to be warriors. Zoe knew that magic was no good if you were unable to protect yourself, so she also wanted to be a warrior. Instead, she must obey society’s rules and is sent off to the academy to hone her magic.
When Zoe meets a demon, it changes her outlook on everything. She has always fought alongside her family battling the black mist, demons, and monsters and never questioned why they do so. When she falls in love with a demon she starts to questions the rules and all that she has been taught throughout her life. Zoe begins to realize that maybe all demons are not the same after all. She is faced with the difficult decision of choosing between love and her family and friends. No matter which choice she makes she will lose something or someone that she loves. What will Zoe’s heart decide is best for her?
This book was well written and the scenes were described so vividly that you feel like you are part of Zoe’s journey. The character of Zoe really grows and develops as the story unfolds. She is smart, strong, feisty, and a force to be reckoned with. When Zoe meets a demon she becomes conflicted about what she has been taught and must make a difficult decision. She craves love but will she choose it over her own family. What a gut-wrenching decision to have to make. A great Dystopian Fantasy read with love, romance, adventure, supernatural, magic, demons, and monsters.

Creatures of the Night has such a strong opening that I wanted to love the book. It starts with portals opening all around the world and creatures coming out and killing the majority of the human population. Due to this females became mages and males became knights. I wished that C.A. King would have fully fleshed out this new world. Unfortunately, for me, it felt like it was watered down and not enough detail was given. The ending feels rushed and very confusing with unfinished loose ends.

This was a really enjoyable read. It has something for everyone. There is danger, Romance and witches and warriors, creatures that go bump in the night and a mysterious black mist causing all the trouble. This author does an incredible job of taking a fantasy world and making it believable. The characters are well written and their story is definately a gripping read.
Zoe has been training her whole life to become a warrior. To protect the human race from strange creatures that are set out to destroy them. Given the gift of magic she enters the academy to train to the best. However, Zoe doesn’t want to stand on the sidelines and use magic she wants to fight like all the other brave warriors. This is her path in life to rid the world of the horrible scary creatures that arrived by a strange mist and are slowly destroying the human race. Her family’s life is dedicated to protecting the people from these evil monsters. But what happens when Zoe finds love? And how will she react when she find out the person she’s falling for is part of the same dark monsters that she is set out to rid the world of?
This is a great story and I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read more.

Creatures Of The Night By: C.A. King Review by: Susan Ratchford 5 Stars
I absolutely love books that mix paranormal and mythology so Creatures Of The Night by C. A. King really caught my eye. I was very intrigued to see it had vampires, werewolves, and ghosts as well as demons, gorgons, centaurs, and gods. What else could anyone want in a book! King also has a way of writing that is so beautiful and gripping, for example “ The sun had finished its shift for the day, leaving keys in the moon’s hand until it returned once more.” Her writing made this story have its own heartbeat. This isn’t the first book I’ve read by her and she never disappoints! Zoe is also a real easy character to feel for, having the abilities she does but being stuck on the sidelines. Creatures Of The Night was also so unpredictable as soon as I thought I knew what was going to happen the whole thing did a 180 degree turn and I was taken aback. A book hasn’t surprised me like that in a while. I recommend this book to any paranormal fantasy lover! You will be in for a real treat!

I truly enjoyed Zoe’s story. She knows what she has to do with her life but she is now in a journey to combine what she is with whom she wants to be. This is a paranormal fantasy story told in a very movie like fashion with all the details you need to fall deeper in. The characters have amazing backgrounds and the storyline is very strong. You won’t regret picking up this novel.

Creatures of the Night is a new book by author CA King. I was excited to pick up a new book by this author because I always enjoy her storytelling. This book is set in a dystopian, science-fiction world. Zoe lives in a world that has been at war for generations fighting monsters and demons. She has been always been a fighter, but what does she do if falls for the enemy? Whom will she choose, the family she loves or for romance? I always enjoy books by this author. I tend to read straight through to the end and this was no exception. Zoe is a strong female questioning everything she has learned about herself and those they have been battling. I like that she has to face some internal issues and not just physical tests. I would like to know if we will get more from this world or if this will be a standalone book. There is a lot more that can be explored. I look forward to picking up more books from this author soon.

I am always so excited to get my hands on a book by this author and this one is definitely no exception. I loved this story. It is different from anything the author has done before and it is a unique paranormal story. I was pulled into this book from the start and read it all in one sitting. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. I enjoyed the character in this book too. I thought the author got the combination of them and the storyline perfect, each complimenting the other. This author is easily one of my favourites and I would urge everyone to read her books.

C.A. King is just great in my opinion! I enjoy her books so much and this one was no different. Difficult choices, a possible romance of the ages and all the pressure on her shoulders. I enjoyed this book. It was easy to read, kept me entertained and i enjoyed it start to end. I enjoy the authors style and how she brings it to life! Can’t wait to see what I stumble across next of hers!
