Flipping The Bird: A Paranormal Chick Lit Novel by Carrie Pulkinen is the first book in the Shift Creek series. This is another fantastically written book by an author who has firmly established herself as one of my favourites. As I have come to expect from her books I found this book highly entertaining, well written and with amazing characters that I instantly liked! I was utterly hooked the moment I started reading and flew through the book much quicker than I wanted as I wanted to keep reading this for as long as possible. I loved the connection between the two main characters. I found myself smiling at them on more than one occasion as they tried to solve the problems developing around them. This is a brilliant book and such a good start to a new series. I would highly recommend this book and also this author!

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, lighthearted paranormal romantic comedy novel. The authors descriptive narrative really bought these quirky, likeable and relatable characters to life and I could not help but feel invested in their story. Alice Crawford is a salvage artist in Texas, who is also a crow shifter, whilst Donovan Drake is a Warlock and they both find themselves in Shift Creek. Alice believes the sexy Warlock can solve all her problems but Donovan has many secrets including the fact that his connection to Shift Creek runs deeper than anyone knows. When he feels himself falling for the feisty bird shifter he knows he needs to be careful. This fairly short story was definitely action packed, full of romance, comedy and mystery, all of which had me hooked from start to finish. I loved the developing relationship between the main characters and the story was heartwarming with some real laugh out loud moments. An enjoyable and engaging read and a great start to a new series.

This is a fun paranormal story! It really took me on an adventure and I couldn’t be happier. I really couldn’t figure out an answer to their problem until near the end. I loved that little mystery aspect. The characters are wonderful. Watching Alice and Megan goof around it’s easy to see why they are besties. Then there is Donovan Drake…that name alone just inspires me. He is an interesting character and I loved his story. His little sidekick is annoying, helpful and a perfect fit for the story.
For a good time while reading enjoy this little beauty! I look forward to more!

Flipping the Bird is the captivating first instalment in the new Shift Creek series by Carrie Pulkinen. From the moment I read my first book by her, Ms. Pulkinen quickly become one of my favourite authors- her books never failing to deliver a completely engrossing and addictive read. But I have to be honest here, I reallly wasn’t sure that this book would have the same impact, as this is the first shifter book that I have read where one of the main characters ‘shifter animal’ was non-predatory. I really wasn’t sure that a crow shifter held the same appeal as a wolf, big cat, bear, or dragon. But colour me WRONG!!!! This story was superb, and Alice’s crow really added mischief, humour, and plenty of enthralling entertainment- so I really should never have doubted Ms. Pulkinen, and I definitely won’t make that mistake again. This is a brilliant paranormal romance, with shifters, warlocks, magic, mystery, secrets, tension, lies, discovery, small town spirit, chemistry sizzle, fate, prophecy, drama, humour, a little mayhem, funny banter/ quips/ antics, wonderful characters, and a fun and intriguing storyline- not to mention a flatulating familiar that added an extra element of humour and interest to the storyline. Shift Creek may seem like your quintessential small town- but there is so much more to the picturesque town than meets the eye. Especially when a large part of the population is made up of shifters. Then add in a magical creek and things are anything but ‘normal’. But, there is a problem that is threatening the survival of the town- the magical creek is drying up and if something isn’t done very soon to fix it- the repercussions could spell disaster. Alice Crawford loves her town and is willing to do whatever it takes to ‘fix’ the creek. So there is a lot riding on her finding a solution to their problems. Her hopes are lifted when a hot new wizard arrives in town- who might be the key to restoring the creek to its former glory. Donovan Drake has come to town with an agenda of his own. His secrets weighing heavily on his mind. Meeting Alice is an unexpected bonus to his trip. But, what happens when secrets are exposed? With time running out, things look quite dire for the creek, Donovan, Alice, and the town. How does everything work out in the end? This book is so worth the read to find out!!! I can’t wait to see what happens in Book #2. It looks set to be fantastic!

Finders Reapers is book 5 in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. I love all these books, they are hilarious! This book can be read independently of the series, but the characters do cross over. Each book focuses on its own couple, this book being a Grim Reaper and a necromancer. Asher and Jasmine are the perfect couple, one can raise the dead, and the other escorts the dead to hell. They had a thing for a hot minute in the past, but it ended badly. Now they avoid each other at all costs, but are thrown together when the stuff hits the fan. Asher tries to take a vacation and it all breaks loose, leaving a mess in his return. They must team up to fix the problem and escort thousands to the devil. Highly recommend this book and all in the series. They are quick reads and are super funny.

