I enjoyed this book, it has a little bit of everything in it from romance to mystery to ghosts. It is a creative, well written story that kept me turning pages until the end. This is about Emily and Sean. Emily doesn’t believe in ghosts but Sean is a medium. When a mysterious box shows up on Emily’s doorstep will Sean be able to convince her to believe? There are many great characters that make this story come alive and keep the story engaging. I highly recommend this book.

This is the third book in the series and they just keep getting better and better! I couldn’t put this one down and I devoured it in no time at all. This series is paranormal and it has the best of both worlds… werewolves and witches!! The story line of this book was fantastic and I love the authors attention to detail and her ability to make me the reader feel like I am part of the story! Bound by Blood by Carrie Pulkinen is a must-read paranormal book! I completely devoured it in one sitting as I got so swept up in the story and I couldn’t put it down. This is the 3rd book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series, a series that I would highly recommend! This paranormal series has it all, from werewolves and witches, captivating storylines, drama and of course each book is action-packed! There isn’t anything about this series that I don’t love!
I couldn’t wait to find out all about Alexis after her first appearance. She was so intriguing and incredibly misunderstood. She’s a woman who has endured so much pain and suffering causing her to build strong walls around her heart. I loved following her story and watching her character develop and unfold and of course I’ve loved Bryce from his first appearance, he may just be my favourite character of the series!
This is a book and series I would recommend to anyone looking for their next paranormal read, this is a series you won’t want to miss!

Bound by Blood is the third book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This book can be read as a standalone, but the previous books are spectacular reads so I recommend reading them as well. Once again, the author has created an engaging story. There is not a bad book in this series and Bound by Blood has added a great dimension to the Crescent City world. One of the things that really grabs you in these books is the expertly written villains and the way the heroes/heroines handle them.
I loved that this book has a female lead character, and a strong one at that. As the story progresses she maintains that strength, but also learns how to accept support from others. I like that the author kept Alexis a strong female figure and didn’t turn her into a passive princess.

Bound by Blood by Carrie Pulkinen is the third book in her Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This book can be read as a stand-alone however I fully believe that you should read this whole series as it is that good. The author has yet again weaved another tale that will hook you in from the start and keep you reading. I couldn’t wait to find out how Bryce would discover Alexis’s secret. The two characters worked really well together. They were both strong and could help themselves, however it was nice to see them be help to the other as well. This series has been interesting so far and this book has been a great addition to it. The author really knows how to tell a great story and to keep you invested, not just in the book but in the whole series. I can’t wait to see what else is to come.

Attractive, sculpted, and confident, Bryce is promoted to a new position. He is attracted to Alexis but afraid to share his sensitive side. She has her own secrets but as they spend more time together following a near death experience for Alexis they fall for each other. Alexis struggles to accept fate and let him in and does not want to get him mixed up in why she nearly died.
This was such a great addition to this series. It can be read as a standalone novel but I highly recommend reading the other books as well. The characters are developed well and grow as the storyline easily flows from one event to the other. It’s easy to get lost in this novel and lose track of time. There are a few sexual scenes they may be difficult for some but I felt that it gave the romance developing between the main characters some spice. Such a great read!

I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed. This is the third book in this series and I was just as hooked on this one as I was the first. The author has a really refreshing take on werewolved. I really couldn’t put this book down.
I really got into the story and could feel all the emotions Bryce was going through. I really could feel the chemistry between him and Alexis. The drama added just enough to the story line. I really liked that Bryce was the first human in one hundred years to be transformed. The story really just fits so well with the first two books and I really cannot wait to read more from not only this series but also this author.

Let me just say that I love this series. The characters are well rounded and likeable. They have the same insecurities as we do, which makes them relatable. This is book three in the series and I suggest you read part one and two because they are just as amazing as this book. This story focuses on Bryce and Alexis. Bryce Samuels is a no nonsense homicide detective. He gets promoted to sergeant and becomes a negotiator. His dream of helping people is coming true. He has fallen for his ex-partner’s sister and when he finds her in the hospital beaten and bruised, he is hell bent on protecting her; if only she’d let him.
Alexis Gentry is trying to get away from her psychotic ex and doesn’t want Bryce to get caught in the crossfire. Though she doesn’t want to care for him, her Wolf has decided that Bryce is her mate. How can she be with a human that doesn’t know that the supernatural exists?
I’m so happy that the author wrote a book about these two. The chemistry is good and I think Bryce handled the situation very well. Eric was the perfect miscreant, psycho is definitely an understatement. This is an excellent drama filled, action packed paranormal story. A must read!

