Cam Creates a Hero (Courage Tales Series) by Dagmara Sitek. This book is a little heavier than most for kids but its about a very real subject. Its about Cam who after hearing a news story about a 8 year old girl getting hurt by her step mom and ending up in the hospital, Cam wants to try to help her and others like her. He decides he’s going to build a robot to help protect kids but the outcome is not what he imagined. He goes to sleep defeated but has a dream the robot is real and is very helpful. The robot tells Cam to keep drawing and those drawings will help. So he does and he comes up with a book about helping kids! This is a very neat book that is unfortunately needed in this day and age. This is a wonderful book for kids that are a bit older than can understand more and it teaches believing in yourself and never giving up on your dreams. It also teaches children to be thankful to live in a safe, healthy environment.

Amazing book ! Loved the story from this author. The lessons learned from this book, dream big, perseverance and creativity, just to name a few. I read this book to the grands and they can not wait for me to get more from this author. The illustrations we absolutely perfect, the characters were well developed and the theme was spot on. Will be recommending to others with Littles.

This book was fantastic! The kids loved it! This story is about a boy Cam, he lives with his foster mom and siblings. He has a heart that loves to help people. He saw a little girl on tv that was hurt, he had to do something to help. So he got his sibling to help him make a robot, that didn’t pan out. He decided to write a book that would help protect kids. He took it the hospital and all the kids loved it.

This is a cute story. It’s about a foster kid who dreams of building a robot hero to save kids for bad parents. It shows how to follow your dreams and not give up when things don’t go your way. I read this story with my daughter who really enjoyed reading it. This is the second book of Dagmara Sitek I have read and we really like the series

Cam Creates a Hero is such a heartwarming book! The story follows Cam, a foster kid, who builds a robot to protect children in need after seeing a sad news story. The illustrations are bright and colorful, bringing the story to life. It’s a perfect read for kids who need a little resilience boost and hope. I definitely recommend this one, it has a great message!

Cam has a big heart and a big imagination and lives with his Foster family. While listening to the news one day he hears about another girl in Foster care who’s mother hurt her bad enough that the girl needed to be in the hospital and he wanted to help, but how?
Cam had a school project coming up due,and he decided he was going to build a robot to protect other children for his assignment. He worked hard on his robot but wasn’t happy with its outcome, especially when it hit him in the head hard! He had to go to the hospital to be examined and while he was there he met the little girl from the news.
In his dreams that night his robot who he named Giorgio and the robot told him he had to believe in his ability to make him come alive.
After that dream he starts drawing the robot and makes a book all about the robot adventures. He brings this book to the kids in the hospital and there Giorgio comes alive!
Such a cute story about perseverance, compassion, believing in yourself. Imagination and so much more. My daughter who is 6 loved it

Cam Creates a Hero (Courage Tales Series) by Dagmara Sitek

What a wonderfully written children’s book that children of any age can enjoy. My heart is so full of love and happiness for Cam and his friends. Cam is a foster kid who gets very upset watching the news about a little girl who was being treated right. Cam drew a Picture of a robot and they decided to build it to try and help save the girl. It didn’t work but that doesn’t stop Cam from believing in the robot and himself enough to write a little book. This book teaches to show courage be brave and never give up among so many other life lessons. My son is six and he took in every single word. We loved this book and the lessons we learned. We highly recommend reading this cute little book. We look forward to reading more from this Author.

Cam sees a girl in the hospital on TV and immediately feels guilt. He wants to do something to help her but is feeling helpless. His dream is to create a robot that would help kids in need all over. All of the books by this author include foster children and the things they can achieve if only given a chance. In Cam Creates a Hero he sees that not everyone is as fortunate as he is in finding his family, even going so far as to have been abused by their family. Cam wants to come up with a hero that can help anyone in need. After staying up all night Cam is disappointed in his and his siblings attempt to do this, so back to the drawing board he goes, and his perseverance pays off. It’s such a cute and inspiring story that will remind kids that compassion, courage, and perseverance really makes a difference. Having a hero will really help children navigate through the rough patches in their lives. The illustrations were well done and depicted the scenes beautifully. I appreciated the thought put into this book and the lessons it will teach.