Four Stars
I just can’t take these stories serious. This one had me cracking up. The puns were intended lol. I really like this series. The author definitely has a gem with this series. So many different directions. I really like Jasmine in this story. She knows who she is and what she can do. The fact that the reaper needed a break had me laughing cause he’s death. The pun it would be the death of him had me hollering. I found this story interesting and engaging. There was a nice break from the same old romance and HAE. I have found a series that just makes me giggle. The author has a great sense of humor and I am here for the ride.

I really enjoyed this paranormal love story. It was gripping and easy to read. The author does such a good job with the characters you can’t help but fall in love with them.
Alice is a crow shifter. She has spent all her life in Shift Creek where the river in the town has healing powers for shifters. However all that changes and the river starts to lose its power. Alice is in a race against time to find a solution.
What she doesn’t expect is to find a solution and also the love of her life.
Donovan’s ancestors are the ones who put the blessing on the river. So when he arrives and Alice finds out who he is she thinks all her problems are solved. What she doesn’t realise is that Donovan has no warlock powers so can’t do the spell.
Will they figure out a way to save the town and river? Can their love be strong enough to save the day? What sacrifices will they need to make to do it?

Jasmine and Asher have an interesting relationship. First it was friendship, then it almost turned into romantic relationship. Then it was a love-hate type of relationship. Then everything goes wrong when the door to hell is locked. All of a sudden Asher need Jasmines help to get all the ghosts to the doorway of hell. What will happen to Asher and Jasmine? What will happen to all of the ghosts?

All good things must come to an end. Sad but true. And we have reached the final book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. At least the final book SO FAR…
I cannot say how much I have enjoyed this series. Ms. Pulkinen has an incredible ability to spin a funny, engaging tale and I have never laughed so hard reading a series as I did with this one. Ms. Pulkinen did not disappoint with this final book. If anything, she finished the series with the BEST. BOOK. YET.
Death takes a holiday…
No, really it does…well the Grim Reaper does and this causes major problems. Enlisting the help of Necromancer Jasmine Lee, he must wrangle some unruly ghosts and get them back to the underworld before the world goes to well…that place. With chemistry, that’s hot, hot, hot, and some unholy bad luck, these two have the work cut out for them!
Ms. Pulkinen again brings witty humor, twists and turns, and fantastic chemistry to the reader with Asher and Jasmine’s story. Catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, the steamy backdrop of the French Quarter all combine to finish out a wonderful series. Ms. Pulkinen is a wonderful storyteller and I hope upon hope that she will continue this series!

This book started off on a pretty somber note considering how April’s life is pretty mundane to say the least. I found comedic relief for me in this book was more like a movie since I listened to it as opposed to reading it through audiobook. The narrator not only bought the story to life in my imagination but so did the author for me. This story is unique. It’s funny. It’s true to life (or death) depending on how you see it. I think it bought on more than a romance element but the innocence that love is especially for characters like the ones we’ve been introduced to here. WAIT, that’s not the only appealing factor in this story. What reared this story in for me was that she’s an angel in training under Damian. The fun part was the fantasy, mythical and love story all over the book. EVERYthing about this was loving, sweet, intriguing and exciting to follow.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. This is a paranormal romance story that is full of fun characters and plenty of shifters. This is a well developed story that pulled me in right from the beginning. The characters brought the story to life and made it feel realistic. They even made me giggle once or twice. This is a story about Alice who is a crow shifter. The magical stream in the town she lives in is drying up. But when a hot warlock comes to town, he just may be their saving. His connection with the town is a little more than any one expects. As he finds himself falling for Alice, he could risk everything if he is exposed. I really enjoyed these characters. They brought the story to a new level and so entertaining. They made the story for me. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is my first book by Carrie Pulkinen. It was a great story idea with humans and angels. I loved this story. It is a love story between two guardians – as in guardian angels. It gives the idea of how the angels become guardians and extremely detailed. These two characters have some baggage to work through, but it is a great read. The narrators were fantastic. They helped get me into this story easily. I recommend it! Can’t wait to see what this author has coming up next.