Carrie Pulkinen’s Bound by Blood is the third book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This paranormal romances features secondary characters that have appeared earlier in the series: Bryce and Alexis. I like how this story is slightly different with the female being the “wolf” of the story. However, that doesn’t mean Bryce doesn’t carry a strong, typical male presence here – he certainly does. The tug and pull of these two is ever present and it makes reading the story intriguing and entertaining. Each of the books within this series have been strong on their own, but together they create a wonderful series. I do strongly recommend reading each book in sequential order to get the most from this series.

Alex Gentry is a rogue werewolf that doesn’t stay in one spot for too long. She is Macey’s sister that disappeared years ago.
Bryce Samuels had an attracted to Alexis the first time he saw it which didn’t go anywhere but things change when he finds her at the hospital because her boyfriend.
Wanting to help her out her situation, he offers for her to stay at his house which he accepts even though she is reluctant. For Alexis just any a woman, and this just isn’t some common issue he is dealing with. The werewolf community is something he is in the dark about and while trying to protect him, Alexis may find out that she may have to spill her secrets.
I really loved this novel. It was refreshing for the female protagonist to be werewolf and get more backstory on Alexis. She was a mysterious characters from the first book and I was so excited to learn more about her such as fears.
Her relationship with Bryce was very fun to read. Especially with both attracted to each other but not acting on it.
Bryce is also someone I loved, he was such a sweetheart with wanting to help people but he could also be alpha when protecting people he cares about.
I really don’t want to give anything away. It was fast paced read with great characters that make you feel for them.
This is series I highly recommend and can’t wait for the next book in the series. I hope this series never ends.

Well this is it. Bryce and Alexis (Macey’s sister) have a hot and cold relationship they both want each other but neither will go after it. When a chance encounter at the hospital bring them together things get hotter and the drama begins. With the perfect amount of drama and a unique storyline that varies with the characters personalities. As Alexis ex Eric starts causing problems and trying to do the impossible Alexis decides she is the one who needs to stop him in order to protect everyone she loves. No matter the cost. You see sides of both characters that makes you love them more while still waiting for the climax.

We are back with the pack and it’s all about Alexis. She is one skittish wolf. I didn’t really understand why she kept running but once you get into the story you see how she lost herself. Bryce never gave up and Lord I like that in a man. He went after what he wanted and eased so many fears. Women put up so many walls once they have been hurt. It takes a brave soul to fight a battle he might lose. The author once again gave us more than just a book. You get an autobiography of these characters lives and how they came together. I’m still waiting patiently for my one. This is why I love books like this. You get so much more than you thought. You learn the characters flaws and good points. Bound by Blood is Book 3 In the Crescent City Wolf Pack Series from author Carrie Pulkinen. This is my third read from this author and yet she still continues to surprise me with how brilliant each book is and how she captivates me even more with each book in this series. I can’t wait to see what else she brings to this series. While these books are written as part of a series, you can easily read these as stand-alone but I highly recommend that you read in order just for you to enjoy this incredible world this author has created.
This book was action packed, mysterious, suspenseful, fast-paced and thrilling, it has romance, passion & sexiness. This is an amazing read that hooks you in from the beginning and brings you on this amazing rollercoaster of a ride with some incredible characters. We are given twists and turns throughout that keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen next.
In this read Alexis & Bryce are our main characters in this read, and while we follow them on their journey we also get introduced to new and existing characters. From first meeting Alexis & Bryce in Book 1 I couldn’t wait for them to finally get their own back story. These two had sparks flying from the start – after reading Alexis backstory you can understand more of reasons of why she is that way. But finally seeing Bryce & Alexis get a story together they both take a journey in this read that is needed for the both of them!. With a couple of twists and turns this once again makes for an incredible read for any lover of the Paranormal Romance genre.
This book should not be missed – either shall it’s series! Don’t miss this one!