In this cute book, we meet Cam and his foster siblings. Cam is upset by a newscast about a little girl getting hurt. So he draws a hero bot to protect others. Such a great story showing determination and courage to make a difference for others. Quick read for little ones. Exceptional illustrations. Overall a great book.

Beautiful message in this one. While I found a few of the pages confusing on the order to read the talk bubbles the story was amazing. Dagmara Sitek shows an easy to understand for young readers what empathy is. How your imagination is only the first step in the creation of amazing things. Cam and his siblings might not be engineers, but his imagination and creativity created a hero that all of them could believe in and helped so many that needed to believe in good.

This book is part of the Courage Tales series, but you can definitely read them as standalones without a problem. My kiddos and I fell in love with this book immediately as we learned about Cam and his foster family. The illustrations are impeccable and really added another layer to the story. We all thoroughly enjoyed the way the conversation bubbles were created. It made us feel more like we were part of the story instead of just reading paragraphs of ‘he said, she said’ kind of narrative. The story flows wonderfully and has some truly great life lessons around being compassionate and not giving up just because you have failed. The foster family inclusion sparked great conversations in our household which made me realize just how important it is to cover in children’s books. I think this would make a marvelous addition to a library, a daycare, and even your home. I highly recommend picking it up and sharing it with the younger ones in your life.

Cam Creates a Hero is such a cute and inspiring book. Cam wants to make the world a better place. After hearing on the news about a young girl who is hurt, he wants to create a hero that will save kids who are in trouble. He and his foster siblings use cardboard and other materials to make a robot. In the light of day he looks a bit different and he doesn’t work. Cam is upset and loses faith in himself. He struggles to know how to help. While dreaming he meets his robot and he encourages him to keep drawing. Cam sets him mind to making a book that can help other kids. In his book his hero robot goes on adventures and helps others. Learning about compassion, courage, anger, and inner strength are all important life lessons and Cam must face these throughout the book. Once his book is finished he watches as the magic of his words help other children at the hospital. His robot dream comes true in a way. Such a wonderful book and the illustrations are so good! I love the look of the robot in different stages. I think that this book is great for younger readers. Kids have to navigate through so many emotions and books like this can help them grow through them, build confidence, have courage, be caring, and appreciate things in their lives. Wonderful for first libraries and bedtime stories too!

The world needs more kids like Cam!! While this is a kids book and a work of fiction, I wish this was a true story! Cam sees a need in his community for a hero and he designs a robot to help others. When his original design fails, Cam becomes upset until he’s inspired to revive his robot in a different way. This is such a touching story and I found myself tearing up as I read it. This book has wonderful illustrations but the story is one that impact many people of all ages. Please read this book and share it with others!

I read this book with my two sons – D (age 6) and S (age 3). If you’re looking for a book to help teach kids about resilience, perseverance, and compassion, look no further!

Loved this read. First off, I enjoyed reading about Loris in the first book, now we have Cam, I hope there is a book for Inaya as well. Cam draws a bot, Giorgio and now wants to make him really and tangible. The siblings have their struggles and it does not work out the way they expect. When Cam gets hurt, while getting upset, Giorgio comes to him in his dreams and shows him that he can help the kids by creating a story, or drawing him, that will make him real, it is the magic of art. It really breaks my heart that Cam, being so young, is so worried about other children getting abused by other families or ill in the hospital, and his sweet heart wants to make things better for them.

An absolutely sweet tale about a foster kid with a dream and a caring heart. Cam learns about children being hurt by adults from a new program. This makes him sad and determined to create a hero robot to protect those in need. It does not go his way when he tries to build his hero bot, but with a dream and determination he writes a book about his hero bot that he brings to the hospital to share with the children there. This story shares what empathy a person can feel for others and how this turns into a drive to help. It shares that when putting your mind to it that you can do great things.

Cam Creates a Hero is the second book in the Courage Tales series by Dagmara Sitek, who has lovingly crafted another wonderfully meaningful children’s story – with lovely, colourful illustrations that help to bring the story to life.