The Rest of Forever is a paranormal story by Carrie Pulkinen. She is a new to me author, but I enjoyed this story so much I’m looking forward to reading to more books by Carrie. April and Damian are great characters. The book had me laughing out loud, and that to me makes a book GREAT. This is a special take on guardian angels. I couldn’t put his book down, and read it in one sitting.
Curt Bonnem is the narrator ’of this book. He really brought the characters to life. This is the first book by curt that I listened to by Curt. He is going on my favorite narrator list. This is definitely a five star listen!
The Rest of Forever Reigning Hearts Book 2 By Carrie Pulkinen ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a full length Paranormal Romance. This is an enemies to lovers story.
April Carter is a high school history teacher. She sometimes wishes for more. But when she dies at the young age of thirty. She wants to know more. Waking up in the afterlife, not in Heaven? She wants to know even more. Then there is Damian, someone she does not care for. But wait he is her trainer. His job was to make her become a guardian. Will April learn or fight her enemy, Damian? What about the life she left behind, her friends, her boyfriend, and her kids? OK get you reading started.
Carrie Pulkinen wrote this paranormal romance. Her book is a real page turner, and your emotions will be toyed with as you read. I love the characters, April and Damian both have inner struggles, both fighting the need to be together. I am sure you too will enjoy this story as much as I did. Well Done Carrie Pulkinen! Well Done!
With an existential crisis looming over his head, Asher needs a break from reaping souls. But when he leaves his door to the underworld unattended, one escaped ghost threatens to turn the French Quarter into a haven for the hell-bound.
Oh, and that crisis he was trying to escape? Her name is Jasmine Lee, and she could be the death of him.
The literal death of Death. Yep. You heard that right.
There’s no such thing as too dead when it comes to necromancer Jasmine Lee. She’s never met a ghost she can’t tame, but when a thousand ornery spirits descend upon New Orleans, her secret weakness is a recipe for phantasmal disaster.
Holy ghost guts. She’s in trouble.
The unfairly hot reaper is the last person Jasmine wants to work with. But if she doesn’t help Asher wrangle the lost souls back to the underworld, there will be hell to pay.
Literally.
Enjoy a smoldering brush with Death in this fast, fun romantic comedy.
Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance author who has always been fascinated with things that go bump in the night. Of course, when you grow up next door to a cemetery, the dead (and the undead) are hard to ignore. Pair that with her passion for writing and her love of a good happily-ever-after, and becoming a paranormal romance author seems like the only logical career choice.
Before she decided to turn her love of the written word into a career, Carrie spent the first part of her professional life as a high school journalism and yearbook teacher. She loves good chocolate and bad puns, and in her free time, she likes to read, drink wine, and travel with her family.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This was yet another great novel by the author. I loved the comedic tone of the book, with Jane Devereux’s numerous problems and how she handles them. How the author was able to combine Christmas and vampires was quite amusing as well. Who would have thought, Santa as a vampire, but it worked. If you are looking for a quick, humorous, holiday read, I would highly recommend this book as well as others in the series.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire by Carrie Pulkinen is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. These can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading at least book 1 before delving into this book. This is a delightfully fun quick read. This entire series is light, paranormal reading set in the perfect setting of New Orleans. I really have enjoyed Jane in the past but this gave a new insight into her and her marriage to Ethan. Also, one would ask how Santa Claus could fit into the story, but seriously you need to read this to find out. This is full of laughs and great characters. A definite getaway from this cruddy year. I look forward to more in this series and from this author in the future.

Santa Got Run Over By A Vampire by Carrie Pulkinen is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. This is yet another fantastic addition to a brilliant series and is easily my favourite one so far. The whole book is highly entertaining and more then once I found myself smiling at what was going on. This also has to be one of the best holiday stories that I have read. It has the right amount of holiday cheer and story depth to make it more than just a Christmas story. This author has such a great way of creating a gripping book with such strong characters. I have yet to read one of her stories that I didn’t enjoy. This is an entertaining and well written book and a series that I would highly recommend.