A great read about staying. Alexis Gentry has never stayed in one place for long, a rogue werewolf always on her own. Bryce Samuels is a policeman who has always found Alexis attractive, but never got the chance. When she gets into trouble with a werewolf exboyfriend, she ends up in hospital. Wanting to help her, Bryce looks after her and lets her stay at his house even thought she is reluctant. Will she run in fear of getting hurt or will she stay? A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Bryce helping people with kind nature underneath harsh personality or Alexis standing up for herself but also struggling with her fears. a great addition to the trilogy from a different perspective. also brilliant with the theme of how sometimes not all mental battles can be won, both in Alexis and also in the suicide rescue department which was perfectly written. I also loved the visual detail throughout the novel with the woods and the moon full of spooky natural imagery that was also calming and beautiful to add to the supernatural elements of the novel. i also loved the feel of the small town with its little cafes and cobbled streets to add to the sense of magic and mystery which was beautifully written. Or the scenes at the wedding full of people and life and colour with the dresses but also crowded nature for Alexis which was perfectly done. and the use of the senses throughout the novel with scents and tastes as if you were actualy there. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Bound by Blood is the third book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series by Carrie Pulkinen. It could be read as a standalone, but seriously, do yourself a real favour and read the other two books, because they are spectacular! You really won’t regret it! As I’ve said with each of the previous two books, I am completely in LOVE with this series, I have devoured each one in a matter of hours- glued to the pages from beginning till end- torn, in that I really had to know what happened, but at the same time not wanting the book(s) to end. I really couldn’t choose a favourite from the three (so far) because they are all brilliant in their own right- each one having its own identity and ‘flavour’, but also, because they all blend together to paint a much bigger (overall) picture, while complimenting the other books in the series at the same time. This (and the series) is a great paranormal romance- with shifters/werewolves, witches, the supernatural, mystery, suspense, danger, action, murder, drama, secrets, shocking discoveries, and emotion. As with the first two books- the story unfolds against the vibrant and mystical backdrop of New Orleans. Alexis Gentry is a rogue werewolf, a drifter, who has had such a hard life that her experiences have left her with trust issues and caused her to build a protective barrier around herself, one she won’t let anyone through- not even her little sister who she’s finally reunited with after 20 years. She is skittish, stubborn, and quite mysterious. She hasn’t had much luck when it’s come to relationships, as she always seems to pick men who’ve only brought her trouble and grief. So, she’s sworn off men and relationships. But, after meeting her sister’s work partner, she can’t stop thinking about him, and he brings out a sense of longing in her that has her questioning everything she thought she wanted. When her latest job goes sour, she quickly realises that she’s gotten in way over her head, and can’t seem to see a way out of her dangerous predicament- not without taking some drastic, desperate action- which results with her in hospital, needing to lay low for a while. Bryce Samuels has just gotten a promotion to Sergeant and put in the position as a negotiator- which is something he’s aspired to ever since joining the Force- saving lives is all he’s ever wanted to do. He’s really good at his job and has a natural instinct that gives him a bit of an edge over some of the other officers. He’s definitely not the settling down type, earning a reputation as an arrogant flirt who doesn’t do relationships. But in fact, there’s a lot more to him, which we discover as the story progresses. Bryce was captivated by Alexis from the moment he set eyes on her and would love to get to know her better. But he soon discovers that she quite the flighty one. When his latest case brings him to the hospital to check on the welfare of his neighbour, Bryce find Alexis has been admitted in a pretty battered state. Concern for her wellbeing has him offering her a safe place to stay until she gets back on her feet. Alexis is quite suspicious of his motives, no one does something for nothing- there is always a price to pay. Isn’t there? But things aren’t adding up, which raises Bryce’s suspicions and has him questioning everything, and puts his detective skills to the test. What happened to put Alexis in hospital? Will she take Bryce up on his offer? What happens when danger catches up with Alexis and places them both in peril? Can Alexis learn to trust? What happens when Bryce learns the truth? Alexis was so used to taking off when things get complicated, spending her whole life running- will she finally decide to stick around, put down some roots and take a chance on love? Bryce lives his life to the letter of the law, upholding the law with every fibre of his being- what will he do if a few laws need to be broken in order to protect the one/s he cares about? I must admit that I really didn’t know if I would really like Alexis as she seemed quite mysterious and somewhat aloof in the previous two books. But, the more I learned about her, and what she’d been through to make her who she is, made me really feel for her and understand her so much better. She did grow on me and by the end of the book I was definitely #teamAlexis. She did frustrate me at times, especially with her lack of communication, and the tendency to let her pride/ego rule. Bryce had already won me over in previous books- even though we knew very little about him, I liked him anyway. Getting to know him so completely in this book, just cemented my feelings. As with the previous book, I spent the majority of this one on the edge of my seat, wondering how things would play out! LOVE. LOVE. LOVE! James’ story is next…. Can’t wait! Superb!