When Cam hears about a little girl who was hurt by her stepmother, he can’t stop thinking about her and how he can help, so using his creativity he sets out to do something about it- building a hero-bot to help protect kids in trouble. With a whole lot of determination, planning, persistence, trial + error, and a touch of magic – Hero Bot Georgio comes to life.
This little adventure is aimed at children aged 6 to 12 years-old — but I feel there is value to the story that will ensure that the book can be enjoyed and appreciated by all ages.
This is not only a cute tale but teaches valuable life lessons along the way. Inspiring emotional empathy/compassion, creativity, persistence, strength of character, kindness, resilience, following your dreams, problem solving, and more.
This was such a lovely, heartwarming story that left me with all the ‘feel-good’ vibes of a meaningful story.
Looking forward to reading the rest of the series…

Cam Creates a Hero by Dagmara Sitek – 4 Stars

Artistic Cam is doing a school project when he sees the news of a little girl in the hospital because her step mom hurt her. Cam feeling so sad and upset decides to make a hero robot that will help protect little kids.
After seeing the robot is not working; Cam has a dream about Giorgio and writes a book that he can share with his foster family and the sick kids in the hospital. The kids loved it so much it brought Giorgio to life.

To think the magic that was found all started with a simple drawing and a dream.

I think it’s an adorable book about determination, dreams and empathy for those around us; how we can bring light and magic to others. We can achieve our goals with a little determination, dreams and a little bit of magic inside us.

I love the story behind the book. Well written and very inspiring. I would give it 5 stars if the chat boxes were easier to follow in order of conversation (thinking from a child’s perspective).
Overall the message it sends is hope, love for others and we all have a little bit of magic in ourselves.

Cam Creates A Hero is an engaging and captivating read for the curious and kind at heart. Imagine wanting something and it comes to life right out of your drawing. I imagined the Transformers sounds when he came to life. Your very own hero bot. It is thanks to Lau Franks wonderful colourful illustrations that this story comes to life.
This is the second engaging educational tale in the Courage Tales series where fostering children’s self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and feeling safe for those in foster care is the name of the game. As with Loris Opens Up His Heart this one will hit you in all the feels as well. It teaches valuable and important life lessons all rolled up in a great tale.
Cam has a big heart and doesn’t want anyone being hurt if he can help it. What would be more help than a robot that could defend those who are in need of defending.
Its not just a story there are added goodies to be found as well. Happy Reading.

This was a really sweet book. Cam is a foster kid with a mission. There are a few darker mentions in this story, so be prepared. It is handled very well though. I believe in kids knowing these types of things happen in life. This author touches on them gently and beautifully. This story mentions real life things, including heavy emotions, but also includes a little imagination for the young reader. Cam feels a lot of sadness and tries to build a robot. Can he succeed? Is there hope out there when so many bad things happen? This is the perfect book to answer that question.

I picked up this book expecting quite a fun and lighthearted kids story. But what we got felt like it was so much more than that. I loved the fact that Cam is a foster kid. This is something we have talked about as a family quite a lot recently as one of our close friends has an adopted little girl. And although there is a difference, this really helped to reinforce the message of being able to choose your family and who you want to love!
The book itself was really well written and genuinely a joy to read. We all seemed to get so much from this book and both my kids and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is one of those books that seems to stay with you long after reading it and I personally already cannot wait to read it again! I would highly recommend this book.

Cam creates a hero by Dagmara Sitek and illustrated by Lau Frank. This is a childrens book about kids in a foster home who hear about a kid being hurt by her step mom. Cam wants to do something about it so he creates a robot that is meant to help protect. Upon it not working he gets upset. This book will show you the art of story telling and how the power it can have in healing. With beautiful illustrations we get to see all the children and have a very beautiful visualization through the art work. This is a great story to tell your children and grandchildren along with generations yet to come. it shows them the importance of story telling and its healing power through words and art.

This book really tugs at the heartstrings. Cam wans to create something to help other children that have been hurt or traumatized by adults. My eyes tended to leak as I read this story because as one of those kids growing up, I wish someone had been there. Cam wanted to make a robot protector but it didn’t go very well. As a bookworm, I loved his idea of turning his robot into a book that could be shared with the children in the hospital. This was such a wonderful idea. Cam is one of my favorite series because it brings such hopeful messages. This story brings up so many emotions. As a nubie author, I would love to create a superhero story like Cam for all the hurt kids. This story gives hope and love. I shared it and hugs with my grandchildren. It’s been requested a couple times already. I’m going to buy some extra copies for our Kinship agency to give out. It’s a wonderfully illustrated story that should be shared with everyone. The message it delivers is worth sharing everywhere.