Are you ready for a laugh riot? Looking for something to tickle your funny bone? Want to escape into a world filled with fun characters and humor galore? Then you need to pick up this fantastic book by Carrie Pulkinen! Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the 4th installment in the New Orleans Nocturne book series and Ms. Pulkinen keeps the fabulousness going with this latest read. Now, mind you, this is a stand-alone book. But I’ve said it before, do yourself a HUGE favor and pick up this series. You’ll want to get to know all of these wonderful characters and their stories.
Now, this latest book is about Jane Devereux (from License to Bite) and her antics adjusting to her new life. Jane is adjusting to her life fabulously until a small encounter with Father Christmas. Now with only 3 days to teach Santa the ways of the Vampire and get him back to the North Pole in time, things are a bit tense. Oh! And did I forget to mention Jane’s dad, the governor of Texas is coming for a visit to see her? Talk about a stressful Christmas! Follow Jane, her hubs-hottie Ethan, and their nocturnal friend Gaston as they try to get through this holiday!
With witty banter, great chemistry between the main characters, and a fun-loving story, Ms. Pulkinen hits a trifecta with her latest book. I loved being able to see each of the characters again and learning what they’ve been up to in their lives. Add in the fun town of New Orleans and great sub-characters, you can’t help but fall in love with this book. If you’re looking for a feel-good holiday read (you know, like a Hallmark Christmas movie type story with tons of laughs), then pick this beauty up.

Carrie is back at it again with another amazing addition to the New Orleans Nocturnes series! This is the fourth edition, and i have read, and loved every single book i have read from Carrie so far! This one in particular is absolutely hilarious. The main characters from “License to bite” make a hilarious return, This time to deal with Santa. Now each of these books can be stand alones, though you can read them in order if you like! I definitely recommend this author as a whole! I’ve loved her work from the start and i think you will too!

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the 4th book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. I have read them all and love them. They are quick reads that are hilarious. I don’t normally read supernatural books, but these are great. They are not dark, but instead light humored, about a group of friends, which include vampires, werewolves, witches and more. This book centers around Jane Devereux, so I recommend at least reading her book- License to Bite- to get the full background. This book is a short story, that you wont want to put down. It is fast paced and funny. Telling the story of how Jane runs over Santa, and in order to save his life, and Christmas, she must turn him into a vampire. Not your average Christmas story, but worth reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, lighthearted paranormal romance with a festive twist, which put me in the Christmas spirit. As I have read the previous books in the ‘New Orleans Nocturnes’ series, I was already familiar with the main characters, Jane and Ethan from book one ‘License to Bite’. However, each book in the series is a standalone story although the characters do crossover. In this quick holiday story, Jane Devereux is adjusting well to her new life as a nocturne. She is married to the hottest vampire in New Orleans, Ethan, and is running a popular nightclub in the French Quarter. When she accidentally runs Santa Claus over the only way to save him is to turn him into a vampire. Jane then has three days to teach Santa how to be a vampire and then get him back to the North Pole for Christmas Eve. To complicate her life further, Jane’s father is visiting her for Christmas and she has not told him that she’s married or that she’s a vampire. It was fun being back with the “vamps of New Orleans Nocturnes” and I enjoyed catching up with Jane and Ethan as they are great characters. The storyline flows well, making this an enjoyable and easy read whilst the narrative brings the characters to life. The story has some laugh out loud moments and it’s a real page turner of a novel. I found this romantic comedy with a paranormal twist an exciting and engaging read. I look forward to future books in the series.

I absolutely loved listening to The Rest of Forever. This was my first time experiencing an audio book by her and I loved every moment of it. I really enjoyed the premise of the book and how I was listening around Christmastime and felt like it was kismet. I had to be there and hear it. I am so excited that there will be more to come in the series and will definitely be checking them all out.
Guardian Angels are amazing and I am a huge believer in them so this book was less paranormal for me and I found it believable. I loved the banter between April and Damian, her angel. This book could make the perfect sitcom I swear. I look forward to seeing what else we will get in this series of books.
I have read a few books from this author and she keeps on surprising me. I love paranormal books but this series has me addicted. This is the fourth book to the awesome series called The New Orleans Nocturnes. You can read this book as a stand alone but some previous characters are in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put it down. This is a fun Christmas book that will make you laugh out loud. I can’t wait to see what this author will write about next.
Jane Devereux is getting used to her new undead life. She is now an owner to a hot night club and she is married to the hottest vampire ever. Jane goes for a ride in an awesome car and she ends up hitting someone. She hits Santa and she has to turn him into a vampire to save his life. Jane now has only three days to get the new Santa ready for Christmas and she has no idea what to do. To make matters worse she also has her father coming over this year and he has no idea that she’s married and is a vampire. Will Jane be able to save Christmas or will it all blow up in her face?