Alexis is a rogue werewolf and therefore she has spent her life on the run since she first shifted at 13. But things are finally coming together. She has reunited with her sister after a very long time. Plus, now that her sister is happily married, she has an open invitation to join their pack. It would be nice to settle down, but all she has known is a life on the run. Although, the more she learns of Bryce, the more she feels like maybe she wants more. But would it ever work?
Bryce is Macie’s partner on the police force. When he is introduced to Macie’s sister, Alexis, there is something about her that immediately interests him. But she keeps leaving. When it looks like she has gotten into something that she can’t handle, he feels compelled to help her. She is hiding things, but he is determined to get the bottom of it. Plus, can he make her stay?
This is a great series. The two characters were both in the previous books, but we didn’t see too much of them. It was great to see them as the leads in this book. I really liked the idea of Alexis and was strongly hoping she would be featured in an upcoming book. Not to mention that Bryce seemed like a good guy too and I was happy to learn more of him. There is more going on than just their romance too, which makes this book even better. I got drawn into it right away and could not put it down until I was finished.

Not my first read by this author or in this series. I am addicted to these books! I will tell you that though these read as standalones, there are major spoilers and backstories from the other two books. So I highly suggest reading them before this one. That and, they’re freaking awesome as well.
I’ve been waiting for this book, right from book one when Alexis met Bryce in the first book. Sparks seemed to fly, and you even notice it in the second. This is a long time coming for me and I was so happy to finally read their story. I was not disappointed, I knew it was going to be Alexis centered and the hard life she lead up till now. Getting her backstory, fully, was what I’ve been waiting for. I have to say, it’s dark, heart breaking and makes you just want to hug her, but at the same time it makes you understand why she so stand-of-ish and unable to fully settle down. Alexis has been a solid character since book one, and I will tell you, though she my be damaged, but she’s no pushover. Girl is kickass.
Bryce, he’s another character we finally get to see the true colours of. I’m not going to tell you what they are as it will ruin the fun. But damn, I wouldn’t kick him out of bed for eating crackers. Overall Bryce again is has been a solid character from book one. There’s a twist at the end that brings him and Macey full circle and it fit perfectly. I was kind of expecting it, but still pleasantly surprised when I was right.
Overall this book like it’s predecessors was a wicket thrill ride that full of messy action, kickass werewolves, steamy romance and of course, rich detailed writing that just pulls you into this unique, captivating world. This book, this series, is a must read. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will fall head over heels for this outstanding read.

What an amazing story! I was so pleased to see this was out! I loved the last two and this one is special in its own right. I couldn’t wait to read the story of these two after seeing (reading) them in the last couple books. I figured they would have a good story. Boy was I right! The weaving of the story was perfect. It kept my interest and moved along at a good pace. There were some wonderful moments in here as well as a few shockers and out loud laughing. For example: The cooking scene….hahahahah…it….hahaha…makes me laugh….hahaha…every time ….haha*snort*haha…I think about it!! That Bryce! He’s a keeper! Haha! Great scene!!!!
These characters started so low and….well separate. They each have lived their own life just the way they want it for many years. Change was bound to happen. They each had so much room to grow. I wanted Alexis to stop being a rogue as much as Bryce did. But she is so stubborn and has been alone for so long….I feared it was all she knew. Bryce’s story was a shocker and it was told so well. Sorry No spoilers! I loved being inside their heads reading their wants and needs as well as their concerns. Usually I’m more of a dialogue person and the mesh of the two worked very well here. Each main character had so many secrets that to understand them we needed that little insight.
I am a huge werewolf fan so this series is right up my alley. I love seeing all the previous characters and getting to hang out with them. Seems like James is the only one left that is single…..ooh ooh makes me wonder if his man card is about to get punched???

This is the third book in this series,I highly suggest reading them all. I enjoy the characters as the author’s attention to detail makes them come alive and pop off the pages. One of the great things is when the author brings great characters back into the current book, I love seeing them. Bryce just got a promotion and Alexis has put a wall around her and the secret that she keeps. Letting him in could mean danger, I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens.

Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 3) Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance story that is full of action and mystery and is a great next book in the series. I am loving the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. Carrie has written characters that are well developed and I fell in love with each and every one of them. This book is well written and addicting. The story is told in several POV’s, enhancing the already wonderful and captivating storylines. Who doesn’t like a great paranormal romance that has everything, from shifters and witches, supernatural and suspense, danger and drama, murder and secrets. I love this magical world set in the mysterious New Orleans, and I can’t wait for the next book, James’s story.

The story Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 3) by Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance book. It is the next amazing story in a series that I have loved since I read the first book. You are hooked into this story from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Bryce Samuels and Alexis Gentry. Bryce has been a homicide detective, however, he really wants to save people’s lives when they are in need. He earns a promotion to a job that does just that. Bryce also has never been able to get Alexis out of his mind. Conversations and invites to her have been extended. He wants to get to know her better. Then she shows up at his door after an attack by her ex. An invitation to say with him is given. His emotions towards her are strong. Will Bryce act on his feelings for Alexis? Alexis is a woman who is strong, independent, smart, and stubborn. She is also labeled a rogue and has a bad habit of running when she becomes afraid. Will Alexis allow Bryce into her heart? Bryce doesn’t know about the supernatural world that is all around him. What will happen if he learns the truth? Will Alexis and Bryce have a chance at happiness together? Will they get an HEA? Read this book to find out. This story has mystery, drama, suspense, and danger. A combination that kept me turning pages to find out what happens next. There are also some steamy scenes included with the book that will make the temperature in the room rise. This is a story that I loved reading and would gladly give it more than a 5 if I could. The characters are great with lit quirks that make them seem real. The plot was great and the description this author gave you a great that I was able to see the scenes in my head. When he’s tasked with investigating a magicless witch who might be to blame for a string of murders in the French Quarter, the wolf in him wants to claim her as his mate. Beneath a Blue Moon is the second novel in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series by Carrie Pulkinen. This is my second novel by this author.
When Chase Beauchamp gets the assignment to investigate a witch, he is not thrilled about it, considering his hatred for them, but with a string a murders occurring in the French Quarters, he does the assignment. But when his wolf wants to claim her as his mate, things could get a little messy.
Following the events of the last book, Luke and Chase go wedding cake tasting for the upcoming wedding. At first sight, Chase feels drawn to the witch who owns the bakery and it unsure if she can be trusted.
Rain Connolly just wants to get rid of the hex and not be a outcast and when she meets Chase, sparks fly. She has spent the past seven year trying to unbound her powers and see Chase as to way to finally do it.
But will the two be able to be together?
With the introduction of Chase in the first book, I was excited to have a book about him and get more of his backstory. I was curious as to why he didn’t like witches and how that feeling would hinder his growing feeling for Rain as well as how that would affect their relationship.
Rain I felt wasn’t so flip flop like the heroine in the first novel and that she owned a bakery which I felt was also different. I generally don’t see a lot characters that are witches own bakeries. She was determined and was very interest character to read about.
Like the first book, I enjoyed the mystery and was hooked from the beginning. While this is a standalone and doesn’t have to read in order, there are some small events that may be mentioned as well as characters that may have their own book later on.
For fans of paranormal romance, I highly recommend this series.

A great read about possibilities. Chase Beauchamp lives a stable life as second in command of the Crescent City wolf pack until a witch is found brutally murdered. While cake tasting for his alphas wedding, he comes across another witch who is hiding secrets. Chase has always been wary towards witches, and it tries his patience. Will he able to put his mistrust aside, can he find out the truth before more supernatural creatures get hurt? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Rain wishing for a better tomorrow even if it seems impossible or Chase trying to protect his pack but still hold authority. Great supporting cast with kind and caring Snow or sweet Emma as a curious little girl. A terrific villain that will send shivers up your spine. A great example of building upon the fantasy world in a sequel with introduction of witches with their own laws and rules coexisting with the werewolves. the sense of facing the consequences of these laws was perfectly written to create tensions for Rain. The use of magic was spellbinding each time as something sacred but beautiful. And also the curse and the potion was perfectly written with specific rules to create difficulties for the character. I also enjoyed the witches mythological roots in nature and magic and kindness which is rare in literature. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the nature of the park and the storm and rain song as something soothing and intoxicating. Or the bakery with its colour and sense of smell and taste in all the cakes as if you were actually there. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Beneath a Blue Moon (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen This is book two in the series and it follows Chase second in command to Luke the alpha. Chase is wary of witches and avoids anything to do with them at all costs due to an event from his past. When he meets Rain a cursed witch he tries his best to avoid her even though the Alpha has put him on cake duty which deals with her directly. He is fine with just being civil until he realizes she is his fate bound. When an energy vampire begins targeting witches his protective instincts arise. Can he protect her while also keeping his family safe from her curse. Will he be forced to pick between his mate and the pack?
I loved this novel and both the main characters Rain and Chase. Rain had a spunky personality, strong will, and was full of compassion. She looks for ways to end her curse and hates that it causes others with witch blood harm for their kindness. Chase is a great guy. He is dedicated to the pack and to his family. He also sounds mouthwatering from the description in the book. I loved following the romance between the two and the storyline was easy to follow. I could not put this novel down. That’s why I rate it 5 stars.

I thought I enjoyed the first book. This one is even better! I was so happy to realize that this story was going to be about Chase Beauchamp, Luke’s right hand man. His love interest is Rain Connelly. She is everything that he could have hoped for and more. Unfortunately, she’s a witch. He’s had a grudge against witches since he was young. Nothing good ever came from his encounters with them. To top things off, he knows she’s hiding something. He plans to find out what.
Rain is cursed and was tossed out of the witch community with her powers bound. For seven years she has been trying to break the curse. She finally got an unbinding spell from an old witch and has been slowly gathering the ingredients. She all but gives up hope when she finds out what is the final ingredient until fate throws a sexy werewolf in her life. Getting the last ingredient could cost Chase his life.
The book was full of action, sexual tension and plot twists. Witches, werewolves and curses. Though the bad guy was evil and hateful, he was a cool antagonist with some twisted powers. I loved the fact that the Connelly sisters were named after their powers. This is a definite must read. I can’t wait to see what the author has coming next.

This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite so far. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. It pulled me in right from the start and kept me engaged until the end. I loved the characters, they were relateable and connectable. They took me on a journey of witches and shifters that left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what will happen next. Beneath a Blue Moon Carrie Pulkinen is the second book in the series and is a paranormal, romance. I enjoyed it as much as I did the first book in the series. It is full of magical werewolfs and witches and evil. Who doesn’t like a good shifter story where evil seeks revenge. A curse that can cause pain and misery and lots of action and mystery. Whilst mayhems reins, two of the most unlikely of matches find their way to each other but they have so much pain from the past that will keep them apart. One is cursed the other doesn’t like witches. Will they be able to overcome their differences and finally rid the evil that threatens them all or will curse and mistrust keep them from finding who they really are together? The one thing Rain needs is the one thing she can’t ask for. This story is a great read and I loved the characters. The story was told in several POV’s providing that much needed richness of a full story. I suggest you read the first book in the series and they are a good part of this book as well.
